How Much Does Testicular prosthesis Cost in Thailand in AUD?

Testicular prosthesis in Thailand typically costs from AUD $2,611 / ฿A88,778 to AUD $3,772 / ฿A128,234. Prices depend on the implant material, surgical complexity, and the specific medical centre. Australians save around 71% compared to local private costs of approximately AUD $11,025 / ฿A374,839 on average. Standard packages generally include the silicone or saline device, surgeon fees, anaesthesia, and follow-up consultations in Bangkok.

  • Medical-grade silicone: Premium implants like those from Boston Scientific often add 20–30% to base costs.
  • Bilateral procedures: Placing two prostheses increases the surgical fee and device costs significantly.
  • Anatomical shaping: Custom-shaped implants typically cost more than standard oval-shaped options for a natural look.
  • Scrotal reconstruction: Additional procedures like scrotalplasty for complex cases will increase the total package price.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a specialised facility like Menness Wellness Clinic offers excellent value. Their packages start around A$5,500 and include a board-certified urologist from Mahidol University. For those seeking hospital-grade infrastructure, Bumrungrad International Hospital is accredited by JCI and GHA. While premium hospitals may charge more, they provide access to over 1,300 specialists in Bangkok.

"I was extremely satisfied with everything that happened to me at this wonderful hospital"
I was extremely satisfied with everything that happened to me at this wonderful hospital. I don't think that there is a hospital in Asia which can compare with this one. From the doctors to the nurses and all other personell in this hospital ALL are competent, very polite and friendly - the only small criticism that I have is that unfortunately many don't speak English very well, that's a great shame.

I am very happy with the treatment I've so far received at Bumrungrad International Hospital. Beginning last year, I've made three separate visits for treatment at the hospital. The staff are extremely professional and efficient using very modern equipment. The cost of treatment is competitive. I would strongly recommend it to other people looking for medical care.

FAQ about Testicular prosthesis in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Does a testicular implant in Thailand affect erections or testosterone production?

A testicular implant has no biological impact on erectile function or testosterone production. These medical-grade silicone devices are cosmetic. They rest inside the scrotal sac without involving the penis or hormonal pathways. The procedure preserves existing nerve and blood vessel function for normal sexual activity.

  • Hormonal stability: Implants cannot produce testosterone but do not hinder the remaining testicle.
  • Erectile function: Surgery does not alter blood vessels or nerves responsible for erections.
  • Outpatient care: Clinics like Menness Wellness provide this as a same-day procedure.
  • Specialist expertise: Surgeons such as Dr Nuttaphon Luchaichana specialise in reconstructive urologic procedures.
  • Sexual activity: Surgeons typically advise waiting 3–4 weeks before resuming sexual intercourse.

Bookimed Expert Insight: A testicular prosthesis averages $1,800 in Thailand. This saves Australians 56% compared to local prices. The real value is in the outpatient nature of the surgery. Most patients require 0 days of hospital stay. This allows for a shorter, more discreet stay in Bangkok.

What is the typical recovery process for a testicular prosthesis procedure in Thailand?

Full recovery from a testicular prosthesis procedure in Thailand takes 4 to 6 weeks. Patients should plan a 7 to 10 day stay in Bangkok for monitoring. Most resume light desk work within 4 days. Strenuous activity and intimacy require clearance after 4 weeks.

  • Immediate care: The procedure is often outpatient or requires a single night in hospital.
  • Initial recovery: Expect mild swelling, bruising, and soreness during the first 3 days.
  • Supportive measures: Wear tight briefs or compression garments to manage swelling and discomfort.
  • Activity limits: Avoid heavy lifting, running, and cycling for at least 4 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics like Menness Wellness Clinic often perform this as an outpatient procedure. This allows patients to recover in comfortable hotel settings sooner. Specialists like Dr Nuttaphon Luchaichana use minimally invasive techniques that help speed up initial healing.

Patient Consensus: Expect several days of soreness and visible swelling in the scrotal area. Patients found that using supportive underwear early on significantly reduces discomfort.

How long do patients need to stay in Thailand after a testicular implant procedure?

Patients should plan to stay in Thailand for 7 to 10 days after a testicular implant procedure. This window allows for wound monitoring and a follow-up visit with a urologist. They will provide a Fit to Fly certificate for safe travel back to Australia.

  • Hospital stay: Most clinics in Bangkok perform this as a same-day outpatient procedure.
  • Initial recovery: Expect local swelling and bruising for the first 3 to 6 days.
  • Travel clearance: Surgeons typically conduct a follow-up check around day 7 post-op.
  • Activity restrictions: Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous workouts for at least 4 to 6 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: The surgery is a quick day procedure. However, the 10-day stay is vital for more than just healing. Large centres like Bumrungrad International Hospital serve over 500,000 international patients yearly. They follow strict JCI protocols. These protocols involve monitoring the implant's position during the first week. This helps prevent displacement before the flight home.

