Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care
Monsplaty, Tummy Tuck and 360 Liposuction. My biggest concern going into this was what the recovery would actually feel like. It's not easy. The most challenging part has definitely been the constant tight feeling, which is something to be prepared for. My surgeon used a combination of liposuction and excision. Right now there is still some swelling, so it’s too early to know how my clothes will fit differently in the end. Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care. It was a professional and supportive environment, and I'm glad I made the choice to go there.
Very clean, very inviting. After care was good too. Everything was quick and easy. Communication via whatsapp made things easier as well. I travelled solo and the staff helped that little extra.
After surgery garments are not forgiving for us longer torso people. They were a bit short which added a lil discomfort when it rolled at the back. Other than that everything was really good.

My surgeon was excellent, a definite 5/5
If you're considering a tummy tuck, know that the recovery is a real process. My surgeon was excellent, a definite 5/5. He performed a full tuck and repositioned my belly button, and everything already feels very tight, which is good. My biggest challenge right now is the compression garment; it's just a constant presence. While the surgeon was fantastic, there were some minor organizational points with the clinic and staff that could have been smoother. It's still too early to see the final flat result with all the healing left to do, but I feel confident in my choice. I would give this clinic a 9/10 recommendation to a friend.
The doctor he is excellent .soft spoken ,attentive and a great surgeon.
Rooms could be bigger so that attendant could stay at night. They have a reclining sofa not suitable for night sleeping. Front desk managers could be more attentive to every detail.

My biggest surprise is the lack of results. Although I am only just beginning my recovery, my skin is already much looser than I expected after such a procedure. The hardest part so far has been the visibility of the bruises, which were very extensive. I have to admit: the staff were decent. However, communication with the surgeon was virtually non-existent, to the extent that I’m not even sure which technique was used. The clinic’s overall organisation was also poor. I would absolutely not recommend this clinic.

I chose not to use the services at all. I was working with book med for months looked at the pictures of the hospital, but when I got there and actually saw the hospital, it was dirty. The room where you take. The pictures looks dirty unorganized so what would the operating room look like? I pay the consultant fee, but the doctor never touched me. Never put his hands on me. Just looked at my pictures and I'm in the room so you need to fix that.
About Bookimed service
Tiffany and Whitington, the coordinators were fine. Got all the information. It was the dirtiness of the hospital and the unprofessionalism of the doctor. He looks sloppy like he didn't have time like I said before he never even touched me so I paid a consultation fee for a conversation about nothing, not happy

I am more than satisfied for the price and can highly recommend the clinic
The staff are very friendly and make you feel really comfortable. It is sometimes a bit difficult to communicate in the clinic as not every member of staff speaks English well, but it's not a big problem. I was very nervous before my tummy tuck but the nurse was really responsive to me. Contact is always via WhatsApp, which is very convenient. I am driven to the clinic every 2 days and the clinic covers the travel costs. Everything is also included. I am more than satisfied for the price and can highly recommend the clinic.

There is very weak communication gap between the Doctor and no explanation of the procedure. The clinic should in detail the procedures they will be performing. It would be better if possible to show a before and after video presented to the patient so that the patient can easily see what is going on.
I didn't like the neck lift done. I am concerned. One thing the neck lift was supposed to be minor bur for some reason my ears are also effected. I have two big lumps on either side of my ears and I have extra skin where I didn't have before..

FAQ about Reverse Tummy Tuck in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the potential risks and complications of a reverse tummy tuck in Thailand?

Reverse tummy tucks in Thailand carry standard surgical risks like infection, haematoma, or seroma. The overall complication rate is low at 1.35%. Specific concerns include visible scarring near the breast line, localised numbness, and skin irregularities. Clinics like Wansiri Hospital and Bangkok Hospital Pattaya use JCI-accredited protocols and HEPA filtration to reduce these risks.

  • Surgical infections: Filtration and touchless features in Bangkok hospitals minimise infection risks after surgery.
  • Scarring patterns: Incisions are placed along the breast fold, which may leave visible scars.
  • Fluid accumulation: Some patients may develop seromas or haematomas that need drainage during recovery.
  • DVT risks: Long-haul flights to Australia increase blood clot risks. This requires planned rest before travel.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Complication rates are low, and the 48% savings let patients choose premium facilities. Selecting JCI-accredited centres like Bangkok Hospital Pattaya ensures the theatre meets Australian safety benchmarks. This is vital for managing the 1.35% risk of minor surgical complications effectively.

Patient Consensus: Patients find that Thai hospitals provide attentive nursing care. This helps in spotting early signs of redness or swelling. The clean room standards in Bangkok are frequently praised for providing a sterile healing environment.

Who is considered a suitable candidate for a reverse tummy tuck in Thailand?

Suitable candidates for a reverse tummy tuck in Thailand have loose skin mainly above the navel. This procedure targets upper abdominal sagging often caused by weight loss or breast surgery. It uses incisions hidden within the natural inframammary folds for a discreet finish.

  • Targeted laxity: Excess loose skin or folding concentrated specifically in the upper abdominal region.
  • Weight stability: Maintained a consistent body weight for at least 6 months before surgery.
  • Post-surgical history: Addresses skin sag resulting from previous weight loss or breast lifts.
  • General health: Good overall physical health and free from chronic conditions that hinder healing.

Bookimed Expert Insight: This niche procedure is frequently performed alongside breast surgery in Bangkok. Hospitals like Wansiri or B.Care Medical Center often provide this treatment. Because the incisions align with those for a breast lift, surgeons can address two concerns through one entry point. This combination is effective for patients with good lower abdominal tone who want to tighten the upper torso.

