How Much Does ARTAS robotic hair transplant Cost in Turkey in AUD?

ARTAS robotic hair transplant in Turkey typically costs from AUD $12,255 to AUD $20,184. The final price depends on graft volume, clinic location, and the technologies used during your session. Patients save around 39% by travelling to Turkey from Australia, where this procedure costs AUD $20,184 on average. Most Turkish packages include 4-star or 5-star accommodation, airport transfers, and post-operative medications.

  • Istanbul medical hubs: Packages in Istanbul may cost 15–20% more than in regional cities.
  • Robotic-assisted precision: ARTAS technology typically adds 30–50% over standard manual Sapphire FUE techniques.
  • High-volume grafts: Sessions exceeding 3,000 grafts often require tiered pricing or multi-day sessions.
  • All-inclusive extras: Premium packages often bundle PRP therapy and clinical-grade shampoos into the final fee.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Precision robotic technology offers consistency, but value lies in clinical scale. Larger institutions like Medipol Mega University Hospital serve 1,000,000 patients every year. These facilities often offer competitive rates around A$3,100 to A$7,700 for advanced robotic sessions. For Australians, choosing clinics with JCI accreditation ensures that lower prices still meet global safety standards. Established hospitals like Memorial Şişli were among the first globally to earn this recognition. You can find high-density results without the steep private fees common in Sydney or Melbourne.

I give the highest mark to all these people and services
I would like to tell you about my case from the very beginning. A few years ago I approached the coordinator Stanislav about a hair transplant. He told me everything in general terms, what I was interested in, and made me interested in the proposal. I also explained that my work directly depends on my physical condition and I do not have a long break between contracts (my position is an aerial gymnast) and somehow this idea was put aside for 2 years and quite by chance we once again broached the subject of hair and literally in 3 days Stanislav was able to organise a clinic, a doctor, an interpreter, a hotel, and I was required to get tickets. Everything was organised as I said earlier in 3 days and that was it I am already in the hotel with transplanted hair and waiting for the result) if I evaluate all aspects of the service, clinic, doctors and hotel, I give the highest mark to all these people and services. Huge thanks to Stanislav, who helped me to agree even on the financial side, making it more favourable.

The staff were incredibly supportive and attentive; I would give them 5/5 without hesitation
If I were asked to describe my experience in one word, I would say ‘well-balanced’. The Sapphire FUE procedure, during which 4,000–5,000 grafts were transplanted, went exactly to plan. The staff were incredibly supportive and attentive; I would give them 5/5 without hesitation. As for the surgeon’s work and the clinic itself, there are a couple of areas that could be improved, so I’d give them a 4/5. Recovery is going well: there’s a slight tightness in the donor area, but it’s not a big deal. New stubble is already starting to grow. The main thing is that it’s perfectly possible to sleep — the neck pillow really does help. I would recommend this place to my friends with an 8 out of 10 rating.

Whether it's the doctors, nurses or reception staff, many other hospitals should take inspiration from the Turkish hospital model
The quality of the hospital service is second to none, with well-organised, highly competent services that are always available to patients. Whether it's the doctors, nurses or reception staff, many other hospitals should take inspiration from the Turkish hospital model. The hospitals are like luxury hotels, you feel good, you are looked after and followed throughout your stay. Finally, the money I spent there was really justified. Thank you to everyone who looked after me during my 14-day stay. Of course I recommend Istanbul Memorial Hospital. Antonio. M

The clinic staff have been incredibly attentive, which has made these first few weeks much easier
To be honest, my biggest fear was that the asymmetry of my nostrils—the main issue with my first operation—couldn’t be corrected. The surgeon calmly explained the open approach he would use and put me completely at ease. Now, just 15 days on, the recovery process is progressing well. Although it’s too early to judge the bridge of my nose, I can already see that the tip of my nose has improved projection. The clinic staff have been incredibly attentive, which has made these first few weeks much easier. I am grateful for the care I have received.
The doctor is an incredible person on a personal level, and as a doctor, he’s one of the top three in the world

Overall, the organisation of the entire process was of a high standard
My main concern was the pain associated with the procedure itself and the subsequent recovery. Fortunately, my fears proved unfounded. I underwent a DHI transplant, with a total of between 4,000 and 5,000 grafts transplanted. Now, 15 days on, the healing process is progressing normally. The only thing is that the donor area remains sensitive to touch, but this is to be expected during recovery. The coordination and work of the clinic staff were clear and straightforward at every stage. The surgeon and his team worked very smoothly together. Overall, the organisation of the entire process was of a high standard.

