My strongest feeling right now is one of being disappointed and scammed. The total costs nearly doubled, jumping from the $2000 USD Bookimed total to $5000 once I was at the clinic. The fractional CO2 laser treatment I received on my face and neck also wasn't what I originally requested; the doctor suggested changing it only after I had already arrived, which should have been communicated much earlier. While the clinic staff themselves were fine and have stayed in touch, the experience with the surgeon and the finances was poor. Make sure the treatment promised on Bookimed is the same one you're getting at the clinic. I would avoid this dermatologist and Wansiri.
The customer service at the clinic was great and the staff was very kind.
Patient Complaint Regarding Treatment Plan and Communication at Wansiri I am documenting my concerns regarding the communication, treatment planning, and services I received at Wansiri. Before my appointment, I specifically requested the following treatments: * Ablative CO2 laser treatment for the full face and décolletage * Ultherapy for the full face The estimated total cost discussed was approximately USD 2,000. The doctor agreed to this proposed treatment plan, and I confirmed that I wished to proceed based on that agreement. However, on the day of the scheduled treatment, the doctor informed me that she did not want to perform any CO2 laser treatment on my face. This was a significant change from the treatment plan that had previously been discussed and agreed upon. Instead, the doctor and coordinator recommended a different package consisting of: * Thermage treatment around the eyes * Ultherapy for the full face * Microneedling The revised package cost approximately USD 5,000, which was more than double the original estimate. My primary concerns were not adequately addressed. In particular: * No CO2 laser treatment was performed on my face. * No treatment was provided for my décolletage. * The crepey skin around my eyes, which was one of my main concerns, was not adequately addressed. * The treatment plan was substantially changed on the day of the procedure, after I had already traveled to and committed to receiving treatment at the clinic. * The reasons for changing the original treatment plan were not clearly explained before the appointment. * I was presented with considerably more expensive alternatives without adequate time to consider the change or seek another medical opinion. I relied on the doctor’s prior agreement when deciding to proceed with treatment at Wansiri. Had I been informed in advance that the doctor would not perform CO2 laser treatment on my face or décolletage, I could have reconsidered the appointment, consulted another provider, or made a more informed decision. As a result, I felt pressured into accepting a treatment package that was significantly more expensive than the original estimate and that did not adequately address the skin concerns for which I sought treatment. I left feeling that the communication had been misleading and that I had not received the treatment plan I had originally agreed to. I believe communication between the doctor, coordinator, and patient should be improved. Any changes to an agreed treatment plan, particularly changes involving substantially different procedures and costs, should be clearly communicated before the patient arrives for treatment. I am requesting a written explanation of: 1. Why the originally agreed CO2 laser treatment was declined on the day of treatment. 2. Why I was not informed of this change before the appointment. 3. Why no treatment was provided for my décolletage. 4. How the recommended treatments were intended to address the crepey skin around my eyes. 5. Why the final cost increased from approximately USD 2,000 to approximately USD 5,000. 6. What resolution or compensation the clinic proposes regarding the difference between the agreed treatment plan and the services ultimately provided.

If you're travelling to Bangkok and need fast and quality care, I would highly recommend using Bookimed to set up an appointment and going to B
Everything went so smoothly and I was well taken care of upon arrival. B. Care Medical Center is very clean and beautiful. The medical team were very professional and thorough and warm and welcoming. Prices were very reasonable and they went above and beyond to give me more treatment than I had asked for. Bookimed was also very easy to use, response time was quick and easy and all my questions were answered promptly. If you're travelling to Bangkok and need fast and quality care, I would highly recommend using Bookimed to set up an appointment and going to B. Care Medical Center for your medical needs.

It was a terrible experience which I never want to go through again. Upon arrival at the hospital, the consultant , Jeab who led me there was not present to receive me. Instead I was attended by the medical sstaff who flatly shot down the agreed quotations offered by Jeab and even said they do not need the VDO anymore so they could not offer me what Jeab did and I was told I had to pay 3 times the proce of what I was offered before. Consequent to the price dispute, there were lots of bleak moments between the consultant and the medical staff internally then I was made to wait for over two hours then they suddenly reversed to ask for VDO compromised on an agreed price. I repeated said no to revealing my face for the VDO and the secretary Kimmy assured me my face will not be shown on camera. Prior to seeing the doctor, I was told to made payment first. For every doctor consultation, I had to go to the cashier to complete the payment and I was seeing two different doctors meant I had to repeat same process twice touring the entire medical centre so many times. What was most stupid was that I was never informed that I had to pay out of pocket for the Covid-9 test which I deem really unfair when there was konsixh prior information and they just dumped all the hidden cost on me. I only did the arm Vader+body tite along with pick laser for vaginal and I was made to go from building to building spending 7 hours there the entire day is really uncalled for!!!

