My breathing is now even better than before
My biggest concern was that the result might look unnatural or that my breathing might be affected. Neither of these things happened. In fact, my breathing is now even better than before. During the open rhinoplasty, a small bump was removed and the bridge of my nose is now, even so soon after the procedure, already straighter, just as I wanted. In addition, the tip of my nose already looks much more defined. The staff and the surgeon were consistently supportive and answered all my questions patiently, which gave me a great deal of reassurance. I felt I was in good hands.
Very simple and straightforward

I'm still healing from my surgery but so far I'm very happy with the result and would recommend the hospital and clinic, and would like to reassure anyone going abroad that you'll be in good hands!
Had a rhinoplasty at B care hospital and the care the team provided was amazing. Just wanted to write this to reassure anyone looking into it, as my family were concerned about me heading out to Thailand to have the procedure as a lot of families would be. The hospital and clinic were sparkling clean. The co-ordinator, nurse and doctor were all just lovely and very attentive to my needs. There was no difficulty communicating with the doctor who went through exactly what would be done during the procedure. One thing I was happy about was the 2 nights in hospital - other places I looked at only gave you one night, or even home the same day. Being sleepy after the surgery, I wouldn't have wanted to go back to my accom the same day. I was grateful I had the lovely nurse Mariko looking after me. Also the room at the hospital was lovely - spacious and bright with a nice en suite and all the facilities you would need. I also realised I had tonsillitis on the day I left the hospital (I think I got it before I even had the surgery) and the team were very caring and made sure I had all the medications I needed for that too, before going back to my accommodation. I'm still healing from my surgery but so far I'm very happy with the result and would recommend the hospital and clinic, and would like to reassure anyone going abroad that you'll be in good hands! Bookimed were also really good at keeping in touch and my coordinator Marsela was patient while I took my time to decide if I was going to go ahead with the procedure in the first place, and was always there to answer any questions I had. All very much appreciated!

I'm very impressed with the outcome
I'm very impressed with the outcome. Bookimed assistant was helpful and arrange a virtual consultation with the consultant. While English was not his strong fort, his expertise made up for it. The staff, especially Margi was extremely valuable as she speaks fluently English. Her knowledge and expertise was well appreciated as well as her care and attentiveness. The staff was nice. I did rhinoplasty and liposuction and I'll very impressed with the outcome. Post op care was provided. The nose did not hurt post op in comparison with the liposuction, which was quite uncomfortable. Not painful, numb and tender I suppose. As to the cost, it's fairly competitive.
The expertise
More English speakers would have been nice.

The language needs to be improved for translation. The doctor needs to spend more time with clients explaining the procedures that will happen. The after care is very intermediate. Any issues raised is hard to explain because of the language difference. A staff are wonderful however I’m not sure about the qualifications felt like I was in an abattoir. Still waiting to see surgeon back in home country as cast taken off to soon and nose is out of shape . Rather concerned but I guess you get what you pay for
The staff are wonderful, but again, not sure about the qualification
Language communication with the consultation very poor and only seen us for three minutes. Photo of what I was expecting. Outcome doesn’t look anything like I specified. When raised with the surgeon was told once again with poor English that it was swelling and a nod of head that all is ok..
About Bookimed service
This is very far from what the photos and staff on booking IMED presented. It felt like a very rough area, hygiene had a lot to stand up for western standard , again staff are wonderful but the language barrier is unbearable when you are getting surgery and worries about certain things that just can’t be answered due to language barriers

I was assured of the professionalism of the doctor and staff and this made me felt more confident of the operation success
I always have doubts on surgery in Bangkok for safety and success level of each operation. However, during the whole process, I was assured of the professionalism of the doctor and staff and this made me felt more confident of the operation success.
1. The staff at the clinic were helpful most of the time, especially if you travel alone. They will provide some helpful insights before and after operation. 2. Operation was smooth in a clean and organized clinic.
1. Transport arrangement maybe limited as there is only one driver.