The surgeon and staff were precise throughout the process, ensuring the technical details were handled correctly
My biggest concern before arriving was the recovery process and whether placing 4000-5000 grafts would feel overwhelming during the initial healing phase. Two weeks after the Sapphire FUE procedure, the most prominent sensation is a slight tightness in the donor area, which is manageable and seems to be improving daily. The surgeon and staff were precise throughout the process, ensuring the technical details were handled correctly. Right now, new stubble is already growing in the recipient area. The progress is visible. I spent a lot of time researching the sapphire method because of its precision for high-density transplants. While the early days required some patience, the current results seem to be on track. The clinic followed all protocols strictly. I am monitoring the growth closely.
The organisation was simply brilliant! The staff were polite and professional, and our coordinator, Bibi, was always on hand; any issues were resolved quickly and professionally! The driver was very thoughtful and punctual, and the hotel was superb. Everything was thought through down to the smallest detail. I’m absolutely delighted!

The surgeon and the clinic staff handled the technical side with systematic efficiency, making the entire process feel very controlled
My biggest concern was the recovery period and whether the DHI method would leave visible scarring or unbearable pain. Two weeks later, the reality is much more manageable than I anticipated during my initial research. The team transplanted between 4000 and 5000 grafts, and the precision of the work is evident as I navigate these first fifteen days of healing. Currently, I only feel a slight tightness in the donor area, which is a common sensation at this stage. The surgeon and the clinic staff handled the technical side with systematic efficiency, making the entire process feel very controlled. It takes real patience. For anyone looking into this, focusing on the post-op care instructions is just as vital as the surgery itself.

I am grateful to bookmed for helping me choose a clinic. Everything that was promised was fulfilled in full! We were met and organised everything very efficiently in terms of time. The interpreter Akilai was very good, she solved all our queries and questions very quickly and was available 24/7. Dr Hakan - hair transplant and Dr Ibrahim Renoseptoplasty are very competent. I would like to mention Dr Hakan in particular, he was very attentive, friendly and open, explained everything and took care of us...The doctors did a great job and now everything depends on how carefully their recommendations will be followed during the rehabilitation period.

The wife is smart
My wife made a surprise - a trip to Turkey and a hair transplant. I found out about this within a few hours. I liked the clinic. We met at the airport. True, there was a tire puncture and we sold it in about 40 minutes. We were given 5 stars. Quite good with a good breakfast. It is not located in the very center, but getting there by taxi is no problem. About 20 minutes. The transplant took about 6 hours. First, they take blood for analysis. AIDS and all that. Then they shave. Next, a lot of anesthesia is injected into the donor area. 30 injections. More unpleasant than painful. Then they begin to shave and pull out the follicles. They said they took 4500. I didn’t count. Next, about 30 injections into the transplant area. Well, they start planting follicles like mushrooms. It feels like you're piercing cardboard with a pen. No pain. Between procedures they provide excellent food. Then bandage and go home. This is the most unpleasant and painful topic an hour before the end. The painkillers began to wear off and this was much worse than the injections themselves. But everything is tolerable. Childbirth is probably more painful. I liked everything except the woman doctor. She addressed me not as a patient, but as a bad boss addressing a subordinate. Always twice, but that was enough for me. "Mister, stand up!" the tone of the German officer is not exactly what I would like to hear. But the translator Olga worked 200%. She still supervises me and is always in touch. The director is a great guy. By the way, the assistant is also great. I recommend the clinic. The wife is smart. A good choice and most importantly, they didn’t try to bully me about the need for two trips for an amount many times more than I paid. I will see the result only in a year. In the meantime, only 12 days have passed. And, for the first time, it will be very difficult to sleep on your back. It's not a dream. You need to make sure you don’t scratch your head, lie down on it, and so on. But it's worth it. Good luck.

All in all, I fully recommend this clinic
From the first contact, the support team were very accommodating, professional and was helpful to answer any of my queries. I arrived Istanbul slightly earlier before my hair transplant date to go sightseeing, and they were able to accommodate my schedule including pickup and drop of to airport. They even went above and beyond by helping me to get a transfer from the hotel that I I initially stayed to another hotel that was provided by them. The facilities of the clinic was quite good, and they had the necessary staff that would make or break a good surgery. The Dr spoke good English, was full of empathy of how I felt about my hair, and provided a recommendation on what I needed to do in line with what I wanted to achieve. The transplant was smooth even though it was quite long. However, with the medications they give you, it's not that bad. This also depends on how many grafts you intend to do. I initially thought I was going to be in a lot of pain during and a few days after the operation, but thankfully none of that happened to me. I didn't even have swelling. All in all, I fully recommend this clinic. I'm currently on Day 3, so I have yet to see the results, but so far everything looks okay and is healing quite well
Everything from start to finish was handled very well for me. The clinic and Bookimed were very accommodating to whatever I needed. Very minimal planning on my end because they already handled it
Tbh, everything was good.

