How Much Does Acne Laser Treatment (per session) Cost in Thailand in AUD?

Acne laser treatment (per session) in Thailand typically costs from AUD $288 / ฿A9,796 to AUD $576 / ฿A19,592. The final price depends on the chosen technology, such as Picosecond or CO2 lasers, and the total area treated. In Australia, patients usually pay AUD $576 / ฿A19,592 on average for similar clinical outcomes. By travelling to hubs like Bangkok or Pattaya, Australians can save approximately 25%. Most sessions include a consultation, topical anaesthetic, and post-laser soothing care.

  • Picosecond laser: typically costs between 15% and 25% more than standard IPL treatments.
  • CO2 fractional laser: provides intensive resurfacing for deep scarring at a slightly higher price point.
  • IPL therapy: remains a cost-effective option for targeting active acne redness and inflammation.
  • Package bundles: purchasing three to six sessions upfront often reduces the cost by 20–30%.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While single sessions are affordable, the best value for Australians lies in bundled packages. Larger facilities in Bangkok, such as Asia Cosmetic Hospital, hold JCI accreditation, which ensures international safety standards. Specialists like Dr. Pimpa Tantanasrigul bring global expertise from the UK and Japan to these procedures. Choosing a clinic that serves a high volume of international patients usually ensures better inclusive pricing for post-treatment skin recovery kits.

Data verified by Bookimed as of July 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 55 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

The team followed through on every detail discussed
Sitting in the consultation room while the surgeon explained the precise use of 50-100 million umbilical cord stem cells gave me a clear sense of the technical path ahead. Fifteen days after the treatment, I am already noticing some improvement in my overall physical state. The application was smooth, and I experienced no injection site reactions or inflammatory flare-ups afterward. Recovery is just beginning. Every interaction with the clinic staff was handled with professional efficiency, ensuring that the logistical side of the medical travel was as controlled as the procedure itself. It is important to stay patient during this early window while the body starts to respond to the cells. The team followed through on every detail discussed.

If you're travelling to Bangkok and need fast and quality care, I would highly recommend using Bookimed to set up an appointment and going to B
Everything went so smoothly and I was well taken care of upon arrival. B. Care Medical Center is very clean and beautiful. The medical team were very professional and thorough and warm and welcoming. Prices were very reasonable and they went above and beyond to give me more treatment than I had asked for. Bookimed was also very easy to use, response time was quick and easy and all my questions were answered promptly. If you're travelling to Bangkok and need fast and quality care, I would highly recommend using Bookimed to set up an appointment and going to B. Care Medical Center for your medical needs.

It was a terrible experience which I never want to go through again. Upon arrival at the hospital, the consultant , Jeab who led me there was not present to receive me. Instead I was attended by the medical sstaff who flatly shot down the agreed quotations offered by Jeab and even said they do not need the VDO anymore so they could not offer me what Jeab did and I was told I had to pay 3 times the proce of what I was offered before. Consequent to the price dispute, there were lots of bleak moments between the consultant and the medical staff internally then I was made to wait for over two hours then they suddenly reversed to ask for VDO compromised on an agreed price. I repeated said no to revealing my face for the VDO and the secretary Kimmy assured me my face will not be shown on camera. Prior to seeing the doctor, I was told to made payment first. For every doctor consultation, I had to go to the cashier to complete the payment and I was seeing two different doctors meant I had to repeat same process twice touring the entire medical centre so many times. What was most stupid was that I was never informed that I had to pay out of pocket for the Covid-9 test which I deem really unfair when there was konsixh prior information and they just dumped all the hidden cost on me. I only did the arm Vader+body tite along with pick laser for vaginal and I was made to go from building to building spending 7 hours there the entire day is really uncalled for!!!

I went to this clinic to get medical care. The very high price could be justified by this type of treatment. The medical team were present, but no parameters were taken either before or after the treatment. I don't think that customer satisfaction is the objective, the aim is above all to make people spend money unnecessarily. I would not recommend this clinic

I'm pleased I went there
Well it's been about a month and I'm still recovering but I'm pleased I went there.
The people were nice
What I didn't like wasn't to do with the place or people. I went through quite a painful procedure getting rid of rather a lot of moles and I almost wished I hadn't when I was in pain. It's all changed now that I'm healing.

FAQ about Acne Laser Treatment (per session) in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is acne laser treatment in Thailand painful and what is the typical downtime?

Acne laser treatment in Thailand is typically manageable rather than severely painful. Clinics routinely apply topical numbing cream for 45 to 60 minutes before the procedure. Downtime ranges from 1 to 3 days for non-ablative lasers. Deeper fractional CO2 treatments require up to 10 days.

