How Much Does Fleur De Lis Tummy Tuck Cost in Thailand in AUD?

A fleur de lis tummy tuck in Thailand typically costs from AUD $6,488 / ฿A220,586 to AUD $12,255 / ฿A416,662. Prices depend on the patient's body mass index, clinic accreditation, and the surgical complexity. Patients save around 65% by travelling to Thailand compared to Australia, where the average cost is AUD $26,672 / ฿A906,853. Standard packages usually include surgeon fees, anaesthetic, hospital stays, and compression garments.

  • Body weight adjustments: Clinics often add roughly 5-10% to the base price for every 10kg over 80-90kg.
  • JCI-accredited facilities: Choosing hospitals with Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation typically increases costs by 15-20%.
  • Combined liposuction: Adding flank liposuction to the procedure generally increases the total price by 20-30%.
  • City variations: Packages in Bangkok often cost 10-15% more than in regional hubs like Pattaya or Chiang Mai.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a larger medical group provides significant reliability for Australian patients. Bangkok Hospital Pattaya is part of the Bangkok Dusit Medical Services, Thailand's largest hospital network. They treat 400,000 patients annually and hold JCI and TÜV NORD certifications. This ensures international safety standards for complex body contouring after significant weight loss. Selecting such established centres offers better value through integrated diagnostic departments and on-site specialists.

Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care
Monsplaty, Tummy Tuck and 360 Liposuction. My biggest concern going into this was what the recovery would actually feel like. It's not easy. The most challenging part has definitely been the constant tight feeling, which is something to be prepared for. My surgeon used a combination of liposuction and excision. Right now there is still some swelling, so it’s too early to know how my clothes will fit differently in the end. Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care. It was a professional and supportive environment, and I'm glad I made the choice to go there.
Very clean, very inviting. After care was good too. Everything was quick and easy. Communication via whatsapp made things easier as well. I travelled solo and the staff helped that little extra.
After surgery garments are not forgiving for us longer torso people. They were a bit short which added a lil discomfort when it rolled at the back. Other than that everything was really good.

My surgeon was excellent, a definite 5/5
If you're considering a tummy tuck, know that the recovery is a real process. My surgeon was excellent, a definite 5/5. He performed a full tuck and repositioned my belly button, and everything already feels very tight, which is good. My biggest challenge right now is the compression garment; it's just a constant presence. While the surgeon was fantastic, there were some minor organizational points with the clinic and staff that could have been smoother. It's still too early to see the final flat result with all the healing left to do, but I feel confident in my choice. I would give this clinic a 9/10 recommendation to a friend.
The doctor he is excellent .soft spoken ,attentive and a great surgeon.
Rooms could be bigger so that attendant could stay at night. They have a reclining sofa not suitable for night sleeping. Front desk managers could be more attentive to every detail.

You feel like the most important patient in a clinic full of patients because this is how they naturally are
My overall experience was wonderful easy and carefree, Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisorphongsakul and his nurses and team are helpful respectful and kind in future I will definitely return if I decide to undergo future procedures.I highly recommend IDCLINIC it can be scary traveling to a different country for sugary I’ve also traveled to turkey I recommend Thailand above this the cleanliness and the standard is high at IDCLINIC and they take pride in what they do,you feel like the most important patient in a clinic full of patients because this is how they naturally are. very professional and attentive to each individual patient and their personal needs.i will be recommending any of my loved ones and friends that are contemplating sugary over seas to Thailand at IDCLINIC.
My results :)

My biggest surprise is the lack of results. Although I am only just beginning my recovery, my skin is already much looser than I expected after such a procedure. The hardest part so far has been the visibility of the bruises, which were very extensive. I have to admit: the staff were decent. However, communication with the surgeon was virtually non-existent, to the extent that I’m not even sure which technique was used. The clinic’s overall organisation was also poor. I would absolutely not recommend this clinic.

