How Much Does Nephrectomy with Da Vinci Robot Cost in Turkey in AUD?

Nephrectomy with the Da Vinci robot in Turkey typically costs from AUD $14,506 to AUD $23,210. Final prices depend on whether the surgery is partial or radical and the complexity of the case. In Australia, similar robotic procedures cost around AUD $39,892 on average. Patients can save approximately 53% by choosing accredited centres in Istanbul or Izmir. These costs usually include surgeon fees, hospital stays, and airport transfers.

  • Partial nephrectomy: typically costs 20–40% more than radical removal due to higher surgical complexity.
  • Hospital location: packages in Istanbul often run 15–20% higher than in regional hubs like Izmir.
  • Surgery type: radical nephrectomy involves removing the entire kidney and is generally the baseline price.
  • Diagnostic inclusions: most packages cover preoperative blood tests, urologist consultations, and post-operative medications.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a specialist like Prof. Dr. Murat Binbay, who has performed over 600 robotic surgeries, provides immense clinical value. While Liv Hospital Ulus offers packages starting around A$22,400 including hotel stays, higher-tier options like Anadolu Medical Centre are affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine. This ensures international standards for Australians seeking top-tier surgical precision at a fraction of private costs back home.

Data verified by Bookimed as of July 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 29 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

It was the right choice
What worried me most was the uncertainty and what the treatment plan would be. But my fears were put to rest after the very first consultation. The doctor was very attentive and explained everything in detail and calmly, which immediately put me at ease. I really appreciate that approach. All the staff at the clinic were responsive and supportive at every stage. The clinic itself made a good impression; everything is well organised. I am currently in the recovery phase and feel much calmer, having a clear understanding of the next steps. It was the right choice.

The surgeon was excellent
What surprised me most about my basalioma treatment wasn't the procedure itself, but the detailed skin examination I received. The surgeon was excellent. He made sure all removal options were discussed clearly, which was reassuring since I already had my diagnosis before arriving. Right now, the treated area is healing very well. While the medical care was superb and the clinic facilities are great, the administrative staff seemed a bit disorganized, which was the only downside. Despite that, based on the surgeon’s work, it’s a place I would suggest to others.
My Bookimed coordinator was highly skilled, had the passion and patience for her work and that translated to the numerous array of options provided to me to choose from based on my budget during the entire process. She interacted with me 24/7 just for us to have solution within my schedule. All information (proforma, visa assistance, travel guidance and estimated personal expenses) for the entire treatment were on point and I encourage all manner of persons seeking medical treatment abroad to choose Bookimed as their medical tourism partner.
1. Interpreter only come when the patient calls for his services and that is only during the day. If the interpreter can also support beyond the interactions with the specialist. 2. Airport and Internal movement are left to the patient to handle which can sometimes be a major challenge for some category of patients and given the language barrier. 3. Hospital discharges are very strict even if you the patient feels he/she need additional day(s) to be fit for a return to the hotel to continue the recovery.

The doctor and all the staff have been very attentive and professional, which gives me confidence that I made the right choice of clinic and treatment process
My main concern before starting treatment was how my body would react to the drug. I’m undergoing a course of Keytruda immunotherapy for kidney cancer, receiving an infusion every three weeks. Yes, I have experienced some side effects. These are mainly digestive issues, and I feel a little more tired. Of course, I am still concerned that these might get worse over time. But I must say that the doctor and all the staff have been very attentive and professional, which gives me confidence that I made the right choice of clinic and treatment process.

When friends ask if I would suggest this clinic to them, my answer is a 10
My biggest worry was finding a surgeon and team I could completely trust for this personal procedure. That concern disappeared quickly. From the first consultation, the surgeon was professional and the staff were consistently kind, which made the whole process feel secure and well-managed. I'm still in the early stages of healing, but the level of care has been excellent. Everything was clear. When friends ask if I would suggest this clinic to them, my answer is a 10. The support has been fantastic.
Coordinator stayed in touch .The clinic exceeded expectations.I wanted to thank Dr. Baris Nuhoglu and his assistant, who took impeccable care of me. They listened to me and resolved a problem that was very serious and causing me discomfort. On May 19th, they gave me a new birth with professionalism, seriousness, and empathy.I have e big gratitude and deep respect to Dr. Baris and his team, and I wish to return in a few months for a check-up and, who knows, maybe for another new treatment.😁😉👍

