How Much Does Breast Augmentation with Tear Drop Implants Cost in Thailand in AUD?

Breast augmentation with tear drop implants in Thailand typically costs between AUD $4,767 / ฿A162,092 and AUD $8,812 / ฿A299,624. Final prices depend on the chosen implant brand, surgeon experience, and the facility accreditation. In Australia, the same procedure averages around AUD $15,025 / ฿A510,834, meaning patients save approximately 55% by travelling. Standard Thai medical packages generally include surgeon fees, anaesthetic, private hospitalisation for up to two nights, and airport transfers.

  • Anatomical implant brands: Premium options like Motiva Ergonomix or Mentor CPG typically increase the total cost by 15–20%.
  • Hospital accreditation: Facilities with JCI or ISO certifications often charge more for enhanced safety and private VIP recovery rooms.
  • Surgical complexity: Revision surgeries or procedures combining a breast lift with implants usually add a significant premium.
  • Regional hubs: Main destinations include Bangkok and Phuket, where high-tier hospitals coexist with more affordable boutique clinics.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing established Bangkok hospitals provides exceptional value for Australian patients seeking safety and luxury. Yanhee International Hospital handles 450,000 patients annually and holds JCI accreditation, while Wansiri Hospital features 24-hour post-operative care. Specialist doctors like Dr Saran Wannachamras at Wansiri Hospital have earned industry recognition as trusted breast specialists, which is vital for complex tear drop implant placement.

Data verified by Bookimed as of July 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 70 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and easy the process was from start to finish
Bookimed was extremely helpful, making the whole process seamless. I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and easy the process was from start to finish. I felt well supported and all of my questions and concerns were always answered in a timely manner. The staff at ID Clinic were approachable and friendly, they attended to my needs and requests immediately during my overnight stay and the days following my surgery. The only thing I am not satisfied with, is the lack of depth of my in person consult prior to surgery, as my breast asymmetry was not properly addressed or discussed. Now, I will likely have to explore alternate procedures at a high cost to correct my breast asymmetry once I am fully healed, which I am frustrated with as I feel this should have been taken into consideration and corrected during my initial breast augmentation surgery. However, I would still recommend Bookimend and the ID Clinic as my overall experience was good.
The ease and comfort of the process once I arrived in Thailand.
The lack of depth of my in person consult prior to surgery, that no interventions were made to correct my breast asymmetry during surgery.

the result is perfect
Staff were caring, the result is perfect.
Very happy with the augmentation result.
The communication and language was hard at times. I also didn't realise the surgery happened at the clinic and I wasn't super clear on the after-care plan.

The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations
Waking up, I felt groggy but managed. The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations. The incision was placed under the breast, which is what I wanted. I am still in the early recovery phase, and it has its challenges. My pain has lessened to a mild discomfort, but sleeping through the night is difficult, and my nipples are uncomfortably hypersensitive. Overall, the medical care was solid, though the recovery process itself is demanding. It’s a serious undertaking.

The surgeon and staff were very capable and provided solid care from start to finish
The main thing I worried about was the recovery, and it is definitely a process. At 15 days post-op, sleeping on my back is hard, and the pain is still moderate, though it's manageable. It's not easy. I’m glad that my nipple sensitivity feels normal, which was a specific concern since my surgeon used an incision around the nipple. The surgeon and staff were very capable and provided solid care from start to finish. My best advice for anyone else is what got me through the tougher moments: have patience and trust the procedure.
Very warm gesture I have been experienced from doctor and staff very cooperative and responsible.
Nothing all things were up to the mark

100% recommend this clinic
On 19.02.2025 I had breast augmentation surgery. Beforehand, I received a detailed consultation from professionals Dr Anychit Kitsombud, Dr Elena Goldobenko and nurse Maricor. The doctor helped with the choice of size and shape of implants, told me in detail about the operation, consequences, recovery process, gave clear recommendations. The surgery was easy, the medical staff was always in touch, they helped, cared. Dr Elena is always in touch, controls the recovery process, gives recommendations. Definitely, the choice of this clinic was the right decision for this operation. I am very happy with the result. 100% recommend this clinic. Professionalism, safety, care - B Care!

I had my surgery at B.care on Bukimed's recommendation. Before the surgery, I asked the doctor 3 times what complications there could be, but the interpreter and (assistant surgeon) "did not understand the question" said that there could be problems "ONLY if I do not do massage after surgery. After my breast augmentation, my pocket tore and my implant went down. The doctor told me to wear a rubber band from the post-operative underwear - on top, which provoked the breast drooping even more. Then I was taken to the breast correction, which was done under local anesthesia, just injected the breast with Ledocoin, cut the stitches, tightened and sewed back. It was very painful and I experienced a huge amount of stress that I still remember to this day. This kind of surgery should be under general anesthesia. After the correction, I have again lowered one breast, of course, not so much, but still, very ugly looks. Also initially the doctor placed the implants very low, because of this there is little volume on top, it looks like not round but drop-shaped implant (which does not fit my body type). All postoperative rules and recommendations and followed, wore underwear and massages. The doctor said that this is because I "lay on the chest" shifting the responsibility on me. But, to surf I was allowed in 2.5 months, and there you need to lie on the chest. I learned about the fact that you can not lie on the chest for a year, when I had a torn pocket. I do not recommend the clinic and the surgeon. Very disappointed.

