It was the right choice
What worried me most was the uncertainty and what the treatment plan would be. But my fears were put to rest after the very first consultation. The doctor was very attentive and explained everything in detail and calmly, which immediately put me at ease. I really appreciate that approach. All the staff at the clinic were responsive and supportive at every stage. The clinic itself made a good impression; everything is well organised. I am currently in the recovery phase and feel much calmer, having a clear understanding of the next steps. It was the right choice.

The surgeon was excellent
What surprised me most about my basalioma treatment wasn't the procedure itself, but the detailed skin examination I received. The surgeon was excellent. He made sure all removal options were discussed clearly, which was reassuring since I already had my diagnosis before arriving. Right now, the treated area is healing very well. While the medical care was superb and the clinic facilities are great, the administrative staff seemed a bit disorganized, which was the only downside. Despite that, based on the surgeon’s work, it’s a place I would suggest to others.
My Bookimed coordinator was highly skilled, had the passion and patience for her work and that translated to the numerous array of options provided to me to choose from based on my budget during the entire process. She interacted with me 24/7 just for us to have solution within my schedule. All information (proforma, visa assistance, travel guidance and estimated personal expenses) for the entire treatment were on point and I encourage all manner of persons seeking medical treatment abroad to choose Bookimed as their medical tourism partner.
1. Interpreter only come when the patient calls for his services and that is only during the day. If the interpreter can also support beyond the interactions with the specialist. 2. Airport and Internal movement are left to the patient to handle which can sometimes be a major challenge for some category of patients and given the language barrier. 3. Hospital discharges are very strict even if you the patient feels he/she need additional day(s) to be fit for a return to the hotel to continue the recovery.

The doctor and all the staff have been very attentive and professional, which gives me confidence that I made the right choice of clinic and treatment process
My main concern before starting treatment was how my body would react to the drug. I’m undergoing a course of Keytruda immunotherapy for kidney cancer, receiving an infusion every three weeks. Yes, I have experienced some side effects. These are mainly digestive issues, and I feel a little more tired. Of course, I am still concerned that these might get worse over time. But I must say that the doctor and all the staff have been very attentive and professional, which gives me confidence that I made the right choice of clinic and treatment process.

When friends ask if I would suggest this clinic to them, my answer is a 10
My biggest worry was finding a surgeon and team I could completely trust for this personal procedure. That concern disappeared quickly. From the first consultation, the surgeon was professional and the staff were consistently kind, which made the whole process feel secure and well-managed. I'm still in the early stages of healing, but the level of care has been excellent. Everything was clear. When friends ask if I would suggest this clinic to them, my answer is a 10. The support has been fantastic.
Coordinator stayed in touch .The clinic exceeded expectations.I wanted to thank Dr. Baris Nuhoglu and his assistant, who took impeccable care of me. They listened to me and resolved a problem that was very serious and causing me discomfort. On May 19th, they gave me a new birth with professionalism, seriousness, and empathy.I have e big gratitude and deep respect to Dr. Baris and his team, and I wish to return in a few months for a check-up and, who knows, maybe for another new treatment.😁😉👍

Thank Allah that we met him and he did a good surgery
Many thanks to Dr Bora Basharan and Alisher Durdiev! Diagnosis: carcinoma on the tongue. Alisher was very helpful with the choice and full support during the treatment. He gave us confidence in choosing Dr Bora Basharan by telling us about his professionalism and humanity. The most important thing for Alisher was the patient's health and to organise the diagnosis/surgery so that the patient gets the best results. We are very happy about this. We could not decide on the treatment (we were waiting for answers from South Korea) and Alisher did not give up to provide us with doctor's answers, answer our many questions and help with organisation. His ability to speak excellent Russian helped a lot in communication. The first meeting organised by Alisher went well. The doctor explained everything about the surgery and gave us peace of mind due to his experience as a highly specialised ENT surgeon in oncology. The operation went well and the follow up health checks. The recovery is good. We read many positive reviews online about Dr Bor Basharan which gave us more confidence. The reviews are true. After the surgery we were given a room with excellent food and the recovery was good. Thank Allah that we met Alisher and Dr Bora Basharan, for his golden hands, good surgery and organisation. Thank you very much again! Good health to all!

