My biggest surprise is the lack of results. Although I am only just beginning my recovery, my skin is already much looser than I expected after such a procedure. The hardest part so far has been the visibility of the bruises, which were very extensive. I have to admit: the staff were decent. However, communication with the surgeon was virtually non-existent, to the extent that I’m not even sure which technique was used. The clinic’s overall organisation was also poor. I would absolutely not recommend this clinic.

the surgeon is very skilled and his stitches are wonderful
The whole process from initial consult to surgery and follow up after care were good. I was very happy the care received from the admin staff and the surgical team. The nurses were so gentle. the surgeon is very skilled and his stitches are wonderful. I would be so happy to undergo further procedures at this clinic. The hotel was also great.
The outcome was great and my surgeries were separated into two - and the bleph was done under local for increased safety and to reduce time under general anesthetic - which is good.
Everything was good no negative feedback

I felt at ease because they showed they were professionals
The medical team was polite. I felt at ease because they showed they were professionals. I only wish there had been a Russian-speaking person, of course, so it would have been easier to communicate, but otherwise, everything was great!

FAQ about Endoscopic facelift in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What is an endoscopic facelift, and why are Australians choosing Thailand for this procedure?

An endoscopic facelift is a minimally invasive procedure. It uses tiny cameras to lift sagging brow and cheek tissue through small hairline incisions. Australians choose Thailand for JCI-accredited facilities and specialised surgeons. For example, Dr Vitawat Angkatavanich has specific training in endoscopic maxillofacial techniques.

  • Scar visibility: Incisions are typically only 1–2 cm and hidden within the scalp.
  • Regional focus: Specifically targets forehead wrinkles, brow sagging, and mid-face tissue vertical lifting.
  • Recovery tools: Thai clinics like Dr Chen Surgery Hospital provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  • Clinical safety: Hospitals like Yanhee International maintain JCI accreditation and ISO quality standards.
  • Proven experience: Top surgeons such as Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul have performed 20,000+ procedures.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s leading surgeons often have direct ties to Australian medical standards. For instance, Dr Chokchai Amornsawadwattana at Yanhee International Hospital trained in reconstruction at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. This helps provide a level of care familiar to Australian patients.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand appreciate the skill of surgeons who place scars discreetly. They also value the convenience of recovery in high-end facilities. Many note the easy communication provided by English-speaking hospital staff and interpreters.

Will there be visible scarring after an endoscopic facelift in Thailand?

Endoscopic facelifts in Thailand result in virtually no visible scarring. Surgeons use small incisions hidden within the hairline or behind the ears. This approach avoids the long, obvious scars of traditional surgery. It provides effective rejuvenation using endoscopic camera technology.

  • Incision size: Surgeons typically make small 2.5-centimetre access points rather than long continuous cuts.
  • Strategic placement: Incisions usually sit behind the hairline or inside natural ear contours.
  • Tissue tension: Lower surface tension during the lift prevents wide or hypertrophic scar formation.
  • Healing: Clinicians like Dr Chen Surgery Hospital use light therapy to speed up wound recovery.
  • Refinement: Scarring typically fades to faint lines that are difficult to see after 12 months.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai specialists often combine endoscopic techniques with specialised SMAS contouring. Dr Ben Benjawan at DGB Clinic co-developed this approach with Korean masters. This combination allows for a deeper lift through tiny incisions. It provides natural results without the tell-tale scar lines of older surgical methods.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand report that scars are well placed and often disappear into the hairline. Most find incisions are hidden at social distances. Some suggest keeping hair longer during the early healing phase.

What is the typical recovery period for an endoscopic facelift following surgery in Thailand?

Most patients return to non-strenuous work within 10 to 14 days after an endoscopic facelift in Thailand. This technique is less invasive than traditional surgery. Significant swelling and bruising typically subside within 2 weeks. Full results usually settle over 3 to 6 months.

  • First week: Swelling peaks in 48 hours and reduces by 80% by day 7.
  • Social readiness: Most people feel comfortable in public by week 2 or 3.
  • Stitch removal: Surgeons typically remove sutures between days 8 and 10 in Bangkok.
  • Physical activity: Light exercise is usually permitted after 3 weeks of recovery.
  • Sun protection: Avoid direct heat, steam, and sun exposure for 4 to 6 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Dr. Chen Surgery Hospital offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy and light therapy to speed up recovery. These treatments reduce inflammation faster than standard rest. Patients can combine these with 24-hour nursing care to manage early post-operative swelling.

Patient Consensus: Visible swelling and tightness generally ease enough for social activities within 1–2 weeks in Thailand. Most people recommend building in buffer days before flying home for a safer travel experience.

