How Much Does Vaginoplasty Cost in Thailand in AUD?

Vaginoplasty in Thailand typically ranges from AUD $1,826 / ฿A62,086 to AUD $16,856 / ฿A573,098, depending on whether the procedure is cosmetic or part of gender-affirming surgery. While simple tightening starts at the lower end, complex gender-affirming techniques requiring skin grafts or intestinal segments cost more. Patients from Australia save approximately 42% compared to local private costs of AUD $16,153 / ฿A549,219. High-tier packages often include multi-night hospital stays and recovery accommodation.

  • Hymenoplasty: AUD $2,388 / ฿A81,189 to AUD $4,214 / ฿A143,274 for surgical restoration of the hymen.
  • Vulvoplasty: AUD $3,090 / ฿A105,068 to AUD $4,916 / ฿A167,153 for reshaping external genital structures.

  • G-spot augmentation: AUD $3,231 / ฿A109,844 to AUD $5,619 / ฿A191,033 for enhancing sexual sensitivity.
  • Gender-affirming techniques: advanced methods like peritoneal pull-through or sigmoid colon typically add 30-50% over standard penile inversion.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing specialized hubs like Wansiri Hospital or Yanhee International Hospital provides access to surgeons who treat thousands of international patients annually. In Bangkok, bundles often cover essential long-term recovery needs. For instance, some packages include 5 nights in hospital plus 17 nights in a hotel. This ensures professional support during the critical early healing phase, which is rarely bundled in Australian private clinics.

Data verified by Bookimed as of August 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 245 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

The assistants and the doctors were great, clear explanations, details
The assistants and the doctors were great, clear explanations, details. The care from the assistant before operation and after, the next day it was great. However, the grab taxis for consultations were not very comfortable—not spacious, not comfortable, old tapestry, smell inside, which made us feel annoyed before surgery when already nervous and irritated. When we came back for post-operative checking we already made an appointment but in the end we had to wait 2 hours more from the appointed hour.

I’m feeling better than expected this early on
My main worries before the procedure were the recovery process and the final look of the scars. My surgeon was very direct about both, clearly explaining the realistic results, the swelling timeline, and exactly where the incisions for my full neck lift would be placed behind the ears. This honesty was appreciated. The procedure was done under general anesthesia, and I’m feeling better than expected this early on. The clinic’s support has been solid; they gave me a clear aftercare guide and have been easy to reach with questions. It was also a relief that there were no additional expenses on top of the quoted price.

The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations
Waking up, I felt groggy but managed. The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations. The incision was placed under the breast, which is what I wanted. I am still in the early recovery phase, and it has its challenges. My pain has lessened to a mild discomfort, but sleeping through the night is difficult, and my nipples are uncomfortably hypersensitive. Overall, the medical care was solid, though the recovery process itself is demanding. It’s a serious undertaking.

Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care
Monsplaty, Tummy Tuck and 360 Liposuction. My biggest concern going into this was what the recovery would actually feel like. It's not easy. The most challenging part has definitely been the constant tight feeling, which is something to be prepared for. My surgeon used a combination of liposuction and excision. Right now there is still some swelling, so it’s too early to know how my clothes will fit differently in the end. Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care. It was a professional and supportive environment, and I'm glad I made the choice to go there.
Very clean, very inviting. After care was good too. Everything was quick and easy. Communication via whatsapp made things easier as well. I travelled solo and the staff helped that little extra.
After surgery garments are not forgiving for us longer torso people. They were a bit short which added a lil discomfort when it rolled at the back. Other than that everything was really good.

Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected
Seeing the surgical site for the first time was the moment everything finally felt real. Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected. We used the penile inversion technique, and while the results look promising, the recovery requires a lot of patience and steady commitment to the healing process. My biggest challenge at this stage is definitely the physical discomfort of being seated for a long time. It is a process. The clinic staff has been very attentive during my stay, and I am expecting to have the catheter removed very soon. To anyone else preparing for this surgery, it’s not easy but it is a good experience overall.

