How Much Does Hymenoplasty (hymen restoration) Cost in Thailand in AUD?

Hymenoplasty in Thailand typically costs from AUD $2,371 / ฿A80,624 to AUD $4,185 / ฿A142,277. Prices vary based on the surgical technique used, the specific clinic tier, and whether the procedure is performed under local or general anaesthetic. Patients from Australia save around 53% compared to local prices, where the average cost is AUD $6,835 / ฿A232,386. Inclusions often cover laboratory tests, surgeon fees, and post-operative medications.

  • Laser-assisted technique: typically adds a premium over traditional suturing for increased precision.
  • General anaesthetic: usually increases the total cost compared to procedures performed under local sedation.
  • Combined procedures: adding vaginoplasty or perineoplasty to the surgery significantly increases the final price.
  • Hospital location: facilities in central Bangkok often have different pricing structures compared to regional centres.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a specialised facility like Doctor Aomthong Clinic – Center For Women ensures treatment in a dedicated gynaecological environment. While some Bangkok clinics offer basic surgical options, JCI-accredited facilities like Asia Cosmetic Hospital maintain a 0% complication rate by use of specialist anaesthesiologists for every procedure. For Australians, these high safety standards in Thailand provide significant value without the long private waitlists found back home.

Data verified by Bookimed as of August 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 80 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

The assistants and the doctors were great, clear explanations, details
The assistants and the doctors were great, clear explanations, details. The care from the assistant before operation and after, the next day it was great. However, the grab taxis for consultations were not very comfortable—not spacious, not comfortable, old tapestry, smell inside, which made us feel annoyed before surgery when already nervous and irritated. When we came back for post-operative checking we already made an appointment but in the end we had to wait 2 hours more from the appointed hour.

I’m feeling better than expected this early on
My main worries before the procedure were the recovery process and the final look of the scars. My surgeon was very direct about both, clearly explaining the realistic results, the swelling timeline, and exactly where the incisions for my full neck lift would be placed behind the ears. This honesty was appreciated. The procedure was done under general anesthesia, and I’m feeling better than expected this early on. The clinic’s support has been solid; they gave me a clear aftercare guide and have been easy to reach with questions. It was also a relief that there were no additional expenses on top of the quoted price.

The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations
Waking up, I felt groggy but managed. The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations. The incision was placed under the breast, which is what I wanted. I am still in the early recovery phase, and it has its challenges. My pain has lessened to a mild discomfort, but sleeping through the night is difficult, and my nipples are uncomfortably hypersensitive. Overall, the medical care was solid, though the recovery process itself is demanding. It’s a serious undertaking.

Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care
Monsplaty, Tummy Tuck and 360 Liposuction. My biggest concern going into this was what the recovery would actually feel like. It's not easy. The most challenging part has definitely been the constant tight feeling, which is something to be prepared for. My surgeon used a combination of liposuction and excision. Right now there is still some swelling, so it’s too early to know how my clothes will fit differently in the end. Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care. It was a professional and supportive environment, and I'm glad I made the choice to go there.
Very clean, very inviting. After care was good too. Everything was quick and easy. Communication via whatsapp made things easier as well. I travelled solo and the staff helped that little extra.
After surgery garments are not forgiving for us longer torso people. They were a bit short which added a lil discomfort when it rolled at the back. Other than that everything was really good.

Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected
Seeing the surgical site for the first time was the moment everything finally felt real. Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected. We used the penile inversion technique, and while the results look promising, the recovery requires a lot of patience and steady commitment to the healing process. My biggest challenge at this stage is definitely the physical discomfort of being seated for a long time. It is a process. The clinic staff has been very attentive during my stay, and I am expecting to have the catheter removed very soon. To anyone else preparing for this surgery, it’s not easy but it is a good experience overall.

From start to finish, I was managed brilliantly
From start to finish, I was managed brilliantly. Liliia took care of all the logistics, and Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul was extremely attentive, doing a fantastic job with my Vaser liposuction on four or more areas. The one-on-one nursing was private, and the aftercare has been great — the team is easy to reach with any concerns, which the doctor addresses with no extra costs. My recovery is going about as expected. A tip: bring an extra compression garment for flying and drink coconut juice to help reduce swelling.
A truely excellent experience. From start to finish I was managed brilliantly. Liliia took care of all the administrative and logistics from choosing the Doctor, airport pickup and accommodation. Very effective administration. Dr. Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul was extremely attentive. He did a fantastic job. I had my reservations about a Clinic but I was very wrong. Instead it’s the opposite to a hospital. It’s one on one nurse attention for all your needs. And completely private. After care has been great. You need to be upfront with any concerns and the Doctor will address the on the spot and provide additional care with no extra costs. The Drs work was extremely professional, stitch’s minimal and The results are great. Thankyou to Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul, my wonderful nurses and administrative staff.

