How Much Does Vagus nerve stimulation Cost in Turkey in AUD?

Vagus nerve stimulation in Turkey typically costs from AUD $17,158 to AUD $25,737. The final price depends on the device model, clinic tier, and the neurosurgeon's experience. In Australia, patients often pay around AUD $51,046, meaning they can save approximately 58% by travelling. Packages usually include the implantable device, surgical fees, preoperative testing, and hospital accommodation.

  • Device type: Standard or smart generators significantly impact the hardware cost.
  • Medical hub: Packages in Istanbul may cost 15–20% more than in regional cities like Antalya.
  • Hospital tier: University-affiliated hospitals often charge more for specialized neurosurgical equipment.
  • Surgical complexity: The severity of epilepsy or depression can influence the total surgical time.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing specialized neuropsychiatric centers offers excellent value for Australian patients. NP Istanbul Brain Hospital, for instance, is the second-ranked brain hospital in Europe. Full-board packages start around A$35,000 at JCI-accredited clinics like Istinye University Medical Park. These often include 5 to 7 days of hospital stay for careful monitoring. Experienced professors like Dr. Erhan Arslan frequently perform these complex neuromodulation procedures.

Dr Sait has worked wonders
On the 18th he underwent surgery with a vagus nerve stimulator on the 25th and it was connected. Dr Sait has worked wonders. Daytime seizures are very rare but nighttime seizures have changed completely. I am 35 years old and so far only the first connection 0.25 paediatric dose and 5 more connections. Thank you to the neurologist Dr Yemmir who agreed to treat me. For all my years my encephalogram is finally normal. I am from abroad. I don't live in Istanbul. But I thank the whole clinic, all the doctors, all the interpreters, all the staff.
