What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it
What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it. My biggest fear was not understanding the treatment plan or feeling rushed, but that wasn’t the case at all. The dentist was very patient and took the time to explain each step to me in detail. It was reassuring. The overall organisation ran smoothly and the whole clinic team were professional and happy to answer my questions. Coordination via Bookimed simplified the whole process, which helped reduce the stress of having a medical appointment abroad. I left with clear information and a good overall impression.

I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism
Hello everyone, like many other people before an operation, I wasn't feeling very well. The staff at the clinic immediately reassured and accompanied me. Believe me or not, I didn't feel a thing. The dental surgeon fitted the 2 implants in 40 minutes, and I had no infections whatsoever. My Bookimed advisor (Péguy) was with me from the start and is still with me today. I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism. Sylvain B.

The wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care
It is a clean hospital and the wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care. The dentist and dental personnel can speak fluent English which is important for most people like I. For wisdom teeth extraction the cost was 20000 baht for 4 teeth( including medication and nurse charge), but it all depends if the teeth has impacted. I would highly recommend the clinic.

FAQ about Lumineer in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Who is a suitable candidate for receiving Lumineers in Thailand?

Suitable candidates for Lumineers in Thailand include people with healthy teeth who want to fix minor cosmetic issues. This includes chips, small gaps, or mild discolouration. This non-invasive option is ideal for those wanting a reversible procedure without tooth shaving.

  • Cosmetic flaws: Best for minor chips, slightly crooked teeth, or small gaps.
  • Foundational health: Requires an absence of active gum disease, periodontal inflammation, or tooth decay.
  • Enamel quality: Candidates must have enough natural enamel to bond the thin porcelain shells.
  • Bite habit: Unsuitable for people who grind their teeth, as clenching can crack the thin porcelain.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Bangkok International Dental Center use Digital Smile Design. This allows patients to preview their new smile digitally before work begins. Lumineers cost from $600 in Thailand compared to $1,600 in Australia. These digital previews help make sure the investment meets aesthetic goals.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand found Lumineers perfect for subtle shape changes and light stains. They recommend a full exam first to check for grinding or structural issues. Most appreciated that the process was painless and usually only required two dental visits.

What is the primary difference between traditional veneers and Lumineers for dental patients in Thailand?

The primary difference is the level of tooth preparation needed. Lumineers are ultra-thin shells that often require no enamel removal. This makes the process reversible. Traditional veneers require shaving 0.5 mm to 0.7 mm of enamel. This creates a permanent, irreversible change to the natural tooth structure.

  • Preparation depth: Traditional veneers require 0.5–0.7 mm enamel reduction versus 0.2 mm for Lumineers.
  • Reversibility factor: Intact enamel allows Lumineers removal without damaging the underlying teeth.
  • Aesthetic strength: Traditional veneers better mask severe tetracycline staining due to their increased thickness.
  • Procedure speed: Lumineers remove the need for temporary restorations or local anaesthetic injections.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Lumineers are marketed as no-prep. However, specialists like Dr Vichulada Phunthikaphadr at Bangkok International Dental Center often perform minor contouring. This prevents the 0.2 mm shells from appearing bulky. Patients choosing Thailand for this procedure save up to 56% compared to Australian averages of $1,600 per tooth.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand report that Lumineers offer a faster, needle-free experience for minor gaps. For deeper stains, they prefer traditional veneers for a natural, translucent finish.
