Patient Review: Exceptional Knee Surgery in Istanbul with Professor Gemalmaz After facing a long wait for knee surgery under the NHS in the UK, where I was looking at either a partial or full implant, I decided to explore other options. His exceptional surgical skill was matched only by his consideration and kindness; he visited me every single day in the hospital and frequently checked on me at my hotel. This is important because my father was very worried and doubtful, but after the first meeting with the doctor he was completely reassured. All pre-operative investigations were organised quickly. If a friend asked me about this, I'd tell them the difference is night and day. My knee feels so much better than it did before the surgery, with much less pain. Of course, recovery isn't instant. The biggest challenge for me right now is some morning stiffness, but once I get moving it improves. The clinic staff and surgeon were professional and answered all my questions about the full replacement, which included the kneecap and a Smith & Nephew implant. I can already bend my knee past 90 degrees easily. It was the right decision.
