How Much Does Bladder removal with reconstruction Cost in Turkey in AUD?

Bladder removal with reconstruction in Turkey typically costs from AUD $21,605 to AUD $36,008. Total investment depends on the chosen reconstruction method, surgical technique, and hospital tier. Patients from Australia save approximately 48% compared to local fees, where the procedure averages AUD $55,885. High-tier Turkish packages usually include preoperative tests, surgeon fees, anaesthesia, and inpatient hospital stays.

  • Robotic-assisted surgery: Often adds 20–30% to the cost compared to the traditional open approach.
  • Orthotopic neobladder: Typically costs more than ileal conduit due to the complex internal reconstruction.
  • Hospital location: Packages in Istanbul often carry a 15–20% premium over clinics in İzmir or Ankara.
  • Reconstruction type: Continent reservoirs generally require longer surgical time and more intensive post-operative care.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a specialist like Professor Tunc Ozdemir, who helped establish the first robotic urology program, provides immense value. Packages at JCI-accredited facilities like Memorial Şişli Hospital start around A$48,400 for radical cystectomy. For those seeking advanced precision, robotic-assisted laparoscopic options with a neobladder reconstruction are available for approximately A$85,800. These comprehensive prices often cover specialized nursing care and extended hospital stays.

The surgeon was excellent
What surprised me most about my basalioma treatment wasn't the procedure itself, but the detailed skin examination I received. The surgeon was excellent. He made sure all removal options were discussed clearly, which was reassuring since I already had my diagnosis before arriving. Right now, the treated area is healing very well. While the medical care was superb and the clinic facilities are great, the administrative staff seemed a bit disorganized, which was the only downside. Despite that, based on the surgeon’s work, it’s a place I would suggest to others.
My Bookimed coordinator was highly skilled, had the passion and patience for her work and that translated to the numerous array of options provided to me to choose from based on my budget during the entire process. She interacted with me 24/7 just for us to have solution within my schedule. All information (proforma, visa assistance, travel guidance and estimated personal expenses) for the entire treatment were on point and I encourage all manner of persons seeking medical treatment abroad to choose Bookimed as their medical tourism partner.
1. Interpreter only come when the patient calls for his services and that is only during the day. If the interpreter can also support beyond the interactions with the specialist. 2. Airport and Internal movement are left to the patient to handle which can sometimes be a major challenge for some category of patients and given the language barrier. 3. Hospital discharges are very strict even if you the patient feels he/she need additional day(s) to be fit for a return to the hotel to continue the recovery.

It was the right choice
What worried me most was the uncertainty and what the treatment plan would be. But my fears were put to rest after the very first consultation. The doctor was very attentive and explained everything in detail and calmly, which immediately put me at ease. I really appreciate that approach. All the staff at the clinic were responsive and supportive at every stage. The clinic itself made a good impression; everything is well organised. I am currently in the recovery phase and feel much calmer, having a clear understanding of the next steps. It was the right choice.

The doctor and all the staff have been very attentive and professional, which gives me confidence that I made the right choice of clinic and treatment process
My main concern before starting treatment was how my body would react to the drug. I’m undergoing a course of Keytruda immunotherapy for kidney cancer, receiving an infusion every three weeks. Yes, I have experienced some side effects. These are mainly digestive issues, and I feel a little more tired. Of course, I am still concerned that these might get worse over time. But I must say that the doctor and all the staff have been very attentive and professional, which gives me confidence that I made the right choice of clinic and treatment process.

When friends ask if I would suggest this clinic to them, my answer is a 10
My biggest worry was finding a surgeon and team I could completely trust for this personal procedure. That concern disappeared quickly. From the first consultation, the surgeon was professional and the staff were consistently kind, which made the whole process feel secure and well-managed. I'm still in the early stages of healing, but the level of care has been excellent. Everything was clear. When friends ask if I would suggest this clinic to them, my answer is a 10. The support has been fantastic.
Coordinator stayed in touch .The clinic exceeded expectations.I wanted to thank Dr. Baris Nuhoglu and his assistant, who took impeccable care of me. They listened to me and resolved a problem that was very serious and causing me discomfort. On May 19th, they gave me a new birth with professionalism, seriousness, and empathy.I have e big gratitude and deep respect to Dr. Baris and his team, and I wish to return in a few months for a check-up and, who knows, maybe for another new treatment.😁😉👍

