How Much Does Revision rhinoplasty Cost in Thailand in AUD?

Revision rhinoplasty in Thailand typically costs from AUD $3,738 / ฿A127,101 to AUD $7,045 / ฿A239,537. Final pricing depends on the surgical complexity, the need for cartilage grafting, and the hospital tier. In Australia, patients often pay AUD $25,161 / ฿A855,489 on average for corrective nose surgery. Travelling to medical hubs like Bangkok or Pattaya allows for savings of roughly 79%. Most Thai clinic packages include surgical fees, anaesthesia, pre-operative blood tests, and initial post-operative medications.

  • Minor revisions: Typically cost 30–40% less than full reconstruction for correcting simple tip irregularities.
  • Cartilage grafting: Using rib or ear cartilage usually adds a 25–35% premium to the base price.
  • Hospital tier: Prices at JCI-accredited facilities move higher than those at independent boutique clinics.
  • Complex reconstruction: Addressing structural collapses can increase the standard revision cost by 40–60%.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Australian patients find high value in Bangkok clinics that combine extensive volume with hospital-grade safety. For instance, Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic Bangkok has performed 20,000 operations. Larger facilities like Wansiri Hospital provide 24-hour post-operative care and VIP recovery rooms. These higher-tier options often start around A$9,500 but include luxury accommodation and full diagnostic imaging. Choosing an international hospital certified by JCI ensures quality systems meet global benchmarks similar to private Australian care.

Data verified by Bookimed as of July 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 210 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

What truly stood out was my surgeon, who was honest about realistic results from the start and personally handled both the consultation and the surgery
I was thinking that going into a revision was getting unrealistic promises. What truly stood out was my surgeon, who was honest about realistic results from the start and personally handled both the consultation and the surgery. It gave me confidence. My alarplasty was done to correct an asymmetric nose, and while I'm still in the early stages of healing, it’s really too early to tell what the final outcome will be. The staff were supportive, providing a clear aftercare guide for my recovery at home. I also appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I had already paid the clinic.
Caring nurses & Dr. was nice
The clinic itself was a bit run down looking.

My breathing is now even better than before
My biggest concern was that the result might look unnatural or that my breathing might be affected. Neither of these things happened. In fact, my breathing is now even better than before. During the open rhinoplasty, a small bump was removed and the bridge of my nose is now, even so soon after the procedure, already straighter, just as I wanted. In addition, the tip of my nose already looks much more defined. The staff and the surgeon were consistently supportive and answered all my questions patiently, which gave me a great deal of reassurance. I felt I was in good hands.
Very simple and straightforward

I'm still healing from my surgery but so far I'm very happy with the result and would recommend the hospital and clinic, and would like to reassure anyone going abroad that you'll be in good hands!
Had a rhinoplasty at B care hospital and the care the team provided was amazing. Just wanted to write this to reassure anyone looking into it, as my family were concerned about me heading out to Thailand to have the procedure as a lot of families would be. The hospital and clinic were sparkling clean. The co-ordinator, nurse and doctor were all just lovely and very attentive to my needs. There was no difficulty communicating with the doctor who went through exactly what would be done during the procedure. One thing I was happy about was the 2 nights in hospital - other places I looked at only gave you one night, or even home the same day. Being sleepy after the surgery, I wouldn't have wanted to go back to my accom the same day. I was grateful I had the lovely nurse Mariko looking after me. Also the room at the hospital was lovely - spacious and bright with a nice en suite and all the facilities you would need. I also realised I had tonsillitis on the day I left the hospital (I think I got it before I even had the surgery) and the team were very caring and made sure I had all the medications I needed for that too, before going back to my accommodation. I'm still healing from my surgery but so far I'm very happy with the result and would recommend the hospital and clinic, and would like to reassure anyone going abroad that you'll be in good hands! Bookimed were also really good at keeping in touch and my coordinator Marsela was patient while I took my time to decide if I was going to go ahead with the procedure in the first place, and was always there to answer any questions I had. All very much appreciated!

I'm very impressed with the outcome
I'm very impressed with the outcome. Bookimed assistant was helpful and arrange a virtual consultation with the consultant. While English was not his strong fort, his expertise made up for it. The staff, especially Margi was extremely valuable as she speaks fluently English. Her knowledge and expertise was well appreciated as well as her care and attentiveness. The staff was nice. I did rhinoplasty and liposuction and I'll very impressed with the outcome. Post op care was provided. The nose did not hurt post op in comparison with the liposuction, which was quite uncomfortable. Not painful, numb and tender I suppose. As to the cost, it's fairly competitive.
The expertise
More English speakers would have been nice.