Everyone (doctors & staff) were incredibly attentive during my rhinoplasty procedure. I felt heard from the minute I had my consult to the minute I left after my final appointment. The staff were always available and my result was exactly what o wanted. Very very pleased
The doctor listened & the staff were extremely approachable and pro active. The facilities were clean, modern and I felt comfortable throughout.
There was nothing I didn’t like but I feel like a slightly better hotel would make the experience nicer although the staff there were lovely and the place was clean.

Thank you for your hospitality
I thought the level of service was exceptional from collecting the patient from the hotel to driving them back was a nice touch. Looking after the patient (me) to see if I was hungry or thirsty was fantastic service. All staff are great and respectful. Thank you for your hospitality.
When the bandages came off and saw my result for the first time.
A little more patience and empathy with the customer to understand stages as it’s an overwhelming experience and life changing process.

FAQ about Asian Rhinoplasty in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the common surgical techniques used for Asian Rhinoplasty in Thailand?

Asian rhinoplasty in Thailand focuses on bridge augmentation and tip refinement. Surgeons use silicone implants, ear cartilage, or rib grafts. Many use a hybrid approach. This combines synthetic bridge materials with autologous cartilage for a natural, projected tip. This method also helps prevent skin thinning.

  • Bridge augmentation: Uses medical-grade silicone or Gore-Tex to raise and define low nasal bridges.
  • Cartilage grafting: Ear or septal cartilage builds the tip for better projection and definition.
  • Open rhinoplasty: Recommended for complex structural changes or revisions needing a rib cartilage foundation.
  • Alar base reduction: Narrows wide nostrils to balance the face after bridge elevation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows a clear preference for specialised practitioners. Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic has performed 20,000+ procedures. Choosing a high-volume specialist is vital. They better understand the unique structural requirements of Asian nasal anatomy.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand often report that combining a silicone bridge with an ear cartilage tip looks natural. They suggest confirming the implant material early to match the desired aesthetic.

Who is considered a suitable candidate for Asian Rhinoplasty in Thailand?

Suitable candidates for Asian rhinoplasty in Thailand include healthy adults. They typically seek to refine features like a low bridge, undefined tip, or wide nostrils. Ideal patients prioritise subtle enhancement over dramatic Westernisation. They also have realistic expectations about facial harmony. Doctors at ID Clinic Bangkok and similar centres specialise in these refinements.

  • Structural enhancement candidates: Patients needing a higher nasal bridge often require specialised cartilage or rib grafting.
  • Tip refinement patients: Individuals with bulbous or asymmetrical tips benefit from techniques that narrow and reshape the nose.
  • Healthy non-smokers: Candidates must be in good physical health for proper healing and safety.
  • Ethnic harmony seekers: Suitable patients aim to improve proportions while preserving their natural ethnic characteristics.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Surgeons in Bangkok maintain high standards. Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic Bangkok alone has performed over 20,000+ procedures. This high volume means specialists have refined techniques for Asian nasal anatomy. Patients can save up to 88% compared to average Australian costs of $13,700.

Patient Consensus: Patients suggest choosing surgeons who regularly treat Asian anatomy. They also recommend checking before-and-after evidence. Most suggest planning a stay in Thailand to manage swelling and attend follow-up appointments.

How long do I need to stay in Thailand following Asian Rhinoplasty?

Most patients spend 10 to 14 days in Thailand after Asian rhinoplasty. This window allows surgeons to remove external splints and stitches. These are typically removed 7 to 10 days post-surgery. Specialists at Bangkok clinics like Wansiri Hospital or ID Clinic check patients are stable before long-haul flights.

  • Clinic reviews: Surgeons typically schedule follow-ups at days 3 and 7.
  • Splint removal: External nasal splints usually come off 7 days after surgery.
  • Flight safety: Staying 10+ days helps manage cabin pressure risks during flying.
  • Activity limits: Avoid swimming in pools or oceans for 3 weeks post-op.
  • Sun protection: Keep the nose shaded for 6 weeks to prevent discolouration.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic procedures cost from $900, stay duration depends on the technique. Dr. Palapong Chayangsu at BKFL Clinic emphasises that cartilage graft cases often require 14 full days. This ensures internal healing is stable enough for the pressure changes of an Australian flight.

