How Much Does Neck liposuction Cost in Thailand in AUD?

Neck liposuction in Thailand typically costs from AUD $1,015 / ฿A34,525 to AUD $4,207 / ฿A143,031. Prices depend on the chosen technique, such as VASER or laser-assisted methods, and the clinic's location in hubs like Bangkok, Phuket, or Pattaya. Australians save approximately 69% compared to local prices, which average AUD $8,559 / ฿A290,993. Costs generally include surgeon fees, anaesthesia, and post-operative compression garments.

  • VASER liposuction: typically adds 20–30% to the base cost for ultrasound-assisted fat removal.
  • Laser-assisted technique: often carries a premium for precision skin tightening during the procedure.
  • General anaesthetic: increases the total price due to professional anaesthesiologist fees and facility use.
  • Bangkok medical hubs: may cost 15–20% more than regional clinics in Pattaya or Phuket.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Australian patients frequently choose Bangkok for its high surgical success rates. Wansiri Hospital, for example, maintains a 99% success rate for liposuction procedures. While basic neck contouring starts around A$2,100, premium facilities like Asia Cosmetic Hospital provide JCI-accredited care with zero post-operative complication rates. This clinical excellence offers significant value compared to the high out-of-pocket costs found in Australia's private system.

Data verified by Bookimed as of July 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 205 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

The staff were fantastic and supportive through every step
I am noticing some subtle changes to my contour, which is encouraging. The staff were fantastic and supportive through every step. The surgeon was professional, though I had minor reservations. My main issue was with the clinic on the surgery side itself; the facilities felt a bit outdated and could use an upgrade. For that reason, my recommendation score is a 7. The people are wonderful, but the physical clinic has room for improvement.

But overall I'm really happy with my experience with the ID Clinic team ☺️
Ice was one of the nurses who collected me from the airport. She was so kind for waiting nearly two hours for me due to a delay I had. She helped me so much after my surgery too. Another nurse Marge was wonderful. She helped with translation and my aftercare, she was so gentle when helping take out my stitches. I thank all of the nursing staff, they were all wonderful in their own way and treated me very well. I wish I could have spoken with the doctor more, he always seemed in a rush, I know he is a very busy man but if he could slow down just a bit it would help the patient care factor improve. But overall I'm really happy with my experience with the ID Clinic team ☺️ I only took two pictures of the inside of my overnight room, the clinic was very clean and comfortable and beautiful 🙏
The staff and nurses were exceptional!
Not enough conversation with the doctor, he seemed in a hurry

The surgery is performed at the clinic not at a hospital which concerned me (were they prepared if something went wrong), the rooms opened up to the front desk where people would come for appointments and the toilet was across reception. I felt I didn't have much privacy and was very exposed. Nurses would not always come especially at night when I needed assistance to the toilet. I would be waiting at my hotel for a car and they would have forgotten to send one so the organisation level was not very good. It wasn't a very friendly/caring environment i felt. The communication was very poor too, there was one lady there that spoke English and she never smiled it just didnt feel good. I spoke to the doctor very briefly on surgery day and then he never spoke to me again. I wouldnt go back, ive had surgery in Thailand before and had a far better experience.
The nurses who cleaned my bandages and helped with my compression garments were lovely.
Room quality, upfront about procedures being done in a small operating room at a small clinic not hospital (was about 10 steps from reception), assistance and attentiveness (I didnt get fed after surgery i had to ask for food and they gave me boiled rice, then they also forgot about my breakfast), needs massive improvement in communication and organisation. More support and care. Doctor follow up post surgery should be done.
About Bookimed service
My experience with Bookimed prior to surgery was okay but I was really disappointed with the clinic having had it recommended by Bookimed. There should have been alot I should have been told about prior regarding the clinic and I voiced what was happening but I dont think much will be done about it but I just hope noone else has a similar experience as mine.

Very thorough and attentive medical staff
Very thorough and attentive medical staff. Vip like attention to detail and care. I was apprehensive if this was the right clinic for lipo as most of their services centred around aesthetics fillers and botox and those stuff. Had lipo on my abs and flanks, and I can already see the results after 10 days. Dr Aim really knows what she’s doing. Their BISP clinic is really comfy, they should prob move major procedures there in the future as it’s bigger than the Big C one. Thank you Siam Clinic.
VIP level attention to care and concerns
Maybe just a little cramped clinic at Big C. But just a minor gripe.

