How Much Does Curettage Cost in Turkey in AUD?

Curettage in Turkey typically costs from AUD $28 to AUD $563, depending on whether the procedure is dental or gynaecological. Prices vary based on the technique used, clinic location, and the type of anaesthetic required during the intervention. Patients save around 89% by travelling to Turkey from Australia, where similar procedures cost AUD $2,532 on average. Packages often include preoperative tests and specialist consultations.

  • Gynaecological curettage: AUD $28 to AUD $563 for diagnostic probe or dilation procedures.
  • Dental surgical curettage: typically costs 80–90% less than gynaecological versions, often priced per tooth.
  • Anaesthetic choice: opting for general anaesthesia instead of local sedation typically adds 15–20% to the bill.
  • Clinic location: medical hubs like Istanbul, Antalya, and Izmir offer the most competitive package pricing.

Thank you very much for the care
If you're looking into getting teeth extracted, I can share my recent experience. I had five teeth removed using only local anesthesia, and it went smoothly. The clinic was great. I felt the doctor was a true professional with a lot of experience, and the entire staff was very nice and friendly. Thank you very much for the care. I would return next time with pleasure and completely without stress. It was also reassuring that there were no additional expenses beyond the price I paid to the clinic. My main advice would be, first and foremost, don't be afraid. I genuinely didn't feel any pain during the procedure.
Super klinika. Doktor profesjonalista z dużym doświadczeniem. Cała obsługa bardzo miła i sympatyczna. Dziękuję bardzo za opiekę. Na drugi raz przyjadę z przyjemnością i całkowicie bez stresu.

It felt like Dr
What stood out was the surgeon's personal attention. He personally checked on me after surgery. Beforehand, Dr. Yaman explained his deep plane technique very clearly for my facelift, which also included my upper and lower eyes, brows, and a lip lift. This personal touch was part of the overall atmosphere. Every thing had a positive vibe; everyone was professional and warm, and the facilities and transportation were exceptional. It felt like Dr. Yaman really cared for you as a person. My recovery is progressing about as expected. I received a clear aftercare guide and had no additional expenses. For me, a little more language support could be useful, but it didn't hinder the process.

The clinic provided excellent support after the procedure: they were always available and gave me clear aftercare instructions
It was very important to me that the surgeon personally carried out the placement of my seven-plus implants. Everything went according to plan. I’m currently in the early stages of recovery, and I’m feeling exactly as I expected, with no surprises. The clinic provided excellent support after the procedure: they were always available and gave me clear aftercare instructions. The doctor also gave me a clear timeline for the fitting of the crowns and, importantly, there were no additional costs.
Everything was very well organised: the hotel, the airport pick-up, and the taxi arrangements for the journey to the clinic and back to the hotel.
Personally, I was very pleased with everything, including the way the clinic was run

FAQ about Curettage in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

Is it safe to have dental curettage performed in Turkey?

Dental curettage is safe in Turkey. It must be performed by qualified periodontists in regulated facilities. Many Turkish clinics hold JCI (Joint Commission International) and ISO certifications for strict hygiene and safety. specialists use modern techniques like probe curettage and laser dentistry to treat gum disease effectively.

  • Specialised expertise: Expert periodontists like Dr. Ebru Hattatoglu at Hospitadent hold certifications from US-based institutions.
  • Clinical oversight: Facilities like Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital follow JCI protocols for sterile theatre environments.
  • Modern technology: Clinics use digital X-rays and 3D imaging to map periodontal pockets before deep cleaning.
  • Credential verification: Leading surgeons are members of the Turkish Dental Association (TDB) or American Dental Association (ADA).

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows a safety advantage in selecting multidisciplinary hospitals for periodontal work. Clinics like Anadolu Medical Center are affiliated with Johns Hopkins Hospital. This provides systemic oversight rarely found in small cosmetic dental studios. These centres integrate gum health with overall medical history, reducing risk for patients.

Patient Consensus: Patients report the procedure is manageable with local anaesthesia. Most describe soreness rather than sharp pain. Many recommend checking that a dedicated periodontist performs the deep cleaning to ensure long-term stability.

What is the process for receiving post-treatment support for dental curettage after returning to Australia?

Post-treatment support for dental curettage after returning to Australia involves a formal handover to a local dentist. Patients should schedule a review within 7–14 days to monitor gum healing and manage sensitivity. This helps establish a long-term maintenance plan for periodontal health.

  • Clinical handover: Bring operative notes, X-rays, and medication lists from the Turkish clinic.
  • Initial review: Book a local appointment to check pocket reduction and gum firmness.
  • Hygiene protocol: Use warm saline rinses and soft-bristled brushes during the first week.
  • Symptom monitoring: Seek immediate care for persistent swelling, fever, or increasing pain.
  • Maintenance schedule: Plan professional cleanings every 3–6 months to prevent periodontal relapse.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkish clinics such as Anadolu Medical Center provide personal coordinators for digital follow-ups. Taking clear photos of the gum line before flying home helps your surgeon compare progress. They can use telehealth if sensitivity persists after you return to Australia.

