How Much Does Lipofilling (Fat Grafting) Cost in Turkey in AUD?

Lipofilling in Turkey typically costs from AUD $2,014 to AUD $5,753, with the final price depending on the treatment area, surgeon expertise, and chosen city. Istanbul, Antalya, and Izmir are the primary hubs for this procedure. Australians save approximately 64% compared to local prices, which average around AUD $10,787. Quotes usually include surgeon fees, hospital stays, and transfers.

  • Area of treatment: facial rejuvenation generally costs less than larger-scale breast or buttock enhancements.
  • Liposuction technique: using VASER or laser-assisted technology for harvesting fat often adds a premium.
  • Surgeon seniority: highly experienced specialists or those with international board certifications may charge more.
  • All-inclusive packages: many clinics bundle 4 or 5-star accommodation and luxury airport transfers.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While Istanbul is the primary hub, choosing clinics with specific international certifications ensures high quality. Lokman Hekim Istanbul Hospital and Memorial Şişli hold JCI accreditation, which audits patient safety. Specialists like Dr. Bulent Cihantimur use proprietary fat transfer systems to improve cell survival. Clinics such as Quartz Hospital and Dr. MED frequently serve Australian patients, often including multi-lingual assistants in their service packages.

Data verified by Bookimed as of July 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 118 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

Overall, I’m happy with the staff’s work; everything’s up to a good standard
If I were asked whether I would recommend lipofilling, I would say: think very carefully. It’s not a straightforward procedure. I had a buttock augmentation, with fat taken from several areas, and recovery takes a long time – you’ll definitely need to take time off work. I’m still in the middle of my recovery, and the bruising in the donor areas is still causing me some discomfort. Overall, I’m happy with the staff’s work; everything’s up to a good standard. But my main advice is: prepare yourself, get to know the doctor, and be fully aware of all the consequences. The most important thing is to choose your doctor carefully.
I liked the driver. The fact that there’s a transfer service is a big plus
Pre-operative care and information. There’s no need to rush into the operation. First, you should see a few doctors yourself, find out all the details, and only then go ahead with the operation. I wasn’t very impressed with the doctor’s manner. He’s nervous. He doesn’t like it when people ask too many questions. If there’s a problem, he runs off. The interpreter wasn’t very helpful.

I am grateful to the manager Alexey, from Bookimed, for the support and assistance provided during my stay in Turkey. It's been a month since my surgery. The opinion about the clinic leaves much to be desired. The level is low, everything is very sherpotrebno. A simple conveyor without attention to patients and a turnover of op. There was no consultation as such, no one even asked me anything, the doctor just examined me, drew crooked circles at the waist, laid me down and did not even warn me that they were already immersed in anesthesia, even in the public corridor. When I woke up after the operation, they told me that for the BBL procedure they did not have enough fat taken from my stomach, although it was possible to take it from other places, it would definitely be enough, but no one spoke about this at the consultation. WAKE UP FROM ANESTHESIA! I did not get the desired result, for which I would have paid extra if the doctor had warned me about this during the consultation. The junior medical staff is not very experienced, it seemed to me, since everyone had a problem getting into a vein, they punctured all their arms and legs, at night it was very noisy in the corridor, just a bird market because of the nurses, I couldn’t sleep at all for 2 days. The doctor came into the ward for an examination, from the street in outerwear, even without a bathrobe! Inspected my stitches without gloves and with a strong cigarette smell. On the pain that arose from the previous operation due to edema, they told me that it seems to you and I just panic. There is no diet food in the clinic, which should always be after the operation. They feed 3 times a day, but heavy carbohydrates are the national Turkish food, there is no other way to order food for your money. They did not even take into account the documents that I sent in advance, that I have intolerance to some products. I stayed hungry and had bowel problems from the antibiotics! After the first day when I needed medical help and I still could not stand on my feet, they wanted me to go to the hotel, although according to the contract there should have been two days. As for the transfer, I had to force them every time and demand it. During the rehabilitation period, I’m already at home, at the moment I have a hematoma in the inside of the buttocks, to which they answered me in correspondence just to smear with bipanthen, which will not help for these purposes. This is called after operation support! In Ukraine, I had 2 plastic surgeries in private clinics at a much higher level! And I went to Turkey so as not to see negligence and problematic consequences! The result is not justified.

FAQ about Lipofilling (Fat Grafting) in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is fat grafting surgery in Turkey safe?

Fat grafting in Turkey is safe when performed in JCI-accredited facilities. The surgeon must be a board-certified plastic surgeon. Highly experienced specialists use techniques like the Cihantimur Fat Transfer System. This helps boost fat cell survival. Safety is bolstered by strict ISO quality standards and the use of autologous fat. This eliminates rejection risks.

