He completed advanced laparoscopic training in France (2005–2006). He became an Associate Professor in 2007 and a Professor in 2013. He also served as Clinical Chief at Elazığ Education and Research Hospital. In 2014, he worked in bariatric and metabolic surgery clinics at Weill Cornell Medical College and Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.
He has published in international journals and is a member of professional societies.
