I will confidently recommend you to my friends and family!
Good afternoon! I would like to leave a review: I would like to express my sincere gratitude to your company for the impeccable organisation of my examination. Every stage was thought out down to the smallest detail, which allowed me to feel completely safe and comfortable. Special thanks to the doctors — Dr. Bülent and Dr. Kemal. They are top-level specialists whose attention to detail and professionalism command deep respect. I really appreciate the thorough approach they took to my diagnosis. I would also like to thank the coordinator, Seda, for her sensitivity, and the female translators who accompanied me every step of the way and were a real support. I wish you prosperity, and the doctors further success in their noble work. I will confidently recommend you to my friends and family!

Honestly, I'm in awe from this experience
The hospital was fantastic, room was private, with all required amenities, cafe - lovely, everything was beautiful and clean. Staff were just so accommodating, my Doctor was knowledgeable, explained the procedure in detail. Honestly, I'm in awe from this experience. And even though I was coming in with a slight fear and a tiny panic attack, there was really no need to worry, everything is on a highest level! Thanks to all!
Translators were top notch! Everything was amazing, I can't select just one thing.
Had issue with payment, it kept getting rejected and due to this I wasn't admitted right away. But once payment went through, all services followed smoothly.

I felt like we had VIP treatment
My care was very good from start to finish. As soon as I arrived at the hospital, I was greeted by my interpreter and team. They were very friendly, put me at ease and explained what would happen and when. I had checks done and blood taken etc and met the consultant. He was absolutely lovely and again explained the whole procedure. I also met with the Anaesthetist. My procedure was completed and the care was fantastic from all the staff involved. The room and hospital were great. I felt like we had VIP treatment. The Hotel was also nice and everything runs like clockwork. Thanks to all the team but, especially to Ishmeal, Senna and Doctor Ozturk.
Always being told what was happening. Interpretor always on hand.

I would like to express my gratitude to my attending doctor, surgeon, my coordinator, all nurses and interpreters
I was treated for breast cancer, I liked everything, I had chemotherapy, surgery, and radiotherapy, and now every 3 months I have check-ups. I would like to express my gratitude to my attending doctor, surgeon, my coordinator, all nurses and interpreters, I remember when I first arrived, I was so confused, panic and fear. I was left with only positive emotions after the consultation
First of all I would like to thank the Bookimed support team, especially the coordinators for the work they did and putting together the programme in the shortest possible time. I requested an online consultation with a Turkish oncology professor and was pleasantly surprised that within 48 hours after the request my consultation took place. I was left with only positive emotions after the consultation. Special thanks to the coordinator Yulia Voloshchuk and Anya Patarkalashvili!
Excellent organisation and ability to listen and hear individual patient needs .

"The result of the consultation was more than satisfactory
The most basic and most important is the medical equipment for a complete high-quality diagnosis. A small minus is the very low quality of the Internet, from the wishes: the possibility of placing on the territory of a small street sports complex. The territory of the clinic, the ward, the clinic itself comply with all modern world standards.

Because I know how difficult it is to make choices and remove unnecessary emotions, especially when it comes to health, especially when it's not just about yours. In April I chose where to make a PET CT analysis for my mother, who had completed 25 chemistries, and at the same time wanted to choose a place where she would check herself. Closer to 30, you understand that "less you know - better sleep" does not always work in the field of your own health or your loved ones. I knew about Bukimed from my comrades, this time I tried on myself. I will thank you for your patience and steadfastness in the list of questions that I asked our coordinator - Konstantin. You understand that at some moments you're meticulous, but it's all important for a comfortable passage not the most enjoyable journey. We went through all the procedures in the clinic of Anadol, near Istanbul. Meet, transfer to the hotel, and from there to the hospital - for free and almost as clearly as possible in Turkey. The reasons for choosing this place: quick access from Kharkov, more affordable price in comparison with Europe, the opportunity to undergo examinations for mom, and me. Of the pros, for a reasonable price (check up cost ~ 600 ye), you went through most important doctors in 1.5 days, passed a number of important tests and the next day received information from the therapist about what and how. I hope for the professionalism and quality of the equipment, so that the data are 100% correct. Of the big drawbacks: everything is not on schedule, the host party is trying to catch the maximum flow of "tourists", so get ready to wait 2-3 hours from the appointed time. NOT all doctors - luminaries and "picking" deep into the question, so, unfortunately, were and are everywhere. Therefore, if you eat with an important and extremely decisive question, try to check that all your questions and documents are studied and passed on to specialists. We had a failure with this. In general, this experience is less stressful than the Ukrainian version, the feeling that you are going for the features of your side, a pleasant climate - allows you to relax a little and add a good mood for important things!