Thank you very much to her for her timely and quick help throughout the entire period
Everything went quite well....first of all, of course, thanks to the girl Natalia Bruyaka, who was always in touch and helped solve all the questions that I had along the way...Thank you very much to her for her timely and quick help on throughout the entire period... Everything was organized well... we were met at the airport, a VIP transfer, a black Mercedes, the driver, unfortunately, I don’t remember his name - a great guy, just an ace, took him to the hotel... Everything in the hotel super, 5 stars, good finishing, excellent staff, we were accommodated on the 8th floor, with a beautiful view of the city.... The next day we arrived at the clinic... They paid there, and without delay, they invited us to the operating room... The team is excellent , young guys and girls, cheerful and relaxed, (they even sang songs during the transplant)... the transplant went quite quickly, they got it done in 5 hours, because the people know their stuff, they are all true professionals, both the doctor and the guy, who drew the hair line, and the girls who were assistants....Everything is at the highest level..The transplant itself is painless, only at the very beginning, when the painkiller was administered, it was a little painful, but it lasted about 10 minutes.. In general, I am satisfied with the transplant itself , I hope that the result will not be good, we’ll see in a year.. Then we were taken back to the hotel, and I spent that day in the room, did not go anywhere.... The next day I had a rest day, and the hotel staff organized a tour for us to the historical center of Istanbul... We had a great time there, and a day later they took me back to the clinic, showed me and washed my hair, and the ace driver took us to the airport... Bottom line: without much strain, I had a hair transplant and my wife and I had a great time in Istanbul, trying different dishes, making excursions and having the opportunity to shop... Thank you very much to those people who organize such tours and carry out such work... I am very grateful to them...

FAQ about ARTAS robotic hair transplant in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What is an ARTAS robotic hair transplant in Turkey?

The ARTAS robotic hair transplant in Turkey uses AI to automate follicular unit extraction (FUE). It offers precise graft harvesting but often causes more donor area damage and scarring than skilled manual FUE. Surgeons typically implant grafts manually after the robot extracts them.

  • Robotic extraction: automated by AI-guided system selecting follicles digitally.
  • Donor trauma: larger punch sizes can cause more scarring and slower healing.
  • Implantation: mostly done by surgeons manually, not by the robot.
  • Expertise caution: many top surgeons prefer manual FUE for better precision.
  • Recovery: takes several weeks; full results may take 12–14 months.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Despite marketing hype, ARTAS robotic transplants in Turkey tend to cost more but deliver poorer results than manual FUE. Australian patients often favour skilled surgeons performing manual FUE and choose clinics minimising donor site damage. Checking punch sizes and surgeon involvement improves outcomes.

Patient Consensus: Australian patients report ARTAS causing more donor scarring and longer recovery in Turkey. Many prefer clinics where expert surgeons handle extraction and implantation manually for natural, less traumatic results.

Why choose the ARTAS robot over traditional FUE for a hair transplant in Turkey?

The ARTAS robot offers precise, AI-guided follicle harvesting with real-time adjustments, improving accuracy over traditional FUE. It speeds graft extraction to 500–1,000 per hour and reduces surgeon fatigue. This is beneficial in busy Turkish clinics like Smile Hair Clinic in Istanbul, known for skilled surgeons.

  • Precision harvesting: ARTAS uses AI to select follicles and reduce human error.
  • Extraction speed: 500–1,000 hair grafts harvested per hour by the robot.
  • Donor area impact: ARTAS uses larger punches, potentially causing more donor hair injury.
  • Surgeon role: Robot assists in extraction; surgeons focus on natural hairline design.
  • Popular clinics: Istanbul’s Smile Hair Clinic offers ARTAS with experienced plastic surgeons.

Bookimed Expert Insight: The ARTAS robot is often promoted in Turkish clinics, but experienced surgeons at Smile Hair Clinic focus on natural design and donor planning. Patients value manual techniques like Choi pen implantation in Turkey for achieving denser, more natural results beyond robotic harvesting.

Patient Consensus: Australian patients in Turkey note ARTAS may cause more donor damage and cost more per graft. Manual FUE wins for safer donor areas and denser results, especially with short hairstyles. Patients advise prioritising surgeon skill over robot hype for best hair transplant outcomes.

Does the ARTAS robotic hair transplant in Turkey leave scars?

The ARTAS robotic hair transplant in Turkey leaves tiny, dot-like micro-scars, not large linear scars. These micro-scars heal quickly and are usually invisible unless the donor area is shaved very short. The procedure is minimally invasive and scar-free compared to traditional strip methods.