Overall, I happy with my liposuction and tummy tuck procedure
My surgeon was excellent however, when I asked about the risks, he didn’t reply. The medical staff/nurses were excellent, however, there was only 1 nurse who spoke English well but she was unavailable for 2 of my medical appointments (not her fault, she was in the OR). As a result, I had to rely on the translator for information. She often didn’t ask other nurses for information, so I felt I wasn’t getting specific medical information related to my recovery but rather general information. In my opinion, this shouldn’t happen and is a shortcoming of the clinic which can easily be rectified through feedback. My other observation is the cost of the procedure changed three times. Bookimed stated “The average cost of Liposuction in Thailand ranges from $2,177 to $6,444.” No currency was listed, I found out from Adam on WhatsApp the currency was THB. That would indicate that bookimed low-balled the cost considerably. Your personal medical coordinator is Dr. Marsela Canameti. The treatment price ranges from $2,000 to $3,500 USD, depending on the specifics of your case. Program description: The patient is good candidate to the Vaser liposuction and tummy tuck surgery . This procedure cost 4500 USD. The day of my surgery, when I was asked to pay, I was told that if I used a credit card, I would have to pay a 3% surcharge. That should have been mentioned on the day of my consultation. The day before, when I paid the $500 USD deposit with my credit card, they didn’t mention a surcharge. I made the maximum payment on my debit card, then they charged my credit card twice and said they didn’t charge me the extra 3%. Overall, I happy with my liposuction and tummy tuck procedure, continue to recover and need to wait 1-2 or months to be fully recovered and see the final result. I would recommend the ID clinic.
The care and empathy demonstrated by the nurses after my procedure

About Bookimed service
Bookimed was often behind/not keeping up with the progress of my case. In the bookimed chat they told me I had to pay $200 for my appointment. I asked why or how to pay but didn’t get an answer. Seems your medical coordinator is currently not in the workplace. Your message is delivered, and they will respond to you as soon as they are back! Your patience is appreciated, In WhatsApp, I was asked if I needed the clinic address. My consultation appointment was at 11am, so by the time I was asked this was 3 hours too late, I already had my consultation and was already at a hospital getting my medical tests. My other observation is the cost of the procedure changed three times. Thank you ID Clinic, I highly recommend
I am happy with the expertise provided by the doctor. He understood and have my needs by explaining his technique in tummy tuck and liposuction and compared other techniques he has used before. Shout out to Ice and Marj who went above and beyond to put me at ease with my procedures. The hotel inclusive of the package was a great touch in being closer to the doctor for pain relief and further enquiries. The doctor structured procedures in different days to ensure that the body can heal between procedures. I will be happy with the result once scarring and swelling have subsided. Thank you ID Clinic, I highly recommend.
That doctor has been in practice for long and knew the best technique to use.
The lack in providing a clear structure of what to expect post healing of which a checklist can be provided to the patient abd provide assurance and further understanding.
About Bookimed service
Bookimed response time was efficient and they communicated to the clinics which they had referred me to about my concerns and pricing. They provided me with 5% off and $100US from procedures from referals that I gave. A middle person is required to advocate for me during tough healing situations.

The team is very caring, and loving. They took care of me as they would of a family member, not just a patient at the clinic. The overall experience was one of the most pleasant I've ever had.

FAQ about Neck liposuction in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is neck liposuction in Thailand safe?

Neck liposuction in Thailand is safe when performed by board-certified plastic surgeons in accredited facilities. Leading Bangkok hospitals maintain JCI and ISO certifications. They follow the same safety standards used in Australia. Specialist surgeons often hold international fellowships from the USA, Canada, and South Korea. They perform thousands of successful contouring procedures every year.

  • Rigorous accreditation: Joint Commission International (JCI) hospitals like Bumrungrad International Hospital meet global clinical safety standards.
  • Expert supervision: Asia Cosmetic Hospital has every operation supervised by both anaesthetists and cardiologists.
  • Specialist training: Surgeons like Dr Tanongsak Panyawirunroj have performed 15,000+ procedures with extensive international training.
  • Hospital technology: Hospitals like Wansiri use touchless automated features and HEPA air filtration to prevent infection.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While small clinics offer lower prices, choosing a full-scale hospital provides a higher safety net. Large facilities like Bumrungrad treat over 1,000,000 patients annually. These hospitals have on-site emergency departments. This infrastructure is essential for managing rare complications that smaller aesthetic clinics cannot handle.

Patient Consensus: Focus on provider qualifications and facility accreditation rather than just the country. Plan a sufficient stay in Thailand for follow-up care. Establish clear emergency contact pathways before travelling home.

What is the difference between weight loss and neck liposuction in Thailand?

Weight loss in Thailand covers body fat reduction through diet or bariatric surgery. In contrast, neck liposuction is a surgical procedure targeting localised fat under the chin. Liposuction provides immediate jawline definition. However, it does not change overall body weight or metabolic health.

  • Primary goal: Weight loss reduces total body mass; neck liposuction exclusively contours the jawline.
  • Clinical approach: Bariatric specialists manage weight loss; plastic surgeons perform neck liposuction.
  • Invasive level: Weight loss can be non-surgical; neck liposuction involves surgical fat removal.
  • Ideal candidate: Neck liposuction suits patients at a stable weight with stubborn chin fat.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Rattinan Medical Center offer both weight loss surgery and neck contouring. Data suggests patients often achieve better jawline results by reaching their goal weight first. This makes sure the surgeon targets permanent fat deposits rather than fluctuating volume.