My surgeon handled that really well — he was upfront about how long healing would take and took time to explain and mark where the scars would sit before we even started
Recovery and scarring were my main concerns going in, and my surgeon handled that really well — he was upfront about how long healing would take and took time to explain and mark where the scars would sit before we even started. The whole body lift happened in one surgery, so it's still too soon to know how the final results will look. The clinic experience itself was a bit mixed — support after the surgery wasn't great, and I barely heard from anyone after I was discharged. On the bright side, there were no hidden or extra costs. My advice to anyone considering this: ask the practical questions upfront — whether the clinic provides meals or you'll need to order food yourself, and whether your surgery and recovery stay happen at the same facility or you'll be moved between a clinic and a hospital.
The doctors work was excellent
The clinic wasn't great for overnight stays and although some of the nursing staff were good at their tasks, it could take a long time for a need to be seen to though. I think the team there need to communicate better within themselves as to a client's needs that may need to be met by a specific team member, ie: if you inform reception that you require assistance that can only be given by a nursing attendant, you could wait for hours for that to be communicated and carried out.

The staff deserves a special mention for being so supportive
One of my biggest worries was the potential for hidden costs, but I was relieved to find there were no additional expenses on top of what the clinic quoted. The staff deserves a special mention for being so supportive. They've stayed in touch and have been very easy to reach, which is reassuring during recovery from my traditional liposuction on two areas. What stood out about my surgeon was how carefully he marked the areas before we went into the operating room. My recovery is going about as expected so far. The whole process was handled professionally.

Just trust them
What really stood out was sitting with my doctor before the procedure to draw the beard shape together. That personal approach made a huge difference. Honestly, so far I'm feeling better than expected. The procedure was done using the FUE technique. The clinic’s support afterward has been great; they provided a clear aftercare guide and have stayed in touch with me. It was also a relief that there were no additional expenses on top of what I had paid. My advice for a future patient? Just trust them. They know what they are doing!
Excellent staff. Really took care of me. Wjile the full effects of my procedure will take several months to show. I'm very pleased so far of the outcome. They are very accommodating and generous with their time
Some language issues but some of the staff speak English well enough that it really isn't a problem

I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic
My biggest worry was how the results would actually look and feel afterward. Now that I'm in the early stages of recovery from the fat transfer graft, I can say the outcome is positive. The girth is already noticeably thicker. Everything is still slightly numb, as expected, but the visual change is definitely there. The surgeon and the entire staff were professional and clear with all information, which helped manage my concerns from the beginning. It's a relief. Based on the care I received and the initial results, I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic.

What truly stood out was my surgeon, who was honest about realistic results from the start and personally handled both the consultation and the surgery
I was thinking that going into a revision was getting unrealistic promises. What truly stood out was my surgeon, who was honest about realistic results from the start and personally handled both the consultation and the surgery. It gave me confidence. My alarplasty was done to correct an asymmetric nose, and while I'm still in the early stages of healing, it’s really too early to tell what the final outcome will be. The staff were supportive, providing a clear aftercare guide for my recovery at home. I also appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I had already paid the clinic.
Caring nurses & Dr. was nice

the care provided by the surgeon and the staff was impeccable
My one-off operation went very well and the care provided by the surgeon and the staff was impeccable, apart from a few minor language issues. However, you should be prepared for a few additional costs that were not included in the original price: we had to pay for the transfers between the hotel and the clinic ourselves, and the wound care supplies were insufficient, which amounted to a mid-double-digit sum in total. My most important tip for future patients would be to make absolutely sure you clarify any dietary requirements (vegetarian/halal/...) with the clinic before you arrive.
The coordination team is very dedicated and always available. The staff are consistently very friendly and go out of their way to help. A very comprehensive package with extensive, thorough preliminary examinations and no hidden costs. A superbly equipped single room, including a sofa bed for an accompanying person.
Contrary to what was advertised, there was no interpreter. The nursing staff, in particular, did not always have a good enough command of English to explain everything clearly and in detail. The consultation with the surgeon was less detailed than expected. It wasn’t always entirely clear which services were included in the package and which weren’t (particularly transfers) – but there were no major hidden costs. Hospital food/light meals after operations are always a challenge, and perhaps even more so in a different cultural context – I wasn’t asked about any specific dietary preferences, so anyone who absolutely needs vegetarian, vegan, kosher or halal food should definitely clarify this in advance; in my opinion, the hospital bed was very hard, which is significantly more uncomfortable when you can’t move around much

The most reassuring part of the whole process was sitting with the surgeon before we started
The most reassuring part of the whole process was sitting with the surgeon before we started. He took the time to draw the hairline with me and clearly explained the entire FUE extraction and implantation process, which helped manage my expectations for the 2,000-3,000 graft procedure. Now in the early stages of healing, I'm feeling about as expected. The clinic has stayed in touch, which is good. Overall, it was a solid experience with the surgeon and staff, and I appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I was quoted.