For real I have 0 complaint at all! Highly recommend!
Travelled all the way from Singapore to Thailand because of the great reviews I read online. Here's what I experienced: There was no pain at all during the surgery. By day 6, I was moving around just fine (I did my surgery on a Saturday and flew back to Singapore the following Friday with no issues, even while carrying my luggage). By day 9, all the pain was gone, and I could carry my heavy school bag to school the whole day without any problem. I was honestly quite surprised at how fast I recovered, especially after reading that some people take one to three months to fully recover. That's one of the main reasons I recommend this clinic. The breast implants turned out really well. For real I have 0 complaint at all! Highly recommend!
Today is the 9th day from the day of my surgery and I’m alrdy recovered from the painfulness.
No complain at all, all good

I am delighted that the scars are well hidden and now they are fading away
Dr has a lot of experience in breast implants, he removed my old implants together with capsulatomy and replaced them with new implants with very little scarring. I had waited two weeks to give a proper analysis of his work,, and am delighted that the scars are well hidden and now they are fading away.
Dr has many years of experience in doing implants and he had to remove my old implants and a capsulectomy procedure and putting in new implants with little scarring.

FAQ about Breast Augmentation with Tear Drop Implants in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the common risks or disadvantages associated with tear drop breast implants in Thailand?

Tear drop implants in Thailand carry specific risks like implant rotation. This stalls natural contouring and causes visible asymmetry. Textured surfaces required for these shapes are linked to BIA-ALCL, a rare lymphoma. Capsular contracture also remains a main disadvantage requiring corrective surgery.

  • Implant rotation: Anatomical shapes can shift, leading to breast distortion or upside-down appearances.
  • Textured surface risks: These implants use shells associated with BIA-ALCL, a rare immune system cancer.
  • Capsular contracture: Scar tissue may harden around the device, causing pain and shape changes.
  • Revision complexity: Fixing rotation often requires more invasive surgery than round implant adjustments.
  • Tissue rippling: Firmer cohesive gel may become visible in patients with thin skin.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand offers high-volume centres like Yanhee International Hospital serving 450,000+ patients annually. However, the risk of rotation depends on the surgeon's technique. Surgeons at clinics like Wansiri Hospital or PPSI use precise pocket dissection. This surgical precision is vital as corrective surgery in Australia can cost more than the original procedure.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand appreciate the caring staff and aesthetic results. However, some felt in-person consultations were too brief to address existing asymmetry. Many suggest documenting the implant brand and warranty before flying home for seamless long-term aftercare.

Why would an Australian patient choose tear drop implants over round implants for breast augmentation in Thailand?

Australian patients often choose tear drop implants in Thailand for a natural, sloped breast shape. These anatomical implants suit those with minimal tissue or tubular breasts. They provide a subtle silhouette while saving up to 55% compared to $10,400 Australian averages.

  • Natural silhouette: Mimics biological breast shape with a gradual slope from the upper pole.
  • Structural integrity: Firmer cohesive gel reduces the risk of visible rippling in thinner patients.
  • Anatomical correction: Effectively addresses tubular breasts or mild sagging by filling the lower half.
  • Lower placement risk: Helps shape the lower pole to avoid the "double bubble" effect.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bookimed data shows Thailand is a primary hub for anatomical precision. Surgeons like Dr Saran Wannachamras at Wansiri Hospital hold specialised awards for breast surgery. Centres like Yanhee serve 450,000+ patients annually. This gives their specialists vast experience with anatomical implant orientation.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand appreciate the seamless support and caring staff during their stay. They recommend confirming pre-operative plans for asymmetry to make sure the final look meets expectations.

What reputable implant brands are typically available for breast augmentation surgery in Thailand?

Reputable international brands like Motiva and Mentor are the standard for breast augmentation in Thailand. Most JCI-accredited hospitals and specialist clinics exclusively use silicone gel implants. These brands are favoured by board-certified surgeons for their safety profiles and natural integration with body tissues.

  • Motiva implants: Known for ergonomic designs that mimic natural movement and teardrop slopes.
  • Mentor implants: Highly trusted American-made option chosen for consistent shape and firmness.
  • Anatomical shapes: Teardrop options provide a natural slope for patients with minimal tissue.
  • Quality assurance: Leading facilities like Yanhee International Hospital provide official implant warranty cards.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand’s high-volume centres often provide better access to the latest Motiva generations. Hospitals like Yanhee, which serves 450,000+ patients annually, maintain large inventories. JCI-accredited Asia Cosmetic Hospital also keeps diverse profiles in stock. This allows surgeons to select the precise size needed during surgery.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand report that staff are highly caring. Many consider their surgical results to be perfect. Patients recommend requesting the exact implant model and warranty details after the procedure.

How long should an Australian traveller stay in Thailand for breast augmentation recovery before flying home?

Australian travellers should plan to stay in Thailand for 10 to 14 days after breast augmentation. A 14-day window allows for wound checks, drain removal, and stable recovery from general anaesthesia. This time is crucial before a long-haul flight. Specialist clinics usually require 7 days minimum for initial healing.

  • Fly-home window: specialists recommend 14 days for safety during long 9-hour flights.
  • Initial recovery: clinics like Lelux provide VIP suites for 24-hour monitoring during the first days.
  • Wound care: surgeon follow-ups at clinics like PPSI confirm implants are stable before departure.
  • DVT prevention: staying 10+ days reduces risks from cabin pressure and restricted movement.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data suggests high-volume centres like Yanhee International Hospital or ID Clinic Bangkok often manage complex international cases. Choosing a clinic with JCI accreditation confirms safety standards match Australian private hospitals. This is vital when planning a recovery timeline for tear drop implant placements.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand found a 2-week stay much more comfortable than rushing home. The first 5 days are the most taxing. However, staff at Bangkok clinics remain very supportive. Most recommend booking accommodation near the hospital to make follow-up appointments easier.
