How Much Does Revision circumcision Cost in Turkey in AUD?

Revision circumcision in Turkey typically costs from AUD $1,152 to AUD $2,017. The final price depends on the complexity of the corrective surgery, the use of general anaesthetic, and the clinic's location. In Australia, patients often pay around AUD $3,889, meaning they can save approximately 59% by travelling. Standard packages include the surgeon's fee, pre-operative blood tests, local transfers, and follow-up care.

  • Standard revision: AUD $1,152 to AUD $2,017 for correcting minor cosmetic concerns or skin issues.
  • Complex reconstruction: typically increases the base price by 30–50% for extensive tissue repair needs.
  • General anaesthetic: often adds a premium if requested over standard local anaesthesia options.
  • Adult cases: usually cost more than paediatric procedures due to surgery time and medication requirements.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a specialist with high procedural volume provides the best value and predictable results. At Hisar Hospital Intercontinental in Istanbul, packages start around A$1,500 and feature surgeons like Dr. Basri Cakiroglu. He has performed over 900 successful revision procedures. This clinical expertise is vital for complex reconstructive cases where tissue preservation is a priority for the patient.

Data verified by Bookimed as of July 2026, based on patient requests and official quotes from 5 clinics worldwide. Median costs are based on real invoices (2025–2026) and updated monthly. Actual prices may vary.

No positive statements identified
the hospital facilitator did not provide all the necessary information to the hotel: 1. there were no baby cots upon arrival. we had to ask ourselves 2. we made explicit requests that we need breakfast. however the next day we were told only rooms were booked. No breakfast.
the short hospital stay
the indifferent attitude of the nurses...no smiles, no empathy, no children's meal, lunch served at 2.30pm for patients' parents

FAQ about Revision circumcision in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Are Turkish surgeons qualified to perform revision circumcision procedures?

Turkish surgeons are highly qualified to perform revision circumcision. Many hold European Board of Urology (FEBU) and Joint Commission International (JCI) certifications. Leading specialists in Istanbul, such as Dr Basri Cakiroglu at Hisar Hospital Intercontinental, have performed over 900+ urological procedures.

  • Specialist credentials: Surgeons often hold Associate Professor or Professor titles with 20+ years of experience.
  • Clinical training: Many urologists completed observerships or fellowships at prestigious US or European institutions.
  • Technical expertise: Specialists address complex scar tissue, uneven skin flaps, and genitourinary reconstructive needs.
  • Hospital standards: Procedures take place in JCI-accredited facilities following international safety and sterilisation protocols.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many clinics offer standard circumcision, but revision cases require reconstructive expertise. Data shows that specialists like Dr Ramazan Gökhan Atis specialise in genitourinary reconstructive surgery. This is vital because revisions are technically demanding. Choosing a surgeon with this sub-specialisation helps them manage existing scar tissue effectively.

Patient Consensus: Turkish specialists provide thorough results when correcting uneven skin or buried results. Patients suggest reviewing specific before-and-after photos. They also recommend ensuring the procedure occurs in a full hospital setting.

What are the common medical reasons for requiring a revision circumcision in Turkey?

Revision circumcision in Turkey is commonly performed to fix redundant foreskin, skin bridges, or scar tissue. Turkish urologists specialise in correcting functional issues like painful erections. They also address aesthetic concerns such as asymmetry or uneven skin removal.

  • Residual tissue: Surgeons remove redundant foreskin that causes hygiene problems or discomfort.
  • Skin bridges: Specialists release tissue adhesions that have fused to the glans.
  • Scar revision: Doctors fix thick, uneven, or painful scarring from the original procedure.
  • Functional repair: Revision corrects skin tightness that hampers comfort during regular activities.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish centres like Hisar Hospital Intercontinental use specialists who have performed 900+ urological procedures. Dr Cevper Ersoz at Medipol Acibadem is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology. Such credentials are vital when correcting complex scar tissue or skin bridges.

Patient Consensus: Men visiting Turkey often seek to fix messy or incomplete original results. They report relief from resolving pulling sensations, restricted movement, and recurring inflammation after their second surgery.

Is the revision circumcision procedure performed in Turkey painful?

Revision circumcision in Turkey is not painful during surgery because specialists use general or local anaesthetic. Post-operative discomfort usually peaks within the first 72 hours. Doctors provide analgesics to manage this. Most patients return to light activities comfortably after a few days of rest.

  • Pain-free procedure: Anaesthesia provides zero sensation as surgeons perform genitourinary reconstructive surgery to correct issues.
  • Post-op management: Specialists like Dr. Basri Cakiroglu prescribe analgesics to control initial stinging and throbbing.
  • Recovery peak: Discomfort and swelling typically decrease significantly between the third and seventh days.
  • Expert care: Hisar Hospital Intercontinental holds JCI accreditation, following international standards for patient comfort and safety.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data suggests choosing a specialist with high procedural volume reduces discomfort risks. Dr. Basri Cakiroglu at Hisar Hospital has performed over 900+ procedures. This experience typically leads to refined techniques and smoother recoveries. Such expertise is common in Istanbul clinics that host over 250,000 patients annually.

Patient Consensus: The operation is painless under anaesthetic. However, the first dressing change can feel quite sensitive. Patients recommend resting for several days before flying home to avoid soreness during airport movement.

What is the expected recovery timeline following a revision circumcision in Turkey?

Revision circumcision recovery in Turkey generally takes 4 to 6 weeks for complete healing. Patients typically return to light activity within 3 to 5 days. However, taking 7 days off work is common. Initial swelling and sensitivity are intense during the first week before gradually fading.

  • Work leave: Take 7 days off to manage initial discomfort and swelling.
  • Return to activity: Resume light movements after 3–5 days to help circulation.
  • Stitch removal: Dissolvable sutures usually fall out naturally within 4 to 6 weeks.
  • Physical restrictions: Avoid sexual activity and heavy exercise for at least 6 weeks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish urologists like Dr Basri Cakiroglu at Hisar Hospital specialise in complex revisions. These procedures involve scar tissue from previous surgeries, so they often heal more slowly. Bookimed data shows specialists here often have 900+ procedures. This experience helps achieve better cosmetic results during the longer healing phase.

Patient Consensus: Initial sensitivity is normal. Patients suggest allowing extra time in Turkey before flying back. Around 3–6 weeks, the final result starts to show as redness and puffiness disappear.
