It was a terrible experience which I never want to go through again. Upon arrival at the hospital, the consultant , Jeab who led me there was not present to receive me. Instead I was attended by the medical sstaff who flatly shot down the agreed quotations offered by Jeab and even said they do not need the VDO anymore so they could not offer me what Jeab did and I was told I had to pay 3 times the proce of what I was offered before. Consequent to the price dispute, there were lots of bleak moments between the consultant and the medical staff internally then I was made to wait for over two hours then they suddenly reversed to ask for VDO compromised on an agreed price. I repeated said no to revealing my face for the VDO and the secretary Kimmy assured me my face will not be shown on camera. Prior to seeing the doctor, I was told to made payment first. For every doctor consultation, I had to go to the cashier to complete the payment and I was seeing two different doctors meant I had to repeat same process twice touring the entire medical centre so many times. What was most stupid was that I was never informed that I had to pay out of pocket for the Covid-9 test which I deem really unfair when there was konsixh prior information and they just dumped all the hidden cost on me. I only did the arm Vader+body tite along with pick laser for vaginal and I was made to go from building to building spending 7 hours there the entire day is really uncalled for!!!

The team followed through on every detail discussed
Sitting in the consultation room while the surgeon explained the precise use of 50-100 million umbilical cord stem cells gave me a clear sense of the technical path ahead. Fifteen days after the treatment, I am already noticing some improvement in my overall physical state. The application was smooth, and I experienced no injection site reactions or inflammatory flare-ups afterward. Recovery is just beginning. Every interaction with the clinic staff was handled with professional efficiency, ensuring that the logistical side of the medical travel was as controlled as the procedure itself. It is important to stay patient during this early window while the body starts to respond to the cells. The team followed through on every detail discussed.
Josh and team had fantastic thorough communication
Not sure... give me extra stem cells. Maybe have more food?

FAQ about Stem cell therapy for neuropathy in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Can stem cell therapy in Thailand effectively reverse nerve damage caused by neuropathy?

Stem cell therapy in Thailand aims to repair nerve tissue and reduce inflammation. However, a total reversal of severe nerve damage is not guaranteed. Specialists use mesenchymal stem cells from umbilical cord or bone marrow. These cells help stimulate regeneration and improve blood flow. Treatment typically costs between $10,000 and $17,000.

  • Technique variety: Clinics offer autologous bone marrow cells or allogeneic umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells.
  • Certified processing: Facilities like The Demarest Clinic use AABB-certified protocols for culturing and activating cells.
  • Specialist expertise: Dr Chollawat Thongthaisin at Vega Clinic holds American Board of Regenerative Medicine certification.
  • Integrated care: Packages at Panacee Hospital Rama 2 combine stem cells with blood tests and transfers.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many centres offer general stem cell treatments. However, the best outcomes for neuropathy correlate with AABB-certified laboratory processes. These standards help confirm cell viability and activation protocols are strictly controlled. This is vital for patients seeking more than just temporary pain relief.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand often report reduced burning sensations and improved mobility. Full nerve regeneration is less common. Success is most likely when combining therapy with objective testing. Nerve conduction studies are often used to track progress.

What type of stem cells are used for nerve repair during stem cell therapy in Thailand?

Nerve repair in Thailand primarily uses Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs). These are typically sourced from umbilical cord tissue (UC-MSCs) or the patient’s own bone marrow. These young cells are grown in GMP-certified laboratories. They help reduce inflammation and support the myelin sheath surrounding damaged nerves.

  • Umbilical cord-derived cells: First-passage UC-MSCs are preferred for their high regenerative potential.
  • Autologous bone marrow: Surgeons transplant the patient’s own cells to promote neuroregeneration and healing.
  • Amniotic-derived cells: Some Phuket facilities combine amniotic fluid with donor cells for neurological deficits.
  • Regenerative mechanism: Cells release growth factors rather than replacing neurons to protect existing nerve tissue.

Bookimed Expert Insight: The Demarest Clinic in Phuket was the first sanctioned by the Health Ministry for allogeneic therapy. They use AABB-certified processes for culturing and activating first-passage cells. This helps achieve higher cell viability for complex neurological cases.

Patient Consensus: Focus on whether the clinic provides live cells or just cell extracts. Many people describe reduced pain and inflammation in Thailand. They suggest verifying the cell source bank and lab certifications before booking.

What is the typical procedure and patient journey for stem cell treatment in Thailand?

The patient journey for stem cell therapy in Thailand starts with a remote clinical review. Specialists at centres like Panacee Hospital Rama 2 first evaluate medical history. Patients then arrive for intravenous infusion or bone marrow-derived cell treatments. The journey typically includes 3–5 days of clinical monitoring and rehabilitation.

  • Clinical consultation: Specialists perform in-person assessments and blood tests to confirm patient suitability.
  • Cell administration: Qualified doctors deliver cells via intravenous infusion or specialised bone marrow techniques.
  • Lab standards: Leading facilities like The Demarest Clinic use AABB-certified cell processing and GMP-certified rejuvenation.
  • Clinical monitoring: Most protocols require a 3–5 day stay for observation and physiotherapy support.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics often bundle intensive multi-day regimens into their packages. For example, Panacee Hospital Rama 2 includes specialised bone marrow therapy with 5 days of hotel-based recovery. This approach prioritises clinical observation over the single-day "jab-and-go" methods seen in other regions.

Patient Consensus: Patients describe a multi-step journey through Bangkok or Phuket hubs involving several days of therapy. Many highlight that bundling physiotherapy with infusions was essential for their daily progress in Thailand.

Where are the most reputable centres for stem cell therapy for neuropathy located in Thailand?

Thailand houses reputable centres for neuropathy stem cell therapy primarily in Bangkok and Phuket. These facilities use mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) within GMP-certified laboratories. Dr Chollawat Thongthaisin at Vega Clinic offers treatments backed by the American Board of Regenerative Medicine.

  • Bangkok hub: Vega Clinic and StemCells21 provide MSC protocols for nerve regeneration.
  • Phuket facilities: The Demarest Clinic holds Health Ministry sanctioning for allogeneic cellular therapies.
  • Laboratory standards: Top centres use AABB-certified laboratories for cell culturing and activation.
  • Specialist credentials: Leading doctors often hold international certifications in regenerative medicine and nutrition.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok is the primary hub. However, the Demarest Clinic in Phuket stands out for using first-passage umbilical cord MSCs. This processing method yields higher cell potency. This is a critical factor for treating complex neuropathic conditions effectively.

Patient Consensus: Patients often report reduced neuropathic pain and improved flexibility after treatment in Thailand. Many suggest verifying laboratory passage numbers. They also recommend clinician-led assessments rather than marketing-driven ones for the best results.
