How Much Does All-on-2 Dental Implants Cost in Thailand in AUD?

All-on-2 dental implants in Thailand typically cost from AUD $1,451 / ฿A49,321 to AUD $6,093 / ฿A207,148. The final price depends on the chosen implant brand, the prosthetic material, and the city hub. In Australia, similar procedures average around AUD $15,231 / ฿A517,869, meaning patients save approximately 75% by travelling to Thailand. Most Thai dental packages include diagnostic 3D CT scans, titanium implant posts, and follow-up care.

  • Premium implant brands: Choosing Straumann or Nobel Biocare typically increases costs by 20–30%.
  • Zygomatic All-on-2: This specialised approach for severe bone loss usually carries a price premium.
  • Prosthetic materials: Upgrading from standard acrylic to durable zirconia prosthetics adds to the total.
  • Regional variations: Chiang Mai clinics often provide additional savings of 10–15% compared to Bangkok.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While Bangkok hubs like Bangkok International Dental Center serve 20,000 global patients annually, choosing a Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited hospital remains the smartest move for Australians. Larger institutions like Bangkok International Dental Hospital (BIDH) use hospital-grade sterilisation that exceeds standard clinic requirements. High-volume centres often provide original Straumann materials, which is vital for long-term maintenance and parts availability once you return to Australia.

What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it
What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it. My biggest fear was not understanding the treatment plan or feeling rushed, but that wasn’t the case at all. The dentist was very patient and took the time to explain each step to me in detail. It was reassuring. The overall organisation ran smoothly and the whole clinic team were professional and happy to answer my questions. Coordination via Bookimed simplified the whole process, which helped reduce the stress of having a medical appointment abroad. I left with clear information and a good overall impression.

I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism
Hello everyone, like many other people before an operation, I wasn't feeling very well. The staff at the clinic immediately reassured and accompanied me. Believe me or not, I didn't feel a thing. The dental surgeon fitted the 2 implants in 40 minutes, and I had no infections whatsoever. My Bookimed advisor (Péguy) was with me from the start and is still with me today. I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism. Sylvain B.

The wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care
It is a clean hospital and the wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care. The dentist and dental personnel can speak fluent English which is important for most people like I. For wisdom teeth extraction the cost was 20000 baht for 4 teeth( including medication and nurse charge), but it all depends if the teeth has impacted. I would highly recommend the clinic.

FAQ about All-on-2 Dental Implants in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

How safe are All-on-2 dental implant procedures in Thailand?

All-on-2 dental implants in Thailand are safe when American Board-certified prosthodontists perform them in JCI-accredited facilities. Success relies on hospital-grade sterilisation and original materials from brands like Straumann. Leading Bangkok centres treat 15,000+ patients annually using protocols for full-arch rehabilitation and intravenous sedation.

  • Accredited facilities: Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC) maintains hospital-grade JCI and ISO standards.
  • Expert specialists: Surgeons like Dr Tarin Piangsuk hold American Board of Prosthodontics certification.
  • Premium materials: Top clinics use original Straumann titanium implants and Ivoclar Vivadent restorations.
  • Digital technology: Centres use in-house laboratories and digital workflows for precise implant placement.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While All-on-2 is cost-effective, Thai specialists often recommend 3D bone densitometry first. Because two implants bear the entire bite load, bone quality is critical. Clinics like Bangkok International Dental Hospital (BIDH) provide hospital-based safety that smaller clinics cannot match.

Patient Consensus: Patients find the experience efficient but suggest budgeting for bone grafting and additional scans. Ask your Australian dentist to review the plan beforehand to help manage long-term aftercare.

Will I experience pain during my All-on-2 dental implant surgery in Thailand?

All-on-2 dental implant surgery in Thailand is typically pain-free. Specialists use local anaesthesia to numb the treated area. Patients usually feel pressure or vibrations rather than sharp pain during the procedure. Leading Bangkok centres also offer IV sedation or general anaesthesia for anxious patients.

