When friends ask if I would suggest this clinic to them, my answer is a 10
My biggest worry was finding a surgeon and team I could completely trust for this personal procedure. That concern disappeared quickly. From the first consultation, the surgeon was professional and the staff were consistently kind, which made the whole process feel secure and well-managed. I'm still in the early stages of healing, but the level of care has been excellent. Everything was clear. When friends ask if I would suggest this clinic to them, my answer is a 10. The support has been fantastic.
Coordinator stayed in touch .The clinic exceeded expectations.I wanted to thank Dr. Baris Nuhoglu and his assistant, who took impeccable care of me. They listened to me and resolved a problem that was very serious and causing me discomfort. On May 19th, they gave me a new birth with professionalism, seriousness, and empathy.I have e big gratitude and deep respect to Dr. Baris and his team, and I wish to return in a few months for a check-up and, who knows, maybe for another new treatment.😁😉👍

The surgeon and all the staff at the clinic were highly professional and competent throughout my experience
My biggest concern before the operation was the recovery period, but now, 15 days after the prosthetic testicle implant surgery, I can say that things are going as expected. I received a small prosthesis measuring 3.5 cm; although I’m not sure of the brand, I’m satisfied with it. The surgeon and all the staff at the clinic were highly professional and competent throughout my experience. Everything went well. The recovery period is going well and without any problems so far.
The service was excellent, and the check-in and check-out were a real treat
No, I'm happy with the service and the performance

FAQ about Removal of testicle tumor in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What is the primary surgical procedure for removing a testicular tumour in Turkey?

Radical inguinal orchiectomy is the primary surgical procedure for removing testicular tumours in Turkey. Surgeons make an incision in the groin to remove the affected testicle and spermatic cord. This inguinal approach is the gold standard. It prevents cancer cells from spreading to scrotal lymphatic channels.

  • Groin incision: Prevents cancer seeding by avoiding the scrotum during the surgical removal.
  • Dual purpose: The procedure serves as both the definitive treatment and a diagnostic biopsy.
  • Prosthetic options: Specialists like Dr Tolga Akman often place silicone implants for cosmetic restoration.
  • Expert specialists: Urological oncologists like Dr Ilker Tinay perform these surgeries at JCI-accredited centres.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Basic orchiectomy starts from $3,700. However, comprehensive oncology centres in Istanbul often bundle pathology and staging scans. Choosing hospitals with JCI accreditation means surgeons follow international NCCN guidelines for cancer care. This matters because precise staging determines if further treatment like RPLND is required.

Patient Consensus: Patients report the procedure is performed via an incision just below the belt line. Complete removal is standard in Turkey because partial biopsies carry too much risk. The process is straightforward and focuses on preventing cancer cells from spreading further.

Can a testicular prosthesis be inserted during the same surgery for testicular tumour removal in Turkey?

Testicular prosthesis insertion is routinely performed during the same surgery as tumour removal in Turkey. Specialists typically place the silicone implant during the radical inguinal orchiectomy. This combined approach saves patients from a second procedure. It also maintains high safety standards at JCI-accredited facilities in Istanbul and Antalya.

  • Surgical approach: Surgeons use the same groin incision to remove the tumour and insert the prosthesis.
  • Safety profile: Immediate placement is standard unless infection risks or intensive radiation therapies require a delay.
  • Combined costs: Procedure prices in Turkey range from $4,500 to $7,500 for the full surgery.
  • Specialist expertise: Professors like Dr Tolga Akman specialise in both uro-oncology and prosthetic implantation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish urological centres often bundle the prosthesis cost with the oncology surgery. Choosing a specialist like Dr Cevper Ersoz, a Fellow of the European Board of Urology, means your reconstruction meets international oncological guidelines. It also saves you up to 7039% compared to Australian private rates.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey prefer same-day placement to avoid multiple operations. Many report that the prosthesis feels identical to a natural testicle. It also causes no long-term issues.

What is the typical timeline and recovery process when traveling to Turkey for testicular tumour removal?

Patients travelling to Turkey for testicular tumour removal typically stay for 7 to 10 days. This timeframe covers the 1-hour surgery and overnight stay. It also includes the 5-day wait for pathology results. Recovery involves 3 to 7 days of restricted movement. This is followed by 4 to 6 weeks of light activity.

  • Pre-travel preparation: Specialists review scans and blood tests virtually to confirm the surgical approach.
  • Hospital stay: Most patients undergo orchiectomy under general anaesthesia and stay overnight for monitoring.
  • Pathology timeline: Laboratory results and tumour markers usually take 5 to 7 days to process.
  • Physical restrictions: Heavy lifting and strenuous exercise are strictly avoided for 4 to 6 weeks.
  • Travel clearance: Surgeons provide a fit-to-fly certificate once the incision is stable and healing.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many patients overlook that testicular prosthesis implantation can be done during the initial tumour removal. Experienced surgeons like Dr Tolga Akman specialise in this combined approach. It avoids a second surgery later. Typically, it does not extend the 7 to 10-day stay in Turkey.

Patient Consensus: The first 3 days in Turkey are the most awkward for moving or sitting. Most people stop pain medication by day 3. They walk normally by day 7 before flying home.

Are comprehensive medical tourism packages available for testicular tumour removal in Turkey?

Comprehensive medical tourism packages for testicular tumour removal in Turkey are widely available. JCI-accredited hospitals in Istanbul and Antalya offer these bundles. They typically cover radical orchiectomy, pre-operative staging scans, hospital stays, VIP transfers, and translation services. Leading centres often include robotic-assisted surgery options for precise treatment.

  • Procedure costs: Tumour removal ranges from $4,500 to $7,500 at accredited facilities.
  • Clinical inclusions: Packages cover surgical fees, anaesthesia, pathology reviews, and 1–2 nights in hospital.
  • Logistics support: Patients receive airport-to-hotel transfers and access to multilingual coordinators during recovery.
  • Surgical expertise: Surgeons like Dr Ilker Tinay perform robotic-assisted procedures using the da Vinci system.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics offer a standard orchiectomy from $3,700. However, top-tier hospitals like Anadolu Medical Center provide added security through Johns Hopkins affiliations. Choosing these university-linked facilities helps make sure your pathology reports meet international standards. This is vital for planning further oncology treatment back in Australia.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey report smooth logistics with staff guiding them through tests and scans. Most find private hospitals have fluent English-speaking teams and provide clear pathology reports before departure.