The surgeon and all the staff at the clinic were highly professional and competent throughout my experience
My biggest concern before the operation was the recovery period, but now, 15 days after the prosthetic testicle implant surgery, I can say that things are going as expected. I received a small prosthesis measuring 3.5 cm; although I’m not sure of the brand, I’m satisfied with it. The surgeon and all the staff at the clinic were highly professional and competent throughout my experience. Everything went well. The recovery period is going well and without any problems so far.
The service was excellent, and the check-in and check-out were a real treat
No, I'm happy with the service and the performance

Thank Allah that we met him and he did a good surgery
Many thanks to Dr Bora Basharan and Alisher Durdiev! Diagnosis: carcinoma on the tongue. Alisher was very helpful with the choice and full support during the treatment. He gave us confidence in choosing Dr Bora Basharan by telling us about his professionalism and humanity. The most important thing for Alisher was the patient's health and to organise the diagnosis/surgery so that the patient gets the best results. We are very happy about this. We could not decide on the treatment (we were waiting for answers from South Korea) and Alisher did not give up to provide us with doctor's answers, answer our many questions and help with organisation. His ability to speak excellent Russian helped a lot in communication. The first meeting organised by Alisher went well. The doctor explained everything about the surgery and gave us peace of mind due to his experience as a highly specialised ENT surgeon in oncology. The operation went well and the follow up health checks. The recovery is good. We read many positive reviews online about Dr Bor Basharan which gave us more confidence. The reviews are true. After the surgery we were given a room with excellent food and the recovery was good. Thank Allah that we met Alisher and Dr Bora Basharan, for his golden hands, good surgery and organisation. Thank you very much again! Good health to all!

Honestly, I'm in awe from this experience
The hospital was fantastic, room was private, with all required amenities, cafe - lovely, everything was beautiful and clean. Staff were just so accommodating, my Doctor was knowledgeable, explained the procedure in detail. Honestly, I'm in awe from this experience. And even though I was coming in with a slight fear and a tiny panic attack, there was really no need to worry, everything is on a highest level! Thanks to all!
Translators were top notch! Everything was amazing, I can't select just one thing.
Had issue with payment, it kept getting rejected and due to this I wasn't admitted right away. But once payment went through, all services followed smoothly.

I felt like we had VIP treatment
My care was very good from start to finish. As soon as I arrived at the hospital, I was greeted by my interpreter and team. They were very friendly, put me at ease and explained what would happen and when. I had checks done and blood taken etc and met the consultant. He was absolutely lovely and again explained the whole procedure. I also met with the Anaesthetist. My procedure was completed and the care was fantastic from all the staff involved. The room and hospital were great. I felt like we had VIP treatment. The Hotel was also nice and everything runs like clockwork. Thanks to all the team but, especially to Ishmeal, Senna and Doctor Ozturk.

But I really liked the Bukimed service - they helped, supported, organised everything in the best possible way
There are certain issues with the hospital, in particular, the staff who are in no hurry and we had to spend the whole day in the hospital instead of a few hours - we waited, waited, and waited again..... But I really liked the Bukimed service - they helped, supported, organised everything in the best possible way. Thank you.
Overall, the hospital is good
Perhaps it's due to a different mentality, but we didn't really like waiting endlessly - no procedure or appointment started on time, no one is in a hurry and no one appreciates other people's time.

Excellent clinic, attentive and meticulous (in a good sense) doctors
Bookimed staff and interpreters accompanied us every step of the way, we got answers to all our questions. Comfortable room for the patient and the attendant (in our case) Excellent clinic, attentive and meticulous (in a good sense) doctors. The medical staff also, put all the drips, served and made all the analyses on schedule. All promptly and without unnecessary questions. Tasty and nourishing food was provided for both the patient and the attendant. On the territory of the hospital is a beautiful small park for walking, as well as in the clinic itself there are many places for rest and waiting The clinic met all expectations and costs
What I liked most was the competence and attentiveness of the doctors

FAQ about Nephrectomy with Da Vinci Robot in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is robotic partial nephrectomy safe in Turkey?

Robotic partial nephrectomy in Turkey is a safe, minimally invasive procedure with expert surgeons and JCI-accredited hospitals. Leading centres use the da Vinci robotic system for precision, minimising damage to healthy kidney tissue. This enables faster recovery and shorter hospital stays.