From start to finish, I was managed brilliantly
From start to finish, I was managed brilliantly. Liliia took care of all the logistics, and Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul was extremely attentive, doing a fantastic job with my Vaser liposuction on four or more areas. The one-on-one nursing was private, and the aftercare has been great — the team is easy to reach with any concerns, which the doctor addresses with no extra costs. My recovery is going about as expected. A tip: bring an extra compression garment for flying and drink coconut juice to help reduce swelling.
A truely excellent experience. From start to finish I was managed brilliantly. Liliia took care of all the administrative and logistics from choosing the Doctor, airport pickup and accommodation. Very effective administration. Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul was extremely attentive. He did a fantastic job. I had my reservations about a Clinic but I was very wrong. Instead it’s the opposite to a hospital. It’s one on one nurse attention for all your needs. And completely private. After care has been great. You need to be upfront with any concerns and the Doctor will address the on the spot and provide additional care with no extra costs. The Drs work was extremely professional, stitch’s minimal and The results are great. Thankyou to Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul, my wonderful nurses and administrative staff.

My surgeon handled that really well — he was upfront about how long healing would take and took time to explain and mark where the scars would sit before we even started
Recovery and scarring were my main concerns going in, and my surgeon handled that really well — he was upfront about how long healing would take and took time to explain and mark where the scars would sit before we even started. The whole body lift happened in one surgery, so it's still too soon to know how the final results will look. The clinic experience itself was a bit mixed — support after the surgery wasn't great, and I barely heard from anyone after I was discharged. On the bright side, there were no hidden or extra costs. My advice to anyone considering this: ask the practical questions upfront — whether the clinic provides meals or you'll need to order food yourself, and whether your surgery and recovery stay happen at the same facility or you'll be moved between a clinic and a hospital.
The doctors work was excellent
The clinic wasn't great for overnight stays and although some of the nursing staff were good at their tasks, it could take a long time for a need to be seen to though. I think the team there need to communicate better within themselves as to a client's needs that may need to be met by a specific team member, ie: if you inform reception that you require assistance that can only be given by a nursing attendant, you could wait for hours for that to be communicated and carried out.

The staff deserves a special mention for being so supportive
One of my biggest worries was the potential for hidden costs, but I was relieved to find there were no additional expenses on top of what the clinic quoted. The staff deserves a special mention for being so supportive. They've stayed in touch and have been very easy to reach, which is reassuring during recovery from my traditional liposuction on two areas. What stood out about my surgeon was how carefully he marked the areas before we went into the operating room. My recovery is going about as expected so far. The whole process was handled professionally.

Just trust them
What really stood out was sitting with my doctor before the procedure to draw the beard shape together. That personal approach made a huge difference. Honestly, so far I'm feeling better than expected. The procedure was done using the FUE technique. The clinic’s support afterward has been great; they provided a clear aftercare guide and have stayed in touch with me. It was also a relief that there were no additional expenses on top of what I had paid. My advice for a future patient? Just trust them. They know what they are doing!
Excellent staff. Really took care of me. Wjile the full effects of my procedure will take several months to show. I'm very pleased so far of the outcome. They are very accommodating and generous with their time

I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic
My biggest worry was how the results would actually look and feel afterward. Now that I'm in the early stages of recovery from the fat transfer graft, I can say the outcome is positive. The girth is already noticeably thicker. Everything is still slightly numb, as expected, but the visual change is definitely there. The surgeon and the entire staff were professional and clear with all information, which helped manage my concerns from the beginning. It's a relief. Based on the care I received and the initial results, I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic.