Everything went very easily, the case when you are dealing with highly qualified specialists
Hello everyone, There was a problem with gynecomastia in the left breast. I saw an advertisement from the “bookimed” campaign on the Internet, after which I read the reviews (which aroused confidence) and contacted “Bookimed”, the company's managers were sympathetic to my situation and coordinated with Elena who works at B.care medical clinic (in Bangkok) . Elena clearly and clearly explained how we can eliminate this problem, after which I came for a consultation, having done an ultrasound scan, sent blood tests and after consulting with Elena and a Thai surgeon, gynecomastia in the left breast was confirmed, it was decided to operate. I arrived at the clinic on the morning of the operation, Elena and a team of Thai nurses prepared everything clearly and after 2-3 hours the doctor began the operation under local anesthesia, the operation lasted 1 hour + -, everything was professional, Elena's support was present even during the operation (tk I didn’t sleep), after the operation, I spent one more day at the hospital in the clinic (the room is very comfortable, the conditions and communication from the staff are at a high level - shower, food, cleaning, Elena and nurses visit to control my condition). Everything went very easily, the case when you are dealing with highly qualified specialists. Elena, thank you for organizing and coordinating the preparatory, operational and postoperative working moments and for maintaining morale during the operation!

FAQ about Hymenoplasty (hymen restoration) in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is hymenoplasty in Thailand safe?

Hymenoplasty in Thailand is safe when performed by board-certified specialists in internationally accredited clinics. Major Bangkok facilities like Asia Cosmetic Hospital hold JCI and ISO certifications. These standards involve rigorous hygiene and operating theatre protocols. These are comparable to Australian private hospitals.

  • Specialist credentials: Leading surgeons hold certifications from the Royal College of Surgeons Thailand.
  • Facility safety: Hospitals like PPSI use HEPA filters and laminar airflow to prevent infections.
  • Technology standards: Specialist clinics use US FDA-approved technologies for intimate aesthetic gynaecology procedures.
  • Surgical experience: Experienced specialists such as Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul have performed 20,000+ procedures.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics often report near-zero complication rates. This is because they specialise in high-volume intimate surgery. For example, Doctor Aomthong Clinic is led by Thailand's first American Board-certified aesthetic gynaecologist. This specific expertise in delicate tissue repair is rare in generalist Australian plastic surgery practices.

Patient Consensus: Safety in Thailand depends on choosing verifiable specialists with clear credentials. Patients suggest securing a written aftercare plan to manage recovery once returning to Australia.

What is involved in a hymenoplasty procedure in Thailand?

Hymenoplasty in Thailand involves surgically reconstructing the hymenal ring. Surgeons use local anaesthesia or sedation. Specialists at JCI-accredited Bangkok clinics, such as Asia Cosmetic Hospital, use vaginal lining flaps or dissolvable sutures. This outpatient procedure typically lasts 1–2 hours with minimal downtime.

  • Surgical technique: Surgeons use delicate dissolvable stitches to rejoin torn hymenal tissue edges.
  • Anaesthesia options: Most clinics provide local anaesthesia, though sedation is available for comfort.
  • Specialist expertise: Doctor Aomthong Clinic features Thailand's first American Board Certified aesthetic gynaecologist.
  • Recovery timeline: Patients typically resume light activities within days but avoid intercourse for 4–6 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand is a primary hub for this procedure. Specialised centres like Doctor Aomthong Clinic use FDA-approved laser technologies. While costs range from $1,700 to $3,000, clinics provide high value with cardiologist-led surgical supervision.

Patient Consensus: Patients value the high level of discretion and privacy provided by clinics in Thailand. Many report the procedure feels minor. They appreciate receiving clear written instructions for post-operative care and activity restrictions.

Will a hymenoplasty in Thailand guarantee bleeding during intercourse?

Hymenoplasty in Thailand cannot guarantee bleeding during subsequent intercourse. Success depends on tissue elasticity, healing, and surgical precision. Bleeding typically occurs in 50% to 70% of cases. Surgeons in Bangkok use dissolvable sutures to reconstruct the membrane. However, visible blood is never an absolute certainty.

