What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it
What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it. My biggest fear was not understanding the treatment plan or feeling rushed, but that wasn’t the case at all. The dentist was very patient and took the time to explain each step to me in detail. It was reassuring. The overall organisation ran smoothly and the whole clinic team were professional and happy to answer my questions. Coordination via Bookimed simplified the whole process, which helped reduce the stress of having a medical appointment abroad. I left with clear information and a good overall impression.

I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism
Hello everyone, like many other people before an operation, I wasn't feeling very well. The staff at the clinic immediately reassured and accompanied me. Believe me or not, I didn't feel a thing. The dental surgeon fitted the 2 implants in 40 minutes, and I had no infections whatsoever. My Bookimed advisor (Péguy) was with me from the start and is still with me today. I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism. Sylvain B.

The wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care
It is a clean hospital and the wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care. The dentist and dental personnel can speak fluent English which is important for most people like I. For wisdom teeth extraction the cost was 20000 baht for 4 teeth( including medication and nurse charge), but it all depends if the teeth has impacted. I would highly recommend the clinic.

FAQ about Zygomatic All-on-2 implants in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is it safe to get Zygomatic All-on-2 implants in Thailand?

Zygomatic All-on-2 implants in Thailand are safe when performed by specialist oral surgeons in JCI-accredited facilities. Leading Bangkok clinics use 3D-guided surgery and premium brands like Straumann or Nobel Biocare. These complex procedures address severe bone loss by anchoring implants into the cheekbone rather than the jaw.

  • Specialist expertise: Surgeons at Bangkok Dental Hospital specialise in NobelPerfect and zygomatic reconstruction.
  • Digital technology: Centres like BIDC use in-house digital labs and Digital Smile Design.
  • Quality standards: Clinics maintain ISO certifications and use HEPA-filtered negative pressure rooms.
  • Australian relevance: Providers like SmileBox Dental Clinic routinely treat patients from Australia with international-standard materials.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many clinics offer standard implants, only a few specialise in zygomatic All-on-2 protocols. Data shows that 20,000+ patients annually visit top-tier Bangkok networks like Bangkok Smile Dental Clinic. Choosing these high-volume centres helps ensure the surgical team has handled hundreds of complex bone-loss cases.

Patient Consensus: Success in Thailand depends on choosing surgeons with documented zygomatic experience. Patients recommend confirming 3D planning is used. They also suggest securing a written aftercare plan for when they return home.

Do I need a bone graft for Zygomatic All-on-2 implants in Thailand?

Patients rarely require a bone graft for Zygomatic All-on-2 implants in Thailand. Surgeons anchor these specialised implants into the cheekbone rather than the jawbone. This skips traditional grafting or sinus lifts. It is an ideal option for severe bone loss in the upper jaw.

  • Cheekbone anchorage: Implants attach to the dense zygoma bone, bypassing thin or missing jawbone.
  • No sinus lifts: This technique naturally avoids the sinus cavity, removing the need for lifts.
  • Immediate results: Clinics like Dental Smile Pattaya often fit temporary teeth within 72 hours.
  • Success rates: Specialists in Thailand maintain high success rates between 95% and 98%.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Zygoma implants avoid massive grafts. However, some surgeons suggest minor adjunct grafts for gum volume. Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC) uses JCI-accredited workflows to determine this. Check if your plan uses original Straumann or Nobel materials for long-term stability.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand recommend a CBCT scan review before flying to confirm any minor graft needs. They suggest getting all inclusions like temporaries and follow-up care in writing first.

What are Zygomatic All-on-2 implants in the context of dental surgery?

Zygomatic All-on-2 implants are dental anchors used when the upper jaw lacks bone for standard implants. Surgeons secure these longer implants directly into the dense zygomatic bone, or cheekbone. This technique creates a stable foundation for a full-arch prosthesis. It does not require bone grafting or sinus lifts.

  • Primary application: Used for patients with severe upper jaw atrophy or previous implant failures.
  • Anchorage point: Implants bypass the jawbone to anchor into the stable cheekbone structure.
  • Surgical expertise: Requires a specialist oral surgeon due to the proximity to sinuses.
  • Treatment speed: Allows for immediate loading of fixed teeth, often within 1–7 days.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Most clinics promote All-on-4. However, high-volume Bangkok centres like Bangkok Dental Hospital offer specific Zygoma options for complex cases. Data shows these clinics often use original Straumann or NobelPerfect materials. This means Australian patients receive globally recognised components for easier long-term maintenance back home.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand describe this as a major surgical procedure. They highlight the importance of planning for facial swelling. Most appreciate receiving fixed teeth quickly. They also advise confirming whether the plan is a true zygomatic or a hybrid approach.

What is the procedure process for Zygomatic All-on-2 implants in Thailand?

Zygomatic All-on-2 implants in Thailand follow a surgical process for patients with severe jaw bone loss. Specialists place two zygomatic implants into the cheekbones. This provides stable anchorage without bone grafts. The procedure includes 3D imaging and surgical placement under anaesthesia. Patients receive an immediate temporary bridge within 48 hours.

  • Diagnostic phase: Surgeons use CBCT 3D scans to map bone structures and sinus anatomy.
  • Surgical placement: Specialists insert implants into the zygomatic bone during a 2–3 hour session.
  • Prosthetic loading: Clinics like Dental Smile Pattaya often provide permanent teeth within 5–7 days.
  • Materials used: Top clinics use original Straumann or Nobel Biocare materials for long-term stability.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many international clinics require two separate trips months apart. However, several Bangkok-based centres use in-house laboratories to speed up the process. Some facilities can deliver the final bridge in a single 7-day visit. This reducing travel costs for Australian patients compared to traditional protocols.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand report feeling prepared after detailed 3D scans and written plans. Many highlight the convenience of on-site labs. These allow for quick adjustments to temporary teeth before flying home.

How long should I plan to stay in Thailand for Zygomatic All-on-2 implants?

Patients should plan for 10–14 days in Thailand for the first phase of Zygomatic All-on-2 implants. This timeframe covers the surgical placement into the cheekbone and initial healing. A second visit of 7–10 days is typically required 3–6 months later for final bridge fitting.

  • Surgical phase: Most clinics require 10–14 days for surgery, initial recovery, and mandatory post-operative reviews.
  • Healing buffer: Swelling usually peaks on days 3–4. A longer stay is essential for comfort.
  • Immediate loading: Some Pattaya clinics deliver new permanent teeth within 5–7 days after surgery.
  • Second trip: Patients return after 3–6 months for 7–10 days to fit the final bridge.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Standard All-on-4 patients often look for 7-day windows, but zygomatic cases are more invasive. Data from JCI-accredited centres like BIDC shows that having an in-house lab is critical. This allows specialists to adjust the heavy-duty prosthesis on-site, preventing an extended third trip.

Patient Consensus: Travellers to Thailand recommend booking flexible return flights. Recovery from zygomatic surgery feels more intense than standard implants. Most suggest staying near the clinic to manage post-op fatigue and dietary changes comfortably.