What truly stood out was my surgeon, who was honest about realistic results from the start and personally handled both the consultation and the surgery
I was thinking that going into a revision was getting unrealistic promises. What truly stood out was my surgeon, who was honest about realistic results from the start and personally handled both the consultation and the surgery. It gave me confidence. My alarplasty was done to correct an asymmetric nose, and while I'm still in the early stages of healing, it’s really too early to tell what the final outcome will be. The staff were supportive, providing a clear aftercare guide for my recovery at home. I also appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I had already paid the clinic.

the care provided by the surgeon and the staff was impeccable
My one-off operation went very well and the care provided by the surgeon and the staff was impeccable, apart from a few minor language issues. However, you should be prepared for a few additional costs that were not included in the original price: we had to pay for the transfers between the hotel and the clinic ourselves, and the wound care supplies were insufficient, which amounted to a mid-double-digit sum in total. My most important tip for future patients would be to make absolutely sure you clarify any dietary requirements (vegetarian/halal/...) with the clinic before you arrive.
The coordination team is very dedicated and always available. The staff are consistently very friendly and go out of their way to help. A very comprehensive package with extensive, thorough preliminary examinations and no hidden costs. A superbly equipped single room, including a sofa bed for an accompanying person.
Contrary to what was advertised, there was no interpreter. The nursing staff, in particular, did not always have a good enough command of English to explain everything clearly and in detail. The consultation with the surgeon was less detailed than expected. It wasn’t always entirely clear which services were included in the package and which weren’t (particularly transfers) – but there were no major hidden costs. Hospital food/light meals after operations are always a challenge, and perhaps even more so in a different cultural context – I wasn’t asked about any specific dietary preferences, so anyone who absolutely needs vegetarian, vegan, kosher or halal food should definitely clarify this in advance; in my opinion, the hospital bed was very hard, which is significantly more uncomfortable when you can’t move around much

The most reassuring part of the whole process was sitting with the surgeon before we started
The most reassuring part of the whole process was sitting with the surgeon before we started. He took the time to draw the hairline with me and clearly explained the entire FUE extraction and implantation process, which helped manage my expectations for the 2,000-3,000 graft procedure. Now in the early stages of healing, I'm feeling about as expected. The clinic has stayed in touch, which is good. Overall, it was a solid experience with the surgeon and staff, and I appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I was quoted.

Everything went very easily, the case when you are dealing with highly qualified specialists
Hello everyone, There was a problem with gynecomastia in the left breast. I saw an advertisement from the “bookimed” campaign on the Internet, after which I read the reviews (which aroused confidence) and contacted “Bookimed”, the company's managers were sympathetic to my situation and coordinated with Elena who works at B.care medical clinic (in Bangkok) . Elena clearly and clearly explained how we can eliminate this problem, after which I came for a consultation, having done an ultrasound scan, sent blood tests and after consulting with Elena and a Thai surgeon, gynecomastia in the left breast was confirmed, it was decided to operate. I arrived at the clinic on the morning of the operation, Elena and a team of Thai nurses prepared everything clearly and after 2-3 hours the doctor began the operation under local anesthesia, the operation lasted 1 hour + -, everything was professional, Elena's support was present even during the operation (tk I didn’t sleep), after the operation, I spent one more day at the hospital in the clinic (the room is very comfortable, the conditions and communication from the staff are at a high level - shower, food, cleaning, Elena and nurses visit to control my condition). Everything went very easily, the case when you are dealing with highly qualified specialists. Elena, thank you for organizing and coordinating the preparatory, operational and postoperative working moments and for maintaining morale during the operation!

FAQ about Vaginoplasty in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the clinical requirements for undergoing vaginoplasty in Thailand?

Clinical requirements for vaginoplasty in Thailand follow Medical Council of Thailand regulations and standards set by WPATH. Patients must be at least 18 years old and provide two psychiatric referral letters. They must also document 12 months of hormone therapy and real-life gender experience.

