Immediate dentures installation in Thailand typically costs from AUD $2,167 / ฿A73,678 to AUD $4,334 / ฿A147,356. Prices depend on material choice, clinical setting, and the number of arches required. In Australia, the average cost for this procedure is AUD $7,223 / ฿A245,593, meaning patients save approximately 54% by travelling. Standard packages usually include specialist consultations, digital X-rays, custom fabrication, and initial fitting adjustments.

  • Material quality: Premium acrylic or porcelain options typically add a 20–30% premium over standard materials.
  • Clinical setting: Hospital-based care in Bangkok often costs more than smaller regional clinics in northern Thailand.
  • Geographic location: Major medical hubs include Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai, with varying baseline prices.
  • Surgical coordination: Immediate versions carry a 20–30% premium over basic dentures due to accelerated fabrication.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing JCI-accredited facilities like Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC) or Phuket Dental Signature ensures international safety standards. Many top-tier clinics in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, such as Kitcha Dental Clinic, are official Straumann partners. This indicates they use high-quality Swiss materials. Australian patients frequently visit these clinics, where English-speaking dentists often have training from American or European institutions.

I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism
Hello everyone, like many other people before an operation, I wasn't feeling very well. The staff at the clinic immediately reassured and accompanied me. Believe me or not, I didn't feel a thing. The dental surgeon fitted the 2 implants in 40 minutes, and I had no infections whatsoever. My Bookimed advisor (Péguy) was with me from the start and is still with me today. I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism. Sylvain B.

What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it
What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it. My biggest fear was not understanding the treatment plan or feeling rushed, but that wasn’t the case at all. The dentist was very patient and took the time to explain each step to me in detail. It was reassuring. The overall organisation ran smoothly and the whole clinic team were professional and happy to answer my questions. Coordination via Bookimed simplified the whole process, which helped reduce the stress of having a medical appointment abroad. I left with clear information and a good overall impression.

The wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care
It is a clean hospital and the wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care. The dentist and dental personnel can speak fluent English which is important for most people like I. For wisdom teeth extraction the cost was 20000 baht for 4 teeth( including medication and nurse charge), but it all depends if the teeth has impacted. I would highly recommend the clinic.

FAQ about Immediate dentures installation in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the common side effects and comfort levels after receiving immediate dentures in Thailand?

Patients receiving immediate dentures in Thailand experience an adjustment period involving gum soreness, swelling, and temporary speech changes. These dentures provide an instant aesthetic fix after tooth extraction. However, they need multiple relines or adjustments as gums heal and shrink over several months.

  • Physical sensations: Expect a bulky or tight feeling while post-extraction swelling persists.
  • Speech adjustment: Temporary lisps or difficulty with specific sounds are common during early adaptation.
  • Dietary changes: Soft foods are necessary initially to avoid irritating healing extraction sites.
  • Reline necessity: Gums shrink after surgery, so clinicians must perform relines for comfort.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Major Bangkok clinics like Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC) hold JCI accreditation. This accreditation signifies hospital-grade sterilisation. Because gums change shape for 6 months, these dentures are temporary. Bookimed data shows top Thai clinics serve 15,000+ patients annually with English-speaking specialists.

Patient Consensus: Expect initial discomfort and soreness after the anaesthesia wears off in Thailand. Many patients suggest planning for soft foods and multiple follow-up adjustments to manage pressure spots.

What is the follow-up process for immediate dentures placed in Thailand?

Follow-up for immediate dentures in Thailand involves scheduled adjustments to manage healing and gum shrinkage. Patients typically attend a post-operative check within 24–72 hours. This is followed by several visits over 2–3 weeks for soft relining and pressure-point removal.

  • Initial review: Surgeons check extraction sites and manage swelling within 1–3 days post-surgery.
  • Fit adjustments: Dentures are trimmed or smoothed repeatedly as gums change shape rapidly.
  • Soft relining: Clinicians apply temporary tissue conditioners to fill gaps as swelling subsides.
  • Permanent reline: A final hard reline occurs after 3–6 months once bone stabilises.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s leading dental centres, like Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC), perform over 15,000 procedures annually. High-volume clinics frequently include the first soft reline in their base quote. This is valuable as gums shrink significantly in the first fortnight after extractions.

