How Much Does Open rhinoplasty Cost in Turkey in AUD?

Open rhinoplasty in Turkey typically costs from AUD $1,586 to AUD $5,333. Final prices depend on the surgeon's expertise, clinic location, and the complexity of the nasal structure. Australians save approximately 82% compared to local private costs, which average AUD $19,748. Standard Turkish packages usually include internal transfers, accommodation, and all required pre-operative blood tests.

  • Specialised surgical techniques: Piezo ultrasonic technology typically adds 15–20% to the base procedure cost.
  • Revision surgery: Complex secondary procedures often cost 30–50% more than primary open rhinoplasty operations.
  • Regional price trends: Packages in Istanbul generally run 15–20% higher than those in regional cities.
  • Clinic accreditation: Premium facilities with JCI or ISO certification often charge higher fees for quality assurance.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Paying for a professor's expertise offers exceptional value in Turkey. For example, Memorial Şişli Hospital offers packages around A$7,000 with ENT professors like Mustafa Akarcay. This includes VIP transfers and a 7-night stay. For those on a budget, clinics like Atlas University Hospital provide JCI-accredited care for approximately A$5,700, including 5-star accommodation. These all-inclusive deals remove the stress of navigating Istanbul alone.

Data verified by Bookimed as of July 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 194 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

"The anesthesiologist and the head nurse are very pleasant people, smiling, caring and kind
Ward was good. As for the doctor, I saw him very little. Consultation took exactly one minute. The anesthesiologist and the head nurse are very pleasant people, smiling, caring and kind. Coordinator Zhenya is also a very good girl. In touch with her so far. Of the minuses- Because of the heavy workload, you have to wait a long time. We waited for the consultation and the dressing and the operation itself. And the house too, until it is free. I cannot say anything about the result of rhinoplasty, too little time has passed. I can say one breath much better. At the expense of the aesthetic side, we will see later.

FAQ about Open rhinoplasty in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is open rhinoplasty in Turkey safe for Australians considering surgery abroad?

Open rhinoplasty in Turkey is safe for Australians when done by experienced surgeons at accredited hospitals. Clinics like Memorial Şişli and Lokman Hekim Istanbul Hospital have Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. They offer thorough pre-op checks, hospital stays, and follow-ups to ensure good outcomes.

  • JCI accreditation: Memorial Şişli and Lokman Hekim hospitals meet international standards.
  • Experienced surgeons: Dr Ergin Er has performed 10,000+ aesthetic surgeries in Istanbul.
  • Pre- and post-op care: Packages include hospital stays, scans, consultations, and hotel recovery.
  • Recovery timeline: Initial healing takes about 7 days with follow-up visits before flying home.
  • Communication support: Clinics provide interpreters and VIP transfer services for international patients.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many top Turkish clinics bundle VIP transfers and hotel stays with surgery to ease stress. Choosing surgeons with thousands of rhinoplasty cases, like Dr Ergin Er, correlates with better patient confidence and safety. Avoid clinics that focus mainly on marketing over credentials.

Patient Consensus: Australians appreciate clear communication and organised transfers in Turkey. Many highlight the smooth recovery under attentive care. Staying a week for follow-ups and rest helps confidence before the return flight. Authentic doctor consultations and genuine patient photos also reassure patients.

What is open rhinoplasty in Turkey and how does it differ from closed rhinoplasty?

Open rhinoplasty in Turkey involves an external incision across the columella to lift nasal skin and expose cartilage and bone. This method suits complex or revision cases. It offers surgeons better visibility for precise reshaping compared to closed rhinoplasty, which uses only internal incisions and suits minor adjustments.

  • Incision type: External columella incision in open; internal nostril incisions in closed rhinoplasty.
  • Visibility: Open rhinoplasty allows direct view of nasal structures, aiding complex corrections.
  • Scarring: Open approach leaves a tiny, mostly hidden scar; closed leaves no visible scar.
  • Recovery timeline: Open rhinoplasty has more swelling and longer, more painful recovery than closed.
  • Usage in Turkey: Surgeons often prefer open rhinoplasty for detailed results and significant reshaping.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish rhinoplasty surgeons frequently choose open rhinoplasty for complex cases, sometimes even when closed could suffice. This suggests patients should ask why an open approach is recommended. Longer hospital stays and 2-week recovery are common with open rhinoplasty packages at JCI-accredited hospitals like Memorial Şişli Hospital and Lokman Hekim Akay Hospital.

Patient Consensus: Patients praise thorough care and clear communication in Turkey. Many note swelling after open rhinoplasty but appreciate support during recovery. Interpreter availability and organised transfers help ease the experience for Australians travelling to Turkey.

What is the typical recovery time after open rhinoplasty in Turkey for Australian patients?

Open rhinoplasty recovery in Turkey usually requires about 7–10 days before Australians can fly home. Cast and stitches are removed within the first week, with most swelling fading by 2 weeks. Full healing and final nose shape take up to 6–12 months.

