The anesthesiologist never spoke to me personally although I had concerns about general anesthesia. I was feeling sick and sleepy after surgery, so I was not able to ask for cold packs to minimize swelling and bruising till hours later. I think the nursing staff should have initiated it, or at least offered the cold packs. I had significant swelling and bruising for several days. I looked frightening the first week, so much so that I couldn't use 'face recognition' app. I still don't like 'the new look' of my face. Feel like it has been pulled too tight. And the extra folds of the eyelids which was the reason I wanted corrective surgery, are still present and not improved.
About Bookimed service
Mixed experience. Overall good service, but surgical outcome has been less favorable than I was hoping for (2 months later).

I enjoyed my experience, due to staff being friendly and understanding
I enjoyed my experience, due to staff being friendly and understanding . I felt very comfortable and understood. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone. I got lipo and a BBL done, so as you can imagine that was quite scary. But the medical team are very calm and reassuring.

My only issue was the availability of staff after my surgery. I was placed in a room and was only checked on once during my 3 hours recovery. I had to call a nurse to ask if I could discharged.I was fortunate that my husband was with me.

FAQ about Fox Eye Lift in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What is a Fox Eye Lift (Cat Eye Lift) in Thailand?

A Fox Eye Lift in Thailand is a cosmetic procedure that lifts the outer eye corners and brow tail. This creates an almond-shaped, elongated look. Clinics use surgical canthoplasty or minimally invasive thread lifts to achieve this appearance. These procedures often save Australian patients up to 79% compared to local costs.

  • Technique variety: Options include surgical blepharoplasty, canthoplasty, or Korean non-surgical thread lifting.
  • Expert surgeons: Specialists like Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj have performed 15,000+ plastic surgery procedures.
  • Specialised technology: Centres like Dr Chen Surgery Hospital use Swiss 3D facial scanning for planning.
  • Recovery support: Premium facilities offer hyperbaric oxygen and light therapy to reduce swelling quickly.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bookimed data shows Thailand is a top global destination for eye surgery, ranking second worldwide. Experienced surgeons like Dr Narongdej Jiarapeepan at Wansiri Hospital trained in Melbourne, Australia. This makes them highly familiar with Western aesthetic standards and anatomical preferences.

Patient Consensus: Fox Eye is a marketing term covering several techniques. Always confirm if the clinic plans surgery or temporary threads. Results in Thailand look best when patients discuss conservative goals to avoid overcorrection.

What are the key differences between surgical and thread lifting for a Fox Eye Lift in Thailand?

Surgical Fox Eye Lifts in Thailand offer permanent results by repositioning tendons or trimming skin. Thread lifts provide a temporary, non-surgical alternative using dissolvable PDO or COG threads. Surgery requires weeks of recovery. In contrast, threads allow patients to return to daily activities within 1 to 2 days.

  • Surgical longevity: Provides permanent reshaping of the eye contour through canthoplasty or canthopexy techniques.
  • Thread longevity: Results typically last 12–18 months as threads eventually dissolve into the tissue.
  • Downtime: Surgery needs 1–2 weeks for swelling to subside; threads require only 24–48 hours.
  • Ideal results: Surgery suits significant skin laxity; threads act as a subtle "social media" trial.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Surgeons at top Bangkok clinics often recommend threads for younger patients. Dr Chen Chaichanchip at Dr. Chen Clinic specialises in Korean non-surgical lifting for this reason. However, patients with heavier brow tissue usually require surgery at Asia Cosmetic Hospital for lasting results.

Patient Consensus: Many find threads are a great way to test the look before committing to surgery. Patients note that surgical results are more predictable. However, threads help avoid the risk of a permanently overdone appearance.

Who is considered a suitable candidate for a Fox Eye Lift in Thailand?

A suitable candidate for a fox eye lift in Thailand is a healthy adult seeking an almond-shaped, elongated eye appearance. Ideal candidates often include younger patients with naturally drooping outer corners. Individuals over 35 wanting to correct sagging are also good candidates. Successful cases require realistic expectations regarding eyelid anatomy and skin elasticity.

  • Aesthetic goals: Candidates wanting to lift and elongate the outer eye for a fox-like look.
  • Physical health: Must be non-smokers in good health without dry eye or thyroid issues.
  • Anatomical suitability: Best results occur in patients with sufficient skin elasticity and minimal previous scarring.
  • Procedure choice: Suitable for those choosing between temporary thread lifts or permanent surgical blepharoplasty techniques.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Dr. Chen Surgery Hospital use Swiss 3D facial scanning to help candidates visualise results pre-surgery. This technology is vital because fox eye outcomes depend heavily on individual bone structure. Seeing a digital model prevents over-correction. It also ensures the final look fits the patient’s unique facial proportions.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand recommend bringing reference photos to consultations. This helps make sure the surgeon understands the desired lift. Many suggest starting with thread-based options to test the look before committing to permanent surgical changes.
