My strongest feeling right now is one of being disappointed and scammed. The total costs nearly doubled, jumping from the $2000 USD Bookimed total to $5000 once I was at the clinic. The fractional CO2 laser treatment I received on my face and neck also wasn't what I originally requested; the doctor suggested changing it only after I had already arrived, which should have been communicated much earlier. While the clinic staff themselves were fine and have stayed in touch, the experience with the surgeon and the finances was poor. Make sure the treatment promised on Bookimed is the same one you're getting at the clinic. I would avoid this dermatologist and Wansiri.
The customer service at the clinic was great and the staff was very kind.
Patient Complaint Regarding Treatment Plan and Communication at Wansiri I am documenting my concerns regarding the communication, treatment planning, and services I received at Wansiri. Before my appointment, I specifically requested the following treatments: * Ablative CO2 laser treatment for the full face and décolletage * Ultherapy for the full face The estimated total cost discussed was approximately USD 2,000. The doctor agreed to this proposed treatment plan, and I confirmed that I wished to proceed based on that agreement. However, on the day of the scheduled treatment, the doctor informed me that she did not want to perform any CO2 laser treatment on my face. This was a significant change from the treatment plan that had previously been discussed and agreed upon. Instead, the doctor and coordinator recommended a different package consisting of: * Thermage treatment around the eyes * Ultherapy for the full face * Microneedling The revised package cost approximately USD 5,000, which was more than double the original estimate. My primary concerns were not adequately addressed. In particular: * No CO2 laser treatment was performed on my face. * No treatment was provided for my décolletage. * The crepey skin around my eyes, which was one of my main concerns, was not adequately addressed. * The treatment plan was substantially changed on the day of the procedure, after I had already traveled to and committed to receiving treatment at the clinic. * The reasons for changing the original treatment plan were not clearly explained before the appointment. * I was presented with considerably more expensive alternatives without adequate time to consider the change or seek another medical opinion. I relied on the doctor’s prior agreement when deciding to proceed with treatment at Wansiri. Had I been informed in advance that the doctor would not perform CO2 laser treatment on my face or décolletage, I could have reconsidered the appointment, consulted another provider, or made a more informed decision. As a result, I felt pressured into accepting a treatment package that was significantly more expensive than the original estimate and that did not adequately address the skin concerns for which I sought treatment. I left feeling that the communication had been misleading and that I had not received the treatment plan I had originally agreed to. I believe communication between the doctor, coordinator, and patient should be improved. Any changes to an agreed treatment plan, particularly changes involving substantially different procedures and costs, should be clearly communicated before the patient arrives for treatment. I am requesting a written explanation of: 1. Why the originally agreed CO2 laser treatment was declined on the day of treatment. 2. Why I was not informed of this change before the appointment. 3. Why no treatment was provided for my décolletage. 4. How the recommended treatments were intended to address the crepey skin around my eyes. 5. Why the final cost increased from approximately USD 2,000 to approximately USD 5,000. 6. What resolution or compensation the clinic proposes regarding the difference between the agreed treatment plan and the services ultimately provided.

If you're travelling to Bangkok and need fast and quality care, I would highly recommend using Bookimed to set up an appointment and going to B
Everything went so smoothly and I was well taken care of upon arrival. B. Care Medical Center is very clean and beautiful. The medical team were very professional and thorough and warm and welcoming. Prices were very reasonable and they went above and beyond to give me more treatment than I had asked for. Bookimed was also very easy to use, response time was quick and easy and all my questions were answered promptly. If you're travelling to Bangkok and need fast and quality care, I would highly recommend using Bookimed to set up an appointment and going to B. Care Medical Center for your medical needs.

