Set aside more money for the treatment than is stated. Taxes were added on top at the clinic, and the dental cleaning also costs extra. I ended up with additional costs of around $100.
It was very easy to book the appointment, and on the day of the treatment everything went really quickly. Within an hour, my teeth were beautifully whitened.
One negative aspect was the lack of transparency regarding the costs. The description of the treatment suggested that, for $370, you would receive three sessions of bleaching plus a professional teeth clean. However, when I got there, I had to pay extra for the teeth cleaning, and on top of that, a hefty amount of tax was suddenly added to the total price, which meant the whole thing ended up costing nearly $100 more. Fortunately, I don’t trust anything, so I’d already factored in additional costs when planning my budget. Even so, it would be nice to be able to estimate the costs in advance.

FAQ about Emax veneers in Republic of Korea

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Can I eat normally after getting Emax veneers in Republic of Korea?

Patients can eat normally after receiving Emax veneers in the Republic of Korea. This is possible once the initial adjustment period passes. South Korean clinics like DARUN Dental Clinic use high-strength lithium disilicate porcelain. This allows for a standard diet. However, avoiding exceptionally hard or sticky foods prevents damage to the ceramic bond.

  • Immediate window: Wait 2–3 hours for anaesthesia to wear off before eating anything.
  • Temperature sensitivity: Avoid very hot or cold foods during the first 48 hours.
  • Dietary restrictions: Skip ice, nuts, hard lollies, and crab shells to prevent cracking.
  • Stain resistance: Emax porcelain is non-porous and resists staining from coffee and red wine.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Leading Seoul clinics often perform same-day adjustments or final placements using proprietary restoration techniques. Emax is incredibly durable. Still, Korean specialists like Dr Kim Geun-il advise using back teeth for heavy chewing. This protects the A$900–A$1,700 investment by reducing direct pressure on the front veneers.

Patient Consensus: Most people report temporary sensitivity to cold drinks immediately after the procedure in Korea. Patients stuck to lukewarm, soft foods on the first day. They found this made the transition easier.

How long does the process for Emax veneers in South Korea take?

The Emax veneers process in South Korea typically takes between 1 and 7 days. Many Seoul clinics specialise in same-day treatments that last 8 to 10 hours. These treatments use in-house digital milling. Standard multi-visit procedures involving external laboratories usually require 7 to 10 days to complete.

  • Same-day treatment: Uses in-house CAD/CAM technology to design, mill, and bond veneers in one day.
  • Multi-visit workflow: Involves an initial consultation, tooth preparation, and 7 to 10 days for lab manufacturing.
  • Digital scanning: Replaces messy traditional moulds with high-speed digital scans for a precise custom fit.
  • Proprietary techniques: Specialists like DARUN Dental Clinic use unique methods for durable, long-lasting restorations.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Same-day Emax veneers are highly efficient but physically demanding. Data shows patients often spend 9 hours at the clinic. Opting for a 2-day split protects patient comfort while still avoiding the week-long wait for temporaries. This balance is popular at high-volume Seoul centres serving international travellers.

Patient Consensus: Clinics in South Korea offer incredibly fast results with digital milling. The process is smooth but can be tiring for a full set. Patients appreciate getting permanent veneers without wearing temporaries for a week.

Does getting Emax veneers in South Korea require tooth shaving?

Emax veneers in South Korea typically require minimal tooth shaving. The amount removed is usually between 0.1mm and 0.3mm for a natural fit. Highly conservative Korean clinics prioritise preserving up to 95% of natural enamel. Specialists often offer no-prep options for patients with gaps or small teeth to avoid any reduction.

  • Minimal preparation: Enamel reduction usually stays within 0.1–0.3mm to prevent bulky results.
  • No-prep options: True no-prep techniques are available for specific cases like closing gaps.
  • Technology: Doctors use 3D imaging to craft ultra-thin shells for precise bonding.
  • Enamel preservation: Conservative methods help reduce long-term sensitivity and maintain natural tooth strength.

Bookimed Expert Insight: South Korean dental specialists often hold dual certifications in implantology and restorative dentistry. Examples include Dr Kim Geun-il and Dr Lim Gi-hyeon. This high level of training means they focus on long-term structural integrity. While Emax is incredibly durable, these experts frequently recommend a 0.2mm polish. This makes the veneer sit flush with the gum line.

Patient Consensus: South Korean clinics usually perform very light enamel reduction rather than full shaving. Patients appreciate that the process feels non-invasive. Many recommend asking for a written reduction plan before starting. This shows exactly how many millimetres each tooth requires.

How long do Emax veneers placed in South Korea last?

Emax veneers in South Korea typically last between 10 and 15 years. With meticulous maintenance and proper bite alignment, many patients see their restorations last 20+ years. High survival rates exceed 95% at the 10-year mark. This is due to the durability of lithium disilicate blocks.

  • Material quality: Korean clinics typically use authentic IPS E.max blocks. This ensures high fracture resistance.
  • Digital precision: Specialists use AI and digital smile design for precise, long-lasting bonding.
  • Warranty programs: Many Seoul clinics offer 5 to 10-year warranties covering chips or debonding.
  • Specialist expertise: Qualified prosthodontists like Dr Lim Gi-hyeon provide reconstructive and aesthetic care.

