I couldn’t be happier with my decision to come here, and my flight back to Hawaii was smooth and stress-free
I had an amazing experience with Dr. Park and the entire team! From start to finish, everyone—especially Joanne—was incredibly accommodating and attentive, which made me feel safe and well cared for. Dr. Park did an incredible job on my breast augmentation. Remarkably, after just one day of recovery, I was able to walk around Seoul, use public transport, and see all the sights I wanted to visit. Although it was slightly uncomfortable at times, I never experienced significant pain beyond the first few hours after waking from anesthesia. I truly believe this speaks to Dr. Park’s precision—and maybe a little to my own fast healing! The clinic goes above and beyond for their patients. I received IV therapy, red light therapy, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, all of which made me feel well supported throughout recovery. Dr. Park and the team checked in consistently, which is such a green flag—so different from many experiences in the U.S., where doctors often focus solely on the surgery itself. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to come here, and my flight back to Hawaii was smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Dr. Park for anyone seeking attentive, professional care and excellent results.

That gave me a lot of confidence
I really appreciated the time my doctor took during the consultation for my forehead and frown lines. He was so thorough, explaining exactly where and why he would inject, and was very honest about what realistic results would look like after showing me photos of previous patients. That gave me a lot of confidence. Now in my early recovery, I'm feeling better than expected. It was a good process. The final price was exactly what I was quoted, with no additional expenses. My only note is that there was little contact from the clinic after my appointment, but overall the service was solid.
I’ve love how medical coordinator took care of everything !

If a friend asked me where to go for deep plane facelift 'd tell them about this clinic without hesitation. The process from start to finish was handled with such professionalism. I am still in the early stages of healing, so I am following all the aftercare instructions carefully. The surgeon was thorough, and the entire staff made me feel comfortable and well-cared-for throughout my visit. The facility was also very clean and modern. I am thankful for the support I received from the whole team.

FAQ about Microneedling in Republic of Korea

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

How many sessions of microneedling in South Korea are needed for visible results?

Most patients need 3 to 6 microneedling sessions in South Korea. This helps them see significant, long-lasting results. Skin texture often improves after 1 to 2 visits. However, deeper concerns like acne scarring or collagen loss typically need at least 4 sessions. These are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.

  • Pore reduction: Patients typically need 3 sessions at 4-week intervals using devices like Genius RF.
  • Acne scarring: Doctors recommend 4 to 8 sessions for cumulative improvement of deep damage.
  • Skin rejuvenation: Visible collagen stimulation often appears 3 to 4 weeks after the third treatment.
  • Maintenance visits: Clinics suggest follow-up sessions every 6 to 12 months to preserve results.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many Seoul clinics, such as Forena Clinic or BIOFACE Clinic, bundle microneedling with stem cell or exosome therapy. These boosters cost more but accelerate the healing process. Selecting a package with these additions can reduce the total session count. This helps patients achieve glowing, refined skin.

Patient Consensus: Patients find that results build gradually. The most noticeable changes to scars and texture appear after the fourth session. In South Korea, booking multi-session packages is standard practice. This helps patients achieve visible success, rather than relying on a single treatment.

What is the downtime for microneedling in South Korea?

Downtime for microneedling in South Korea is generally minimal. Most patients achieve full recovery within 1–3 days. Standard sessions in Seoul clinics cause mild redness and sensitivity. This acute phase typically subsides by day 3. This allows for a quick return to sightseeing or shopping.

  • Acute phase: Mild redness and swelling occur during the first 1–2 days post-treatment.
  • Healing phase: Skin feels tight or dry like sandpaper between days 3 and 5.
  • RF Microneedling: Popular options like Potenza often require only 1–2 days of visible recovery.
  • Aftercare rituals: Clinics like Forena Clinic use exosome therapy to accelerate skin healing.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Seoul clinics lead the market by bundling microneedling with regenerative boosters. Data shows clinics like BIOFACE Clinic or Forena Clinic frequently integrate exosome or stem cell therapies. These additions can shorten visible redness to just 24 hours. This makes treatments highly compatible with short overseas holidays.

Patient Consensus: Patients in the Republic of Korea report that appearance improves significantly within 48 to 96 hours. Many advise avoiding makeup for the first 3 days due to sensitivity.

What are the best types of microneedling treatments in South Korea?

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling paired with regenerative skin boosters is the gold standard for treatment in South Korea. Specialist dermatologists in Seoul typically prefer Potenza, Virtue RF, or Genius systems. These treat acne scars, enlarged pores, and skin laxity more effectively than traditional methods.