The surgeon and all the staff at the clinic were highly professional and competent throughout my experience
My biggest concern before the operation was the recovery period, but now, 15 days after the prosthetic testicle implant surgery, I can say that things are going as expected. I received a small prosthesis measuring 3.5 cm; although I’m not sure of the brand, I’m satisfied with it. The surgeon and all the staff at the clinic were highly professional and competent throughout my experience. Everything went well. The recovery period is going well and without any problems so far.
The service was excellent, and the check-in and check-out were a real treat
No, I'm happy with the service and the performance

Thank Allah that we met him and he did a good surgery
Many thanks to Dr Bora Basharan and Alisher Durdiev! Diagnosis: carcinoma on the tongue. Alisher was very helpful with the choice and full support during the treatment. He gave us confidence in choosing Dr Bora Basharan by telling us about his professionalism and humanity. The most important thing for Alisher was the patient's health and to organise the diagnosis/surgery so that the patient gets the best results. We are very happy about this. We could not decide on the treatment (we were waiting for answers from South Korea) and Alisher did not give up to provide us with doctor's answers, answer our many questions and help with organisation. His ability to speak excellent Russian helped a lot in communication. The first meeting organised by Alisher went well. The doctor explained everything about the surgery and gave us peace of mind due to his experience as a highly specialised ENT surgeon in oncology. The operation went well and the follow up health checks. The recovery is good. We read many positive reviews online about Dr Bor Basharan which gave us more confidence. The reviews are true. After the surgery we were given a room with excellent food and the recovery was good. Thank Allah that we met Alisher and Dr Bora Basharan, for his golden hands, good surgery and organisation. Thank you very much again! Good health to all!

Honestly, I'm in awe from this experience
The hospital was fantastic, room was private, with all required amenities, cafe - lovely, everything was beautiful and clean. Staff were just so accommodating, my Doctor was knowledgeable, explained the procedure in detail. Honestly, I'm in awe from this experience. And even though I was coming in with a slight fear and a tiny panic attack, there was really no need to worry, everything is on a highest level! Thanks to all!
Translators were top notch! Everything was amazing, I can't select just one thing.
Had issue with payment, it kept getting rejected and due to this I wasn't admitted right away. But once payment went through, all services followed smoothly.

My care was very good from start to finish. As soon as I arrived at the hospital, I was greeted by my interpreter and team. They were very friendly, put me at ease and explained what would happen and when. I had checks done and blood taken etc and met the consultant. He was absolutely lovely and again explained the whole procedure. I also met with the Anaesthetist. My procedure was completed and the care was fantastic from all the staff involved. The room and hospital were great. I felt like we had VIP treatment. The Hotel was also nice and everything runs like clockwork. Thanks to all the team but, especially to Ishmeal, Senna and Doctor Ozturk.

But I really liked the Bukimed service - they helped, supported, organised everything in the best possible way
There are certain issues with the hospital, in particular, the staff who are in no hurry and we had to spend the whole day in the hospital instead of a few hours - we waited, waited, and waited again..... But I really liked the Bukimed service - they helped, supported, organised everything in the best possible way. Thank you.
Overall, the hospital is good
Perhaps it's due to a different mentality, but we didn't really like waiting endlessly - no procedure or appointment started on time, no one is in a hurry and no one appreciates other people's time.

Dear readers, if anyone wants to be treated abroad, come specifically to Florence Nightingale and find Prof Ahmet-Tunç Ozdemir and you will not go wrong with your choice
I, Temirbek Ormotoev came from Kyrgyzstan, I chose Florence Nightingale Hospital which was helped by bookimed company and the staff of this company liked me, especially I am happy to deal with Professor Ahmet-Tunch Ozdemir. Today is the 3rd day after the operation performed by Prof Ahmet-Tunç Ozdemir. The operation was done wonderfully, I am satisfied and also the hospital conditions and medical staff were top notch, everyone is polite to the patients, especially the head nurse and nurse Linhai were very good at patient care. Why did I choose Florence Nightingale specifically? Because this hospital is one of the advanced hospitals in Turkey and there is a DaVinci robotised system. I have a neoplasm in my kidney over 30 mm. Prof Ahmet-Tunç Ozdemir performed the operation within 1.5 hours and he has golden hands. Dear readers, if anyone wants to be treated abroad, come specifically to Florence Nightingale and find Prof Ahmet-Tunç Ozdemir and you will not go wrong with your choice. I was discharged on the second day after surgery, I feel great and recovery is underway. In terms of the cost of paying for the surgery, compared to other clinics in Turkey, it is realistic and inexpensive. Mr Ahmet-Tunc Ozdemir, my family and I wish you good health, longevity, good luck in everything and that you stay for a long time saving patients from various diseases, Allah help you. I am also grateful to the medical coordinators of bookimed platform, Liana, who from the very beginning until today accompanies and helps with treatment abroad and assistants named Alisher, translator Aigerim, who know their business professionally. Thank you all who helped me with this situation, Allah bless us all.
Liked Prof Ahmet-Tunç Özdemir, service, medical staff, clinic, overall everything is good.

