How Much Does Chin Liposuction Cost in Thailand in AUD?

Chin liposuction in Thailand typically costs from AUD $3,123 / ฿A106,185 to AUD $4,827 / ฿A164,105. Final pricing depends on the surgical technique used, clinic accreditation, and whether the procedure is performed in Bangkok, Phuket, or Chiang Mai. Australians save approximately 38% compared to local private fees, which average around AUD $6,388 / ฿A217,197. Standard inclusions often cover surgeon fees, facility use, and post-operative compression garments.

  • BodyTite technology: typically adds 20–30% to the base cost for advanced radiofrequency skin tightening.
  • VASER liposuction: often carries a premium due to specialised ultrasound equipment for smoother results.
  • Anaesthetic choice: general anaesthesia with a specialist anesthesiologist increases costs over local sedation.
  • Facility tier: JCI-accredited hospitals in Bangkok may charge up to 50% more than local aesthetic centres.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a specialised facial clinic can offer superior value over general hospitals. For instance, Charismma Clinic provides packages around A$3,500 that include BodyTite technology for skin tightening. This is highly effective for patients concerned about sagging skin after fat removal. Highly experienced surgeons like Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul have performed over 20,000 procedures, providing the precision needed for complex facial contouring.

The staff were fantastic and supportive through every step
I am noticing some subtle changes to my contour, which is encouraging. The staff were fantastic and supportive through every step. The surgeon was professional, though I had minor reservations. My main issue was with the clinic on the surgery side itself; the facilities felt a bit outdated and could use an upgrade. For that reason, my recommendation score is a 7. The people are wonderful, but the physical clinic has room for improvement.

But overall I'm really happy with my experience with the ID Clinic team ☺️
Ice was one of the nurses who collected me from the airport. She was so kind for waiting nearly two hours for me due to a delay I had. She helped me so much after my surgery too. Another nurse Marge was wonderful. She helped with translation and my aftercare, she was so gentle when helping take out my stitches. I thank all of the nursing staff, they were all wonderful in their own way and treated me very well. I wish I could have spoken with the doctor more, he always seemed in a rush, I know he is a very busy man but if he could slow down just a bit it would help the patient care factor improve. But overall I'm really happy with my experience with the ID Clinic team ☺️ I only took two pictures of the inside of my overnight room, the clinic was very clean and comfortable and beautiful 🙏
The staff and nurses were exceptional!
Not enough conversation with the doctor, he seemed in a hurry

The surgery is performed at the clinic not at a hospital which concerned me (were they prepared if something went wrong), the rooms opened up to the front desk where people would come for appointments and the toilet was across reception. I felt I didn't have much privacy and was very exposed. Nurses would not always come especially at night when I needed assistance to the toilet. I would be waiting at my hotel for a car and they would have forgotten to send one so the organisation level was not very good. It wasn't a very friendly/caring environment i felt. The communication was very poor too, there was one lady there that spoke English and she never smiled it just didnt feel good. I spoke to the doctor very briefly on surgery day and then he never spoke to me again. I wouldnt go back, ive had surgery in Thailand before and had a far better experience.
The nurses who cleaned my bandages and helped with my compression garments were lovely.
Room quality, upfront about procedures being done in a small operating room at a small clinic not hospital (was about 10 steps from reception), assistance and attentiveness (I didnt get fed after surgery i had to ask for food and they gave me boiled rice, then they also forgot about my breakfast), needs massive improvement in communication and organisation. More support and care. Doctor follow up post surgery should be done.
About Bookimed service
My experience with Bookimed prior to surgery was okay but I was really disappointed with the clinic having had it recommended by Bookimed. There should have been alot I should have been told about prior regarding the clinic and I voiced what was happening but I dont think much will be done about it but I just hope noone else has a similar experience as mine.

Very thorough and attentive medical staff
Very thorough and attentive medical staff. Vip like attention to detail and care. I was apprehensive if this was the right clinic for lipo as most of their services centred around aesthetics fillers and botox and those stuff. Had lipo on my abs and flanks, and I can already see the results after 10 days. Dr Aim really knows what she’s doing. Their BISP clinic is really comfy, they should prob move major procedures there in the future as it’s bigger than the Big C one. Thank you Siam Clinic.
VIP level attention to care and concerns
Maybe just a little cramped clinic at Big C. But just a minor gripe.