Bookimed Expert Insight: South Korean clinics such as DARUN Dental and 365 Seoul OneTop often perform same-day adjustments. This is vital because perfect bite alignment is the biggest factor in preventing veneer chips. Proper occlusion significantly extends the restoration lifespan beyond the standard 10 years.

Patient Consensus: Patients find that Emax veneers in South Korea feel incredibly sturdy. They feel especially sturdy when used with a custom nightguard. Many suggest treating 10 years as a conservative baseline. They still expect much longer results.

Where are the best clinics for Emax veneers in South Korea?

South Korea is a global hub for Emax veneers. Seoul clinics specialise in lithium disilicate restorations that offer natural aesthetics and high durability. Leading centres like DARUN Dental Clinic and 365 Seoul OneTop Dental Clinic use US-board certified prosthodontists and in-house digital labs.

  • Specialist expertise: Dr Kim Geun-il at 365 Seoul OneTop specialises in complex aesthetic veneers.
  • Accredited facilities: DARUN Dental Clinic holds KOIHA accreditation, ensuring quality for Australian patients.
  • Advanced training: Chief Director Lim Gi-hyeon trained at Harvard Medical School affiliated hospitals.
  • Digital technology: Clinics use 3D intraoral scanners and computer-aided design for precision fitting.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bookimed data shows that Seoul clinics like DARUN Dental Clinic see 1,200+ patients annually, partly due to same-day adjustments. Choosing a facility with an in-house lab, such as Lucid or Snow, significantly improves communication between the dentist and the ceramic technician.

Patient Consensus: Clinics in Seoul often tier their pricing based on the seniority of the dentist. Patients frequently recommend Minish for premium results. They suggest requesting an in-house lab to ensure the material matches face and lip shapes.

What does the Emax veneers package typically include in South Korea?

Emax veneer packages in South Korea typically include custom lithium disilicate shells, digital smile design, and professional fitting. These bundles cover 3D CT scans, local anaesthesia, and temporary veneers. Most plans focus on smile makeovers for 8–12 teeth, often requiring a 5–7 day stay.

  • Diagnostic imaging: Includes 3D CT scans and CAD/CAM digital smile design for precision.
  • Clinical procedure: Covers tooth preparation, local anaesthesia, and permanent bonding of Emax shells.
  • One-day options: Some Seoul clinics offer 8–9-hour processes including on-site lab work.
  • Extended aftercare: Many packages provide warranties ranging from 5 to 10 years.

Bookimed Expert Insight: South Korean clinics often use tiered pricing based on warranty length rather than just materials. Paying a slightly higher per-tooth rate can extend a patient’s coverage from 5 to 10 years. This often includes free repairs for chipping, which is a significant value-add for international patients.

Patient Consensus: Patients in South Korea value the ultra-thin minimal-prep options that preserve natural enamel. Many suggest confirming if the quote includes long-term aftercare and verify any foreigner surcharges upfront.

Are Emax veneers placed in South Korea stain-resistant?

Emax veneers placed in South Korea are highly stain-resistant because they are made from lithium disilicate. This non-porous glass-ceramic material does not absorb pigments from coffee, tea, or red wine. Clinics in Seoul use CAD/CAM technology for colour-stable, durable results for international patients.

  • Material properties: Lithium disilicate porcelain is non-porous and mimics natural glass properties.
  • Longevity focus: Genuine Emax does not deteriorate or soak up stains over time.
  • Clinical oversight: U.S. board-certified prosthodontists at clinics like DARUN Dental Clinic oversee restorations.
  • Margin integrity: Proper placement prevents plaque buildup at edges where staining typically occurs.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While Emax material itself is stain-proof, South Korea’s 1,200+ annual patient clinics focus on margin precision. Expert techniques like those at DARUN Dental Clinic integrate prosthetics with natural teeth. This prevents the tiny gaps where cement staining usually happens, protecting the bright finish.

Patient Consensus: Emax feels like natural glass and stays white regardless of coffee or wine consumption. It is much more durable than composite bonding. Protective nightguards help prevent chipping from grinding. Patients should confirm clinics use genuine porcelain blocks for the best opacity.

Can I eat normally after getting Emax veneers in South Korea?

Patients can eat normally after getting Emax veneers in South Korea once the initial bonding period concludes. Emax material is exceptionally durable. However, dentists recommend avoiding hard or sticky foods for the first 24 to 48 hours. This allows the bonding agent to set fully.

  • Bonding protection: Avoid sticky foods like taffy or gum during the first 48 hours.
  • Temperature control: Limit very hot or cold items initially to manage temporary tooth sensitivity.
  • Soft food phase: Stick to porridge or yogurt until numbness from the anaesthesia wears off.
  • Long-term care: Slice hard foods like apples or carrots instead of biting directly into them.

Bookimed Expert Insight: High-volume Seoul clinics like DARUN Dental Clinic often use proprietary techniques. These techniques allow same-day adjustments. This is vital for Australians on a tight holiday schedule. Any bite misalignments that make eating uncomfortable can be fixed before flying home.

Patient Consensus: Patients report that veneers feel sturdy and natural within two months of placement. They recommend following the clinic's written diet guide strictly during the first week. This helps achieve the best results in South Korea.