Patient Consensus: Coordination with a local gum specialist provides professional pocket measurements and long-term stability. Most patients find that providing Turkish records to their Australian dentist makes the transition smooth.

How can I start the process for dental curettage in Turkey from Australia?

Australian patients can start dental curettage in Turkey by getting a periodontal assessment first. They should also get pocket charting from a local dentist. Sharing these records with JCI-accredited clinics allows specialists to provide accurate quotes. This helps create staged treatment plans before patients travel. Clinics in Istanbul or Antalya often handle these remote evaluations.

  • Clinical records: Provide recent panoramic X-rays and periodontal pocket charts for remote evaluation.
  • Accredited providers: Select clinics with accreditation from JCI (Joint Commission International) or Temos International Healthcare.
  • Treatment sequencing: Confirm if curettage is performed in one session or staged by quadrants.
  • Language support: Choose centres like Anadolu Medical Center that provide personal coordinators and interpreters.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While base prices for curettage range from $20 to $400, many Australian patients find better value in clinics like Inci Dis International. They offer in-house laboratories and official Straumann materials. This helps any necessary restorative work alongside gum treatment meet international quality standards.

Patient Consensus: Patients recommend getting local periodontal charting first. This helps to ensure quotes match the required depth of cleaning. Most find the process straightforward in Turkey when specialists provide clear aftercare instructions and soft-food diet advice.

Can nervous patients receive sedation for dental procedures in Turkey?

Nervous patients can receive sedation for dental procedures in Turkey at accredited centres. Options range from oral sedatives and intravenous sedation to general anaesthesia. Specialists like Dr Eren Pera at Hospitaprime Clinic have training in anaesthesiology. This supports anxious patients during complex dental surgery.

  • Sedation types: Turkish clinics offer oral, IV, or general anaesthesia for dental work.
  • Clinical setting: IV sedation or general anaesthesia requires a hospital or A-class surgery.
  • Provider credentials: Board-certified anaesthetists must monitor deep sedation for patient safety.
  • Cost range: Dental sedation in Turkey typically costs from $200 to $1,000.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows a difference between standalone dental suites and multidisciplinary hospitals like Memorial Bahçelievler. Many clinics offer local anaesthesia. However, nervous patients needing deep IV sedation should choose JCI-accredited hospitals. These facilities have dedicated theatre teams and resuscitation equipment on-site.

Patient Consensus: Patients suggest confirming whether sedation happens in a hospital or a standard dental chair. Many confirm that getting written price lists for sedation levels made the process smoother.

How long will I need to stay in Turkey for dental treatment?

Most dental treatments in Turkey require a stay of 5 to 7 days. Simple procedures like whitening take 1–2 days. Complex cases involving implants or dentures typically require 6–8 days. Major restorations usually need two separate trips spaced 3–6 months apart for proper healing.

  • Cosmetic restorations: Procedures like veneers or crowns generally require 5–7 days for lab fabrication.
  • Initial implant stage: Surgical placement of implants typically requires a 3–5 day stay in Turkey.
  • Final implant restoration: Patients return 3–6 months later for a final 6-day fitting trip.
  • Surgical gum treatment: Periodontal curettage or gingivectomy often requires 5 days for initial healing checks.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Clinics with in-house dental laboratories, such as Inci Dis International Dental Clinic, reduce waiting times. These facilities can often complete zirconium crowns or veneers faster than clinics using external labs. This allows a more precise fit before the patient returns to Australia.

Patient Consensus: Plan for about 5 days for the first visit. This covers scans, extractions, and healing. Building in extra time prevents stress if minor adjustments are needed before the flight home.

Is it practical to combine dental treatment in Turkey with a holiday?

Combining dental treatment in Turkey with a holiday is highly practical for many patients. Major centres in Istanbul and Antalya offer care like curettage from $20 to $400. This is much less than the $1,800 average in Australia. Leading clinics often provide multilingual coordinators and integrated travel logistics.

  • Cost efficiency: Patients save up to 89% compared to typical Australian private dental costs.
  • Accredited facilities: Istanbul clinics like Memorial Bahçelievler maintain JCI accreditation for international safety.
  • Specialist expertise: Periodontists like Dr. Bugra Cakin at Ortodent Clinic specialise in gum treatments.
  • Integrated logistics: Centres like Anadolu Medical Center provide personal coordinators and airport transfers.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Data shows highest patient satisfaction when medical needs lead the itinerary. Schedule complex surgeries at the start of a ten-day trip. This allows for swelling to subside and ensures a comfortable flight home. It also permits vital follow-up checks before departure. Popular clinics handle 1,000+ patient requests yearly and understand tight holiday timelines.

Patient Consensus: Success depends on staging sessions with free days for sightseeing. Most feel more relaxed when clinics handle hotel bookings and airport pickups. Leave extra days after the final appointment for reviews. This avoids stress if minor adjustments are needed before the flight home.
