If you're travelling to Bangkok and need fast and quality care, I would highly recommend using Bookimed to set up an appointment and going to B
Everything went so smoothly and I was well taken care of upon arrival. B. Care Medical Center is very clean and beautiful. The medical team were very professional and thorough and warm and welcoming. Prices were very reasonable and they went above and beyond to give me more treatment than I had asked for. Bookimed was also very easy to use, response time was quick and easy and all my questions were answered promptly. If you're travelling to Bangkok and need fast and quality care, I would highly recommend using Bookimed to set up an appointment and going to B. Care Medical Center for your medical needs.

The team followed through on every detail discussed
Sitting in the consultation room while the surgeon explained the precise use of 50-100 million umbilical cord stem cells gave me a clear sense of the technical path ahead. Fifteen days after the treatment, I am already noticing some improvement in my overall physical state. The application was smooth, and I experienced no injection site reactions or inflammatory flare-ups afterward. Recovery is just beginning. Every interaction with the clinic staff was handled with professional efficiency, ensuring that the logistical side of the medical travel was as controlled as the procedure itself. It is important to stay patient during this early window while the body starts to respond to the cells. The team followed through on every detail discussed.
Josh and team had fantastic thorough communication
Not sure... give me extra stem cells. Maybe have more food?

It was a terrible experience which I never want to go through again. Upon arrival at the hospital, the consultant , Jeab who led me there was not present to receive me. Instead I was attended by the medical sstaff who flatly shot down the agreed quotations offered by Jeab and even said they do not need the VDO anymore so they could not offer me what Jeab did and I was told I had to pay 3 times the proce of what I was offered before. Consequent to the price dispute, there were lots of bleak moments between the consultant and the medical staff internally then I was made to wait for over two hours then they suddenly reversed to ask for VDO compromised on an agreed price. I repeated said no to revealing my face for the VDO and the secretary Kimmy assured me my face will not be shown on camera. Prior to seeing the doctor, I was told to made payment first. For every doctor consultation, I had to go to the cashier to complete the payment and I was seeing two different doctors meant I had to repeat same process twice touring the entire medical centre so many times. What was most stupid was that I was never informed that I had to pay out of pocket for the Covid-9 test which I deem really unfair when there was konsixh prior information and they just dumped all the hidden cost on me. I only did the arm Vader+body tite along with pick laser for vaginal and I was made to go from building to building spending 7 hours there the entire day is really uncalled for!!!

I went to this clinic to get medical care. The very high price could be justified by this type of treatment. The medical team were present, but no parameters were taken either before or after the treatment. I don't think that customer satisfaction is the objective, the aim is above all to make people spend money unnecessarily. I would not recommend this clinic

I'm pleased I went there
Well it's been about a month and I'm still recovering but I'm pleased I went there.
The people were nice
What I didn't like wasn't to do with the place or people. I went through quite a painful procedure getting rid of rather a lot of moles and I almost wished I hadn't when I was in pain. It's all changed now that I'm healing.

FAQ about Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Skin Treatment in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) skin treatment in Thailand safe for all skin types?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) skin treatment in Thailand is not safe for all skin types. While effective for rejuvenation, patients with deeper skin tones (Fitzpatrick types IV–VI) face risks of burns and hyperpigmentation. JCI-accredited clinics in Bangkok use specialist screening for suitable candidates.

  • Skin tone risk: People with darker skin tones risk severe burns due to high melanin absorption.
  • Hair colour limits: Treatment is ineffective on blonde, red, or grey hair lacking sufficient pigment.
  • Medical exclusions: Patients using photosensitising antibiotics or Accutane must wait 6 months before having IPL.
  • Active conditions: Eczema, infections, or open sores prevent safe treatment until the skin has healed.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand is a major hub with over 150 facilities offering IPL. However, safety depends on the provider. Experienced specialists like Dr Ariyapon Lortaraprasert at Navamin9 Hospital have performed over 10,000+ aesthetic procedures. This experience helps practitioners correctly calibrate device settings. This is more critical for safety than the technology itself.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand recommend asking for a patch test and a formal Fitzpatrick scale assessment. Experience shows that outcomes are best when clinics provide a thorough consultation. They should also explain pigmentation risks clearly.

How do I choose the best clinic for Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) skin treatment in Thailand?

Choosing a clinic for Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) in Thailand requires checking for board-certified dermatologists and medical accreditations. Leading Bangkok centres, such as Navamin9 Hospital, maintain Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. This global gold standard requires rigorous clinical safety and hygiene protocols.

