Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected
Seeing the surgical site for the first time was the moment everything finally felt real. Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected. We used the penile inversion technique, and while the results look promising, the recovery requires a lot of patience and steady commitment to the healing process. My biggest challenge at this stage is definitely the physical discomfort of being seated for a long time. It is a process. The clinic staff has been very attentive during my stay, and I am expecting to have the catheter removed very soon. To anyone else preparing for this surgery, it’s not easy but it is a good experience overall.

The initial appearance is honestly better than expected, even with all the healing that’s still to come
The initial appearance is honestly better than expected, even with all the healing that’s still to come. Seeing that was a huge relief. The surgeon and staff provided great support, making me feel secure from the start. Recovery is no joke. It was a positive step when the catheter was removed, but managing the dilation sessions has been very challenging. My biggest concern is the swelling, and I'm focused on trusting the process. The care and the surgical foundation are solid, which is why I'm rating everything positively.
Everything was perfect. The staff were kind, professional, and very supportive throughout the whole process. The doctor explained everything clearly and made me feel comfortable and cared for. The clinic was clean, organized, and exceeded my expectations. I’m very happy with my experience and grateful for the excellent care I received.
Nothing to complain about. Everything went smoothly and I was satisfied with the overall experience.

My biggest worry going into this was the quality of post-operative care, and that's where things fell short. While the surgeon's work was professional, the support from the clinic staff felt disorganized and was a source of stress during a vulnerable time. The clinic itself could also be improved. It’s a very mixed feeling. I can’t judge the aesthetic outcome yet because everything is still far too swollen to see clearly. On a positive note, getting the catheter removed was a definite relief and a good milestone. The medical part was handled, but the care aspect was lacking.
Language was a problem. Food was horrible, no attempt to take into account cultural differences. Had to wait over an hour for scheduled appointments. Minimal care by all. I would not recommend Wansiri Hospital to any of my friends. Staff would not reach out to my wife, when requested, to resolve problems.

I can honestly say the initial appearance is better than expected
My biggest worry was what the final result would look like. I can honestly say the initial appearance is better than expected. The surgeon used the penile inversion technique, and both the surgeon and the staff have been excellent. Recovery is, of course, a challenge. The catheter is manageable with proper care, and I am following the dilation schedule as instructed, but sitting for long periods is currently very difficult. It’s a real process. For anyone else getting ready for this, my advice is to be calm ☺️ and be happy for the wonderful physical change coming your way!

I wholeheartedly recommend Wansiri Hospital
The hospital is great. I have been looked after since the moment I arrived. The medical outcome is superb. The nurses were very kind and attentive. The only suggestion I would have is to pay in advance as foreign bank transfers can be tricky. I wholeheartedly recommend Wansiri Hospital
Nurses and translator were so kind. The doctor was wonderful
Everything was absolutely great!

FAQ about Fishmouth Top Surgery in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What is Fishmouth Top Surgery for chest masculinisation in Thailand?

Fishmouth Top Surgery is not a recognised chest masculinisation technique in Thailand or internationally. Standard surgical options there include inverted-T (T-anchor), horizontal (keyhole), and periareolar (nipple-sparing) incisions, all aimed at creating a masculine chest appearance.

  • Incision types: Thailand offers T-anchor, keyhole, and periareolar styles for top surgery.
  • Scarring: Fishmouth technique scars differ from common pectoral lines and are more visible.
  • Sensation: Fishmouth method aims to preserve nipple sensation by keeping tissue attached.
  • Clinics: Asia Cosmetic Hospital in Bangkok holds JCI accreditation and ISAPS surgeon membership.
  • Advice: Australians should verify surgeons’ credentials and seek established techniques for safety.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Beware of the "Fishmouth" label; it isn’t a medically recognised procedure in Thailand. Established Bangkok clinics like Asia Cosmetic Hospital follow proven top surgery techniques with solid safety records and international accreditations. This gives reliable results for Australians seeking masculine chest surgery.

Patient Consensus: Australian patients highlight that Thai surgeons stick to trusted incision styles like the T-anchor. They advise confirming surgeon experience and that “Fishmouth” is not a common or valid search term for top surgery there.

Why should Australians consider the Fishmouth top surgery technique in Thailand?

The Fishmouth top surgery technique is not recognised in medical literature or Thai clinics. Australians should confirm proper surgical terms and check surgeon credentials when seeking top surgery in Thailand. Verified methods include anchor, T-anchor, and keyhole techniques, performed by JCI-accredited hospitals.