  • RF microneedling: Uses devices like Potenza to deliver heat energy deeply for superior collagen production.
  • Booster combinations: Pairs needling with Rejuran PDRN or exosomes to accelerate healing and skin glow.
  • Advanced diagnostics: Clinics such as Lalian Cheongdam use 3D MetaView analysis to customise needle depth.
  • Doctor-led care: Procedures are performed by board-certified dermatologists rather than estheticians for higher safety.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While basic microneedling is available, Bookimed data shows a clear patient preference for RF devices like Genius. These systems use finer, flexible needles that cause less surface damage and reduce bruising. This makes them a smarter choice for international patients with limited recovery time.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Seoul frequently combine microneedling with Rejuran or Juvelook boosters for the signature glass skin look. Many recommend checking if LED light therapy and calming masks are included. These help quickly manage post-treatment redness.

Does microneedling in South Korea hurt?

Microneedling in South Korea is generally tolerable. Clinics routinely apply potent local anaesthesia for 20 to 30 minutes. Most patients feel a light scratching or vibrating sensation rather than sharp pain. Specialised skin clinics in Seoul use devices like Potenza to manage discomfort effectively.

  • Pain sensation: Most report a mild scratching or hot pinching feeling during the procedure.
  • Numbing protocols: Korean clinics use high-strength topical anaesthesia to desensitise the skin before treatment.
  • Sensitive areas: Discomfort typically increases on thinner skin like the forehead, nose, and jawline.
  • Post-treatment feeling: Skin often feels hot, tight, or slightly stinging, similar to a mild sunburn.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While standard microneedling is manageable, radiofrequency treatments like Potenza are significantly more intense. Surgeons like Dr Yeom Jihye at Forena Clinic have performed 14,000+ procedures. This shows how experienced specialists adjust needle depth settings to balance clinical results with personal pain thresholds.

Patient Consensus: Regular microneedling feels like small pinches. But radiofrequency options in Korea are much sharper and hotter. Sensitive spots near the mouth sting more. The discomfort usually fades within a few hours.

Where can I get reputable microneedling in South Korea?

Reputable microneedling in South Korea is best accessed at dermatologist-led clinics. These are in Seoul districts like Gangnam, Cheongdam, and Myeongdong. These centres hold prestigious American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) or KAHF certifications. They include Forena Clinic and AB Plastic Surgery. Patients often choose radiofrequency (RF) options like Potenza or Morpheus8 over traditional MTS techniques.

  • Clinic credentials: Look for AAD or KOIHA-accredited clinics to meet international safety standards.
  • Advanced technologies: Leading centres use Potenza RF and Thermage FLX for integrated skin tightening.
  • Personalised care: Forena Clinic provides private VVIP suites and stem cell regenerative therapies.
  • Specialist expertise: Surgeons like Dr Yeom Jihye have performed over 14,000 successful aesthetic procedures.
  • Language support: Major international clinics provide multilingual staff and dedicated foreign patient centres.

Bookimed Expert Insight: South Korea is a global hub for aesthetic medicine. It serves 25,000+ international patients each year at high-volume centres like BIOFACE Clinic. Basic microneedling starts from $200. However, the real value lies in clinics like Forena that bundle stem cell or exosome therapy. This combination accelerates healing compared to standard treatments found in Australia.

Patient Consensus: Clinics in Seoul provide detailed skin reports and authentic product verification during consultations. Patients recommend choosing dermatologist-led clinics over generic spas. This gives a more targeted and professional experience.

What should I avoid after a microneedling treatment in South Korea?

After microneedling in South Korea, avoid direct sun, intense exercise, and active skincare. Do this for at least 72 hours. Patients must skip saunas, makeup, and swimming for 1 week to protect the skin barrier. Leading Seoul clinics like Forena Clinic and AB Plastic Surgery require these protocols. This ensures safe healing.

  • Heat sources: Skip saunas, jjimjilbangs, and hot showers for 3–7 days to reduce inflammation.
  • Active skincare: Avoid retinols, vitamin C, and chemical exfoliants (AHAs/BHAs) for 1 full week.
  • Physical activity: Pause intense gym sessions for 48–72 hours to prevent sweat-induced breakouts.
  • Sun exposure: Strictly avoid direct sunlight for 14 days and use SPF 30+ daily.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Australian clinics often suggest 24 hours of downtime. However, South Korean dermatologists at high-volume centres like Forena Clinic frequently recommend 72 hours. This longer window accounts for the intensive exosome or PDRN (salmon DNA) boosters. They are commonly used in Seoul. These serums require more time to settle into the micro-channels for the best results.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Republic of Korea highlight the importance of bringing a simple kit. The kit should include bland moisturiser and healing balms. They suggest avoiding major sightseeing or long outdoor walks in Seoul immediately after the procedure.