  • Pain management: Licensed anaesthetists and registered nurses monitor comfort throughout the procedure.
  • Sedation options: Clinics like Bangkok International Dental Hospital offer sleep dentistry for deeper relaxation.
  • Anaesthetic types: Surgeons verify complete numbness before starting implant placement.
  • Post-op comfort: Prescribed analgesics and anti-inflammatories manage normal swelling and jaw soreness.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bookimed data shows that JCI-accredited clinics in Bangkok maintain hospital-level safety standards. Specialists like Dr Tarin Piangsuk at Chiangmai International Dental Clinic are US board-certified prosthodontists. This American-standard training allows for precise placement. This naturally reduces inflammation and discomfort after the surgery.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand describe the surgery as a series of tugs and vibrations. Most felt mild aching and bruising afterward. This was easily managed with clinic-provided medications.

What exactly are All-on-2 dental implants?

All-on-2 dental implants are a full-arch restoration where two implants support a set of teeth. This specialised approach serves patients with limited bone density in Thailand. It helps those who cannot support four or six implants without bone grafting.

  • Foundation points: Two implants are placed in the front jaw to support a prosthesis.
  • Clinical purpose: This technique is an alternative for patients with low bone volume.
  • Specific materials: Thai centres use titanium-zirconium implants and original Straumann or Ivoclar Vivadent components.
  • Surgical expertise: Specialist prosthodontists manage bite alignment to prevent the arch from rocking.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Bangkok International Dental Center employ American Board-certified prosthodontists. Data shows these centres perform thousands of full-mouth rehabilitations annually. Patients should check if the final arch is fixed or a removable overdenture. In many international settings, "All-on-2" often refers to implant-supported overdentures.

Patient Consensus: Patients should confirm the timeline for final teeth and discuss bite stability. Those in Thailand recommend getting a written plan for Australian follow-up. This plan should list all inclusions like extractions.

Do I need to remove my All-on-2 dentures after the procedure in Thailand?

All-on-2 dental implants in Thailand typically use a removable snap-on overdenture. Patients remove these dentures daily for cleaning and at night. While All-on-4 systems are usually fixed, All-on-2 protocols remain patient-removable. This system still provides a stable, implant-supported fit.

  • Attachment mechanism: Dentures securely snap onto two implants using locators or a ball-retained system.
  • Daily maintenance: Patients must remove the prosthesis twice daily to clean the underlying implants.
  • Provisional teeth: Clinics often provide temporary removable dentures during the 2–6 month healing phase.
  • Nightly routine: Removing the overdenture at night helps prevent gum inflammation and protects implants.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many Bangkok clinics, such as Bangkok International Dental Center, offer All-on-2 options. It is a budget-friendly alternative to All-on-4. While All-on-4 averages $1,000, All-on-2 costs significantly less. This system suits patients with lower bone density who want more stability.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand often receive temporary snap-on teeth immediately after surgery. They find the removable design easier to keep clean during the healing journey.

Why do many Australians choose Thailand for All-on-2 dental implants?

Australians choose Thailand for All-on-2 dental implants to access significant cost savings. They receive care from internationally accredited clinics. Specialists in Bangkok and Phuket use premium materials like Straumann and Ivoclar Vivadent. Prices range from $1,000 to $4,200.

  • Significant savings: Procedure costs up to 75% less than the $10,500 Australian average.
  • Global accreditation: Clinics like Bangkok International Dental Center hold JCI and ISO certifications.
  • Expert specialists: Surgeons like Dr Tarin Piangsuk are Diplomates of the American Board of Prosthodontics.
  • Precise technology: Facilities use Digital Smile Design and in-house labs for full-arch rehabilitations.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many search for the lowest price. However, the real value in Thailand is the standard of sterilisation. Clinics like Bangkok International Dental Hospital (BIDH) follow hospital-level protocols. This level of infection control often exceeds what patients find in dental surgeries back home.

Patient Consensus: Thailand is a mature destination where Australians bypass long waiting lists. Patients enjoy combining complex reconstructions with a tropical holiday. They also experience faster treatment timelines than in Australia.
