How Much Does Rehabilitation with Exoskeleton Cost in Turkey in AUD?

Rehabilitation with an exoskeleton in Turkey typically costs from AUD $5,597 to AUD $9,795. Final expenses depend on the treatment duration, the specific neurological or orthopedic condition, and the level of clinical care. In Australia, similar intensive robotic therapy costs around AUD $19,031 on average, meaning patients can save approximately 60%. Most Turkish programs include robotic sessions, physiotherapy, accommodation, and airport transfers.

  • Intensive protocols: Typically add 40–60% to the base cost for concentrated 30-day inpatient tracks.
  • Multi-session bundles: Often reduce the per-session price compared to single outpatient treatments.
  • Major medical hubs: Primary centres for robotic rehabilitation are located in Istanbul, Ankara, Eskişehir, and Pamukkale.
  • Specialised stroke packages: Often start around A$3,300 for focused neurological recovery protocols.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing centres in smaller cities like Eskisehir can offer significant value. Fizyomer Terapia, for instance, provides intensive programs with a 98% success rate for paediatric cerebral palsy and stroke. While Istanbul hospitals like Memorial or Medipol often carry higher price tags, they feature JCI-accredited infrastructure and are preferred by Australians for coordinating complex, multi-specialty care alongside robotic therapy.

Unfortunately, it was a very, very unsuccessful experience, and their only goal is money, not treatment. The doctors are completely unprofessional, and I was exploited.

We really liked the Physiomer hospital, it is very cozy and comfortable here. A big plus for the team, especially Melih, he helped us a lot on organizational issues. The physiotherapists are very patient and kind. Hussein and Zhannan are the best in their business. We have been choosing places where they can help us for a long time and we were not mistaken in choosing Physiomer, our little one was happy to work with this team.

Everything in the proposal was fulfilled. The clinic is clean and professional. All the rehabilitators have found a common language with the child. Rehabilitation is going well with the promised intensity. The interpreter is always in touch and closes all necessary questions In general, everything in the clinic is at the highest level. On the downside: I recommend taking the option without meals.

The biggest thing that surprised me is how much my walking balance has already improved
The biggest thing that surprised me is how much my walking balance has already improved. It’s a direct result of the support from the surgeon and the entire staff here. Their approach is focused on task-specific therapy, and the daily sessions are intense but effective. I've found the robotic walker to be an incredibly useful tool for my progress. It is hard work. My main daily challenge has been managing fatigue, but the team is attentive and helps create a plan that works. I feel like I'm in very capable hands for this stage of my recovery.

The most important thing is that it brought us great joy to see the progress in the treatment of our baby Michelle
We thank Fizyomer Clinic for the attention to our family, for the kind and responsive staff, for the professional approach to the treatment of our baby Michelle, we thank every employee of the hospital for their invaluable work, for choosing the profession of helping disabled people, for the organisation of everything: daily transfer, excellent hotel in the room kitchen where you can prepare home-cooked food for your child, as well as excellent two meals a day with delivery to the ward in the hospital, but most importantly it is an attitude of love to your child and the experience of the physiotherapists: D The most important thing is that it brought us great joy to see the progress in the treatment of our baby Michelle. All the staff work as one friendly team. The hospital also offers various cosmetic procedures as well as the installation of implants in a short period of time with the help of laser technology. Nobel rehab offered my mother, who had a stroke, a good program
Nobel rehab offered my mother, who had a stroke, a good program. It included both traditional methods, such as massage, physiotherapy exercises, a swimming pool, and modern methods using robots. Mom is going through an intensive rehabilitation course. I want to note the respectful and caring attitude of the staff. Living conditions and food completely suit my mother.

The clinic is beautiful, but not for ordinary people. I can say about the doctors of the clinic that ordinary doctors, like everywhere else, are not interested in patients, and money is not interested. Those who are interested in patients are coordinators, doctors are organized, they went to Istanbul for rehabilitation, only Alexander helped us, thanks to him a lot. It is a great desire that the doctors of the clinic also work as the coordinator doctors work, consult with them before you go.