  • Initial recovery: 1–2 days hospital stay, cast removed after 5–8 days.
  • Return to work: typically around 2 weeks post-op once bruising subsides.
  • Swelling peak: usually within 2–4 days, then gradually decreases.
  • Long-term healing: internal swelling and numbness last several weeks.
  • Follow-up care: many clinics offer language support and telehealth after returning to Australia.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish clinics catering to Australians often include VIP transfers, multi-night hotel stays, and English-speaking coordinators. Packages at JCI-accredited hospitals like Memorial Şişli ensure smooth recovery logistics and reliable follow-up, making 7–10 days in Turkey the sweet spot before flying home.

Patient Consensus: Australian patients recommend planning 14 days in Turkey for cast removal and swelling to ease. Expect some numbness and sensitivity for weeks, but most return to work in about 2 weeks. Clinics with translators help with smooth recovery and communication.

How long should Australians plan to stay in Turkey for open rhinoplasty surgery?

Australians should plan to stay in Turkey for 7 to 10 days when having open rhinoplasty. This covers pre-op checks, surgery, hospital stay, splint removal around day 5–7, and initial recovery before flying home on long-haul flights.

  • Hospital stay: Usually 1 to 2 days included in packages.
  • Splint removal: Typically occurs between day 5 and day 7 post-surgery.
  • Follow-up care: Included during hospital and hotel stays for monitoring healing.
  • Hotel stay: 5 to 7 nights common, often at 4–5 star hotels with VIP transfers.
  • Flying advice: Staying at least 9–10 days reduces risks from pressure changes on flights.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Packages like those at Atlas University Medicine Hospital include 2 days hospital and 5 nights 5-star hotel stay with VIP transfer, matching ideal recovery time. Clinics offering follow-up care on-site ensure safer discharge timing before flights back to Australia.

Patient Consensus: Australians say staying 7–10 days ensures splint removal and swelling reduction before flying. They appreciate clear schedules and accessible interpreters, making the process stress-free in Turkey.

What is included in a typical Turkish open rhinoplasty package for overseas patients?

Typical Turkish open rhinoplasty packages include surgery, 1–2 days hospital stay, 5-star hotel for several nights, VIP transfers, pre-op tests, and daily doctor visits. Packages from JCI-accredited hospitals offer full post-operative care and English-speaking support to aid smooth recovery for overseas patients.

  • Surgical fees: surgeon, anaesthetist, operating theatre, and medical team.
  • Hospital stay: 1–2 nights in private hospital rooms for immediate recovery.
  • Accommodation: 5-star hotel stay of 5–7 nights near the clinic.
  • Transfers: VIP airport pick-up, drop-off, and transport between hotel and hospital.
  • Post-op care: daily doctor and nurse visits, medications, dressings, and follow-up exams.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Some of Turkey’s top rhinoplasty packages bundle more days in hospital, like Memorial Şişli’s 2-day stay, which helps with early recovery monitoring. Meanwhile, premium packages at hospitals like Lokman Hekim include full board meals and companion stays, which can make healing more comfortable. Australian patients should check that daily clinical monitoring and transport logistics are covered, as these differ by clinic.

Patient Consensus: Patients describe Turkish clinics as organised and caring, with smooth transfers and clear communication. They appreciate daily post-op visits and comfortable hotel stays near the clinic. Australian patients find that having interpreters onsite and accessible aftercare reduces stress during recovery.

Why is Turkey a popular destination for Australians seeking open rhinoplasty surgery?

Turkey is popular for open rhinoplasty among Australians due to its expert surgeons, Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited clinics, and all-inclusive packages offering VIP transfers and hotel stays. It combines quality care with shorter waiting times and reliable follow-up.

  • Surgeon expertise: Dr Mustafa Akarcay offers 25+ years of rhinoplasty experience at Memorial Şişli Hospital.
  • JCI accreditation: Hospitals like Memorial Şişli and Lokman Hekim Istanbul meet strict safety and hygiene standards.
  • All-inclusive packages: Most clinics include hospital stays, VIP transfers, 3-7 nights hotel accommodation, and post-op care.
  • High procedure volume: Istanbul Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Centre serves 5,000+ plastic surgery patients yearly.
  • Comprehensive follow-up: Packages cover post-surgery exams and language assistance in several clinics.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Experienced surgeons like Professor Furkan Karabekmez lead rhinoplasty in Turkey, ensuring personalised, natural results. Many clinics offer extensive hotel stays (up to 7 nights) and VIP transfers for stress-free recovery. Australians value these services, balancing cost savings with convenience and safety.

Patient Consensus: Australians appreciate the smooth organisation, from interpreter support to transfers. They find the clinics in Turkey attentive and efficient, with well-managed recovery periods and clear communication despite some language challenges.