The language needs to be improved for translation. The doctor needs to spend more time with clients explaining the procedures that will happen. The after care is very intermediate. Any issues raised is hard to explain because of the language difference. A staff are wonderful however I’m not sure about the qualifications felt like I was in an abattoir. Still waiting to see surgeon back in home country as cast taken off to soon and nose is out of shape . Rather concerned but I guess you get what you pay for
The staff are wonderful, but again, not sure about the qualification
Language communication with the consultation very poor and only seen us for three minutes. Photo of what I was expecting. Outcome doesn’t look anything like I specified. When raised with the surgeon was told once again with poor English that it was swelling and a nod of head that all is ok..
About Bookimed service
This is very far from what the photos and staff on booking IMED presented. It felt like a very rough area, hygiene had a lot to stand up for western standard , again staff are wonderful but the language barrier is unbearable when you are getting surgery and worries about certain things that just can’t be answered due to language barriers

I was assured of the professionalism of the doctor and staff and this made me felt more confident of the operation success
I always have doubts on surgery in Bangkok for safety and success level of each operation. However, during the whole process, I was assured of the professionalism of the doctor and staff and this made me felt more confident of the operation success.
1. The staff at the clinic were helpful most of the time, especially if you travel alone. They will provide some helpful insights before and after operation. 2. Operation was smooth in a clean and organized clinic.
1. Transport arrangement maybe limited as there is only one driver.

Everyone (doctors & staff) were incredibly attentive during my rhinoplasty procedure. I felt heard from the minute I had my consult to the minute I left after my final appointment. The staff were always available and my result was exactly what o wanted. Very very pleased
The doctor listened & the staff were extremely approachable and pro active. The facilities were clean, modern and I felt comfortable throughout.
There was nothing I didn’t like but I feel like a slightly better hotel would make the experience nicer although the staff there were lovely and the place was clean.

Thank you for your hospitality
I thought the level of service was exceptional from collecting the patient from the hotel to driving them back was a nice touch. Looking after the patient (me) to see if I was hungry or thirsty was fantastic service. All staff are great and respectful. Thank you for your hospitality.
When the bandages came off and saw my result for the first time.
A little more patience and empathy with the customer to understand stages as it’s an overwhelming experience and life changing process.

FAQ about Revision rhinoplasty in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is it safe to undergo revision rhinoplasty in Thailand?

Revision rhinoplasty in Thailand is safe when performed by surgeons board-certified by the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand. Leading Bangkok hospitals maintain JCI and ISO accreditations. These facilities follow strict safety standards. They use technologies like 3D facial scanning and rib cartilage grafting for complex reconstructive cases.

  • Expert credentials: Specialised surgeons often hold memberships in the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).
  • Effective technology: Centres like Dr. Chen Surgery Hospital use 3D scanning and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  • Sterile environments: Facilities such as Wansiri Hospital feature Clean Room standards with HEPA air filtration.
  • High volume expertise: Dr. Tanongsak Panyawirunroj at Asia Cosmetic Hospital has performed over 15,000 procedures.
  • Comprehensive monitoring: Hospitals provide private recovery suites with 24-hour nursing care for international patients.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many Australian patients prioritise cost. However, the real safety differentiator in Thailand is surgical volume. Specialist centres in Bangkok serve up to 1,000,000 patients annually. Surgeons like Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul have performed 20,000+ procedures. This provides an experience level rarely matched in lower-volume clinics.

Patient Consensus: Successful patients suggest choosing surgeons with documented revision-specific experience. Many found that 3D preoperative imaging helped align their expectations with realistic surgical possibilities.

How long must I wait after my initial surgery before seeking a revision rhinoplasty in Thailand?

Patients must wait 12 to 18 months after a primary surgery before seeking revision rhinoplasty in Thailand. This timeline lets nasal swelling subside and delicate internal scar tissue soften. JCI-accredited Bangkok hospitals require tissues to fully mature. This helps avoid complications and provides structural stability.

  • Swelling resolution: Tip swelling often takes 12 months to disappear for accurate surgical planning.
  • Tissue softening: Surgeons need soft, mature scar tissue to safely reshape nasal structures.
  • Blood supply: Waiting allows blood vessels to re-establish, preventing healing issues during revision.
  • In-country stay: International patients should remain in Bangkok for 10 to 14 days.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai specialists like Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj, who has performed 15,000+ procedures, often use 3D facial scanning to assess healing. While the 12-month rule is standard, patients with thicker skin frequently benefit from waiting 18 months. This extra time allows the skin envelope to shrink-wrap properly over the new frame.

Patient Consensus: Surgeons in Thailand strongly advise delaying surgery until tissues stabilise and swelling subsides entirely. Many patients found that early imperfections resolved themselves naturally within the first year of healing.

Why is revision rhinoplasty in Thailand considered more complex than a primary procedure?