The surgeon and all the staff at the clinic were highly professional and competent throughout my experience
My biggest concern before the operation was the recovery period, but now, 15 days after the prosthetic testicle implant surgery, I can say that things are going as expected. I received a small prosthesis measuring 3.5 cm; although I’m not sure of the brand, I’m satisfied with it. The surgeon and all the staff at the clinic were highly professional and competent throughout my experience. Everything went well. The recovery period is going well and without any problems so far.
The service was excellent, and the check-in and check-out were a real treat

Honestly, I'm in awe from this experience
The hospital was fantastic, room was private, with all required amenities, cafe - lovely, everything was beautiful and clean. Staff were just so accommodating, my Doctor was knowledgeable, explained the procedure in detail. Honestly, I'm in awe from this experience. And even though I was coming in with a slight fear and a tiny panic attack, there was really no need to worry, everything is on a highest level! Thanks to all!
Translators were top notch! Everything was amazing, I can't select just one thing.
Had issue with payment, it kept getting rejected and due to this I wasn't admitted right away. But once payment went through, all services followed smoothly.

My care was very good from start to finish. As soon as I arrived at the hospital, I was greeted by my interpreter and team. They were very friendly, put me at ease and explained what would happen and when. I had checks done and blood taken etc and met the consultant. He was absolutely lovely and again explained the whole procedure. I also met with the Anaesthetist. My procedure was completed and the care was fantastic from all the staff involved. The room and hospital were great. I felt like we had VIP treatment. The Hotel was also nice and everything runs like clockwork. Thanks to all the team but, especially to Ishmeal, Senna and Doctor Ozturk.

Dear readers, if anyone wants to be treated abroad, come specifically to Florence Nightingale and find Prof Ahmet-Tunç Ozdemir and you will not go wrong with your choice
I, Temirbek Ormotoev came from Kyrgyzstan, I chose Florence Nightingale Hospital which was helped by bookimed company and the staff of this company liked me, especially I am happy to deal with Professor Ahmet-Tunch Ozdemir. Today is the 3rd day after the operation performed by Prof Ahmet-Tunç Ozdemir. The operation was done wonderfully, I am satisfied and also the hospital conditions and medical staff were top notch, everyone is polite to the patients, especially the head nurse and nurse Linhai were very good at patient care. Why did I choose Florence Nightingale specifically? Because this hospital is one of the advanced hospitals in Turkey and there is a DaVinci robotised system. I have a neoplasm in my kidney over 30 mm. Prof Ahmet-Tunç Ozdemir performed the operation within 1.5 hours and he has golden hands. Dear readers, if anyone wants to be treated abroad, come specifically to Florence Nightingale and find Prof Ahmet-Tunç Ozdemir and you will not go wrong with your choice. I was discharged on the second day after surgery, I feel great and recovery is underway. In terms of the cost of paying for the surgery, compared to other clinics in Turkey, it is realistic and inexpensive. Mr Ahmet-Tunc Ozdemir, my family and I wish you good health, longevity, good luck in everything and that you stay for a long time saving patients from various diseases, Allah help you. I am also grateful to the medical coordinators of bookimed platform, Liana, who from the very beginning until today accompanies and helps with treatment abroad and assistants named Alisher, translator Aigerim, who know their business professionally. Thank you all who helped me with this situation, Allah bless us all.
Liked Prof Ahmet-Tunç Özdemir, service, medical staff, clinic, overall everything is good.

I got more than value for my money
Memorial is more than a hospital. It is home from home. Very hospitable and caring staff who show a lot of empathy. My one night stay in the hospital was a delightful experience, kind and available staff, every neat and hygienic room. The doctors are on top of their job. I was taken through a lecture in nuclear physics 101, broken in simple language. The lecturer helped allayed my initial fears about the treatment. The treatment was speedy and the results came so quickly. The doctor was by my bedside to explain the next steps. The translator was fantastic. The transportation service was superb, always on time. I got more than value for my money. I will strongly recommend Memorial Sisli Hospital for any person seeking Lu-177 therapy
The ever presence of the medical support to attend to me in deep into the night.