I get up, walk, try to put my stick away
When, with age, the body ceases to obey you, at first you blame the past years, and then the thought arises that you need to look for a panacea (a cure for all diseases). There are organizations in the world ready to find an antidote. BOOKIMED. (Head Evgeny Khotyanov. Responsible for the findings of the miracle doctors Oleksii Karahanov.) This is not the first time I apply and I always receive addresses of top-class specialists. They find the best in their field, they know the best doctors in the world. And they found medical athletes for me (medical-sports-physical complex “FIZYOMER” therapist. Under the guidance of Professor Dr. Turkan Tunerir). In Turkey, in the city with the speaking name Eskisehir (еskisehir), the Old City, where even nature awakens the life of organs subject to orthopedists. So: Airport-plane-Airport. And then comfort is everywhere: a meeting - the driver Yelmaz and the manager Melih and Yerzhan. A trip to the city and resettlement. Work with me For many hours a day every day, with warm, responsive hands and mechanisms that revive and lift those who are lying. The masters of therapeutic gymnastics Janan, Hussein and Ibrahim, and translator Golmir tirelessly translating for us and from us. They find the right points, muscles and joints on my body, connect some unprecedented, unheard of mechanisms. And so ... I get up, walk, try to put my stick away. Youth…. And everyone who comes here, according to my observations, receives individually all the necessary and unprecedented support anywhere else. Thanks to the Aesculapius, their smart hands, all the employees of the center. Academician Katsev Alexander

The Head Doctor is a great person with humility and patience to treat his patients well
Please check your facts as the hospital is very expensive for Turkey. However, very good facilities, most staff are committed and know their jobs well. The Head Doctor is a great person with humility and patience to treat his patients well. However, I am not aware of who is behind him and may influence some decisions. The facility should invest and innovate more. There are not enough staff and the patient’s progress suffered as a result. High turnover rate. I am quite surprised that the management team or main representative never once visited my family member, a long-term patient. Some nurses need to be trained as they lack essential customer service skills. Overall, good hospital with quality infrastructure and amenities. In this rehabilitation block, the patient rooms are mostly small and the bed-chair is very uncomfortable for long-term attendants. I would recommend the Hospital of course! We had a good experience despite few setbacks. Most problems were addressed professionally but the truth has to be told. It took some personal time and energy and the quality standards need to be there. We are not dealing with retail but health and you cannot expect your patients not to be demanding when they spend/pay a lot for medical care in Turkey.
Communication and goal sharing. Compassionate and well experienced. Very nice and seems knowledgeable. Speaks English well, problem-solver!
Ratings of hospital services. Recommendations and follow-up with hospital management on patient issues. Most contacts at the hospital are junior staff and problems not solved critically.

FAQ about Rehabilitation with Exoskeleton in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What conditions can be treated with exoskeleton and robotic rehabilitation in Turkey?

Turkish clinics treat neurological and orthopaedic conditions using robotic systems like Lokomat, ReWalk, and Erigo. These therapies focus on stroke recovery, spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, and multiple sclerosis. Specialists use these tools to retrain motor patterns and improve muscle strength.

  • Neurological recovery: Improves walking and balance for stroke and traumatic brain injury patients.
  • Spinal cord therapy: Helps patients with partial paralysis stand and practise stepping patterns.
  • Paediatric support: Normalises gait and prevents contractures in children with cerebral palsy.
  • Degenerative conditions: Manages muscle weakness and spasticity in multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish rehabilitation centres like Fizyomer Terapia report a 98% success rate. This covers cerebral palsy and stroke. This high efficacy stems from combining robotic gait training with natural therapies. Nobel Medical Center even integrates thermal mineral water and mud therapy into robotic protocols.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey describe robotic rehab as an intensive tool for gait training. They do not see it as a permanent walking aid. Experience shows muscle strength and range of motion improve significantly over three months of guided therapy.

Why do international patients choose Turkey for exoskeleton-assisted therapy?