Revision rhinoplasty in Thailand is more complex due to dense scar tissue and altered nasal anatomy. Previous surgeries also deplete cartilage. Thai specialists frequently manage complicated cases involving synthetic implant removal. They use rib and ear cartilage grafts to restore structural integrity and function.

  • Tissue planes: Scarring from initial surgery makes dissecting nasal layers significantly more difficult.
  • Cartilage depletion: Surgeons often harvest rib or ear cartilage when septal reserves are gone.
  • Implant removal: Many cases in Thailand involve replacing old silicone grafts with natural tissue.
  • Open technique: Specialists use open rhinoplasty for the visibility needed for precise rebuilding.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai surgeons like Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj at Asia Cosmetic Hospital and Dr Chen Chaicharncheep at Dr Chen Surgery Hospital are highly experienced. They have performed 15,000+ and 20,000+ operations respectively. This high volume in reconstructive rib grafting helps them handle challenges Australians face with failing primary implants.

Patient Consensus: Expect a more reconstructive than cosmetic approach in Thailand. This is because previous surgeries often shift support structures. Patients found success by choosing specialists who use ear or rib grafts and 3D facial scanning.

Who is an ideal candidate for revision rhinoplasty in Thailand?

Ideal candidates for revision rhinoplasty in Thailand are adults. They must have waited at least 12 to 18 months since their initial surgery. Candidates need clear, correctable issues like breathing difficulties or structural asymmetry. Major Bangkok hospitals like Bumrungrad International Hospital and Wansiri Hospital require patients to be in good health.

  • Tissue maturity: Tissues must be fully healed and scar tissue softened before any surgical intervention.
  • Specific concerns: Best results occur when fixing distinct issues like crooked bridges or over-resected tips.
  • Graft readiness: Candidates must accept using autologous grafts like rib cartilage for structural reconstruction.
  • Health status: Non-smokers with stable medical conditions help ensure proper skin flap healing during recovery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Dr. Chen Surgery Hospital use Swiss 3D facial scanning to manage expectations. This technology is vital for revision cases where scar tissue limits physical changes. Surgeons such as Dr. Tanongsak Panyawirunroj have performed 15,000+ procedures. They have the experience needed to navigate complex secondary nasal anatomy.

Patient Consensus: Success in Thailand depends on clearly describing previous issues like over-resection or breathing blocks. Revision surgery delivers improvement rather than perfection because of existing scar tissue. Most people find that planning for at least 14 days in Bangkok allows for essential monitoring.

What is the expected recovery timeline for revision rhinoplasty in Thailand?

Revision rhinoplasty in Thailand requires 10–14 days in-country for initial healing and fit-to-fly clearance. Full structural settling and final refinement typically take 12–18 months. Leading Bangkok clinics use 3D scanning and rib cartilage grafting for complex reconstruction needs.

  • Clinic stay: Expect 10–14 days in Thailand for suture removal and flight clearance.
  • Social recovery: Bruising and major swelling usually subside within 2–4 weeks post-surgery.
  • Substantial healing: Approximately 70% of tissue swelling resolves by the 3-month mark.
  • Final results: Tip definition and graft integration can take over 12 months to settle.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai surgeons often use hyperbaric oxygen therapy to speed up revision recovery. Centres like Dr. Chen Surgery Hospital use this to reduce swelling quickly. This is vital because scar tissue from previous surgeries slows down healing.

Patient Consensus: Expect the first 2 weeks in Thailand to be the most physically demanding. While you look normal after a month, the final shape takes a year to emerge.

How long should I plan to stay in Thailand for a revision rhinoplasty?

Plan for a 10 to 14-day stay in Thailand for a revision rhinoplasty. This timeframe allows for complex tissue reconstruction and cartilage grafting. It also covers essential follow-up care before your flight home. This 2-week window helps manage cabin pressure risks for safe long-haul travel.

  • Clinical observation: Major hospitals like Wansiri Hospital usually require 1–2 nights of inpatient monitoring.
  • Cartilage grafting: Revision typically requires rib or ear cartilage grafts for structural support.
  • Recovery milestones: Surgeons remove internal packing and external nasal splints between days 4 and 12.
  • Specialised aftercare: Centres like Dr. Chen Surgery Hospital use hyperbaric oxygen therapy to reduce swelling.
  • Flight clearance: A "Fit to Fly" certificate is issued after 10–14 days for safe travel.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Revision cases in Thailand often involve Dr. Chen or Dr. Tanongsak Panyawirunroj. They have combined experience with 35,000+ procedures. Their high-volume experience is vital. Revision surgery is more complex than primary operations and requires precise structural rebuilding.

Patient Consensus: A 14-day stay is the bare minimum for revision cases. Patients recommend adding a buffer week if possible. Initial swelling and bruising from complex grafting often last longer than primary surgery.