Our Hysterectomy (uterus removal) Techniques: What Suits You Best?

When considering Hysterectomy (uterus removal), it’s important to understand the different techniques and which is best suited for you. Here’s a concise comparison of popular options:

Laparoscopic Hysterectomy

A laparoscopic hysterectomy is a minimally invasive procedure to remove the uterus using small incisions and a camera.

Pros: Less invasive than open surgery with reduced scarring. Faster recovery time with most patients returning to normal activity in 2-3 weeks. Lower risk of infection due to smaller incisions.
Cons: Not suitable for very large uterine fibroids or extensive pelvic adhesions. Requires specialized surgical skills and equipment.
Effectiveness: 95% success rate in treating conditions like fibroids and endometriosis.
Duration: 1-3 hours.
Recovery: 2-3 weeks.
Best for: Smaller uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and menstrual disorders. Suitable for patients seeking less invasive options.
Prices: Cost of Laparoscopic Hysterectomy in Turkey from AUD $6,357

Myomectomy with Robot Da Vinci

This procedure involves using a robotic system to remove uterine fibroids with precision and minimal invasiveness.

Pros: The robotic system offers enhanced precision and control, leading to less bleeding and quicker recovery. Studies show up to 80% reduction in postoperative pain compared to traditional methods.
Cons: Requires a specialized surgical team and can have a longer setup time. Equipment availability may be limited in some regions.
Effectiveness: 90% success rate in fibroid removal with significant symptom relief.
Duration: 2-4 hours
Recovery: 1-2 weeks
Best for: Women with multiple or large fibroids, or those seeking fertility preservation.
Prices: Cost of Myomectomy with Robot Da Vinci in Turkey from AUD $8,780

FAQ about Hysterectomy (uterus removal) in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What types of hysterectomy procedures are available in Turkish clinics?

Turkish clinics offer partial, total, and radical hysterectomies using abdominal, laparoscopic, or robotic approaches. Specialists at JCI-accredited centres in Istanbul and Ankara remove the uterus for fibroids, endometriosis, and cancer. Procedures range from $5,000 to $7,800. This saves up to 85% compared to Australian averages.

  • Surgical extent: Surgeons perform total, partial, or radical hysterectomies based on clinical needs.
  • Minimally invasive: Laparoscopic techniques use keyhole incisions to reduce scarring and recovery time.
  • Robotic precision: Da Vinci systems at clinics like Anadolu Medical Center enhance surgical accuracy.
  • Natural orifice: vNOTES techniques allow uterus extraction through the vagina with no abdominal scars.
  • Traditional approach: Abdominal hysterectomy remains available for complex cases or very large fibroids.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic packages start at A$6,600, patients choosing robotic surgery should budget for mid-range tiers. Data shows robotic hysterectomy with the Da Vinci system typically costs between $7,500 and $16,000 due to technology fees.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey appreciate doctors who explain the pros and cons of preserving the cervix. Confirming whether ovaries are preserved or removed helps avoid surprises after the procedure.

How long is the required hospital stay and recovery time after hysterectomy in Turkey?

Hysterectomy in Turkey typically requires 1–3 nights in hospital, depending on the surgical approach. Laparoscopic and robotic procedures often require only 1 night, while open abdominal surgery may take 2–5 days. Most patients return to light activity within 4–6 weeks.

  • Hospital stay: Stays range from 1 night for laparoscopy to 5 days for abdominal surgery.
  • Return to work: Most patients require at least 6 weeks off for proper healing.
  • Full recovery: Internal tissue healing often takes 8–12 weeks before resuming strenuous exercise.
  • Travel window: Specialists recommend staying in Turkey for 7–14 days before flying home.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics quote a 1-night stay for laparoscopic cases. However, packages from Medical Park Antalya and Anadolu Medical Center build in 2 nights. This extra night provides better pain management and hydration before they move to a hotel. It is a vital buffer for long-haul Australian travellers.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey noted that while they could walk by week 4, full energy levels often took 12 weeks to return. Most suggest staying in hospital for at least 2 nights to benefit from IV fluids and professional nursing care.