  • Accredited facilities: Leading centres like Memorial Şişli Hospital hold JCI and ISO certifications for safety.
  • Expert surgeons: Dr. Leyla Arvas at Quartz Hospital is a certified VASER trainer for body sculpting.
  • Techniques: Closed systems prevent air exposure, which improves the survival of transferred fat cells.
  • Patient volume: Major hospitals like Hisar Intercontinental serve over 500,000 patients annually with rigorous protocols.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Safety in fat grafting is linked to harvesting pressure rather than just surgeon fame. Data shows clinics using low-pressure harvesting and small fragment sizes (0.5–1mm). They get better long-term volume. Dr. Bulent Cihantimur developed a proprietary closed system. It is specifically designed to boost fat survival rates across Turkey.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey highlight the importance of allowing 6–9 months. Final results take this time to settle. They recommend choosing clinics that provide transparent video consultations. These clinics also offer detailed aftercare support for a smooth recovery.

Can I combine lipofilling (fat grafting) with other procedures in Turkey?

Turkish clinics frequently combine lipofilling with other surgeries in a single trip. Specialists often pair fat grafting with other surgeries. These include liposuction (body contouring), breast lifts (for volume), and deep-plane facelifts (facial rejuvenation). These combinations use JCI-accredited facilities and specialist anaesthetists for safety.

  • Technique variety: Doctors use the Cihantimur Fat Transfer System to improve graft survival rates.
  • Body contouring: Combining VASER liposuction with fat grafting allows for high-definition sculpting.
  • Facial rejuvenation: Surgeons pair fat transfer with blepharoplasty or rhinoplasty for natural volume.
  • Post-op support: All-inclusive packages often provide one-year follow-up aftercare as standard.

Bookimed Expert Insight: High-volume centres, such as Dr. MED, handle 4,500+ plastic surgeries annually. They report a 98.5% success rate for mommy makeovers. Combining procedures can save up to 64% compared to Australian costs of $7,500. High-definition VASER technology significantly improves the outcome of combined cases.

Patient Consensus: Turkish clinics provide comprehensive bundles including hospital stays, transport, and fresh food. Fat grafting recovery takes time, so prepare for several weeks of bruising. Choosing an experienced surgeon is vital. This helps achieve the desired volume and contour results in Turkey.

How long does fat grafting surgery in Turkey last?

Fat grafting surgery in Turkey typically takes 1 to 3 hours. Small facial filling procedures usually finish within 2 hours. Larger body areas like the breasts or buttocks require 3 hours. Final results become clear at 9 months, after the swelling settles.

  • Procedure length: Small areas take 1–2 hours while large zones require up to 3 hours.
  • Initial reabsorption: Patients typically lose 40–50% of the initial fat volume within 6–9 months.
  • Final stability: Survived fat cells become permanent once a blood supply is established by month 9.
  • Touch-up timing: Surgeons suggest waiting at least 9 months before booking a second volume session.
  • Donor recovery: Donor sites often show significant bruising and require specific time off work.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics claim high retention. However, our data shows 40–50% volume loss is the biological standard. Top specialists use proprietary systems to maximise cell survival. One such specialist is Dr. Bulent Cihantimur at Doctor B Clinic. Patients should expect surgeons to intentionally overfill areas by 50%. This compensates for the natural reabsorption process.

Patient Consensus: Expect a long recovery with noticeable bruising in donor areas. Plan for time off work. Results in Turkey stabilise at 9 months. Do not judge the final look too early.

What should I ask my surgeon before having fat grafting in Turkey?

Before undergoing fat grafting in Turkey, ask about the surgeon's fat survival rates. Also ask about their specific purification method, such as the Cihantimur Fat Transfer System or centrifuge processing. Confirm their board certifications with the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (TPRECD) or international bodies like ISAPS.

  • Fat preservation: Ask if they use gentle manual harvesting or VASER to maintain cell integrity.
  • Survival expectations: Clarify personal fat survival rates, as 30–50% of fat typically reabsorbs naturally.
  • Clinical experience: Verify the surgeon has performed 1,000+ lipofilling procedures in the targeted area.
  • Post-op timeline: Confirm the safe flying date, as full results take 9 months to settle.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many search for the lowest price. However, the highest value lies in technical details like cannula size. Dr. Murat Yaman at Lokman Hekim Istanbul Hospital uses VASER to minimise trauma. This is vital for long-term fat retention. Smaller cannulas under 2 mm generally produce smoother, more natural-looking contours.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey highlight the importance of thorough consultations. They also stress the importance of choosing doctors who provide detailed surgical notes. They recommend preparing for a long recovery. They also note that results settle gradually over several months.

Which areas of the body can be treated with fat grafting in Turkey?

