We really liked the Physiomer hospital, it is very cozy and comfortable here. A big plus for the team, especially Melih, he helped us a lot on organizational issues. The physiotherapists are very patient and kind. Hussein and Zhannan are the best in their business. We have been choosing places where they can help us for a long time and we were not mistaken in choosing Physiomer, our little one was happy to work with this team.

The biggest thing that surprised me is how much my walking balance has already improved
The biggest thing that surprised me is how much my walking balance has already improved. It’s a direct result of the support from the surgeon and the entire staff here. Their approach is focused on task-specific therapy, and the daily sessions are intense but effective. I've found the robotic walker to be an incredibly useful tool for my progress. It is hard work. My main daily challenge has been managing fatigue, but the team is attentive and helps create a plan that works. I feel like I'm in very capable hands for this stage of my recovery.

The Head Doctor is a great person with humility and patience to treat his patients well
Please check your facts as the hospital is very expensive for Turkey. However, very good facilities, most staff are committed and know their jobs well. The Head Doctor is a great person with humility and patience to treat his patients well. However, I am not aware of who is behind him and may influence some decisions. The facility should invest and innovate more. There are not enough staff and the patient’s progress suffered as a result. High turnover rate. I am quite surprised that the management team or main representative never once visited my family member, a long-term patient. Some nurses need to be trained as they lack essential customer service skills. Overall, good hospital with quality infrastructure and amenities. In this rehabilitation block, the patient rooms are mostly small and the bed-chair is very uncomfortable for long-term attendants. I would recommend the Hospital of course! We had a good experience despite few setbacks. Most problems were addressed professionally but the truth has to be told. It took some personal time and energy and the quality standards need to be there. We are not dealing with retail but health and you cannot expect your patients not to be demanding when they spend/pay a lot for medical care in Turkey.
Communication and goal sharing. Compassionate and well experienced. Very nice and seems knowledgeable. Speaks English well, problem-solver!
Ratings of hospital services. Recommendations and follow-up with hospital management on patient issues. Most contacts at the hospital are junior staff and problems not solved critically.

FAQ about Vojta Therapy in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What is Vojta Therapy and why is it sought after in Turkey?

Vojta Therapy is a non-surgical neurophysiotherapy that treats movement disorders. It triggers innate motor patterns through reflex locomotion. In Turkey, it is sought after for its integration into intensive paediatric programs at JCI-accredited facilities. These offer specialised neurorehabilitation for conditions like cerebral palsy and scoliosis.

  • Neuroplasticity activation: Targeted pressure triggers involuntary muscle movements to create new neural pathways.
  • Clinical indications: Used for infants and adults with motor delays, torticollis, or stroke.
  • Accredited centres: Facilities like Memorial Şişli Hospital provide JCI-certified environments for complex rehabilitation.
  • Specialist access: Experts like Dr Sevil Bilir perform this technique within multi-disciplinary paediatric teams.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish clinics often achieve strong results by combining Vojta with robotics. While centres like Fizyomer Terapia report a 98% success rate in intensive programs, the real value for Australians is the cost. At $200 per session, it is significantly more affordable than the $2,600 Australian average. This allows families to fund the months of daily consistency required for lasting developmental gains.

Patient Consensus: Parents report major developmental gains in children with hypertonia or asymmetrical movement after starting intensive therapy early. While the sessions are emotionally demanding, the long-term results in Turkey include improved balance and motor coordination.

What conditions are commonly treated with Vojta Therapy in Turkish clinics?

Turkish clinics primarily use Vojta therapy for infants and children. It treats central nervous system impairments, motor development delays, and postural asymmetries. For cerebral palsy, infant torticollis, and peripheral nerve damage, specialist centres often apply this reflex locomotion method. It stimulates innate movement patterns and improves physical coordination.

  • Cerebral palsy: Improving postural control and trunk stability for spastic and non-spastic types.
  • Infant torticollis: Correcting head-turning preferences and asymmetrical body posture in early development.
  • Motor delays: Encouraging developmental milestones like rolling, crawling, and uprighting in children.
  • Neurological issues: Addressing spina bifida and brachial plexus injuries such as Erb’s palsy.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish rehabilitation centres like Fizyomer Terapia report a 98% success rate for complex cases. These include cerebral palsy and spinal cord injuries. Clinics often integrate Vojta with robotic systems like Lokomat or Amadeo. This combination typically achieves faster motor milestones than using manual physical therapy alone.

Patient Consensus: Parents found Vojta therapy in Turkey highly effective for infant neck asymmetry and motor issues. Be prepared for strong infant reactions during sessions. Most specialists combine this with Bobath therapy for better results.

Which major cities and medical centres in Turkey offer Vojta Therapy?

Major Turkish cities including Istanbul and Antalya provide Vojta therapy at JCI-accredited medical centres. Specialist paediatricians perform this reflex locomotion therapy to treat motor disorders. Clinics like Medipol Acibadem District Hospital and Medical Park Antalya Hospital Complex lead in neurological rehabilitation. They serve international patients.

  • Istanbul hub: Medipol Acibadem District Hospital offers Vojta therapy within 50 specialised departments.
  • Antalya facilities: Medical Park Antalya Hospital Complex provides paediatric rehabilitation for motor development.
  • Specialist expertise: Dr Sevil Bilir in Istanbul specialises in Vojta therapy for children.
  • Clinical oversight: Dr Hakki Irgil in Antalya manages paediatric cases requiring neuromuscular rehabilitation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Istanbul remains the primary destination for Vojta therapy. Large private hospital chains there offer more multilingual staff. While Antalya has reputable paediatricians like Dr Hakki Irgil, Istanbul centres typically provide better access to international patient coordinators. These coordinators help manage long-term rehabilitation schedules.

Patient Consensus: Large private hospital chains in Istanbul are the most recommended for specialist care. Patients suggest confirming the specific department and English-speaking coordinator before booking travel to Turkey.

How are international patients supported when travelling to Turkey for this therapy?

International patients receive comprehensive support through dedicated international departments at Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited facilities. The system integrates logistics coordination, multilingual patient hosts, and regulatory safeguards like official Health Tourism Authorisations. This ensures safe, structured access to specialised paediatric and neurological rehabilitation.

  • Logistics coordination: Most clinics arrange VIP airport transfers and local transport between hotels and theatres.
  • Language assistance: Dedicated interpreters fluent in English support consultations at centres like Memorial Antalya Hospital.
  • Accommodation support: Packages often bundle 5-star guest house stays or partner hotels near the clinic.
  • Regulatory protection: Authorised providers must hold certificates from the Turkish Ministry of Health for patient safety.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While many centres offer outpatient sessions, Romatem Hospitals provide all-inclusive daily stays. These bundles are highly efficient for Australian families. They cover meals, lodging, and medications alongside therapy. This eliminates the need to manage daily costs in a foreign city.

Patient Consensus: Staff coordinate everything via WhatsApp before travel and provide daily check-ins once in Turkey. Families value the detailed aftercare instructions provided to continue therapy at home.