FAQ about Bladder removal with reconstruction in Turkey

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the risks of bladder removal with neobladder reconstruction in Turkey?

Bladder removal with neobladder reconstruction in Turkey carries risks like urinary incontinence, infections, and electrolyte imbalances. Leading clinics such as Memorial Şişli Hospital offer robotic surgery to reduce complications. Patients need long-term follow-up to monitor kidney function and vitamin B12 levels after surgery.

  • Urinary incontinence: Daytime and night leaks are common during early recovery.
  • Infections: Risk of urinary, abdominal, and wound infections exists post-op.
  • Urinary leaks: Possible leakages at ureter-neobladder and urethra connections.
  • Gastrointestinal issues: Paralytic ileus often occurs, needing drainage support.
  • Metabolic imbalances: Neobladder from intestine may cause electrolyte and B12 deficiencies.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Turkey’s top urology centres like Memorial Şişli Hospital and Hisar Hospital Intercontinental perform robotic-assisted cystectomies, lowering risks of urinary leaks and infections. Many offer advanced tech and critical care backed by JCI accreditation, boosting patient safety despite surgery complexity.

Patient Consensus: Turkish patients note that catheter removal is painful, with restricted movement for 7–10 days. They highlight mucus production in the neobladder requires good hydration to avoid blockage. Follow-up with an Australian urologist on return is common for ongoing care.

What is a bladder reconstruction (neobladder) procedure in Turkey?

A bladder reconstruction (neobladder) procedure in Turkey involves removing the bladder and creating a new one from the patient’s intestine. Urologists such as Dr Murat Binbay at Memorial Şişli Hospital perform robotic and laparoscopic radical cystectomies, offering continent urinary storage without external bags.

  • Techniques available: open, laparoscopic, and robot-assisted cystectomy with continent reservoir.
  • Neobladder connects to ureters and urethra, allowing voluntary urination.
  • Memorial Şişli Hospital has Joint Commission International (JCI) and ISO accreditation.
  • Complex surgery is best done by experienced urologists like Prof. Abdullmutalip Simsek.
  • Packages range from A$47,700 to A$84,600 at leading Istanbul clinics.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Istanbul hosts multiple JCI-accredited hospitals with top urooncology surgeons. Robotic-assisted approaches usually cost more but offer precision and shorter recovery. Clinics like Memorial Şişli Hospital and Bahçelievler provide this care under experienced teams, making Turkey a top choice worldwide for bladder reconstruction.

Patient Consensus: Patients stress confirming the exact neobladder method with surgeons. Turkish hospitals are praised for skilled surgeons and modern facilities. Clear communication from international coordinators helps Australian patients navigate this complex procedure confidently.

How is bladder removal and reconstruction surgery performed in Turkey and how long does it take?

Bladder removal and reconstruction in Turkey is performed by experienced urological surgeons using open, laparoscopic, or robot-assisted radical cystectomy. The procedure removes the bladder and creates a new urinary system, often an orthotopic neobladder or ileal loop diversion. It lasts about 4–6 hours.

  • Surgical techniques: open, laparoscopic, or robot-assisted radical cystectomy.
  • Reconstruction options: continent reservoir, orthotopic neobladder, or ileal loop diversion.
  • General anaesthesia is used for the entire surgery.
  • Top hospitals like Memorial Şişli offer JCI accreditation and robotic surgery.
  • Experienced surgeons such as Prof Abdulmuttalip Simsek perform these surgeries in Istanbul.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Robot-assisted cystectomy packages at Memorial Şişli Hospital are top-tier options, often including neobladder reconstruction. Surgeons here have European and American training, ensuring expertise in complex urinary diversion. Turkish centres combine advanced tech and comprehensive care, supporting intensive follow-up after surgery.