  • Expert surgeons: Dr Murat Zor at Liv Hospital Ulus performs robotic partial nephrectomy.
  • Hospital stay: Typically 3–4 days included in most packages.
  • Technology: da Vinci robotic system used, offering 3D high-resolution imaging.
  • Accreditation: Many clinics hold Joint Commission International (JCI) certification for safety.
  • Post-op care: Follow-up examinations and tests included in some packages.

Bookimed Expert Insight: The most experienced surgeons in Turkey have performed 600+ robotic urology surgeries each, often at JCI-accredited hospitals like Anadolu Medical Center and Liv Hospital Vadistanbul. Packages often include airport transfers and up to 6 nights’ hotel stays, providing good support for Australian patients.

Patient Consensus: Patients value the keyhole approach for fast recovery and minimal scarring in Turkey. Many are discharged within 3 days. Advice includes stopping smoking pre-op for better healing and confirming surgeons’ experience specifically in robotic partial nephrectomy.

What is a robotic-assisted (Da Vinci) nephrectomy in Turkey?

A robotic-assisted (Da Vinci) nephrectomy in Turkey is a minimally invasive surgery where a surgeon uses robotic arms for precise removal of all or part of a kidney. It offers smaller scars, less pain, and quicker recovery, often with a hospital stay of 2 to 4 days in accredited centres like Anadolu Medical Center and Liv Hospital.

  • Techniques available: robotic radical and partial nephrectomy using Da Vinci system.
  • Hospital stay: 3 to 4 days in packages, with discharge as early as 2 days post-op.
  • Key benefits: less blood loss, smaller incisions, and faster recovery than open surgery.
  • Accredited clinics: Anadolu Medical Center (JCI-accredited), Liv Hospital with English-speaking staff.
  • Packages often include airport transfers and follow-up visits with urologists.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many top urologists in Istanbul have advanced robotic training and 600+ robotic surgeries performed. Clinics like Anadolu Medical Center bundle airport transfers but no hotel, while Liv Hospital includes hotel stays, a crucial factor for recovery comfort. Packages vary greatly in inclusions, so check details closely.

Patient Consensus: Patients say robotic nephrectomy in Turkey brings faster healing and smaller scars. English-speaking coordinators help navigate the care, and most leave hospital within 2 to 4 days. Simple pain relief like paracetamol suffices, supporting a smoother recovery.

What are the advantages of robotic nephrectomy over open surgery in Turkey?

Robotic nephrectomy in Turkey offers smaller incisions, less pain, and faster recovery than open surgery. Surgeons use the da Vinci robotic system for precise tumour removal, reducing blood loss and preserving kidney function. Hospital stays often last 3–4 days, with discharge possible within 24 hours in expert centres.

  • Minimally invasive: uses small keyhole incisions, limiting tissue trauma.
  • Precision control: da Vinci robot provides 3D HD vision and dexterous instruments.
  • Recovery time: patients often leave hospital within 24 hours and return to light activity weeks later.
  • Blood loss: robotic surgery reduces bleeding and lowers complication risks.
  • Renal function: partial nephrectomy preserves more healthy kidney tissue with robotic help.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish centres like Anadolu Medical Center use surgeons with 2,500+ urologic surgeries, providing consistency. Liv Hospital Vadistanbul and Memorial Şişli Hospital hold JCI accreditation and offer robotic nephrectomy with packages including airport transfers and hotel stays, easing international patient logistics.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey appreciate how small incisions mean less soreness and scarring. They often mobilise quickly, using stairs soon after surgery. Many go home within a day and resume normal activities faster than expected compared to open surgery.

How long does a robotic nephrectomy procedure take in Turkey?

A robotic nephrectomy procedure in Turkey typically takes between 2 and 4 hours, under general anaesthesia. Hospital stays usually last 3 to 4 days, with follow-up care included in some packages. Patients often stay about a week in Turkey for recovery and post-op check-ups.

  • Procedure types: robotic radical and partial nephrectomy are available.
  • Hospital stay: 3–4 days per package, longer than the 1–2 day global average.
  • General anaesthesia is standard, with da Vinci robotic systems used widely.
  • Top clinics like Anadolu Medical Center include airport transfers and pre-op tests.
  • Experienced surgeons perform 2,500+ robotic surgeries, ensuring precision.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many Turkish clinics offer hospital stays of 3–4 days for robotic nephrectomy, giving more in-hospital recovery time than the usual 1–2 days. This extra care suits Australian patients valuing thorough post-op monitoring. Also, some top surgeons at Liv Hospital Vadistanbul and Anadolu Medical Center have logged thousands of robotic surgeries, underpinning quality and safety.