What kind of prosthetic materials are used for testicular implants in Thailand?

Testicular implants in Thailand primarily consist of medical-grade silicone shells filled with cohesive silicone gel. Specialists like Menness Wellness Clinic use these materials to replicate the natural weight of a native testicle. These materials also provide long-term durability and safety for patients.

  • Silicone gel implants: These feature a soft gel-filled shell that mimics natural tissue movement.
  • Solid silicone options: Highly durable moulded rubber alternatives that eliminate risks of leakage.
  • Saline-filled shells: Silicone elastomers filled with sterile salt water for a firmer feel.
  • Specialised gel polymers: Materials like HydroCone are used for gender-affirming scrotal reconstruction.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai urologists like Dr Nuttaphon Luchaichana often prefer cohesive gel implants. These maintain their shape without deflating. While the procedure often costs between $1,800 and $2,600, patients should prioritise clinics like Bumrungrad International. This clinic holds JCI accreditation for safety.

Patient Consensus: Men visiting Thailand often find that surgeons focus on matching the implant size. They also match the feel to the remaining testicle. Patients recommend confirming the specific brand and warranty details with the clinic before arriving.

Will a testicular prosthesis in Thailand look and feel natural?

Testicular prostheses in Thailand look highly realistic. Surgeons use precise sizing matrices to match existing anatomy. While the visual symmetry is excellent, the implant generally feels firmer than biological tissue. Medical-grade silicone and saline models provide natural weight and movement.

  • Symmetry matching: Surgeons match the implant length and width to the remaining testicle.
  • Fixation tabs: Implants feature tabs for anchoring to prevent unnatural upward migration.
  • Material choice: Soft solid silicone gel typically offers a more natural, squishy texture.
  • Settle time: Scrotal tissue takes 3 to 6 months to relax into a natural position.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows that private clinics like Menness Wellness Clinic often perform this as a day procedure. This means patients stay 0 days in hospital. Dr. Nuttaphon Luchaichana, a Thailand Board-certified urologist, emphasises that choosing a urologist from a top-tier teaching hospital leads to higher precision.

Patient Consensus: The prosthesis looks natural in clothing and significantly improves body image and symmetry. Most patients find the look and feel improves as swelling subsides.

Can international patients combine a testicular prosthesis procedure in Thailand with other surgeries?

International patients in Thailand often combine testicular prosthesis placement with other urological, cosmetic, or gender-affirming surgeries. This helps maximise travel value. Leading facilities in Bangkok and Phuket bundle procedures like orchiectomy or scrotoplasty. This approach consolidates recovery time and reduces total anaesthesia costs.

  • Common pairings: Often performed alongside orchiectomy, which costs from $3,500 to $6,000.
  • Male enhancement: Surgeons frequently bundle implants with scrotal reshaping or penile prosthesis surgery.
  • Gender-affirming stages: Placement is a standard part of staging for phalloplasty or metoidioplasty.
  • Minor aesthetics: Some combine urological work with rhinoplasty if surgical sites do not interfere.
  • Safety limits: Doctors restrict total theatre time to manage anaesthesia and infection risks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Board-certified urologists like Dr Nuttaphon Luchaichana at Menness Wellness Clinic specialise in complex scrotal reconstructions. Single implants often allow travel within 3 to 5 days. However, combined surgeries typically require a 7 to 14-day stay. This ensures wound healing before the flight back to Australia.

Patient Consensus: Check if the surgeon uses the same anaesthetic for both procedures. Confirm the clinic has specialised equipment for every surgery type. Arrange telehealth follow-up before leaving Thailand.

What is typically included in a Thai medical tourism package for a testicular implant?

Thai medical tourism packages for a testicular prosthesis generally include the silicone implant and surgical fees. They also cover local anaesthesia and a specialist urologist consultation. Most Bangkok procedures are outpatient surgeries, meaning the package covers care without an overnight stay.

  • Surgical inclusions: Covers operating theatre charges, nursing staff, and medical-grade silicone implants.
  • Professional fees: Includes fees for board-certified urologists, such as Dr Nuttaphon Luchaichana at Menness Wellness Clinic.
  • Diagnostic tests: Basic pre-operative blood work and scrotal examinations are typically bundled.
  • Post-operative support: Packages usually provide essential medications and at least one in-person follow-up visit.
  • International coordination: Clinics like Bumrungrad International Hospital provide English-speaking staff and logistical support.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many global packages include transfers. However, Thai urology clinics offer competitive base prices from $1,800 by removing transport. Patients should check if quotes include airport pickups or separate A$50–A$100 add-ons.

Patient Consensus: Patients find the process efficient. Clinics handle all paperwork and provide clear instructions for home care. Confirming the silicone brand and size in writing before travel maintains transparency.
