How Much Does Closed rhinoplasty Cost in Thailand in AUD?

Closed rhinoplasty in Thailand typically costs from AUD $1,442 / ฿A49,023 to AUD $3,316 / ฿A112,753. Prices depend on the surgeon's experience, clinic accreditation, and whether the patient requires primary work or a secondary correction. Patients save around 86% by travelling to Thailand from Australia, where this procedure costs AUD $18,023 / ฿A612,788 on average. Most Thai medical packages include hospital stay, anaesthetic, and follow-up care.

  • Surgeon expertise: Specialised surgeons with 20+ years of experience often charge higher rates.
  • Medical hubs: Bangkok and Pattaya serve as the primary destinations with the most competitive pricing.
  • Alarplasty addition: Combining nose tip work with nostril reduction typically increases costs by 20–30%.
  • Revision procedures: Correcting previous surgeries may cost 50% more due to scar tissue complexity.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics frequently welcome Australian patients, offering international standards at significantly lower costs. For example, Wansiri Hospital and Asia Cosmetic Hospital are popular choices that maintain JCI or ISO certifications. While basic packages start around A$1,600, choosing a specialist like Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul, who has performed over 20,000 procedures, provides high-volume expertise rarely found in private Australian practices.

Data verified by Bookimed as of July 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 174 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

My breathing is now even better than before
My biggest concern was that the result might look unnatural or that my breathing might be affected. Neither of these things happened. In fact, my breathing is now even better than before. During the open rhinoplasty, a small bump was removed and the bridge of my nose is now, even so soon after the procedure, already straighter, just as I wanted. In addition, the tip of my nose already looks much more defined. The staff and the surgeon were consistently supportive and answered all my questions patiently, which gave me a great deal of reassurance. I felt I was in good hands.
Very simple and straightforward

I'm still healing from my surgery but so far I'm very happy with the result and would recommend the hospital and clinic, and would like to reassure anyone going abroad that you'll be in good hands!
Had a rhinoplasty at B care hospital and the care the team provided was amazing. Just wanted to write this to reassure anyone looking into it, as my family were concerned about me heading out to Thailand to have the procedure as a lot of families would be. The hospital and clinic were sparkling clean. The co-ordinator, nurse and doctor were all just lovely and very attentive to my needs. There was no difficulty communicating with the doctor who went through exactly what would be done during the procedure. One thing I was happy about was the 2 nights in hospital - other places I looked at only gave you one night, or even home the same day. Being sleepy after the surgery, I wouldn't have wanted to go back to my accom the same day. I was grateful I had the lovely nurse Mariko looking after me. Also the room at the hospital was lovely - spacious and bright with a nice en suite and all the facilities you would need. I also realised I had tonsillitis on the day I left the hospital (I think I got it before I even had the surgery) and the team were very caring and made sure I had all the medications I needed for that too, before going back to my accommodation. I'm still healing from my surgery but so far I'm very happy with the result and would recommend the hospital and clinic, and would like to reassure anyone going abroad that you'll be in good hands! Bookimed were also really good at keeping in touch and my coordinator Marsela was patient while I took my time to decide if I was going to go ahead with the procedure in the first place, and was always there to answer any questions I had. All very much appreciated!

I'm very impressed with the outcome
I'm very impressed with the outcome. Bookimed assistant was helpful and arrange a virtual consultation with the consultant. While English was not his strong fort, his expertise made up for it. The staff, especially Margi was extremely valuable as she speaks fluently English. Her knowledge and expertise was well appreciated as well as her care and attentiveness. The staff was nice. I did rhinoplasty and liposuction and I'll very impressed with the outcome. Post op care was provided. The nose did not hurt post op in comparison with the liposuction, which was quite uncomfortable. Not painful, numb and tender I suppose. As to the cost, it's fairly competitive.
The expertise
More English speakers would have been nice.