I chose not to use the services at all. I was working with book med for months looked at the pictures of the hospital, but when I got there and actually saw the hospital, it was dirty. The room where you take. The pictures looks dirty unorganized so what would the operating room look like? I pay the consultant fee, but the doctor never touched me. Never put his hands on me. Just looked at my pictures and I'm in the room so you need to fix that.
About Bookimed service
Tiffany and Whitington, the coordinators were fine. Got all the information. It was the dirtiness of the hospital and the unprofessionalism of the doctor. He looks sloppy like he didn't have time like I said before he never even touched me so I paid a consultation fee for a conversation about nothing, not happy

I am more than satisfied for the price and can highly recommend the clinic
The staff are very friendly and make you feel really comfortable. It is sometimes a bit difficult to communicate in the clinic as not every member of staff speaks English well, but it's not a big problem. I was very nervous before my tummy tuck but the nurse was really responsive to me. Contact is always via WhatsApp, which is very convenient. I am driven to the clinic every 2 days and the clinic covers the travel costs. Everything is also included. I am more than satisfied for the price and can highly recommend the clinic.

There is very weak communication gap between the Doctor and no explanation of the procedure. The clinic should in detail the procedures they will be performing. It would be better if possible to show a before and after video presented to the patient so that the patient can easily see what is going on.
I didn't like the neck lift done. I am concerned. One thing the neck lift was supposed to be minor bur for some reason my ears are also effected. I have two big lumps on either side of my ears and I have extra skin where I didn't have before..

FAQ about Fleur De Lis Tummy Tuck in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is a Fleur de Lis tummy tuck safe when performed in Thailand?

Fleur de Lis tummy tucks in Thailand are safe when performed at JCI-accredited hospitals by board-certified plastic surgeons. Facilities such as Bangkok Hospital Pattaya follow international safety protocols. These include Caprini scoring for blood clot prevention. Most patients recover well within medical hubs that prioritise international coordination.

  • Accredited hospitals: JCI and ISO certifications show clinics meet strict global healthcare and safety standards.
  • Expert surgeons: Surgeons at Preecha Aesthetic Institute specialise in complex reconstructive and aesthetic abdominal surgery.
  • Patient volume: Large networks like Samitivej Hospitals treat over 1,000,000 patients annually with multidisciplinary support.
  • Specialist care: Facilities like Dr. V Plastic Surgery maintain memberships with the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).
  • Support services: Major hospital groups provide international coordination and telehealth for Australian patients after surgery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many seekers focus on Bangkok, Bangkok Hospital Pattaya is a major regional centre. It carries dual JCI and Temos accreditations. This specific combination signals a higher standard for managing international patient logistics and clinical outcomes. Choosing these high-volume centres ensures access to 24/7 emergency care that smaller private clinics may lack.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand recommend viewing the Fleur de Lis as a complex operation. It is more involved than a standard abdominoplasty. Successful experiences involve prioritising surgeons who provide clear wound care instructions and telehealth follow-up.

What is involved in a Fleur de Lis tummy tuck procedure in Thailand and why is a vertical incision used?

A Fleur de Lis tummy tuck in Thailand is a specialised surgery for patients with massive weight loss. It uses vertical and horizontal incisions to remove excess skin from the abdomen. This technique allows surgeons to tighten the waistline from all angles.

  • Dual incisions: Surgeons make a horizontal lower-belly cut and a vertical midline incision.
  • Upper abdomen tightening: Vertical scars allow removal of skin a standard tummy tuck cannot reach.
  • Muscle repair: Specialists tighten abdominal muscles (rectus diastasis) for a flatter, firmer profile.
  • Specialist centres: Providers like Preecha Aesthetic Institute in Bangkok focus on reconstructive contouring.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand is a global leader for this procedure. Bangkok Hospital Pattaya serves 400,000+ patients annually. Board-certified surgeons at JCI-accredited facilities often combine this with telehealth support for Australians. This allows for safe recovery monitoring after returning home.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand report that the vertical scar is a worthwhile trade-off. They feel it is needed for a truly narrow waist. They highlight how effectively the procedure removes the stubborn "apron" of skin.

How long is the recovery period after a Fleur de Lis tummy tuck in Thailand and when is it safe to fly back to Australia?

Patients typically stay 14 to 21 days in Thailand before flying home to Australia. The Fleur de Lis procedure involves vertical and horizontal incisions. This requires extra healing time. Specialists advise waiting 4 to 6 weeks for long-haul flights to minimise deep vein thrombosis risks.

