How Much Does Coronary artery bypass grafting Cost in Turkey in AUD?

Coronary artery bypass grafting in Turkey typically costs from AUD $27,197 to AUD $39,870. Final prices depend on the number of grafts required, the surgeon's experience, and the hospital's international accreditation. In Australia, this procedure averages AUD $44,854, meaning patients save approximately 25%. Turkish packages often include preoperative tests, cardiology consultations, hospital stays, and airport transfers.

  • Number of grafts: Costs increase as the bypass moves from a single vessel to quadruple or quintuple grafts.
  • Minimally invasive techniques: Robotic-assisted or "off-pump" beating heart surgery may add 20–30% to the total cost.
  • Accreditation level: JCI-accredited hospitals in Istanbul provide high-tier care and often include multi-disciplinary support.
  • Inland vs coastal hubs: Major medical centres are located in Istanbul and Ankara, with some options in Antalya.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While base prices are low, choosing a specialist with high procedural volumes adds significant value. Dr. Ali Fedakar at Hisar Hospital, for example, has performed approximately 4,000 open-heart surgeries. For complex cases, comprehensive packages at JCI-accredited clinics like Istinye University Medical Park Gaziosmanpasa Hospital start around A$19,600. These include full board, language assistance, and vital airport-hotel-clinic transfers.
