How Much Does Wide Nose Rhinoplasty Cost in Thailand in AUD?

Wide nose rhinoplasty in Thailand typically costs from AUD $3,457 / ฿A117,549 to AUD $3,457 / ฿A117,549. Prices depend on surgical complexity, the technique used, and the chosen city. In Australia, this procedure costs AUD $20,456 / ฿A695,500 on average, so patients save roughly 77%. Standard packages often cover surgeon fees, anaesthetic, and follow-up care in hubs like Bangkok and Pattaya.

  • Osteotomy: helps narrow a wide nasal bridge through precise bone reshaping.
  • Alarplasty: reduces nostril width and is often performed alongside bridge narrowing.
  • Bulbous tip correction: reshapes a rounded tip and typically costs 10–15% less than full reconstruction.
  • Ultrasonic (Piezo) technique: often adds a 15–20% premium for higher precision and less bruising.
  • Open rhinoplasty: usually adds 15–30% to the cost compared to closed surgical techniques.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing large hubs offers significant value for Australian patients seeking high safety standards. Bangkok Hospital Pattaya and Bumrungrad International Hospital both hold JCI accreditation, which confirms they meet international quality benchmarks. Some clinics, like Sikarin Hospital, specifically cater to Australians and provide transparent pricing. While boutique clinics offer lower rates, these larger hospitals provide integrated specialist departments and extensive onsite support.

Data verified by Bookimed as of July 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 32 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

My breathing is now even better than before
My biggest concern was that the result might look unnatural or that my breathing might be affected. Neither of these things happened. In fact, my breathing is now even better than before. During the open rhinoplasty, a small bump was removed and the bridge of my nose is now, even so soon after the procedure, already straighter, just as I wanted. In addition, the tip of my nose already looks much more defined. The staff and the surgeon were consistently supportive and answered all my questions patiently, which gave me a great deal of reassurance. I felt I was in good hands.
Very simple and straightforward

I'm still healing from my surgery but so far I'm very happy with the result and would recommend the hospital and clinic, and would like to reassure anyone going abroad that you'll be in good hands!
Had a rhinoplasty at B care hospital and the care the team provided was amazing. Just wanted to write this to reassure anyone looking into it, as my family were concerned about me heading out to Thailand to have the procedure as a lot of families would be. The hospital and clinic were sparkling clean. The co-ordinator, nurse and doctor were all just lovely and very attentive to my needs. There was no difficulty communicating with the doctor who went through exactly what would be done during the procedure. One thing I was happy about was the 2 nights in hospital - other places I looked at only gave you one night, or even home the same day. Being sleepy after the surgery, I wouldn't have wanted to go back to my accom the same day. I was grateful I had the lovely nurse Mariko looking after me. Also the room at the hospital was lovely - spacious and bright with a nice en suite and all the facilities you would need. I also realised I had tonsillitis on the day I left the hospital (I think I got it before I even had the surgery) and the team were very caring and made sure I had all the medications I needed for that too, before going back to my accommodation. I'm still healing from my surgery but so far I'm very happy with the result and would recommend the hospital and clinic, and would like to reassure anyone going abroad that you'll be in good hands! Bookimed were also really good at keeping in touch and my coordinator Marsela was patient while I took my time to decide if I was going to go ahead with the procedure in the first place, and was always there to answer any questions I had. All very much appreciated!

I'm very impressed with the outcome
I'm very impressed with the outcome. Bookimed assistant was helpful and arrange a virtual consultation with the consultant. While English was not his strong fort, his expertise made up for it. The staff, especially Margi was extremely valuable as she speaks fluently English. Her knowledge and expertise was well appreciated as well as her care and attentiveness. The staff was nice. I did rhinoplasty and liposuction and I'll very impressed with the outcome. Post op care was provided. The nose did not hurt post op in comparison with the liposuction, which was quite uncomfortable. Not painful, numb and tender I suppose. As to the cost, it's fairly competitive.
The expertise
More English speakers would have been nice.