All the steps of all the doctors and staff are so coordinated that pleases the eye
(Breast cancer) 2024 At the time of contacting Bookimed we only knew the country of treatment and Julia (Coordinator at Bookimed) helped us with our choice. Thank her so much! At Bookimed we were looking for an unbiased approach to selecting a treatment facility and help with treatment discounts. They did their part 100 per cent professionally! Everything at the clinic was at the right level. From the transfer to the assistance with accommodation. Speaking of the most important thing, the diagnosis and treatment was top notch. After seeing this attitude to patients and to our work, we confidently put our trust in the professionals of this clinic! My sister is 31 years old. Breast could not be saved, we had to replace it with an implant! The operation went so smoothly that on the third day we were discharged, and a week later, we were already at home. All the steps of all the doctors and staff are so coordinated that pleases the eye. Today is 2 months since the operation and in a month we will have our first check-up. In shaa Alloh, everything will be fine!!!
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of services. The breast was removed, an implant was inserted and in 3 days we were discharged, and in another 3 days we were already at home. And after 20 days from the day of surgery, we have already fully recovered and started chemo. It's a miracle. I will say one thing, don't waste time, if you have a diagnosis, get treatment soon. We had stage 1 before surgery and after surgery it turned out to be stage 2A. PLEASE DON'T WASTE ANY TIME!!!
Only positive emotions from this clinic!

From visiting the clinic and undergoing examination were only negative impressions. Appointed to the doctor for 10 days at a certain time, and got an hour later! All tests were taken promptly, in 1 day and promised the results and a visit to the doctor in 2-3 days (the doctor himself said that everything needs to be done very quickly, because I needed urgent treatment), and silence .... Irada I didn’t answer calls ... We only got contact with the help of Bookimed employees! In general, we got to the doctor only after a week, and we were told that we needed to do another examination !!! (remembered) In general, we lost time in vain, which is very important for cancer patients, nerves and money ... Many thanks to the girls from Bookimed for support, help and patience Ie !!! I am grateful to Katerina, Daria, Olga and Darina for the help and support !!! I do not recommend Medipole. I am undergoing treatment in another clinic!

The work is coordinated, competent and professional
Good day to all. I wanted to write about the Anadolu clinic. The choice fell on her based on reviews. But I would like to mention curator Marina from Bookimed and curator Zahida from the clinic. The work is coordinated, competent and professional. 24/7. They were undergoing treatment for oncology. It's not just the treatment that's different. But also the attitude towards this group of patients. Everything is aimed at the result of treatment. The presentation of the diagnosis and the stage of the disease are not emphasized. Which is very important for cancer patients. A professional with a capital P and a very good person - oncomammologist Kemal Bey. His whole team. Anesthesiologists and plastic surgeons. and of course nurses. Translator Khalid. 24/7. And of course Zahida. Our curator. Professional. Always in touch. Will always support. I'm sure . We will recover. Thank you all very much