  • Technique impact: Discomfort varies from mild rubber-band snaps to significant heat during ablative passes.
  • Picosecond recovery: Mild redness and tiny spots usually resolve within 1 to 3 days.
  • Fractional CO2: Expect 7 to 10 days of downtime, including swelling and peeling.
  • Climate protection: Strict sun avoidance is essential post-laser to prevent hyperpigmentation in the tropical sun.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s leading dermatology centres often employ specialists with international training. Dr Pimpa Tantanasrigul at Wansiri Hospital holds a Master’s from Imperial College London. She also completed a fellowship in laser surgery. This expertise ensures settings are precisely calibrated for different skin types. This reduces the risk of burns while maintaining effectiveness.

Patient Consensus: Most describe the sensation as uncomfortable stinging or heat managed well with cooling devices. Many find their skin remains red longer than advertised. It is wise to allow extra buffer days before social events.

Which laser technology is best for active acne vs. acne scars in Thailand?

Active acne in Thailand is best treated with sebaceous-regulating lasers like AviClear or 1726 nm diodes to stop oil production. Acne scars require fractional technologies, such as PicoWay or Erbium:YAG, for skin remodelling. Specialist dermatologists in Bangkok prioritise these devices to minimise hyperpigmentation risks for Australian patients with darker skin tones.

  • Active acne: AviClear or Accure lasers shrink oil glands to prevent new breakouts.
  • Inflammatory lesions: Dual Yellow or Vbeam lasers target bacteria and calm redness.
  • Pitted scars: PicoSecond lasers (PicoWay) trigger collagen growth with minimal 2-day downtime.
  • Deep scarring: Erbium:YAG offers safer resurfacing than CO2 for Fitzpatrick III–V skin.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Leading Bangkok hospitals like Wansiri Hospital and Bumrungrad International Hospital serve over 1,000,000 patients annually. They often pair Fractional Pico lasers with subcision to lift tethered scars. This dual approach improves texture more effectively than using a single laser alone.

Patient Consensus: Patients suggest confirming whether a device targets active inflammation or structural pitting before booking. Thai treatment plans often involve different methods for oil control versus collagen-stimulating resurfacing.

How many acne laser sessions are usually needed to see clear results in Thailand?

Clear results from acne laser treatments in Thailand typically require 3 to 6 sessions. Active breakouts often respond within 3 sessions using Intense Pulsed Light or Picosecond lasers. Deep structural acne scarring generally needs 4 to 6 intensive resurfacing sessions for optimal results.

  • Active acne: 3–6 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart manage inflammation and oil.
  • Pitted scarring: 3–6 sessions of Fractional CO2 or non-ablative lasers rebuild skin texture.
  • Aggressive resurfacing: Fractional CO2 lasers may deliver significant results in 1–3 sessions.
  • Result timeline: Oil reduction appears in 2–3 weeks; scars improve over 3–6 months.
  • Session cost: Treatments range from $200 to $400 per individual session.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many Australian clinics offer general laser services. However, Bangkok centres like Wansiri Hospital and Asia Cosmetic Hospital have American Board of Laser Surgery certified specialists. These clinics integrate light therapy with high-standard filtration systems. This focus on dermatological technology often reduces the sessions needed compared to multi-purpose aesthetic clinics.

Patient Consensus: Clear skin in Thailand comes gradually through multiple sessions rather than one visit. Patients highlight that targets like redness or scarring require different plans. Most recommend confirming the full course duration with a GP or specialist before travelling.

Can international tourists get acne laser treatments in Thailand during a short trip?

International tourists can easily access acne laser treatments in Thailand during short trips. Major centres like Bumrungrad International Hospital and specialised dermatology clinics offer walk-in or fast-appointment protocols. Treatments typically cost from $200 to $400 per session. This saves patients up to 40% compared to Australian averages.

  • Treatment speed: Many Bangkok clinics offer same-day consultations and laser sessions for tourists.
  • Laser variety: Providers use IPL, fractional, and vascular lasers to target active acne or scarring.
  • Expert care: Specialists like Dr Pimpa Tantanasrigul hold international fellowships in cutaneous and laser surgery.
  • Accredited facilities: Large hospitals such as Asia Cosmetic Hospital maintain JCI and ISO certifications.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While single sessions are accessible, Bookimed data shows the best results come from clinics offering adjunctive therapies. Dr Chen Surgery Hospital International Center combines laser work with hyperbaric oxygen therapy to speed up healing. This is vital for Australians who need to fly home shortly after treatment.

Patient Consensus: Tourists in Thailand find booking quick appointments simple. Most suggest leaving a few days buffer before flying. Confirming the specific laser type during the initial consultation ensures the treatment matches their skin goals.