Patient Consensus: Planning for 10 days allows the surgeon to perform a final review before patients leave Thailand. Many patients find it safer to stay 2 weeks for complex or revision cases.

What precautions should be taken to ensure a safe recovery from Asian Rhinoplasty in Thailand?

Safe recovery from Asian rhinoplasty in Thailand requires managing the tropical climate and the long-haul flight back to Australia. Patients must stay in air-conditioned environments and keep the head elevated for 14 days. Avoid flying for at least 7–14 days to prevent swelling and pressure complications.

  • Clinical hygiene: Clean incisions with prescribed solutions to prevent crusting.
  • Swelling control: Use cold compresses around the eyes for 20 minutes, 3 times daily.
  • Physical restrictions: Avoid blowing the nose or wearing heavy glasses for 4 weeks.
  • Activity limits: No strenuous exercise or heavy lifting for at least 4–6 weeks.
  • Infection prevention: Stay clear of saunas, hot tubs, and swimming for 4 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Coordination data shows many clinics offer quick turnarounds. However, choosing a facility like Wansiri Hospital helps patients recover in Clean Room standard environments. Their air filtration systems and touchless features are designed to reduce infection risks in Thailand's humid conditions.

Patient Consensus: Expect swelling to last beyond the first week. Plan for a slower healing period than anticipated. Patients recommend staying in serviced apartments near the clinic for easy access to follow-up care and meals.

Why would an Australian patient choose Thailand for Asian Rhinoplasty?

Australian patients choose Thailand for Asian rhinoplasty to access specialists who focus on specific nasal anatomy. This procedure typically costs from $900 to $2,400. This saves Australians up to 88% compared to the $13,700 average cost in Australia.

  • Anatomic expertise: Thai surgeons specialise in bridge augmentation and tip definition for Asian features.
  • Clinical volume: Surgeons like Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul have performed over 20,000 procedures.
  • Accredited facilities: Hospitals such as Bumrungrad and Sikarin hold accreditation from JCI (Joint Commission International).
  • Air quality standards: Clinics like Wansiri Hospital use HEPA filtration in operating theatres.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics often report high success rates due to surgical volume. ID Clinic Bangkok maintains a 95–96% success rate for rhinoplasty. This stems from surgeons performing thousands of similar cases annually. Most facilities also provide private VIP recovery suites for international patients.

Patient Consensus: Patients value how Thai surgeons refine their features while preserving ethnic identity. Australians often find the lower total trip cost and medical infrastructure very professional. Many enjoy the convenience of bundled accommodation and easy short-stay recovery plans in Bangkok.

What exactly is involved in an Asian Rhinoplasty procedure in Thailand?

Asian rhinoplasty in Thailand focuses on augmenting the nasal bridge and refining the tip. This preserves ethnic facial harmony. Surgeons typically use silicone implants or ear and rib cartilage to increase height. Procedures in Bangkok often include 3D planning and recovery at JCI-accredited facilities.

  • Augmentation technique: Surgeons use medical-grade silicone or rib cartilage to elevate low, flat nasal bridges.
  • Tip refinement: Specialists reshape wide tips using cartilage grafts for better structural support.
  • Safety standards: Leading hospitals like Wansiri Hospital use HEPA air filtration and touchless systems.
  • Expert volume: Surgeons like Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul have performed over 20,000 procedures at ID Clinic.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics show a significant expertise gap. Surgeons there often perform 10 times more rhinoplasties than their Western counterparts. While prices range from $900 to $2,400, the real value lies in the 24-hour monitoring and VIP suites at hospitals like Lelux.

Patient Consensus: Consultation involves detailed 3D planning to balance the bridge and nostrils with the face. Patients should confirm how many follow-up days they need before flying home.