Overall, I happy with my liposuction and tummy tuck procedure
My surgeon was excellent however, when I asked about the risks, he didn’t reply. The medical staff/nurses were excellent, however, there was only 1 nurse who spoke English well but she was unavailable for 2 of my medical appointments (not her fault, she was in the OR). As a result, I had to rely on the translator for information. She often didn’t ask other nurses for information, so I felt I wasn’t getting specific medical information related to my recovery but rather general information. In my opinion, this shouldn’t happen and is a shortcoming of the clinic which can easily be rectified through feedback. My other observation is the cost of the procedure changed three times. Bookimed stated “The average cost of Liposuction in Thailand ranges from $2,177 to $6,444.” No currency was listed, I found out from Adam on WhatsApp the currency was THB. That would indicate that bookimed low-balled the cost considerably. Your personal medical coordinator is Dr. Marsela Canameti. The treatment price ranges from $2,000 to $3,500 USD, depending on the specifics of your case. Program description: The patient is good candidate to the Vaser liposuction and tummy tuck surgery . This procedure cost 4500 USD. The day of my surgery, when I was asked to pay, I was told that if I used a credit card, I would have to pay a 3% surcharge. That should have been mentioned on the day of my consultation. The day before, when I paid the $500 USD deposit with my credit card, they didn’t mention a surcharge. I made the maximum payment on my debit card, then they charged my credit card twice and said they didn’t charge me the extra 3%. Overall, I happy with my liposuction and tummy tuck procedure, continue to recover and need to wait 1-2 or months to be fully recovered and see the final result. I would recommend the ID clinic.
The care and empathy demonstrated by the nurses after my procedure

About Bookimed service
Bookimed was often behind/not keeping up with the progress of my case. In the bookimed chat they told me I had to pay $200 for my appointment. I asked why or how to pay but didn’t get an answer. Seems your medical coordinator is currently not in the workplace. Your message is delivered, and they will respond to you as soon as they are back! Your patience is appreciated, In WhatsApp, I was asked if I needed the clinic address. My consultation appointment was at 11am, so by the time I was asked this was 3 hours too late, I already had my consultation and was already at a hospital getting my medical tests. My other observation is the cost of the procedure changed three times. Thank you ID Clinic, I highly recommend
I am happy with the expertise provided by the doctor. He understood and have my needs by explaining his technique in tummy tuck and liposuction and compared other techniques he has used before. Shout out to Ice and Marj who went above and beyond to put me at ease with my procedures. The hotel inclusive of the package was a great touch in being closer to the doctor for pain relief and further enquiries. The doctor structured procedures in different days to ensure that the body can heal between procedures. I will be happy with the result once scarring and swelling have subsided. Thank you ID Clinic, I highly recommend.
That doctor has been in practice for long and knew the best technique to use.
The lack in providing a clear structure of what to expect post healing of which a checklist can be provided to the patient abd provide assurance and further understanding.
About Bookimed service
Bookimed response time was efficient and they communicated to the clinics which they had referred me to about my concerns and pricing. They provided me with 5% off and $100US from procedures from referals that I gave. A middle person is required to advocate for me during tough healing situations.

The team is very caring, and loving. They took care of me as they would of a family member, not just a patient at the clinic. The overall experience was one of the most pleasant I've ever had.

FAQ about Chin Liposuction in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Am I a good candidate for chin liposuction in Thailand?

Ideal candidates for chin liposuction in Thailand include adults with firm skin elasticity. They should have localised submental fat beneath the jawline. Success depends on skin that snaps back after fat removal. This is typically seen in patients aged 20 to 50 with stable weights. In Thailand, JCI-accredited hospitals like Yanhee International and Asia Cosmetic Hospital specialise in this procedure.

  • Elasticity requirements: Skin must be firm to prevent sagging after removing the fat.
  • Healthy biological markers: Candidates should be non-smokers in good health for proper blood circulation.
  • Specific fat pockets: The procedure targets stubborn submental fat resistant to diet and exercise.
  • Weight stability: Maintaining a steady weight prevents new fat deposits from altering the jawline.
  • Travel readiness: Patients must stay in-country for 5–7 days before flying home to manage swelling.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many centres in Bangkok now offer BodyTite technology alongside standard suction. Charismma Clinic uses this radiofrequency-assisted approach to tighten skin while removing fat. This is a vital option for patients who might otherwise need a neck lift.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand report high satisfaction when their primary concern is fat. They often highlight the professional care at Bangkok hubs. They also note the importance of clear instructions for managing recovery successfully.

Are the results of chin liposuction in Thailand permanent?