  • Success rates: Bleeding occurs in roughly 50% to 70% of cases after surgery.
  • Tissue elasticity: Reconstructed membranes may stretch rather than tear during penetration.
  • Healing period: Avoiding intercourse for 6–8 weeks allows the tissue to heal properly.
  • Surgical expertise: Specialists like Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic Bangkok have 20,000+ procedures.
  • Accreditation standards: Facilities including Asia Cosmetic Hospital hold JCI accreditation for safety.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Hymenoplasty costs in Thailand range from $1,700 to $3,000. Patients often overlook that anatomical variability matters more than price. Doctors at high-volume centres like Doctor Aomthong Clinic perform 4,800+ annual procedures. They have seen enough diverse tissue types to manage expectations realistically regarding bleeding outcomes.

Patient Consensus: Many find the procedure offers a symbolic sense of restoration in Thailand. Bleeding is unpredictable and depends on penetration depth and force. It should not be treated as medical proof of virginity.

How long is the recovery period for a hymenoplasty in Thailand?

In Thailand, patients typically resume light daily activities within 2–3 days. Initial tissue healing solidifies by the 2-week mark. Full surgical recovery takes 4–6 weeks. Specialists at Bangkok clinics like Doctor Aomthong Clinic and Asia Cosmetic Hospital use dissolvable sutures.

  • Hospital stay: Most surgeons perform this as a day procedure with no overnight stay.
  • Thai stay: Stay in Thailand for 6–7 days for a medical review.
  • Activity limits: Avoid swimming, heavy lifting, and strenuous exercise for at least 4 weeks.
  • Sexual activity: Refrain from intercourse and tampon use for 4–8 weeks to aid healing.
  • Friction reduction: Expect discomfort when walking or sitting during the first 2–7 days.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics like Phuket Plastic Surgery Institute (PPSI) use specialised laminar airflow theatres. These systems reduce infection risks for international patients. This is critical for Australians flying home 1 week after delicate reconstructive surgery.

Patient Consensus: Expect significant soreness and swelling during the first week in Thailand. Patients recommend extra recovery days before long-haul flights to manage discomfort and spotting.

Who is a suitable candidate for hymenoplasty in Thailand?

Suitable candidates for hymenoplasty in Thailand are healthy adults seeking to repair the hymen. Reasons often include cultural, religious, or personal needs. Key candidates include those with tissue damage from physical activity or trauma. Clinics in Bangkok provide this discreet procedure within JCI-accredited facilities.

  • Physical suitability: Candidates must be in good health and free from active genital infections.
  • Cultural requirements: Women needing restoration for marriage or religious expectations are typical candidates.
  • Restorative reasons: Individuals repairing tears from cycling, gymnastics, or accidental trauma are suitable.
  • Board-certified care: Specialists like Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul have performed over 20,000 procedures.
  • Accredited facilities: Hospital options like Asia Cosmetic Hospital hold JCI and ISO certifications.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s leading aesthetic gynaecologists often have high patient volumes. Doctor Aomthong Clinic serves 4,800+ patients annually. This massive case experience means surgeons are versatile in handling different tissue types. Patients from Australia should look for clinics offering structured follow-up support for recovery at home.

Patient Consensus: Women choosing Thailand value the high level of privacy and discretion. They also highlight the importance of following all post-operative instructions carefully for the best healing.

Are the results of a hymenoplasty permanent?

Hymenoplasty results are not permanent. The reconstructed membrane is designed to tear or stretch during intercourse or strenuous activity. Surgeons in Thailand use dissolvable stitches to repair the tissue. This creates a temporary restoration that stays intact until disrupted by physical pressure.

  • Tissue restoration: Dissolvable stitches reconstruct the hymenal ring using existing vaginal tissue.
  • Surgical goal: The procedure aims to facilitate bleeding during subsequent sexual intercourse.
  • Physical restrictions: Strenuous exercise, cycling, or horse riding can prematurely tear the repair.
  • Healing timeframe: Patients must avoid squats and intense workouts for several weeks post-surgery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand is a major hub for aesthetic gynaecology. Clinics like Doctor Aomthong Center for Women are led by American Board-certified specialists. Data shows that hymenoplasty costs from $1,700 to $3,000. Many international patients also request vaginoplasty to improve structural longevity and functional results.

Patient Consensus: Many treat this as a time-limited repair intended for a specific event. Patients in Thailand recommend confirming follow-up care and healing instructions early to keep the repair intact.