Patient Consensus: Patients should stabilise their weight before booking neck liposuction in Thailand for best results. Patients note that while the contouring is precise, it cannot fix loose skin.

What advanced techniques are used for neck liposuction in Thailand?

Thailand clinics use minimally invasive techniques like micro-cannula liposculpting and VASER ultrasound-assisted fat removal. These methods focus on precision in the delicate jawline area. Surgeons use thin tubes to reduce swelling and speed up recovery for international patients.

  • Micro-cannula liposculpting: Surgeons use ultra-thin tubes for precision and minimal scarring.
  • VASER technology: Ultrasound waves break down fat while sparing nerves and blood vessels.
  • Local anaesthesia: Procedures often use local anaesthetic with sedation for faster recovery.
  • Laser-assisted liposuction: Heat energy melts fat cells and stimulates collagen to tighten skin.
  • Combined fat grafting: Surgeons like Dr Chen Chaicharncheep offer fat transfer alongside liposuction.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai specialists frequently hold dual certifications from international boards in Korea and the USA. For instance, Dr Chen Chaicharncheep at Dr. Chen Surgery Hospital combines Korean aesthetic techniques with South Peak European training. This expertise often leads to better jawline definition compared to standard methods.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand often report high satisfaction with their immediate jawline definition. Many highlight the benefit of English-speaking coordinators and thorough telehealth follow-up when returning to Australia.

What is the typical recovery timeline for neck liposuction in Thailand?

Most patients return to light activities within 3 to 7 days after neck liposuction in Thailand. Surgeons typically suggest staying 7 to 10 days for suture removal and follow-up checks. While surface bruising vanishes quickly, the new neck contour takes 3 to 6 months to settle.

  • First phase: Mild swelling and bruising occur during the first 3 days after surgery.
  • Compression garment: Patients wear a specialised chin strap 24/7 for the first week.
  • Work return: Desk work and light social activities usually resume 7 days post-procedure.
  • Exercise: Light walking is encouraged after 2 weeks to promote healthy circulation.
  • Final result: Tissue firmness resolves within 3 to 6 months to reveal final results.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Asia Cosmetic Hospital and Wansiri Hospital use theatres with HEPA air filtration. These standards help reduce infection risks during the critical first 48 hours. This is vital for Australians who must fly long-haul shortly after their procedure.

Patient Consensus: Recovery is often less painful than expected. Patients report that the neck can feel hard or lumpy for several weeks. Most feel socially presentable in Thailand after 10 days of healing.

How long should I plan to stay in Thailand after neck liposuction?

Plan for a 7 to 10 day stay in Thailand after neck liposuction. This allows time to manage swelling and attend follow-up appointments. Surgeons at facilities like Bumrungrad International Hospital must monitor healing before your flight to Australia.

  • Clinical review: Schedule a post-operative appointment to check incisions and manage early swelling.
  • Fit to fly: Staying 7+ days reduces risks of fluid collection or discomfort during air travel.
  • Procedural combinations: Extend your stay to 14 days if combining neck work with a facelift.
  • Recovery pace: Most patients return to light activities and desk work within 5 to 7 days.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many Bangkok clinics, including ID Clinic, specialise in microcannula techniques performed under local anaesthesia. This approach often results in less bruising than traditional surgery. Patients using this method may feel ready for light holiday activities much sooner.

Patient Consensus: Booking a 10-day window in Thailand provides a buffer for swelling to settle. Travellers suggest avoiding immediate flights so the surgeon can assess any lumps or fluid before departure.

What is typically included in neck liposuction medical packages in Thailand?

Neck liposuction packages in Thailand typically cover the surgeon, theatre, and anaesthetist fees. Standard inclusions often bundle pre-operative blood tests, a compression garment, and follow-up appointments. Comprehensive packages may also provide private airport transfers and hotel stays.

  • Medical essentials: Covers surgeon fees, anaesthesia, theatre use, and basic pre-operative screenings.
  • Clinical aftercare: Includes initial dressings, 1–2 follow-up checks, and required take-home medications.
  • Patient support: Many clinics provide English-speaking coordinators and help with local logistics.
  • Recovery garments: Most packages include one compression garment essential for neck healing.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Base prices from $700 to $2,900 look straightforward. However, the real value lies in the hospital stay. Large facilities like Bumrungrad International include 24-hour monitoring. Smaller clinics may require you to return to a hotel immediately. Always confirm if the quote includes surgical suites or just a treatment room.

Patient Consensus: Patients find that Thai clinics simplify the process by bundling costs. Most travellers appreciate receiving a clear list of inclusions before flying to Thailand.