Patient Consensus: Patients highlight the skill of Turkish surgeons handling bladder removal and complex reconstruction. They notice careful post-op care and recovery support, helping them adjust to urinary diversions. Istanbul clinics balance surgical precision with thorough patient guidance through healing.

What is the recovery process after bladder removal with neobladder reconstruction in Turkey?

The recovery after bladder removal with neobladder reconstruction in Turkey involves about a 5-day hospital stay and a gradual return to normal over weeks. Most patients feel nearly fully recovered by six weeks, but full function and continence develop over 6 to 12 months. Robotic surgery speeds early healing.

  • Hospital stay: usually around 5 days in JCI-accredited centres like Memorial Şişli Hospital.
  • Surgery duration: about 8 hours, including bowel reconstruction for the neobladder.
  • Catheter and stents: removed between 1 to 3 weeks post-op under nurse guidance.
  • Mobility: light activity begins early to reduce blood clots and aid bowel function.
  • Long-term: continence and neobladder training take up to 12 months; some self-catheterise.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many top Istanbul clinics use robot-assisted surgery, which cuts hospital stay and boosts recovery speed. Centres like Memorial Şişli and Hisar Hospital focus on close follow-up to manage neobladder voiding issues. Turkish surgeons trained internationally often tailor continence training and advise on diet and daily activity restrictions for the best outcomes.

Patient Consensus: Patients say hospital stays usually last five days. They find recovery slow but steady, with clear guidance on catheter care and mobility. The mucus in urine can surprise some, but nurses explain it well. Many appreciate Turkish surgeons’ detailed advice on diet and avoiding heavy lifting during healing.

Are there specialised surgeons for bladder removal and neobladder reconstruction in Turkey?

Turkey has specialised surgeons for bladder removal and neobladder reconstruction, including robotic and laparoscopic techniques. Experts like Prof. Abdulmuttalip Simsek and Dr Basri Cakiroglu lead these surgeries at JCI-accredited hospitals such as Memorial Bahçelievler and Hisar Hospital Intercontinental.

  • Techniques available: open, laparoscopic, and robot-assisted cystectomy with continent reservoir.

  • Dr Basri Cakiroglu at Hisar Hospital uses da Vinci robotic systems for bladder removal and reconstruction.
  • Memorial Şişli Hospital is JCI-accredited, treating patients from 167 countries annually with robotic surgery options.
  • Orthotopic neobladder reconstruction requires fellowship training in complex urinary reconstructions.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Experienced Turkish urologists use robotic surgery for precise bladder removal and neobladder creation. Clinics like Memorial Bahçelievler and Hisar Hospital offer these. Australian patients should note many surgeons trained abroad, including in Europe and the USA, supporting surgical quality and innovation.

Patient Consensus: Patients say Turkish urologists are skilled in bladder removal and neobladder repairs. They note surgeons' fellowship training and robotic techniques improve outcomes. Australian patients often compare these specialists to local experts for follow-up care.

Why should Australians consider Turkey for bladder removal and reconstruction surgery?

Australians should consider Turkey for bladder removal and reconstruction due to advanced robotic surgery and experienced urologists. Leading Istanbul hospitals like Memorial Şişli offer comprehensive care with shorter waiting times and tailored procedures, including neobladder creation for better urinary function.

  • Robotic surgery availability: Minimally invasive, reduces recovery time and surgical trauma.
  • Experienced surgeons: Specialists perform complex bladder reconstruction and continent reservoir creation.
  • JCI-accredited hospitals: Facilities like Memorial Şişli ensure high patient safety and care standards.
  • English-speaking services: Coordinators and interpreters improve communication for international patients.
  • Recovery timeline: Allow 10–14 days before flying home, with telehealth follow-up options available.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Istanbul's top hospitals manage thousands of complex urology cases annually. Clinics such as Memorial Şişli and Anadolu Medical Center combine robotic techniques with personalised patient support, which is crucial for managing recovery and follow-up from abroad. Many packages include pre-op tests and coordination, making logistics easier for Australians.