Fat grafting in Turkey is a versatile procedure. It restores volume or contour in the face, breasts, buttocks, hands, and trauma-affected areas. Surgeons harvest fat from donor sites like the abdomen or thighs. They use VASER liposuction, then inject the fat into targeted areas for rejuvenation.

  • Facial rejuvenation: Restores volume to cheeks, temples, jawlines, and the under-eye area.
  • Breast enhancement: Natural augmentation often results in a one cup size increase per session.
  • Body contouring: Increases volume in hips and buttocks, commonly via Brazilian Butt Lift.
  • Hand rejuvenation: Softens aged appearances by masking visible tendons and prominent veins.
  • Scar refinement: Improves tissue pliability and fills contour depressions caused by previous trauma.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data from clinics like Dr. MED shows that Turkish specialists often suggest multi-area packages. Combining hip contouring with abdominal liposuction is common for Australian patients. This approach provides a balanced silhouette. It also gives enough fat for grafting in larger areas, such as the buttocks.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey report natural results for facial and body contouring. They highlight that recovery takes patience, especially for donor site bruising. Confirming specific treatment areas during consultations leads to higher satisfaction. Success requires choosing board-certified surgeons with extensive portfolios.

What is the difference between fat transfer and fillers in Turkey?

Fat transfer in Turkey is a surgical, permanent solution using the patient's own tissue. Fillers are non-surgical, temporary injections of synthetic materials like hyaluronic acid. Choosing fat transfer avoids rejection risks. It also provides natural-looking volume through specialised techniques. These include the Cihantimur Fat Transfer System at Estetik International.

  • Procedure type: Fat transfer requires liposuction and anaesthesia. Fillers are quick, office-based injections.
  • Longevity: Fat cells become permanent once integrated, while fillers naturally dissolve over 6–18 months.
  • Risk profile: Transferred fat involves no allergy risk, yet fillers are easily reversible with hyaluronidase.
  • Cost range: Lipofilling costs from $1,400 to $4,000 compared to recurring filler expenses.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Fat survival is the biggest variable in Turkey. Surgeons like Dr. Bulent Cihantimur use closed-loop systems to prevent air exposure. This helps more fat take hold. While Australian costs average $7,500, Turkish clinics often bundle fat grafting with VASER liposuction. This sculpts donor areas simultaneously.

Patient Consensus: Fillers are better if patients want a predictable, dissolvable result without downtime. Fat transfer looks beautiful and ages naturally. However, it requires patience during the long recovery and potential second rounds.

How long do I need to stay in Istanbul for fat grafting surgery?

Patients should plan to stay in Istanbul for 7 to 10 days for fat grafting surgery. It covers the procedure and a 1-night hospital stay. A follow-up appointment is scheduled 7 days later. This is to remove stitches and get fit-to-fly clearance from the surgeon.

  • Procedure duration: Smaller facial transfers take 1–2 hours while larger body contouring takes longer.
  • Hospital stay: Most clinics include 1 night of inpatient monitoring in their standard packages.
  • Stitch removal: Surgeons typically remove external sutures 7 days after the fat transfer procedure.
  • Recovery timeline: Initial bruising subsides in 2 weeks but full results take several months.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bookimed data shows that high-volume centres like Dr. MED and Quartz Hospital often include a full year of digital aftercare. Only about 30% of injected fat typically survives the first 3 months. So, having long-term access to their surgeon via telehealth is vital for planning potential top-up sessions.

Patient Consensus: Many patients travel to Turkey. They found that a 10-day stay helped manage donor area bruising more comfortably. They recommend increasing calorie intake slightly for 3 months. This helps the new fat grafts survive.

What happens if I lose or gain weight after lipofilling in Turkey?

Weight fluctuations after lipofilling in Turkey directly affect results. This happens because grafted fat behaves like living tissue from the donor site. Transferred cells expand during weight gain and shrink during weight loss. Maintaining a stable weight helps keep contouring permanent and proportionate. This applies to areas like the breasts, face, or buttocks.

  • Donor memory: Fat transferred from thighs to face still responds to weight gain like thigh fat.
  • Volume loss: Up to 50% of grafted fat may naturally absorb during the first year.
  • Result stability: Survivors of the first 6 months are permanent provided their body weight remains consistent.
  • Limit fluctuations: Minor changes under 5kg usually do not visibly alter the final surgical shape.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish surgeons often recommend a slightly overfilled result. This is because 40–50% of fat may be naturally absorbed. Clinics like Quartz Hospital or Dr. MED use VASER technology to harvest high-quality cells. This specific approach helps maximise the survival rate of the fat before their weight stabilises.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey report that volume looks great initially. However, long-term success depends on avoiding drastic diets. Patients should expect significant bruising in donor areas. They should plan for several weeks of recovery before seeing final proportions.