The doctor-oncologist was very welcoming and friendly
Good day! Our stay in this clinic took 12 days. We were at the beginning of December 2021. My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, since in our country they refused to accept her with her family, they decided to look for a clinic. Thanks to the operators of the Bookimed website, they helped to collect the necessary documents, translated all our analyzes available at that time in our hands and sent them to the Anadolu clinic that we chose. We waited 4 days for a response from the clinic. During this time, we were informed by the operators-consultants of the Bookimed website about our further treatment plan that the clinic offered us. With the help of operators, it was Ruslana, thanks to her she always got in touch. From the side of the clinic, a transfer was organized from the airport to the hotel and back, then to the clinic for every need, a hotel was also booked, which was located 10-15 minutes drive from the hotel. After arriving the next day, examinations and analyzes began to take place almost immediately. We decided to give everything from 0, from blood tests, biopsy, ultrasound, MRI and PET-CT. All in all it took 1 day. The clinic is very

Cancer hates time, every moment counts
Turkey opened up for me from a completely different side! Medicine at the highest level! Everything is fast, clear. I am very grateful to the doctors for the accuracy and, most importantly, efficiency! In two days, I underwent a full examination, which in our oncology could take more than one month. I have aggressive breast cancer, tumor 3 cm. On the first ultrasound, she was 2 cm, while I was being examined in our oncology, and this is a month before the diagnosis, the tumor increased by a centimeter. After 4 chemotherapies, the tumor became less than a centimeter, which allows surgery without removing the mammary gland. Before visiting the Anadolu clinic, cancer sounded like a sentence, it seemed everything, was it really the end? But when you get to doctors of this level, the confidence in recovery does not leave for a second. Cancer hates time, every moment counts. I managed to stop him! And I think without Anadolu I would have had less chance of such a happy ending. I want to say a special thank you to coordinator Alexei, he led me until they met me at the Istanbul airport. Due to the pandemic, there were many controversies whether or not they would be allowed into the country. The airline employees gave different information, which drove into panic. Alexey trusted in me the confidence that I would finish without problems, and that is exactly what happened. And of course I would like to mention my translator Lyudmila, who is constantly in touch. Questions that arise during treatment never go unanswered!

Expert Overview about Breast cancer Treatment in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What is the typical duration of a stay in Turkey for breast cancer treatment?

Patients typically stay in Turkey for 10 to 14 days for breast cancer surgery. This timeframe allowing for preoperative tests, the procedure, and essential follow-up. More complex cases involving chemotherapy or radiotherapy require stays from several weeks to a few months.

  • Hospitalisation period: Most surgical packages include 2 days of clinical care.
  • Initial recovery: Clinics like Liv Hospital Ulus bundle 6 nights of hotel stay.
  • Diagnostic speed: Major centres often complete bloods, biopsies, and PET-CT scans within 24 hours.
  • Surgical discharge: Patients are often discharged on the third day after successful mastectomy procedures.
  • Follow-up checks: Post-operative exams usually occur 7 to 10 days after surgery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Coordination speed is a major differentiator in Turkey. While public systems may take 6 weeks to start, private hubs like Anadolu Medical Center frequently move from arrival to surgery in just 8 days. For Australians, this efficiency minimises total hotel costs and shortens the time spent away from home.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that Turkey offers specialised medicine where diagnostics like PET-CT and biopsies are completed rapidly within 3 days. They value the coordinated transfers and the ability to combine surgery with immediate reconstruction, often returning home within 2 weeks.

What treatment methods are available for breast cancer in Turkey?

Turkey offers breast cancer treatments including robotic-assisted surgery, precision radiation therapy, and systemic treatments. Clinics use da Vinci systems for mastectomies and CyberKnife or Gamma Knife for targeted radiation. Board-certified specialists treat 500,000+ international patients annually across JCI-accredited facilities in Istanbul.

  • Surgical options: Mastectomies range from nipple-sparing to modified radical procedures.
  • Robotic systems: da Vinci XI technology allows for smaller incisions during surgery.
  • Radiotherapy: Platforms like CyberKnife and Tomotherapy target tumours precisely.
  • Systemic therapy: Options include chemotherapy and immunotherapy drugs like Keytruda.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkey serves over 500,000 international patients annually. This high volume builds significant expertise in complex cases. Surgeons like Dr Levhi Akın at Liv Hospital Ulus belong to the European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists. Specialists often have experience with 1,000+ procedures, leading to refined surgical outcomes.