Patient Consensus: Australian patients find Turkey’s robotic nephrectomy stays pleasantly longer, allowing better rest. The inclusion of transfers and clear pre-op testing simplifies the trip. Surgeons and hospitals are highly experienced, helping boost patient confidence.

What is the recovery process like after a robotic nephrectomy in Turkey?

The recovery after a robotic nephrectomy in Turkey is typically fast and comfortable, with hospital stays lasting 3 to 4 days in most packages. Most patients return to light activities within 2–4 weeks and feel fully recovered in 4–6 weeks, benefiting from minimally invasive robot surgery using the da Vinci system.

  • Hospital stay: Usually includes 3–4 days post-surgery in Turkish packages.
  • Initial recovery: Patients start light activity, such as walking, within the first week.
  • Full recovery: Generally expected at 4 to 6 weeks after surgery.
  • Pain and fatigue: Manageable pain and soreness; fatigue can last several weeks.
  • Follow-up: Some clinics offer post-op visits and remote monitoring included.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish hospitals like Anadolu Medical Center and Liv Hospital include multi-day hospital stays and post-op follow-ups in their packages. Surgeons such as Dr Volkan Tugcu and Dr Murat Zor use the da Vinci system, offering skilled robotic nephrectomy with recovery support tailored for international patients.

Patient Consensus: Patients say robotic nephrectomy in Turkey offers quicker recovery than open surgery. Most resume light activities within weeks and appreciate included transfers and hospital stays easing the post-surgery period.

Why should Australians choose Turkey for robotic kidney surgery?

Australians choose Turkey for robotic kidney surgery because of top JCI-accredited clinics, expert surgeons using da Vinci systems, and kidney-sparing techniques. Hospital stays typically last 3–4 days, with follow-up care often included, providing safe, precise surgery and faster recovery compared to traditional methods.

  • JCI-accredited clinics: Memorial Şişli and Anadolu Medical Center lead quality and safety.
  • Experienced surgeons: Dr Volkan Tugcu has performed 2,500+ urologic surgeries.
  • Kidney-sparing surgery: Available with robot-assisted partial nephrectomy techniques.
  • Hospital stay: Packages often include 3 to 4 days in hospital plus follow-up visits.
  • International support: Coordinators and interpreters assist from airport to discharge.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkey’s top hospitals like Anadolu Medical Center and Liv Hospital combine high surgical volumes with coordinated patient support. Packages often include airport transfers and hotel stays for Aussies, easing travel stress. Surgeons such as Dr Murat Zor and Dr Volkan Tugcu specialise in robotic nephrectomy using da Vinci robots, which explains why recovery times match global benchmarks.

Patient Consensus: Australians appreciate the clear communication and telehealth consultations before surgery. They value the kidney-saving surgery approach and note hospital stays are short but thorough. Many find follow-up visits in Turkey reassuring and praise friendly international patient teams for smooth trips.

How do I choose a doctor for robotic nephrectomy in Turkey?

Choosing a doctor for robotic nephrectomy in Turkey means finding a urologist skilled in da Vinci robotic surgery with proven experience in kidney removal. Look for surgeons at JCI-accredited hospitals like Anadolu Medical Center or Memorial Şişli Hospital, and check if English-speaking coordinators support Australian patients.

  • Surgeon credentials: Check for urological oncology specialisation and robotic surgery training.
  • Experience metrics: Request the surgeon’s number of robotic nephrectomies performed, not just general surgery.
  • Hospital accreditation: Prefer JCI-accredited centres with advanced da Vinci robotic systems.
  • Language support: Ensure availability of English-speaking coordinators and translators.
  • Follow-up care: Confirm postoperative monitoring and nutritional guidance are included.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Surgeons like Dr Vafi Atalay at Anadolu Medical Center and Dr Murat Zor at Liv Hospital Ulus combine high surgical volumes with packages including transfers and hospital stays. This is a convenient choice for Australians. Also, surgeons certified by the European Board of Urology (FEBU) often have advanced training in robotic nephrectomy techniques.

Patient Consensus: Patients from Australia value doctors who offer clear explanations about partial versus full nephrectomy and arrange video consultations before travel. They appreciate English-speaking coordination and comprehensive transfer services in Istanbul, ensuring smooth hospital experiences.