Patient Consensus: Expect dentures to feel tight at first and then loosen quickly. Secure a written follow-up plan for your Australian dentist to handle long-term adjustments once home.

How do immediate dentures work for patients travelling to Thailand?

Immediate dentures in Thailand allow patients to receive a replacement on the day teeth are extracted. This means no time is spent without teeth during healing. Thai clinics often use Ivoclar Vivadent or Straumann materials for these procedures. The full fitting process usually takes 7 to 14 days.

  • Digital impressions: Dentists take impressions before extractions to manufacture the prosthetic in advance.
  • Immediate fitting: Surgeons remove teeth and place the healing denture during the same appointment.
  • Quality materials: Top clinics use brands like Ivoclar Vivadent for durable, natural results.
  • Hospital-grade safety: Facilities like Bangkok International Dental Hospital (BIDH) offer in-patient sedation dentistry.
  • Future relining: Gums shrink during healing. This requires a professional reline after 3–6 months.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai dental networks like Bangkok International Dental Centre (BIDC) treat over 15,000 patients annually. Their high volume allows them to maintain in-house laboratories. These labs adjust immediate dentures within hours rather than days. This provides a great advantage for Australians on tight 10-day holiday schedules.

Patient Consensus: Patients travelling to Thailand often coordinate with local Aussie dentists for final relines at home. Most experience initial soreness. They recommend sticking to soft foods during the first few days of healing.

How long should I plan to stay in Thailand for an immediate denture procedure?

Plan for a 7 to 10-day stay in Thailand for immediate denture procedures. This timeframe covers extractions, same-day denture fitting, and vital follow-up adjustments. Leading Bangkok centres like Bangkok International Dental Center provide these services for international patients. They use JCI-accredited facilities to ensure high standards.

  • Procedure timeline: Extractions and denture placement typically occur in one 2-hour appointment.
  • Laboratory phase: Custom dentures require 3 to 5 business days for precision fabrication in-house.
  • Adjustment visits: Patients should attend 3 to 5 follow-up appointments to fix sore pressure points.
  • Buffer period: Build in 2 to 3 days before flying to ensure the dentures fit comfortably.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s high-volume clinics often use in-house labs to reduce wait times. Bangkok Smile Dental Clinic, for example, serves 20,000+ patients annually using their own laboratory. This integration allows for faster adjustments that usually take days elsewhere. This makes a 1-week trip feasible for Australians.

Patient Consensus: Success in Thailand involves staying at least a week to manage looseness after swelling drops. Patients suggest avoiding flights immediately after fitting. They also recommend checking if telehealth follow-up is available.

Which dental clinics in Thailand are recommended for immediate denture procedures?

Top dental centres in Thailand for immediate dentures include Bangkok International Dental Center (BIDC), Bangkok International Dental Hospital (BIDH), and SmileBox Dental Clinic. These facilities specialise in coordinated extraction and same-day denture fitting. These services often save Australians up to 50% compared to local costs.

  • Certified excellence: BIDC is JCI-accredited and an official partner of Swiss manufacturer Straumann.
  • Specialised hospitals: BIDH offers in-patient sedation and hospital-standard sterilisation for complex extractions.
  • Northern options: Kitcha Dental Clinic in Chiang Mai has served international patients for 30+ years.
  • English-speaking staff: BIDC at Emquartier and CIDC have dentists who speak fluent English.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows BIDC handles over 20,000 international patients annually. This high volume is significant. Large clinics typically maintain on-site digital labs. This allows specialists to make immediate dentures faster than smaller practices that outsource lab work.

Patient Consensus: Patients recommend choosing clinics that coordinate extractions and fittings as one plan. Patients should confirm if digital scans are finished before surgery for the tightest fit.