Patient Consensus: Patients note the speed of diagnosis in Istanbul. They often complete PET/CT scans and biopsies within 48 hours. They also appreciate support from interpreters and coordinators who manage logistics during treatment.

What support services are available for international patients undergoing breast cancer treatment in Turkey?

International patients receive comprehensive support including personal coordinators, 24/7 interpreter services, and VIP airport-to-clinic transfers. Major JCI-accredited centres like Anadolu Medical Center or Liv Hospital Ulus often bundle these logistics with diagnostics and surgical treatment. These services typically streamline hospital stays and recovery for overseas visitors.

  • Personal coordinators: Dedicated staff manage multidisciplinary scheduling and 24/7 patient communication during the stay.
  • Translation services: Professional interpreters accompany patients through consultations, imaging, surgery, and discharge instructions.
  • Travel logistics: Most packages include private airport-clinic-hotel transfers and assistance with nearby hotel bookings.
  • Follow-up care: Leading clinics provide written post-operative plans and teleconsultation options for returning home.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Most think all-inclusive means everything. However, Bookimed data shows a significant gap in accommodation. For instance, Liv Hospital Ulus packages include 6 hotel nights. In contrast, Gayrettepe Florence Nightingale and some CyberKnife offers explicitly exclude hotel stays. Patients should confirm hotel inclusion upfront. A 7-night stay in Istanbul can add A$1,000 to the total cost.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey highlight the relief of having interpreters lead them through every test. They note that coordinating imaging, biopsies, and surgery into just 3 days makes the process feel efficient and well-organised.

What kind of medical technologies are used for breast cancer diagnosis and treatment in Turkey?

Turkish oncology centres use technologies like AI-supported 3 Tesla MRI, digital PET/CT, and robotic systems for breast cancer. Diagnosis follows international protocols within JCI-accredited facilities. Specialists perform robot-assisted surgery and precision radiotherapy, such as CyberKnife, to treat tumours while sparing healthy tissue.

  • Diagnostic imaging: High-resolution ultrasound, digital PET/CT, and AI-supported 3 Tesla MRI allow for precise staging.
  • Robotic surgery: Surgeons use the da Vinci XI system for nipple-sparing and reconstructive procedures.
  • Precision radiation: CyberKnife and MR Linac systems track tumour movement to protect healthy organs.
  • Targeted therapies: Clinics provide modern immunotherapy, including Keytruda, and genetic screening for personalised care.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish cancer centres, like Memorial Göztepe, now use MR Linac systems. These systems combine MRI imaging with radiation. This allows doctors to see tumours in real-time during treatment. This high-density technology is rare globally but standard in Istanbul's top oncology departments for minimising side effects.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey highlight the speed of diagnostics. They often complete mammography, ultrasound, and biopsies within two days. Many note that coordination between surgeons and interpreters makes the complex treatment process feel manageable.

Do hospitals in Turkey accept international health insurance for breast cancer treatment?

Many private Turkish hospitals accept international health insurance for breast cancer care. JCI-accredited facilities like Anadolu Medical Center and Liv Hospital often offer direct billing with global insurers. Patients must confirm coverage and pre-approval with their provider before starting treatment in Istanbul or Antalya.

  • Direct billing: Major centres often bill insurers like Cigna Global directly for surgical costs.
  • Hospital groups: Memorial and Florence Nightingale hospitals have dedicated departments for international insurance claims.
  • Accreditation: Leading hospitals including Hisar Hospital Intercontinental hold Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation.
  • Clinical affiliations: Anadolu Medical Center maintains an affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine for specialised care.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While direct billing is common for surgeries, chemotherapy and immunotherapy often require upfront payment. Data shows clinics like Memorial Göztepe specialise in complex chemo protocols. Patients should request a quote with ICD codes to help with reimbursement from their insurer.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey report that coordinators and interpreters manage the paperwork easily. This helps the process run smoothly. Many note that the speed of diagnosis and treatment is much faster than at home.