  • Practitioner expertise: Verify specialists like Dr Ariyapon Lortaraprasert, who holds international aesthetic medicine certifications.
  • Clinical accreditation: Identify facilities with JCI or ISO seals for high hospital-standard safety.
  • Technology standards: Confirm the use of FDA-approved devices rather than unbranded beauty-grade machines.
  • Comprehensive assessment: Check that providers conduct skin typing and patch tests before full treatment.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many centres market IPL as a standalone service. However, top-rated Bangkok clinics often pair it with regenerative therapies. STC Clinic combines light treatments with exosome or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapies. This approach typically speeds up skin repair and improves long-term results.

Patient Consensus: Patients suggest choosing providers that offer clear aftercare instructions and guidance on sun avoidance. Many recommend verifying who operates the device. They also suggest requesting a test spot to ensure settings suit your skin tone.

What kind of skin concerns can I treat with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) in Thailand?

Intense Pulsed Light in Thailand effectively treats sun damage, freckles, age spots, and facial redness. It is often used for rosacea or broken capillaries. Specialist clinics in Bangkok and Phuket use light-based therapy to target excess melanin. This improves skin tone with minimal recovery time.

  • Pigmentation issues: Fades sunspots, age spots, and freckles by targeting melanin.
  • Vascular concerns: Reduces redness from rosacea and collapses visible spider veins.
  • Acne management: Targets bacteria causing breakouts and reduces post-inflammatory marks.
  • Skin rejuvenation: Improves dullness and uneven tone for a refreshed appearance.
  • Acne scar relief: Specialised light settings help fade red or brown scarring.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok clinics like Navamin9 Hospital serve over 500,000 patients annually. They often hold JCI accreditation. This high volume means dermatologists like Dr Ariyapon Lortaraprasert have extensive experience with various skin types. Patients should note that IPL costs from $300. Deep texture issues often require adding HIFU or Ulthera for better results.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand report excellent results for flushing and redness. Many recommend confirming if the treatment targets pigment or vessels before starting. The procedure fits easily into travel plans. Most people find it is a quick way to freshen up their skin during a holiday.

How many Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) sessions will I need in Thailand?

Patients in Thailand typically need 3 to 6 Intense Pulsed Light sessions for skin rejuvenation. Specialists often space these treatments 3 to 4 weeks apart to allow skin healing. Severe pigmentation or hair removal might require up to 12 sessions for permanent results.

  • Rejuvenation course: Most clinics recommend 3–5 sessions for treating sun spots and redness.
  • Hair removal timeline: Permanent hair reduction usually requires 6–12 separate sessions.
  • Treatment spacing: Clinics schedule appointments every 21–28 days to match skin cell turnover.
  • Session cost: Prices in Thailand range from $300 to $600 per session.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Leading Bangkok facilities like Navamin9 Hospital often suggest combining IPL with exosome therapy. Data shows these additions can reduce the total sessions needed by accelerating skin restoration.

Patient Consensus: Expect a course of treatments rather than a single session to see results. Patients recommend getting a written plan from the clinician to confirm maintenance and device settings.

What is the expected recovery time (downtime) after Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment in Thailand?

IPL recovery in Thailand is virtually immediate. Patients can resume normal activities right after their session. Mild redness or a sunburn-like sensation typically settles within 4 to 24 hours. While skin completely heals in 7 to 10 days, this is a non-surgical lunchtime procedure.

  • Immediate activity: Patients return to work or socialise same-day.
  • Pigment changes: Brown spots darken before flaking off naturally like coffee grounds.
  • UV protection: Strict application of SPF 30+ is mandatory in the Thai heat.
  • Visual markers: Mineral makeup masks temporary redness after the 30–45 minute session.
  • Full healing: Surface texture and tone typically stabilise within 1 week.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Navamin9 Hospital often use IPL with medical-grade dermatology care. High-volume centres perform thousands of sessions annually. This leads to predictable outcomes with less risk of thermal injury or swelling.

Patient Consensus: Recovery is quick in Thailand, usually involving a few hours of mild flushing. Patients find that spots darken temporarily, but the resulting glow makes the wait worth it.

How long do the results of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment in Thailand last?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) results in Thailand typically last between 6 months and 1 year. Longevity depends on sun protection and lifestyle. New pigmentation can develop over time. Many patients maintain their skin through maintenance sessions following an initial course of 4–6 treatments.

  • Treatment duration: Standard sessions usually finish within 30 minutes for a full face.
  • Initial recovery: Mild redness often fades within 4 to 24 hours after treatment.
  • Pigment changes: Target spots darken temporarily before naturally fading within 7–10 days.
  • Sun protection: Daily high-SPF sunscreen is essential to prevent new sun spots.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand is a high-volume destination with over 150 facilities offering IPL. Clinic scale varies significantly. While Navamin9 Hospital serves 500,000+ patients annually, smaller boutique clinics like STC Clinic offer personalised care for roughly 1,500 patients per year.

Patient Consensus: Results for redness and sun spots are excellent. However, they require strict sun avoidance to last. Patients in Thailand recommend planning for top-up sessions back home to keep the skin clear.