Patient Consensus: Many patients find this targeted lift provides the specific upper abdominal tightening they could not achieve with exercise. In Thailand, the experience often includes recovery in private suites with round-the-clock monitoring. Patients also receive clear instructions for returning home.

What is a reverse tummy tuck and how does it differ from a traditional procedure in Thailand?

A reverse tummy tuck is a specialised surgery that tightens loose skin and removes excess fat from the upper abdomen. A traditional procedure pulls skin downwards. In contrast, this technique lifts tissue upwards toward the chest. Incisions are neatly hidden within the natural folds under the breasts.

  • Incision location: Surgeons place incisions under the breast crease rather than the bikini line.
  • Direction of lift: Excess skin is pulled upwards toward the chest to smooth the upper abdomen.
  • Upper abdominal focus: It targets laxity above the navel from pregnancy or weight loss.
  • Lower abdominal health: This option suits patients with firm skin and muscle below the navel.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand is a hub for combination surgeries. Reverse tummy tucks are often paired with breast lifts or augmentations. Both procedures use the same incision under the breast. This allows for upper-body rejuvenation while avoiding extra scarring and separate recovery periods.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand recommend confirming the specific technique during consults. Clinics often use the generic term tummy tuck. The results work well for upper abdominal sagging. However, scars may be visible in some low-cut tops or swimwear.

How long do I need to remain in Thailand for recovery after a reverse tummy tuck?

Most patients require 10 to 14 days in Thailand before flying home after a reverse tummy tuck. This timeframe allows for wound monitoring, drainage tube removal, and managing initial swelling. The procedure costs from Price on request to Price on request . This is significantly lower than the _price_compare_AU_average_ Australian average.

  • Clinical stay: Expect 1–2 nights in facilities like Lelux Plastic Surgery Hospital for monitoring.
  • Initial recovery: Spend 7–10 days in a hotel for stitches and drain management.
  • Fitness to fly: Surgeons must clear patients for long-haul travel to avoid circulatory complications.
  • Extended stays: Plan for 21 days if combining procedures for stable healing.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics suggest a 7-day stay. However, our data shows patients at JCI-accredited centres like Bangkok Hospital Pattaya choose 14 days. This extra week helps with managing compression garments comfortably before the long flight home.

Patient Consensus: Successful recovery involves waiting for surgical clearance rather than just feeling well. Patients suggest building a buffer for swelling. They also recommend ensuring you can walk comfortably before boarding.

Where are the incisions made during a reverse tummy tuck in Thailand?

Surgeons in Thailand place reverse tummy tuck incisions horizontally along the inframammary fold. This is the crease directly under both breasts. This positioning helps hide the resulting scar under the natural breast curve or swimwear.

  • Incision placement: Specialists typically position scars 1–3 cm below or inside the breast fold.
  • Upper abdomen focus: This technique removes excess skin from the upper belly by pulling it upwards.
  • Lower abdomen benefit: Patients avoid incisions near the bikini line as the lift occurs vertically.
  • Specialised techniques: Clinics such as Lelux Hospital use instruments designed to limit incision length.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many patients choose Bangkok for its 150+ clinics. However, Bangkok Hospital Pattaya is a standout for safety. It holds JCI accreditation and a Temos International Healthcare award for its rigorous standards.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand recommend having the surgeon mark incision lines while standing. This helps to ensure scars stay hidden. The horizontal scar may sit straight or follow the natural breast fold.

Can I combine a reverse tummy tuck with other procedures in Thailand?

Surgeons in Thailand frequently combine a reverse tummy tuck with procedures like breast lifts or liposuction. Leading Bangkok facilities, including Wansiri Hospital and Preecha Aesthetic Institute, offer these combinations within Mommy Makeover packages. This helps to streamline recovery and reduce overall costs.

  • Breast procedures: Shared incision lines below the breasts allow for simultaneous lifts or augmentations.
  • Body contouring: VASER liposuction often refines the waist and flanks alongside skin tightening.
  • Lower abdomen: Combining with a standard abdominoplasty provides a total 360-degree abdominal transformation.
  • Accredited facilities: Bangkok Hospital Pattaya maintains JCI standards for safety during multi-procedure surgeries.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand is a global hub for body contouring, ranking third for these requests. Large centres like B.Care Medical Center handle 22,000+ patients annually. This high volume gives surgical teams deep experience in managing longer anaesthesia times safely.

Patient Consensus: Many patients successfully pair upper body surgeries in Thailand to simplify travel. They recommend planning extra days in Bangkok to manage swelling before the flight to Australia.

Is a reverse tummy tuck procedure painful and how is it managed in Thailand?

A reverse tummy tuck in Thailand involves moderate soreness and upper abdominal tightness rather than sharp pain. Specialists manage discomfort using prescription analgesics, compression garments, and 1–2 days of hospital monitoring. Major Bangkok centres use anaesthesia and high-standard theatre environments for patient comfort throughout recovery.

  • Pain intensity: Soreness feels like extreme muscle tightness in the upper abdomen and chest.
  • Hospital monitoring: Patients stay 1–2 days at facilities like Wansiri or Lelux Hospital.
  • Medication protocol: Surgeons provide strong analgesics initially before stepping down to milder pain relief.
  • Supportive garments: Medical-grade compression reduces swelling and the irritating sensation of skin pulling.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai hospitals like Bangkok Hospital Pattaya often hold Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. This confirms they follow strict international safety standards for anaesthesia. This is vital for Australians because these protocols mirror the care found in private hospitals back home.

Patient Consensus: Sleeping semi-upright with extra pillows helps reduce tightness in Thailand. Discomfort generally decreases as swelling subsides. However, managing drains and limited mobility is often more challenging than the incision soreness.