It was a terrible experience which I never want to go through again. Upon arrival at the hospital, the consultant , Jeab who led me there was not present to receive me. Instead I was attended by the medical sstaff who flatly shot down the agreed quotations offered by Jeab and even said they do not need the VDO anymore so they could not offer me what Jeab did and I was told I had to pay 3 times the proce of what I was offered before. Consequent to the price dispute, there were lots of bleak moments between the consultant and the medical staff internally then I was made to wait for over two hours then they suddenly reversed to ask for VDO compromised on an agreed price. I repeated said no to revealing my face for the VDO and the secretary Kimmy assured me my face will not be shown on camera. Prior to seeing the doctor, I was told to made payment first. For every doctor consultation, I had to go to the cashier to complete the payment and I was seeing two different doctors meant I had to repeat same process twice touring the entire medical centre so many times. What was most stupid was that I was never informed that I had to pay out of pocket for the Covid-9 test which I deem really unfair when there was konsixh prior information and they just dumped all the hidden cost on me. I only did the arm Vader+body tite along with pick laser for vaginal and I was made to go from building to building spending 7 hours there the entire day is really uncalled for!!!

The team followed through on every detail discussed
Sitting in the consultation room while the surgeon explained the precise use of 50-100 million umbilical cord stem cells gave me a clear sense of the technical path ahead. Fifteen days after the treatment, I am already noticing some improvement in my overall physical state. The application was smooth, and I experienced no injection site reactions or inflammatory flare-ups afterward. Recovery is just beginning. Every interaction with the clinic staff was handled with professional efficiency, ensuring that the logistical side of the medical travel was as controlled as the procedure itself. It is important to stay patient during this early window while the body starts to respond to the cells. The team followed through on every detail discussed.

I went to this clinic to get medical care. The very high price could be justified by this type of treatment. The medical team were present, but no parameters were taken either before or after the treatment. I don't think that customer satisfaction is the objective, the aim is above all to make people spend money unnecessarily. I would not recommend this clinic

I'm pleased I went there
Well it's been about a month and I'm still recovering but I'm pleased I went there.
The people were nice
What I didn't like wasn't to do with the place or people. I went through quite a painful procedure getting rid of rather a lot of moles and I almost wished I hadn't when I was in pain. It's all changed now that I'm healing.

FAQ about Birthmark removal in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is it safe to have birthmark removal done in Thailand?

Birthmark removal in Thailand is safe and follows international clinical protocols. Accredited facilities in Bangkok and Chiang Mai use laser therapies and surgical techniques. Specialist dermatologists, such as Dr Sirintip Jira-adisai at ASIA CLINIC, manage these procedures. These centres serve thousands of international patients annually.

  • Accredited facilities: Wansiri Hospital features clean-room operating theatres with air filtration systems.
  • Qualified specialists: Leading doctors hold certifications from the Royal College of Surgeons Thailand.
  • Modern technology: Clinics use 3D design software and Swiss face scanning for precise planning.
  • International volume: Major centres like ID Clinic Bangkok treat over 4,000 patients every year.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Basic laser removal is common, but top Bangkok clinics now integrate regenerative treatments. Using mesenchymal stem cells or exosome therapy alongside lasers helps skin repair faster. This approach often reduces the sessions needed. This is vital for Australians on shorter trips.

Patient Consensus: Patients recommend choosing board-certified dermatologists in Bangkok or Chiang Mai. They advise against using general beauty clinics. They also suggest consulting a GP at home to confirm the birthmark type first.

Can babies and children have birthmarks removed in Thailand?

Babies and children can have birthmarks removed in Thailand at specialised clinics that offer paediatric dermatology. Laser therapies and surgical excision treat vascular or pigmented marks. Providers like STC Clinic in Bangkok care for both adult and paediatric patients using sedated laser protocols.

  • Specialised techniques: Clinics use Pico and VBeam lasers for non-invasive removal of pigmented and vascular marks.
  • Qualified surgeons: Specialists like Dr Sirintip Jira-adisai at Asia Cosmetic Hospital focus on dermatology and regenerative care.
  • Safe sedation: On-site anaesthetists at clinics like Dr Chen Clinic manage sedation to keep children calm.
  • Affordable care: Procedure costs range from $1,600 to $3,200. This saves families approximately 47% compared to Australia.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many Bangkok aesthetic centres only serve adults. However, specific facilities like STC Clinic are equipped for paediatric care. Laser resurfacing starts from $100. Comprehensive birthmark removal often requires specialised sedation protocols, which increases the total price.