  • No linear scars: ARTAS extracts follicles individually, avoiding long incisions.
  • Micro-scars: Small circular marks appear in the donor area and heal rapidly.
  • Punch size: Robotic punches are slightly larger than manual FUE ones.
  • Healing time: Micro-scars typically fade within 12–14 months.
  • Surgeon experience: Skilled surgeons reduce visible scarring risk.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics in Istanbul offering ARTAS generally balance robot precision with expert care. Surgeons like Dr Mehmet Asil Onay at Istanbul Care Clinic combine sapphire micro-blade techniques and PRP to speed healing and minimise scarring. Patients should ask about punch size and healing protocols when choosing clinics to avoid visible micro-scars.

Patient Consensus: Patients say ARTAS leaves no long scar but tiny dots show if shaved super short. These scars fade enough within a year to allow comfortable normal shaving. Local surgeons’ attention to punch size matters most for neat results in Turkey.

How long does an ARTAS robotic hair transplant procedure take in Turkey, and what is the recovery time?

An ARTAS robotic hair transplant in Turkey takes about 9 hours, including breaks, to harvest and implant over 2,000 grafts. Recovery starts with a critical 48-hour rest. Most scabs clear by 4–7 days, but donor areas may take up to 3 weeks to fully heal.

  • Procedure duration: About 9 hours including breaks during graft harvesting and placement.
  • Recovery first 48 hours: Critical rest with head elevated and tape on scalp to reduce swelling.
  • Hair washing allowed: From the second day after surgery.
  • Scab clearance: Generally by 4 to 7 days post-op.
  • Donor area healing: Can take up to 3 weeks, sometimes visibly bloody after robotic extraction.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Australian patients should plan a 6-night stay in Turkey. Staying longer ensures full scab clearance and better healing before flying home. Clinics often combine robotic extraction with manual implantation, which balances precision and natural results. Confirm graft survival ratios for best outcomes.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey report long procedure days, starting early and ending late afternoon. Many recommend resting 4–7 days post-op for a stress-free recovery. Washing hair from day two eases care, and longer stays help avoid travel too soon after surgery.

Who is the ideal candidate for an ARTAS robotic hair transplant in Turkey?

The ideal candidate for an ARTAS robotic hair transplant in Turkey is an adult aged 25–60 with stable pattern baldness and sufficient donor hair. Candidates typically have straight, dark hair and healthy scalp skin. They seek precise, minimal scarring graft extraction mainly in the crown or hairline areas.

  • Hair type: Best for straight, dark hair due to ARTAS imaging requirements.
  • Donor area: Requires healthy, dense hair on the back or sides of the head.
  • Hair loss: Suitable for androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern baldness).
  • Age range: Usually between 25 and 60 years for optimal results.
  • Limitations: Not ideal for curly/coarse hair or very dark skin tones.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Despite the robotic tech appeal, many Turkish clinics favour manual FUE for safer scarring and better graft survival. Surgeons like Dr Mehmet Erdogan at Smile Hair Clinic use advanced FUE, focusing on donor planning and aesthetics. Australian patients should verify surgeon expertise beyond AI use claims to avoid disappointing results.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey report that robotic extraction can cause noticeable scarring and a longer healing donor area. Many advise choosing skilled manual FUE surgeons for natural results and less visible graft site damage. Full outcomes take up to 14 months to appear.

What is included in Turkish ARTAS robotic hair transplant packages?

Turkish ARTAS robotic hair transplant packages typically include the ARTAS iXi robot for precise follicle extraction, local anaesthesia, and pre-op blood tests. Packages often cover 2–3 nights’ hotel stay, VIP airport transfers, post-op medications, and follow-up care with English-speaking coordinators.

  • Robot technology: 10th generation ARTAS iXi for accurate graft harvesting.
  • Medical prep: blood tests and surgeon consultation before procedure.
  • Accommodation: usually 2–3 nights in 4- or 5-star hotels.
  • Transfers: VIP private car service to and from airport and clinic.
  • Aftercare: medications, special shampoos, and hair washing included.
  • Follow-up: monitoring and scalp health check-ups after surgery.
  • Language support: English-speaking coordinators assist throughout treatment.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics in Istanbul and Antalya offer all-inclusive packages, but the exact inclusions vary. Clinics like Soraca Med include city tours and 24/7 doctor support, while others prioritise robotic technology and aftercare. Confirm ARTAS robot use specifically, as clinics may offer other techniques under robotic claims.

Patient Consensus: Patients advise checking if the package covers pre-op tests and post-op meds. Many found airport transfers and hotel stays standard, but the number of nights varies. English-speaking coordinators make the process easier for Australians. Recovery usually involves minor scalp redness with a fast return to normal activities.