The team followed through on every detail discussed
Sitting in the consultation room while the surgeon explained the precise use of 50-100 million umbilical cord stem cells gave me a clear sense of the technical path ahead. Fifteen days after the treatment, I am already noticing some improvement in my overall physical state. The application was smooth, and I experienced no injection site reactions or inflammatory flare-ups afterward. Recovery is just beginning. Every interaction with the clinic staff was handled with professional efficiency, ensuring that the logistical side of the medical travel was as controlled as the procedure itself. It is important to stay patient during this early window while the body starts to respond to the cells. The team followed through on every detail discussed.
Josh and team had fantastic thorough communication

I went to this clinic to get medical care. The very high price could be justified by this type of treatment. The medical team were present, but no parameters were taken either before or after the treatment. I don't think that customer satisfaction is the objective, the aim is above all to make people spend money unnecessarily. I would not recommend this clinic

I'm pleased I went there
Well it's been about a month and I'm still recovering but I'm pleased I went there.
The people were nice
What I didn't like wasn't to do with the place or people. I went through quite a painful procedure getting rid of rather a lot of moles and I almost wished I hadn't when I was in pain. It's all changed now that I'm healing.

FAQ about Red Light Therapy in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is Red Light Therapy considered safe for Australians travelling to Thailand?

Red Light Therapy is safe for Australians travelling to Thailand when done by qualified professionals in clinics using certified devices. The therapy is non-invasive, requires no anaesthetic or hospital stay, and involves eye protection during treatment to prevent damage.

  • Certified clinics: Department of Skin & Surgery - NAVAMIN9 Hospital is JCI-accredited in Bangkok.
  • Device standards: Uses 630–660 nm wavelength red light, proven safe and effective.
  • Non-invasive procedure: No anaesthesia or recovery downtime needed; normal activities resume immediately.
  • Eye safety: Clinics provide goggles to protect eyes from light exposure during therapy.
  • Combination therapy: Some clinics offer Red Light Therapy alongside Shockwave and PRP treatments.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Most Thai clinics offering Red Light Therapy apply internationally recognised safety standards like JCI accreditation. Clinics in Bangkok lead in quality, serving hundreds of thousands yearly. While standalone sessions cost from $200 to $400, combined therapies at clinics like Eternity Clinic Pleonchit offer broader treatment options. Australians benefit from eye protection and certified devices to avoid risks seen with cheap, uncertified units.

Patient Consensus: Australian patients note Red Light Therapy is safe and comfortable in Thailand when performed by experienced staff. Professionals always provide eye protection, making sessions worry-free. Patients recommend avoiding gadgets under A$200, as clinics use better, certified devices ensuring safe, effective results.

What is Red Light Therapy used for in Thailand for Australian medical tourists?

Red Light Therapy in Thailand helps Australians mainly with skin healing, reducing inflammation, acne, and hair growth. Clinics use medically validated devices for photobiomodulation, promoting collagen and easing skin redness. It’s popular as a non-surgical, pain-free treatment that requires no hospital stay.

  • Skin healing: reduces inflammation and speeds recovery of wounds and pimples.
  • Acne and rosacea: helps ease redness and inflammation with consistent sessions.
  • Hair growth: modest improvement but needs daily, repeated use of devices.
  • Non-surgical approach: no anaesthesia or hospital stay required for treatment.
  • Clinics: Bangkok’s NAVAMIN9 Hospital offers JCI-accredited skin therapy services.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many Thai clinics combine Red Light Therapy with other wellness treatments like PRP for more effective results. Australian patients value clear explanation about device quality, as authentic Red Light devices greatly outperform cheaper LED imitators. Bangkok clinics hold international accreditations confirming treatment safety and expertise.

Patient Consensus: Australians say Thailand’s Red Light Therapy helped clear skin redness and inflammation. Many find using home devices more practical for hair growth than occasional clinic visits. Consistent treatment shows the best results, with clinics recommending clear treatment plans before starting.

Where can Australians find professional Red Light Therapy clinics in Bangkok, Thailand?

Australians can find professional Red Light Therapy in Bangkok mainly at clinics specialising in post-operative care for hair transplants and liposuction. These clinics provide daily 30-minute sessions for 7 to 14 days to aid recovery and graft growth under medical supervision.

  • Primary use: Post-surgical healing after hair transplants and liposuction.
  • Session length: Approximately 30 minutes daily during first 7–14 days post-operation.
  • Clinics with therapy: Absolute Hair Clinic, Hairtran Clinic, DHT Clinic.
  • Safety: Medical-grade devices prevent eye damage; professional oversight required.
  • Standalone therapy: Rarely offered without an accompanying surgical procedure.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Red Light Therapy in Bangkok is closely tied to surgery recovery rather than standalone wellness care. Clinics like Eternity Clinic offer integrated approaches that combine red light with shockwave and PRP, boosting effectiveness for specific conditions. Australians often access the therapy by booking hair transplant or liposuction procedures, which ensures proper supervision and device quality.

Patient Consensus: Australians notice faster healing with daily red light sessions after surgery in Bangkok. They advise sticking to medically certified centres and being ready to skip optional extras like cell or oxygen therapies, which can add cost but are not essential to recovery.