Why would an Australian patient consider Turkey for breast cancer treatment?

Australian patients often choose Turkey for breast cancer treatment to avoid long public waitlists and high private surgery costs. Leading Turkish centres maintain Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. They offer technologies like MR Linac, da Vinci robotic systems, and CyberKnife for precise tumour targeting.

  • Technological edge: Centres like Memorial Göztepe use MR Linac and AI-supported 3 Tesla MRI.
  • Expert credentials: Many oncologists, such as Professor Yesim Yildirim, hold European Society for Medical Oncology certifications.
  • Academic affiliations: Anadolu Medical Center is affiliated with Johns Hopkins Hospital, following strict clinical protocols.
  • Comprehensive packages: Mastectomy packages at Hisar Hospital start from approximately A$4,400, including surgical fees.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Basic mastectomy packages are affordable. However, Australians seeking reconstruction should look at Memorial Ataşehir Hospital. Their A$9,400 package includes an ASPS-certified surgeon, seven hotel nights, and all transfers. This inclusion model often proves more cost-effective than booking separate stages. It covers the 7-day monitoring period needed for successful implant integration.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Turkey describe receiving VIP treatment where everything runs smoothly. Many note that imaging there often catches tumours missed elsewhere. They recommend being prepared for busy clinics since top specialists attract many international cases.

Will I need to stay in Turkey for the entire duration of my breast cancer treatment?

Patients do not need to stay in Turkey for their entire breast cancer journey. Surgical stays typically last 1 to 2 weeks for recovery. Longer treatments like chemotherapy or radiotherapy require multiple visits. This may also involve an extended stay of several months in JCI-accredited facilities.

  • Surgical duration: Mastectomy usually requires 2 days in hospital and 6 days of local recovery.
  • Outpatient procedures: CyberKnife and Gamma Knife treatments are often outpatient, requiring only a few days.
  • Systemic therapy: Chemotherapy and radiotherapy involve multiple sessions over several weeks or months.
  • Staged approach: Many patients return home between surgery and the start of adjuvant therapies.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish oncology centres like Anadolu Medical Center provide personal coordinators and interpreters. This infrastructure allows patients to bridge care effectively between Turkey and Australia. Many patients have surgery in Istanbul and return home for chemotherapy under local specialist supervision.

Patient Consensus: Patients find the coordination between Turkish specialists and back home vital for long-term recovery. Many note that fast diagnostics allow for surgery within days of arrival in Istanbul.

Do doctors and medical staff in Turkey speak English?

Specialists at private Turkish hospitals generally speak fluent English. Medical training there often involves English-language instruction. Major centres like Anadolu Medical Center maintain Johns Hopkins affiliations. This helps clinicians communicate effectively with international patients. Dedicated interpreters often assist with nursing care and administrative tasks.

  • Specialist proficiency: Surgeons such as Dr Levhi Akın often hold European board certifications.
  • Clinical collaboration: Anadolu Medical Center maintains a formal partnership with Johns Hopkins Hospital.
  • Translation support: JCI-accredited clinics provide personal coordinators and on-site interpreters for appointments.
  • Education standards: Many doctors, like Prof Dr Yesim Yildirim, complete international fellowships in English-speaking countries.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While specialists are often fluent, English levels among ward nurses can vary. Bookimed data shows that packages at top-tier clinics include personal coordinators. Clinics like Liv Hospital Ulus or Anadolu offer this service. These staff members bridge communication gaps during hospital stays. This is vital for post-operative safety.

Patient Consensus: Patients note that doctors communicate clearly in English. However, an interpreter is essential for navigating daily hospital logistics. Patients emphasise that translation support in Istanbul makes the process feel safe and professional.