The language needs to be improved for translation. The doctor needs to spend more time with clients explaining the procedures that will happen. The after care is very intermediate. Any issues raised is hard to explain because of the language difference. A staff are wonderful however I’m not sure about the qualifications felt like I was in an abattoir. Still waiting to see surgeon back in home country as cast taken off to soon and nose is out of shape . Rather concerned but I guess you get what you pay for
The staff are wonderful, but again, not sure about the qualification
Language communication with the consultation very poor and only seen us for three minutes. Photo of what I was expecting. Outcome doesn’t look anything like I specified. When raised with the surgeon was told once again with poor English that it was swelling and a nod of head that all is ok..
About Bookimed service
This is very far from what the photos and staff on booking IMED presented. It felt like a very rough area, hygiene had a lot to stand up for western standard , again staff are wonderful but the language barrier is unbearable when you are getting surgery and worries about certain things that just can’t be answered due to language barriers

I was assured of the professionalism of the doctor and staff and this made me felt more confident of the operation success
I always have doubts on surgery in Bangkok for safety and success level of each operation. However, during the whole process, I was assured of the professionalism of the doctor and staff and this made me felt more confident of the operation success.
1. The staff at the clinic were helpful most of the time, especially if you travel alone. They will provide some helpful insights before and after operation. 2. Operation was smooth in a clean and organized clinic.
1. Transport arrangement maybe limited as there is only one driver.

Very very pleased
Everyone (doctors & staff) were incredibly attentive during my rhinoplasty procedure. I felt heard from the minute I had my consult to the minute I left after my final appointment. The staff were always available and my result was exactly what o wanted. Very very pleased
The doctor listened & the staff were extremely approachable and pro active. The facilities were clean, modern and I felt comfortable throughout.
There was nothing I didn’t like but I feel like a slightly better hotel would make the experience nicer although the staff there were lovely and the place was clean.

Thank you for your hospitality
I thought the level of service was exceptional from collecting the patient from the hotel to driving them back was a nice touch. Looking after the patient (me) to see if I was hungry or thirsty was fantastic service. All staff are great and respectful. Thank you for your hospitality.
When the bandages came off and saw my result for the first time.
A little more patience and empathy with the customer to understand stages as it’s an overwhelming experience and life changing process.

FAQ about Wide Nose Rhinoplasty in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the risks and how do I choose a safe surgeon for wide nose rhinoplasty in Thailand?

Wide nose rhinoplasty in Thailand carries risks like asymmetry, infection, breathing problems, and unwanted scarring. Choosing a surgeon certified by the Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand and operating in JCI-accredited hospitals like Bumrungrad International ensures higher safety and natural results.

  • Inpatient care: Full hospital stays with ICU reduce surgical risks.
  • Skill focus: Surgeons with 15+ years' experience in ethnic and wide nose cases are safer choices.
  • Clinic quality: JCI-accredited hospitals like Bangkok Hospital Pattaya enforce strict safety protocols.
  • Pre-op prep: Skin resurfacing improves results for thick, sebaceous skin types.
  • Emergency readiness: Hospitals with ICU manage anaesthesia and infection risks promptly.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s top hospitals serve hundreds of thousands annually and offer English-speaking coordinators. Clinics with JCI accreditation like Bumrungrad boast advanced ICU care and handle international cases well, which is crucial for Aussie patients relying on thorough emergency support after surgery.

Patient Consensus: Australians say major hospitals in Thailand provide the safest rhinoplasty care, with good communication and supportive staff. They warn against cheap clinics and note that surgeons experienced in wide noses deliver natural results without compromising breathing.

What surgical techniques are used for wide nose rhinoplasty in Thailand?

The main surgical techniques for wide nose rhinoplasty in Thailand include open and closed rhinoplasty, augmentation with implants or cartilage grafts, and bone shaving. Open rhinoplasty is often used for complex narrowing that reshapes bones and cartilage safely under general anaesthesia.

  • Open rhinoplasty: uses a transcolumellar incision for full cartilage and bone reshaping.
  • Closed rhinoplasty: hidden incisions inside nostrils for less complex cases.
  • Augmentation: implants or autologous cartilage raise the bridge and refine the tip.
  • Bone shaving: reductive technique to reduce nasal width, less commonly performed.
  • Hospitals like Bumrungrad offer ICU and JCI accreditation for safer complex surgery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics in Thailand mainly perform augmentation instead of reduction. Bone shaving and reductive rhinoplasty need open surgery and hospital ICU. Choosing large accredited hospitals like Bumrungrad ensures safer care with complex grafts and general anaesthesia, important for Australians abroad.