Why is Turkey a popular destination for hysterectomy surgery?

Turkey is a leading choice for hysterectomy due to significant cost savings and access to advanced surgical techniques. Patients benefit from board-certified specialists using Da Vinci robotic systems and vNOTES. This allows for scarless surgery, reduced pain, and faster recovery times without long waiting lists.

  • Significant savings: Procedure costs from $5,000 to $7,800, saving patients approximately 85% compared to Australia.
  • Advanced technology: Hospitals like Anadolu Medical Center use Da Vinci robots for high-precision radical hysterectomies.
  • All-inclusive care: Packages at Medical Park Antalya bundle surgery, 24-hour nursing, and full board meals.
  • Expert surgeons: Specialists like Dr Esra Tustas Haberal have performed over 900 successful procedures.
  • Accredited facilities: Most major centres, including Hisar Hospital and Memorial, hold JCI international accreditation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While robotic surgery at centres like Anadolu Medical Center costs more at A$22,100, it remains competitive for high-complexity cases. For standard care, vNOTES procedures in Turkey start at A$4,800. This is significantly less than the A$19,100 average in Australia, making specialised techniques financially accessible.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey feel better knowing doctors explain every detail and manage recovery carefully. They appreciate coordinated arrangements that include hospital stays and follow-up visits in one price.

What is usually included in a medical tourism package for hysterectomy in Turkey?

Hysterectomy packages in Turkey usually include the surgical procedure, general anaesthesia, and a 2-day hospital stay. Comprehensive bundles also cover pre-operative laboratory tests, ECGs, and airport-to-clinic transfers. Professional interpreters are typically provided at JCI-accredited facilities like Hisar Hospital Intercontinental to assist Australian patients during consultations.

  • Surgical techniques: Packages cover abdominal, laparoscopic, or robotic approaches using the Da Vinci system.
  • Clinical diagnostics: Includes blood panels, ultrasounds, and standard pathology examinations for tissue analysis.
  • In-hospital care: Typically covers 2 nights of private hospitalisation with 24/7 nursing support.
  • Travel logistics: VIP airport-clinic-hotel transfers are standard in most mid-to-high tier medical packages.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While base packages start from $5,000, premium robotic options like those at Anadolu Medical Center cost up to $16,000. These higher-tier bundles often include specialised pathology. They are performed at facilities affiliated with prestigious institutions like Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Patient Consensus: Patients value how surgeons explain pros and cons thoroughly so everyone feels confident before surgery. Many find the inclusive transfers and 24-hour nursing care in Turkey make the recovery process much smoother.

When is it safe to fly back home after hysterectomy in Turkey?

Flying home from Turkey after a hysterectomy requires a waiting period between 7 and 14 days for short trips. Australian patients facing long-haul flights should ideally wait 4 to 6 weeks. Safety depends on surgical technique, clearance from their surgeon, and managing deep vein thrombosis risks.

  • Short-haul flights: Patients should wait 7–10 days after laparoscopic or robotic surgery before taking short flights.
  • Long-haul travel: Australian patients should wait 4–6 weeks for flights over 8 hours.
  • Abdominal surgery: Open procedures require at least 14 days before any air travel begins.
  • Hospital stay: Most Turkish packages include 2 days of inpatient care for initial monitoring.
  • Medical clearance: Patients should obtain a formal fit-to-fly certificate from their surgeon before heading home.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Anadolu Medical Center and other JCI-accredited hubs often bundle airport-to-hotel transfers. These VIP shuttles are vital. Patients frequently underestimate how painful a standard 45-minute car ride feels on day 6. Using the provided transfers helps avoid internal swelling triggered by vibrations.

Patient Consensus: Patients returning to Australia recommend waiting 4 to 6 weeks rather than the minimum 14 days. Even if pain feels manageable, patients should manage fatigue and avoid lifting luggage during transit. Patients should also factor in internal swelling that often flares up during long flights home.