Who is an ideal candidate for an endoscopic facelift performed in Thailand?

Ideal candidates for an endoscopic facelift in Thailand are typically aged 30 to 50 with good skin elasticity. This procedure suits those with early facial sagging, drooping cheeks, or low brows. It offers subtle rejuvenation with tiny, hidden incisions rather than a traditional full-face alteration.

  • Age range: Best for patients in their 30s to early 50s seeing early ageing signs.
  • Skin condition: Requires good elasticity to allow tissue to redrape naturally after the lift.
  • Primary concerns: Effectively treats drooping cheeks, deepening smile lines, and early pre-jowls without broad scars.
  • Laxity level: Not suitable for severe neck sagging or heavy jowls requiring skin excision.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai specialists often combine endoscopic techniques with facial fat grafting for better results. Surgeons like Dr Vitawat Angkatavanich at Yanhee International Hospital have specific training in California for these methods. This combination restores lost volume while lifting deeper tissues. It is more effective than a lift alone for thinner patients.

Patient Consensus: Patients travelling to Thailand value the skill of surgeons who place scars for a natural look. Experience shows this approach offers faster recovery and less invasive correction compared to open surgery.

How long can I expect the results of an endoscopic facelift to last?

Endoscopic facelift results in Thailand typically last 8 to 10 years. Some patients enjoy midface improvements for up to 15 years. This technique repositions deeper tissues and facial ligaments. This creates a natural rejuvenation that ages gracefully alongside the patient.

  • Long-term lift: Repositions underlying midface structures rather than just pulling surface skin.
  • Technique expertise: Surgeons like Dr Ben Benjawan co-develop specialised SMAS and endoscopic methods.
  • Clinical experience: Top Bangkok specialists have performed 20,000+ procedures for reliable outcomes.
  • Durability factors: Skin elasticity, genetics, and lifestyle habits determine how long results stay visible.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand is a hub for endoscopic innovation. Surgeons like Dr Vitawat Angkatavanich at Yanhee International Hospital trained in California for these techniques. This international cross-training means Thai specialists often use lifting angles that can extend longevity.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand report that results look refreshed and natural for years. Many note that the surgery turns back the clock. These changes then soften gradually over a decade.

Is an endoscopic facelift performed in Thailand a painful procedure?

An endoscopic facelift in Thailand is not considered painful. Surgeons perform the procedure under general anaesthesia or deep sedation. This technique uses small incisions and a camera. This reduces tissue trauma compared to traditional facelifts. Most patients report mild tightness and pressure rather than sharp pain during recovery.

  • Anaesthesia protocols: Specialists use general anaesthesia or local sedation for no sensation during surgery.
  • Minimal incisions: Tiny incisions hidden in the hairline reduce nerve disruption and surgical trauma.
  • Post-operative sensation: Patients typically describe recovery as facial pressure, tightness, or a dull headache.
  • Symptom management: Surgeons prescribe pain relief and ice to manage swelling during the first 5 days.
  • Expert monitoring: Accredited Bangkok clinics provide 24-hour nursing care to monitor comfort levels immediately post-surgery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Dr. Chen Surgery Hospital use hyperbaric oxygen therapy after surgery to speed up healing. This specialised aftercare significantly reduces post-op swelling and pressure. It makes the first week of recovery much more comfortable for international patients.

Patient Consensus: Most patients find the procedure less painful than expected. They note that the sensation feels more like burning or pulling than intense pain. Being prepared for facial numbness and limited movement helps manage recovery in Thailand.

Can other cosmetic procedures be combined with an endoscopic facelift in Thailand?

Thai surgeons frequently combine endoscopic facelifts with other cosmetic procedures. This allows for full facial rejuvenation in a single theatre session. Common additions include blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), neck lifts, and fat grafting to address sagging skin and volume loss.

  • Blepharoplasty: This removes excess eyelid skin and bags. Surgeons often perform this alongside endoscopic mid-face lifts.
  • Neck lift: This tightens the jawline and neck area. It complements the upper-face focus of endoscopic techniques.
  • Fat grafting: This adds volume to sunken cheeks or temples. It provides a more youthful contour than lifting alone.
  • Rhinoplasty: Reshapes the nose to balance new facial proportions. Many multi-specialty hospitals in Bangkok offer this combination.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Yanhee International Hospital and Wansiri Hospital allow patients to bundle non-surgical options. These include exosome therapy or laser resurfacing. This approach is efficient for Australians as it avoids multiple rounds of anaesthesia. It also compresses the total recovery time into one trip.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand appreciate the convenience of combining multiple procedures to manage recovery in one go. They often recommend comparing the recovery burden of combined surgeries versus staged procedures before booking.