The language needs to be improved for translation. The doctor needs to spend more time with clients explaining the procedures that will happen. The after care is very intermediate. Any issues raised is hard to explain because of the language difference. A staff are wonderful however I’m not sure about the qualifications felt like I was in an abattoir. Still waiting to see surgeon back in home country as cast taken off to soon and nose is out of shape . Rather concerned but I guess you get what you pay for
The staff are wonderful, but again, not sure about the qualification
Language communication with the consultation very poor and only seen us for three minutes. Photo of what I was expecting. Outcome doesn’t look anything like I specified. When raised with the surgeon was told once again with poor English that it was swelling and a nod of head that all is ok..
About Bookimed service
This is very far from what the photos and staff on booking IMED presented. It felt like a very rough area, hygiene had a lot to stand up for western standard , again staff are wonderful but the language barrier is unbearable when you are getting surgery and worries about certain things that just can’t be answered due to language barriers

I was assured of the professionalism of the doctor and staff and this made me felt more confident of the operation success
I always have doubts on surgery in Bangkok for safety and success level of each operation. However, during the whole process, I was assured of the professionalism of the doctor and staff and this made me felt more confident of the operation success.
1. The staff at the clinic were helpful most of the time, especially if you travel alone. They will provide some helpful insights before and after operation. 2. Operation was smooth in a clean and organized clinic.
1. Transport arrangement maybe limited as there is only one driver.

Very very pleased
Everyone (doctors & staff) were incredibly attentive during my rhinoplasty procedure. I felt heard from the minute I had my consult to the minute I left after my final appointment. The staff were always available and my result was exactly what o wanted. Very very pleased
The doctor listened & the staff were extremely approachable and pro active. The facilities were clean, modern and I felt comfortable throughout.
There was nothing I didn’t like but I feel like a slightly better hotel would make the experience nicer although the staff there were lovely and the place was clean.

Thank you for your hospitality
I thought the level of service was exceptional from collecting the patient from the hotel to driving them back was a nice touch. Looking after the patient (me) to see if I was hungry or thirsty was fantastic service. All staff are great and respectful. Thank you for your hospitality.
When the bandages came off and saw my result for the first time.
A little more patience and empathy with the customer to understand stages as it’s an overwhelming experience and life changing process.

FAQ about Closed rhinoplasty in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the safety and qualification standards for closed rhinoplasty surgeons in Thailand?

Qualified closed rhinoplasty surgeons in Thailand must hold a Diploma from the Thai Board of Plastic Surgery. Alternatively, they may have specialised certification in Otolaryngology. High safety standards are maintained through JCI accreditation at major Bangkok facilities. These centres use 15-year surgical training pathways and face strict oversight by the Medical Council of Thailand.

  • Board certification: Surgeons must hold Diplomate status from the Thai Board of Plastic Surgery.
  • Clinical training: Qualification requires 6 years of medical school and 5–7 years of surgical residency.
  • Hospital accreditation: Leading centres like Bumrungrad International Hospital maintain JCI and ISO safety certifications.
  • Professional membership: Top specialists belong to the Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons of Thailand (ThSAPS).

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai surgical expertise is often concentrated in high-volume specialists. For instance, Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj at Asia Cosmetic Hospital has performed over 15,000 procedures. Patients should seek surgeons with similar case volumes at hospitals with 24-hour anaesthesia and ICU support. Avoid standalone cosmetic shops.

Patient Consensus: Australians often choose Bangkok for the hospital-based surgical environment. They recommend checking if a surgeon specialises in facial plastic surgery or otolaryngology. This helps ensure functional breathing outcomes.

What is a closed rhinoplasty, and how does it differ from an open rhinoplasty for patients in Thailand?

Closed rhinoplasty in Thailand involves incisions solely inside the nostrils, so there is no visible external scarring. This endonasal technique differs from open rhinoplasty. Open surgery uses an additional columellar incision to elevate the nasal skin for complex reconstruction or revision surgeries.

  • Incision location: Closed incisions stay inside nostrils, while open surgery adds a small columellar cut.
  • Surgical access: Open techniques provide better exposure for major reshaping and correcting nasal asymmetry.
  • Clinical suitability: Closed is ideal for minor bridge augmentation using implants or basic hump reduction.
  • Recovery speed: Closed surgery patients often experience less initial swelling and return to daily life faster.
  • Revision cases: Open rhinoplasty is usually mandatory for fixing failed previous surgeries or complex grafting.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Asia Cosmetic Hospital and ID Clinic Bangkok handle over 4,000 cases annually. Data shows high-volume surgeons there often specialise in the closed silicone implant technique. This popular local approach costs from $1,000 to $2,300, saving Australians up to 89% compared to domestic prices.

Patient Consensus: Patients find closed surgery a great choice for minor bridge heightening without scars. For significant tip work or fixing breathing issues, many recommend the open approach. Experience with Thai anatomy allows surgeons to deliver natural results using both methods.

Who is an ideal candidate for a closed nose job in Thailand?

Ideal candidates for a closed nose job in Thailand want subtle refinements without external scarring. This scarless technique suits patients with thin-to-medium skin and stable nasal cartilage. It is best for primary surgery rather than complex reconstructive or revision work.