  • Age limits: Legal consent starts at 20. Those aged 18–19 require parental accompaniment and consent.
  • Psychological clearance: One referral must be from home and a second from a Thai psychiatrist.
  • Medical screening: Hospitals perform chest X-rays, ECGs, and HIV screenings to clear patients for anaesthesia.
  • Physical health: Surgeons often require a BMI under 30 to reduce surgical and recovery risks.
  • Preparation: Patients must stop smoking and blood-thinning medications 2–4 weeks before their scheduled surgery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai hospitals like Yanhee and Wansiri serve thousands of international patients. However, paperwork requirements vary significantly between them. While many clinics follow WPATH, some top surgeons set personal BMI caps as low as 23.5. This applies to complex colon-based techniques to help tissue healing.

Patient Consensus: Patients should confirm all required documentation and hormone history formats in writing before travelling. Local surgeons strictly require patients to stay nearby for several weeks to monitor initial healing.

How can I verify the safety and regulation of vaginoplasty clinics in Thailand?

Check safety in Thailand by confirming Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. Also verify surgeon registration with the Medical Council of Thailand (TMC). Quality clinics provide board-certified specialists. Their operating theatres meet clean room standards to minimise infection risks.

  • Hospital accreditation: Select facilities with JCI or ISO certifications used by Yanhee International Hospital.
  • Surgeon registration: Verify specialists like Dr Worapon Ratanalert through the Medical Council of Thailand database.
  • International memberships: Qualified surgeons often belong to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).
  • Clinical environment: Top hubs like Wansiri Hospital use specialised air filtration in sterile operating theatres.
  • Anaesthesia standards: A board-certified anaesthetist should manage sedation, as practised at Asia Cosmetic Hospital.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand leads in gender-affirming care with hospitals serving over 1,000,000 patients annually. While smaller clinics offer lower prices, choose large-scale hospitals like Bumrungrad or Yanhee. These centres maintain 24/7 emergency infrastructure and on-site specialists that boutique clinics often lack.

Is permanent genital hair removal required for vaginoplasty in Thailand?

Permanent genital hair removal for vaginoplasty in Thailand depends on the surgeon and surgical technique. Many international standards require electrolysis 6 to 12 months before surgery. However, leading Thai specialists often perform intraoperative follicle scraping or cauterisation during the procedure. This removes hair roots manually.

  • Technique impact: Penile inversion usually requires pre-operative clearance unless surgeons use intraoperative scraping.
  • Follicle scraping: Specialists like Dr Chettawut manually destroy roots during surgery to prevent internal growth.
  • Internal grafts: Peritoneal pull-through or sigmoid colon techniques reduce needs for deep canal hair removal.
  • Pre-op timelines: Perineum clearance is often recommended at least 4 months before hospital admission.
  • Risk management: Skipping removal requires experienced surgeons to avoid internal hairballs or chronic infections.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data from 154 Thai clinics show a clear trend toward intraoperative management. These clinics include JCI-accredited Yanhee and Asia Cosmetic Hospital. Surgeons like Dr Worapon Ratanalert specialise in complex MTF cases. Manual follicle destruction is a standard safeguard in these cases. Vaginoplasty in Thailand averages $1,300. This saves Australians up to 82% compared to local costs.

Patient Consensus: Start hair removal earlier than expected. Multiple sessions are often needed to meet surgery dates. Patients should verify the specific surgeon's required zones in writing before booking travel.

What is the recommended recovery stay period in Thailand for vaginoplasty patients?

Patients should plan for a 21 to 30 day stay in Thailand for gender-affirming vaginoplasty. This timeframe includes 5 to 7 days of hospitalisation for monitoring and initial healing. It is followed by 2 weeks of local recovery to manage dilation protocols and follow-up appointments.

  • Hospital stay: Patients spend 5–7 nights in-patient for surgical monitoring and catheter care.
  • Clinical follow-ups: Surgeons perform wound checks and dilation training during days 7–14.
  • Technique variations: Peritoneal pull-through (PPT) requires 21+ days, while sigmoid colon techniques need 30.
  • Travel criteria: Surgeons must issue a formal fit-to-fly certificate before international boarding.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Labiaplasty requires shorter stays, but vaginoplasty in Bangkok carries a strict 3-week minimum. This is because of dilation requirements. Facilities like Yanhee International Hospital or Bumrungrad International Hospital manage high volumes, serving up to 1,000,000 patients annually. Their "fit-to-fly" protocols are non-negotiable for patient safety.