Patient Consensus: Parents in Thailand suggest having a paediatric dermatologist diagnose the birthmark type before treatment. Successful outcomes often depend on choosing clinics with experience in managing pain for young children.

What is the typical process for birthmark removal in Thailand?

Birthmark removal in Thailand typically starts with a specialist consultation. This determines the pigment type before moving to laser therapy or surgical excision. Experienced dermatologists perform these procedures in Bangkok and Chiang Mai centres. Treatment lasts 1–3 hours under local anaesthesia or numbing cream. Most patients resume daily activities immediately.

  • Consultation phase: Specialists examine birthmark depth and check for potential health risks.
  • Laser technology: Clinics use CO2 and Fotona 4D lasers to target melanin or blood vessels.
  • Surgical excision: Surgeons remove deeper or stubborn birthmarks and close the site with stitches.
  • Recovery timeline: Minor laser spots heal quickly while larger removals may take 4 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many aesthetic centres offer laser services. However, choosing a dermatology specialist like Dr Sirintip Jira-adisai provides clinical precision for complex pigments. Clinics such as Wansiri Hospital provide surgical-grade Clean Room environments. This level of infection control is a major advantage for international patients undergoing excision procedures.

Patient Consensus: Visitors to Thai clinics often highlight the efficiency of same-day consultations and treatments. Many find the process straightforward and appreciate the clear aftercare guidance provided by English-speaking staff.

What techniques are used for birthmark removal in Thailand?

Specialists in Thailand use laser therapies, surgical excision, and regenerative medicine to remove birthmarks. Treatment plans often combine Pico lasers for pigmented spots with vascular lasers for red marks. Clinics such as STC Clinic also offer mesenchymal stem cell and exosome therapies to help skin repair.

  • Laser therapy: Pico and VBeam lasers target pigment or blood vessels with high precision.
  • Surgical excision: Surgeons remove deep or raised marks. They use reconstructive techniques to limit scarring.
  • Regenerative medicine: STC Clinic uses cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells and exosomes for tissue repair.
  • Combination protocols: Doctors often pair laser resurfacing with PRP injections to improve skin texture.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bookimed data shows Thailand is a primary hub for regenerative dermatology. While most countries rely solely on lasers, STC Clinic in Bangkok integrates exosome therapy and growth factors. These biological treatments can significantly speed up skin healing after intensive laser sessions or surgical removals.

What types of birthmarks can be removed in Thailand?

Specialised clinics in Thailand remove a wide range of vascular and pigmented birthmarks. These include port wine stains, haemangiomas, and melanocytic lesions. Centres like ID Clinic Bangkok and Wansiri Hospital use laser therapy or surgical excision. This often saves Australians up to 47% compared to local costs.

  • Technique selection: Specialists choose laser therapy for flat marks or excision for raised lesions.
  • Pigmented lesions: Clinics treat brown or black spots, including café-au-lait marks and congenital moles.
  • Vascular marks: Doctors use pulsed dye lasers to fade red or pink port wine stains.
  • Surgical excision: Surgeons remove raised birthmarks or those requiring biopsy for potential malignancy risks.
  • Certified expertise: Leading Bangkok facilities hold Royal College of Surgeons Thailand accreditation for safety.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s high patient volumes drive a unique expertise in laser intensity. For example, Dr. Chen Clinic serves over 10,000+ patients annually. This case volume allows clinicians to calibrate laser settings more precisely. They balance effective pigment fading with skin safety.

Patient Consensus: Clinics in Thailand assess birthmarks by depth and colour through photos before patients travel. Most find that flat pigmented marks respond well to laser therapies.