Patient Consensus: Patients say Thai surgeons favour implants to shape the nose over bone shaving. Open rhinoplasty is recommended only for more severe nose width. Many appreciate the hospital setting and safety care, which suits Australians needing detailed nasal reshaping.

How long should I stay in Thailand for recovery after wide nose rhinoplasty?

Patients should stay in Thailand for at least 10 to 14 days after wide nose rhinoplasty. This period allows for splint removal, swelling management, and follow-up checks before flying. The final nose shape settles over 6 to 12 months.

  • Minimum stay: 2 weeks for splint removal and initial healing.
  • Swelling reduction: critical within the first 1–2 weeks post-op.
  • Flying advice: recommended after 5–6 weeks post-surgery to avoid blood clots.
  • Sleeping posture: upright for 1 week, on back with head elevated for 2 weeks.
  • Choose clinics with intensive care units for emergency readiness.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Patients booking wide nose rhinoplasty at Bangkok’s Bumrungrad International Hospital or Sikarin Hospital benefit from JCI-accredited care with telemedicine follow-ups, making a 2-week stay safer and more supported. Flying later than 2 weeks reduces risks, but surgeons often require monitoring until splint removal at day 14.

Patient Consensus: Australians recovering in Thailand say 14 days is the sweet spot for splint removal and swelling care. They advise patience as the nose stays swollen for weeks, and flying too soon isn’t safe. Many recommend staying close to major hospitals with English-speaking staff.

What is the recovery process like after wide nose rhinoplasty in Thailand?

Recovery after wide nose rhinoplasty in Thailand involves wearing a splint for about two weeks, managing swelling and bruising that last 7–10 days, and avoiding activities that increase blood pressure. The final shape takes 6 to 18 months to fully settle, with follow-up care during a 2-week stay.

  • Splint removal: Typically around 2 weeks after surgery to support nose healing.
  • Bruising duration: Bruising under eyes and cheeks typically lasts 7–10 days.
  • Swelling and pressure: Significant swelling and tightness occur in the first 1–2 weeks.
  • Post-op care: Patients sleep mostly upright and avoid bending during early recovery.
  • Final shape timeline: Nose settles into final shape over 6 to 18 months or longer.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s top hospitals like Bumrungrad International offer post-op laser and deswelling treatments during a 2-week stay, crucial for smoothing swelling. Patients who plan this stay avoid early flights, which reduces risks such as blood clots after surgery. Experienced surgeons emphasise hospital-based care for safety and better outcomes.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand say the first two weeks feel tight and swollen but manageable. Many highlight easy communication with English-speaking staff and appreciate having post-op laser treatments included. Sleeping upright and careful nose protection made a big difference in their healing journey.

Which clinics and hospitals in Thailand offer wide nose rhinoplasty procedures?

Thailand offers wide nose rhinoplasty in major hospitals like Bumrungrad International Hospital and Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. These JCI-accredited facilities have surgeons experienced in nasal width reduction, including techniques to reshape and narrow broad noses. Bangkok and Pattaya are key cities for this procedure.

  • Bumrungrad International Hospital: JCI-accredited, 1,000,000+ patients yearly, ICU available.
  • Bangkok Hospital Pattaya: JCI and Temos accreditation, 400,000 patients per year, strong regional centre.
  • Sikarin Hospital: JCI and ISO certified, favoured by Australian patients.
  • Preecha Aesthetic Institute: Specialises in reconstructive and aesthetic nasal surgery.
  • Experienced surgeons: Seek those with skills in ‘Western nose’ reduction.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Aussie patients prefer large hospitals like Bumrungrad for their safety, ICU access, and proven expertise with broad noses. Smaller clinics often focus on nasal augmentation, so choosing a full hospital with emergency care is key for complex wide nose reductions. Bangkok dominates but Pattaya is rising as a trusted option.

Patient Consensus: Australians highlight Bumrungrad’s ability to handle broad nasal shapes well. Many recommend major hospitals with ICU instead of small clinics for this procedure in Thailand. Patients find the care reassuring, especially for general anaesthesia safety.