Chin liposuction results in Thailand are permanent because the procedure removes fat cells from the submental area. Specialists in Bangkok and Phuket use techniques like VASER or BodyTite to extract these cells. These fat cells cannot regenerate or grow back.

  • Fat cell removal: Extracted submental fat cells are gone forever after surgical suction.
  • Remaining cell expansion: Surrounding fat cells can still enlarge if significant weight gain occurs.
  • Skin tightening: Technologies like BodyTite at Charismma Clinic help skin contract after fat removal.
  • Ageing factors: Natural skin laxity or muscle sagging over time can alter the jawline.
  • Weight stability: Maintaining a steady weight is vital to preserve the surgical contour.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics often bundle skin-tightening technology with liposuction so results last as patients age. Standard lipo costs from $2,200. Choosing a package with radiofrequency-assisted tightening (BodyTite) provides a dual-action result. This is a smart choice for Australians wanting to prevent future skin sagging.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand report that fat cells do not return to the jawline. They find results stay sharp for years when they maintain their weight. Following surgical aftercare plans also helps maintain the look.

What is the timeline for recovery and seeing final results after chin liposuction in Thailand?

Patients typically complete basic surgical recovery within 7 days. This allows for safe travel back to Australia. Early jawline definition appears by weeks 3 to 4 as swelling subsides. Final results develop between 3 to 6 months post-surgery after tissues fully settle.

  • Hospital stay: Most clinics perform this under local anaesthesia as a day procedure.
  • Suture removal: Surgeons typically remove non-dissolvable stitches between days 4 and 5.
  • Flight clearance: Patients must stay in Thailand for 7+ days to prevent flight-related swelling.
  • Compression wear: Continuous use of a chin strap is required for the first week.
  • Work return: Most patients resume office-based work within 5 to 7 days post-procedure.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic liposuction is standard, some Bangkok clinics bundle BodyTite technology into their packages. This radiofrequency treatment provides skin tightening. It helps prevent "sagging" skin some patients experience with fat removal alone. Selecting a surgeon like Dr Chokchai Amornsawadwattana, who trained at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, can also help Australians returning home.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand describe the process as professional with results that appear gradually. They suggest allowing time for initial swelling to fade before judging the final jawline shape.

How is the chin liposuction surgery performed in Thailand?

Chin liposuction in Thailand is a minimally invasive surgical procedure. Surgeons remove submental fat through 2–3 millimetre incisions hidden under the chin or behind earlobes. Techniques like BodyTite or VASER liquefy fat and tighten skin for a sharper jawline profile.

  • Anaesthesia administration: Usually performed under local anaesthesia with sedation for a comfortable experience.
  • Tumescent fluid injection: Specialists inject saline with lidocaine to firm fat and minimise bruising.
  • Energy-assisted technology: Systems like BodyTite or VASER break down fat cells while tightening skin.
  • Precise sculpting: Surgeons use thin microcannulas to suction liquefied fat and refine the jawline.
  • Post-op compression: Patients wear a specialised chin garment to reduce swelling and support healing.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics often distinguish packages by the skin tightening technology used. Standard liposuction costs from $2,200. Premium options at clinics like Charismma bundle BodyTite. This technology helps older patients prevent sagging skin after fat removal.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand appreciate the professional care. They often report manageable swelling rather than pain. Most confirm that procedures under local anaesthesia allow for a quick recovery.

Are there language barriers that could impact my medical care during chin liposuction in Thailand?

Thailand is a global hub for medical tourism. Language barriers rarely impact surgery in accredited facilities. Leading clinics in Bangkok and Chiang Mai employ surgeons with training in Australia, the US, and Europe. These surgeons speak fluent English. Communication gaps are most common among junior nursing and administrative staff during recovery.

  • Accredited hospitals: Facilities like Yanhee International Hospital and Asia Cosmetic Hospital maintain JCI standards for communication.
  • Clinical training: Surgeons such as Dr Chokchai Amornsawadwattana have completed training at Royal Melbourne Hospital.
  • International experience: Dr Thanakom Laisakul at Asia Cosmetic Hospital has professional medical experience specifically within Australia.
  • Aftercare support: While surgeons speak English, patients should request written recovery instructions in English for nurses.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows that clinics serving 4,000+ international patients annually offer a seamless experience. This includes centres like Wansiri Hospital or ID Clinic. These larger centres provide dedicated bilingual coordinators for support from the first consultation through to follow-up.

Patient Consensus: Clinics in Thailand are highly professional. English works well for the surgery. However, a typed medical summary helps when talking to nursing staff during recovery.