  • Hospital stay: Expect 1–3 nights in a facility like Bangkok Hospital Pattaya for monitoring.
  • Drain removal: Surgeons usually remove surgical drains around day 3 to 5 after surgery.
  • Initial recovery: First 1–2 weeks involve peak swelling, bruising, and restricted upright movement.
  • Flight safety: Long-haul travel requires surgeon clearance to check that incisions are fully closed.
  • Activity levels: Light work is possible after 3 weeks. Avoid heavy lifting for 6 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Basic tummy tucks start at $4,000. Fleur de Lis cases often reach $8,500 due to complexity. Major centres like Samitivej Hospitals provide international coordination and telehealth. This support is vital for Australians needing remote wound assessments before their 9-hour flight home.

Patient Consensus: Recovery in Thailand is measured in weeks. Dual incisions cause significant tightness and limited mobility. Patients suggest staying at least 2 weeks before travel. Managing luggage and long periods of sitting remains difficult even when feeling mobile.

What will the scarring look like after a Fleur de Lis tummy tuck?

A Fleur de Lis tummy tuck leaves an anchor-shaped or inverted T scar. It includes a horizontal line between the hips and a vertical line down the abdomen. These incisions are needed to remove significant skin both vertically and horizontally.

  • Anchor pattern: Combines a low horizontal bikini-line incision with a permanent vertical midline scar.
  • Initial appearance: Scars appear red, raised, or prominent during the first weeks after surgery.
  • Maturation timeline: Incisions typically take 6–12 months to fade into thin, pale, skin-toned lines.
  • Concealment factor: The horizontal scar sits low. However, the vertical part often reaches above the navel.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Costs for this procedure in Thailand range from $4,500 to $8,500. Surgeon skill in closure determines the final scar width. Facilities such as Bangkok Hospital Pattaya follow JCI standards. These standards support clean, fine-line healing and lower infection risks in theatre.

Patient Consensus: Many patients find the permanent vertical scar is an acceptable trade for losing massive amounts of skin. They suggest using silicone sheets and massage to help flatten and soften the anchor-pattern lines.

How should I research the best surgeons for a Fleur de Lis tummy tuck in Thailand?

Researching surgeons for a Fleur de Lis tummy tuck in Thailand involves verifying board certifications. Check for membership with the Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand.

Effective research focuses on post-bariatric specialists at JCI-accredited facilities. These include Bangkok Hospital Pattaya or Samitivej Hospitals. This helps find expertise in complex vertical and horizontal skin removal.

  • Board certification: Confirm ThPRS membership and international affiliations with ISAPS for high surgical standards.
  • Specific case galleries: Review before-and-after photos showing vertical Fleur de Lis scar patterns.
  • Facility safety: Prioritise JCI-accredited hospitals with on-site intensive care units for complex procedures.
  • Bariatric experience: Seek surgeons specialising in body contouring after massive weight loss.
  • Australian support: Favour clinics like Samitivej Hospitals that provide telehealth follow-up for returning patients.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok Hospital Pattaya handles over 400,000 patients annually and holds multiple international quality awards. Large hospital groups in Thailand typically offer more robust backup care than standalone centres. This scale often means better management of swelling or wound issues through coordination teams.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand recommend checking how surgeons manage drains and vertical scars. They value clinics that coordinate detailed recovery plans for the long flight back to Australia.

Can I combine a Fleur de Lis tummy tuck with other body contouring procedures in Thailand?

Thai surgeons frequently combine a Fleur de Lis tummy tuck with other body contouring procedures. This helps address excess skin after major weight loss. Common combinations include breast lifts, arm lifts (brachioplasty), or thigh lifts. These take place in JCI-accredited facilities in Bangkok and Pattaya.

  • Combination procedures: Surgeons often perform a breast lift, thigh lift, or liposuction alongside the abdominal surgery.
  • Surgical facility: Leading centres like Samitivej Hospitals and Bangkok Hospital Pattaya maintain international JCI accreditation standards.
  • Travel timeframe: Patients should plan for 14–21 days in Thailand for proper post-surgical monitoring.
  • Safety protocols: Specialists assess surgical load and patient fitness to decide if multiple procedures are safe.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Combining surgeries saves on hospital fees. However, major Thai centres like Samitivej Hospitals often limit total theatre time for safety. Choosing a multi-specialty hospital over a small clinic ensures immediate access to 29+ specialised departments. This is helpful if intensive post-operative monitoring is required.

Patient Consensus: Many patients find that staging surgeries over two trips provides better results. They recommend confirming telehealth follow-up plans and wound care instructions before flying home to Australia.