  • Structural goals: Best for smoothing mild dorsal humps or performing minor tip refinement (tipoplasty).
  • Skin quality: Thinner skin allows delicate internal modifications to remain defined.
  • Primary surgery: Most effective for first-time patients without significant scar tissue from previous operations.
  • Medical readiness: Requires good physical health, non-smoking status, and a fully developed nasal structure.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics offer standard rhinoplasty. However, Bookimed data shows several Bangkok centres now use 3D face scanning for precise surgical planning. Surgeons like Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj at Asia Cosmetic Hospital have performed over 15,000 procedures. High case volume is a key indicator of skill in scarless techniques.

Patient Consensus: Patients value the absence of external incisions in Thailand. They suggest choosing surgeons who specialise in natural-looking results. They recommend arranging telehealth follow-ups before flying home. This ensures a smooth recovery after the initial ten-day stay.

What is the typical recovery timeline for a closed rhinoplasty performed in Thailand?

Recovery after closed rhinoplasty in Thailand generally takes 7 to 10 days for social readiness. Complete tissue refinement requires 12 to 18 months. Because incisions are internal, patients avoid visible scarring. Acute swelling typically settles faster than with open surgery techniques.

  • Clinic stay: Patients usually spend 1 night at facilities such as Asia Cosmetic Hospital.
  • Splint removal: External splints and internal stitches are removed between days 5 and 7.
  • Air travel: Airlines and surgeons require a 7 to 10-day stay before long-haul flights.
  • Work return: Resuming non-physical office duties is typically possible by the second week.
  • Activity limits: Heavy exercise and spicy foods must be avoided for 4 to 6 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many clinics offer standard closed techniques, Dr Sirikan Sasivimonphan at Dr Chen Surgery Hospital uses 3D face scanning. This technology helps surgeons predict how internal swelling will resolve. This is vital for patients managing tight travel schedules.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand often mention that elevation during sleep is the most helpful factor. They also frequently note that avoiding local spicy cuisine for 6 weeks prevents unexpected nasal swelling.

What materials are commonly used for nasal bridge augmentation in Thailand?

Nasal bridge augmentation in Thailand primarily uses medical-grade silicone implants, autologous rib cartilage, and e-PTFE (Gore-Tex). Surgeons often combine synthetic implants for height with natural tissue for the tip. This creates a safe, defined profile for aesthetic and functional goals.

  • Medical-grade silicone: Most common material used at clinics like Asia Cosmetic Hospital for cost-effective height.
  • Autologous rib cartilage: Harvested from the patient for structural support and complex revision rhinoplasty cases.
  • Gore-Tex (e-PTFE): Porous synthetic material allowing tissue integration and creating a soft, natural bridge contour.
  • Dermo-fat grafts: Natural tissue used to cushion implants or subtly build bridge volume in thin skin.
  • Acellular dermal matrix: Biocompatible layers wrapped around silicone to prevent skin thinning or redness.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows Thai clinics excel in hybrid techniques. Experts like Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj at Asia Cosmetic Hospital have performed 15,000+ procedures. They often combine silicone bridge implants with autologous cartilage tips. This specific approach reduces risks like implant extrusion while achieving high definition.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand often report silicone as the standard for bridge definition. Many suggest asking surgeons to compare cartilage grafting versus implants. This helps balance achievable height with a natural feel.

How long should I plan to stay in Thailand after my closed rhinoplasty surgery?

Plan to stay in Thailand for at least 7–10 days after closed rhinoplasty surgery. Staying 14 days is recommended for long-haul flights back to Australia. Surgeons at JCI-accredited facilities require 5–7 days before removing splints and providing fit-to-fly certificates.

  • First review: Surgeons check initial healing and manage peak swelling within 48 hours.
  • Splint removal: Splints and any stitches are typically removed during days 5–7.
  • Fit-to-fly clearance: Most Bangkok clinics provide mandatory airline clearance between days 8–10.
  • Pressure management: Extra days help nasal passages settle before facing cabin pressure changes.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics like Asia Cosmetic Hospital report high safety ratings by involving anaesthetists and cardiologists in the surgical process. While closed rhinoplasty heals faster externally, staying 14 days is the smartest move for Australians. This helps avoid mid-air complications during the 9-hour flight home.

Patient Consensus: Visitors to Thailand suggest booking flexible flights to allow for extra healing days. Most find that staying at least 10 days makes the long return trip much more comfortable.