  • Verification: Confirm recognised top surgery names like anchor or keyhole techniques.
  • Credentials: Seek surgeons with board certification and proven experience in Thailand.
  • Accreditation: Choose clinics accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI).
  • Cost transparency: Ask for full cost details, including anaesthesia and follow-ups.
  • Recovery: Plan for 10–14 days recovery before flying home for safe healing.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many Thai clinics use established top surgery methods, not Fishmouth. Check prior patient photos and full procedure details. Asia Cosmetic Hospital in Bangkok offers JCI-accredited care with a 0% complication rate. Australians benefit most when confirming exact surgical techniques before booking.

Patient Consensus: Australians say Thai clinics provide clear communication about surgery types and excellent postoperative care. They appreciate transparent pricing and the chance to recover comfortably with proper hospital support. The language and credential checks ease concerns about travelling for top surgery.

What is the recovery process like for Australians undergoing Fishmouth top surgery in Thailand?

Recovery after Fishmouth top surgery in Thailand typically involves a 1–2 night hospital stay and about 7 days before drain removal. Patients usually wear a compression vest for 4–6 weeks and avoid lifting over 4.5kg. Full healing can take up to 6 months to 1 year.

  • Hospital stay: usually 1–2 nights for close monitoring post-surgery.
  • Drain removal: typically occurs around day 7, depending on fluid output.
  • Compression vest: worn for 4 to 6 weeks to reduce swelling.
  • Activity limits: avoid lifting over 4.5kg or reaching overhead for 6 weeks.
  • Follow-up: early post-op check-ups offered before flying back to Australia.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics like Asia Cosmetic Hospital in Bangkok provide JCI-accredited care with zero post-surgery complications reported, giving confidence in a smooth recovery. Australian patients often plan extra days in Thailand for early follow-up, as independent travel is hard during initial healing.

Patient Consensus: Recovery in Thailand feels well supported but requires planning for drains and dressing changes. Many Australians budget for a longer stay to handle early care before flying home.

How does Fishmouth top surgery in Thailand compare to the double incision method for chest masculinisation?

Fishmouth top surgery in Thailand offers a less common, non-traditional scar pattern and better nipple sensation than the standard double incision method. Double incision suits larger chests with scars hidden along the pectoral muscle, while Fishmouth fits smaller chests and prioritises a distinct aesthetic and nipple sensation retention.

  • Scar placement: Fishmouth scars circle the areola; double incision scars lie under pectoral shadow.
  • Nipple sensation: Fishmouth uses a pedicle preserving sensation; double incision reattaches nipples as grafts.
  • Chest size: Fishmouth suits small to medium chests; double incision suits larger, sagging chests.
  • Procedure availability: Double incision widely offered; Fishmouth is rare and less verified in Thailand.
  • Surgeon verification: Australian patients should confirm credentials and incision types before booking.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Fishmouth top surgery lacks formal recognition and common use among Thai surgeons, unlike the standard double incision and T-anchor methods. Patients should prioritise proven techniques with documented outcomes and clear before/after examples, especially since only a handful of clinics offer chest masculinisation surgery reliably.

Patient Consensus: Australian patients report Thai surgeons provide clear info on incision types when asked. Most opt for the classic double incision due to wider experience and documented results. Fishmouth remains an uncommon choice without much community feedback.

Which clinics in Thailand are known for performing Fishmouth top surgery for Australians?

Kamol Hospital in Thailand is the most cited clinic for Fishmouth top surgery among Australians. Surgeons like Pichet Rodchareon have a strong reputation for the double incision technique, including options without nipple grafts, delivering consistent results and thorough aftercare.

  • Primary clinic: Kamol Hospital is popular with Australian patients for Fishmouth surgery.
  • Surgeon expertise: Pichet Rodchareon is known for quality double incision top surgery.
  • Aftercare emphasis: Australians prioritise surgeon consistency and proper post-op care.
  • Technique options: Double incision surgery often offered with no nipple grafts choice.
  • Verification tip: Request recent before-and-after photos to check Fishmouth surgery results.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Kamol Hospital regularly handles Fishmouth cases tailored to Australians, highlighting surgeon-focused care plus clear scar and revision policies. This focus on surgeon experience and outcome transparency makes a big difference for trans patients choosing Thailand over other countries.

Patient Consensus: Australians trust the surgeon’s steady results more than the clinic name or country alone. Many appreciate clear pre-op info and follow-up after Fishmouth surgery in Thailand.