International patients choose Turkey for exoskeleton-assisted therapy due to high-density robotic infrastructure and multidisciplinary neurorehabilitation pathways. Leading Istanbul and Eskisehir clinics use ReWalk, Lokomat, and Erigo systems to treat spinal cord injuries, strokes, and cerebral palsy. Treatment costs are approximately 80% less than Australian prices.

  • Robotic systems: Facilities use Lokomat gait trainers and ReWalk exoskeletons for intensive neurological recovery.
  • Clinical accreditation: Major centres like Memorial Şişli and Medipol Mega hold JCI and TEMOS certifications.
  • Intensive programs: Clinics like Fizyomer Terapia report a 98% success rate for stroke and spinal injuries.
  • Holistic recovery: Therapy integrates robotic gait training with aquatic therapy and natural thermal mineral water.
  • Travel logistics: Packages bundle rehabilitation sessions with VIP airport transfers and dedicated medical interpreters.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish rehabilitation centres often specialise by location rather than just price. While Istanbul clinics like Memorial Bahçelievler offer JCI-accredited robotic surgery hubs, centres in Pamukkale and Eskisehir combine exoskeletons with thermal balneotherapy. This dual approach helps patients manage chronic pain while undergoing intensive robotic gait training.

Patient Consensus: Patients travel to Turkey to access structured gait training that yields measurable progress in mobility. The experience is often described as better value than local options, with comprehensive support for international travel logistics.

Which robotic devices and exoskeleton systems are commonly used in Turkish clinics?

Turkish clinics use robotic systems to treat neurological and orthopaedic conditions. These include Lokomat gait trainers, ReWalk, and Ekso Bionics exoskeletons. These devices assist with stroke recovery and spinal cord injuries. They are available at JCI-accredited facilities. Examples include Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital and Biruni University Hospital in Istanbul.

  • Gait training: Lokomat Pro serves as the standard for robotic-assisted walking therapy.
  • Wearable exoskeletons: ReWalk and Ekso GT systems help patients stand and retrain gait.
  • Early mobilisation: Erigo verticalisers combine tilt-table therapy with robotic stepping for intensive care.
  • Advanced mobility: Wandercraft Atalante X provides hands-free support for severe mobility impairments.
  • Anti-gravity treadmills: Support body weight to allow pain-free walking during early recovery stages.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics offer robotic rehab. However, university-affiliated centres like Biruni University Hospital often house the most diverse fleet. Dr Abdullah Ozkardes there uses ReWalk, Erigo, and Anti-Gravity treadmills together. This combination allows for a smoother transition from early verticalisation to independent overground walking.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey find that robotic gait trainers like Lokomat are most effective. They work best when paired with traditional physiotherapy. Success depends on choosing the right clinic. The clinic must match specific mobility goals with the right equipment brand.

Which hospitals and medical networks are best known for robotic rehabilitation in Turkey?

Major Turkish medical networks are globally recognised for robotic rehabilitation. These include Memorial Healthcare Group, Medipol Health Group, and Nobel Medical. These centres use technologies like Lokomat systems, ReWalk exoskeletons, and Erigo verticalisers. They treat spinal injuries, stroke, and neurological disorders in JCI-accredited facilities.

  • Memorial Healthcare Group: Features Lokomat walking tracks and upper-limb robots at its JCI-accredited Istanbul flagships.
  • Medipol Mega University: Houses an extensive unit with Walkbot systems and Armeo Power hand-arm robots.
  • Nobel Medical Centre: Combines robotic gait training with natural thermal mineral water and mud therapies.
  • Biruni University Hospital: Offers neurorehabilitation using ReWalk exoskeletons and Anti-Gravity treadmills for complex cases.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Istanbul hospitals like Memorial offer the latest robotic hardware. Nobel Medical in Pamukkale, on the other hand, provides a distinct advantage: it pairs Lokomat therapy with thermal balneotherapy. This combination pairs robotic precision with natural mineral water therapy. It often accelerates muscle recovery for orthopaedic patients.

Patient Consensus: Large private hospital networks in Istanbul provide the most reliable support for international patients. Families recommend choosing multidisciplinary teams. In these teams, rehabilitation physicians work directly with neurologists to coordinate exoskeleton sessions.