Patient Consensus: Most suggest staying 3 weeks rather than 2 to allow a safety buffer. Patients should arrange clinical checks and packing changes before booking return flights home.

What surgical techniques are available for vaginoplasty in Thailand?

Thailand offers gender-affirming techniques including penile inversion, scrotal skin grafting, sigmoid colon, and peritoneal pull-through vaginoplasty. Leading Bangkok centres like Yanhee International Hospital and Wansiri Hospital provide these options. Specialist surgeons like Dr Worapon Ratanalert perform these reconstructions using robotic and laparoscopic approaches.

  • Penile inversion: Standard method using existing penile skin to create the vaginal canal.
  • Scrotal skin graft: Combines penile and scrotal tissue to achieve greater vaginal depth.
  • Sigmoid colon: Uses an intestinal segment for natural lubrication and consistent depth.
  • Peritoneal pull-through: Uses abdominal lining for an elastic, self-lubricating, and odour-free result.
  • Zero-depth vulvoplasty: Constructing external genitalia only, eliminating the need for lifelong dilation.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Wansiri Hospital report a 99% success rate for complex gender-affirming procedures. This success stems from surgeons like Dr Saran Wannachamras having US-based training. These surgeons lead dedicated sex change departments. This depth of specialisation is rare, as doctors often manage thousands of international cases annually.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand often discuss using peritoneal flaps when deeper lining is needed. They suggest confirming pre-op hair removal plans. They also recommend reviewing surgeon portfolios to check for sensation preservation.

What does the post-operative dilation and recovery timeline look like for vaginoplasty in Thailand?

Vaginoplasty recovery in Thailand requires a 21 to 30-day stay. This allows patients to manage the intensive early dilation phase. Patients begin dilation around day 6 under clinical supervision. This occurs at JCI-accredited centres like Yanhee International Hospital or Wansiri Hospital. After this, they transition to a lifelong maintenance routine.

  • Clinical supervision: Packing is removed on day 6. Staff then provide hands-on dilation training.
  • Intensive phase: Sessions occur 2–3 times daily for 30–45 minutes during the first 3 months.
  • Tapering schedule: Frequency reduces to 1–2 times daily until the 12-month mark.
  • Long-term maintenance: Stable tissue requires dilation 1–3 times weekly for life.
  • Physical activity: Most return to desk jobs by week 6 and strenuous exercise by month 3.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Centres like Yanhee and Wansiri provide English-speaking teams specifically for post-op training. This hands-on education is vital. Missing sessions around the 3-month mark can lead to permanent loss of depth.

Patient Consensus: Dilation starts early in Thailand. The first 4 weeks are demanding due to soreness and fatigue. Following the surgeon's exact written schedule is essential for preserving surgical results.

What is typically included in a Thai medical travel package for vaginoplasty?

Vaginoplasty packages in Thailand typically cover the surgery, anaesthetist fees, and a 5 to 9-night hospital stay. Patients often receive a medical-grade dilation kit and dedicated nursing support. Most bundles also include local transfers between the hospital and hotel. These packages support the 21 to 30-day recovery period required before flying.

  • Surgical fees: Covers the primary surgeon, surgical assistants, and the full anaesthesia team.
  • Clinical stay: Includes 5–9 nights in a private room with 24-hour nursing care.
  • Aftercare kit: Provides medical-grade dilators and hands-on training for the dilation protocol.
  • Ground logistics: Includes private airport transfers and shuttles for daily post-operative checkups.
  • Clinical support: Offers free interpreter services and English-speaking staff at centres like Yanhee Hospital.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok centres like Yanhee International Hospital and Asia Cosmetic Hospital handle high volumes. Some serve more than 450,000 patients annually. This high frequency allows hospitals to include safety features, like Clean Room standard theatres, into standard package rates.
