The possibility of breathing issues was my primary concern going into this. And honestly, that has been the biggest challenge in recovery so far, with one nostril constantly feeling stuffed. I felt very secure and taken care of through the entire experience. All of my inquiries were answered very promptly by both the bookiemed coordinator, the assistant, and my doctor (Dr. C Altindąg), is very experienced and talked me through what to expect and analyzed my nose very thoroughly. I breath perfectly now after surgery and my nose is a lot straighter (I had a severe deviated septum and other complications from a past surgery that he identified and corrected including a mirgrated graft and a droopy tip). I'm still quite swollen but look forward to seeing final results in a few months.

I liked everything overall. Initially, I was very afraid, starting with the flight to another country, the transfer to the hotel and the operation itself. But the calmness and poise of the doctor and his team completely dispelled my doubts. 5 hours after the operation I returned to the hotel. Which is also very good because the hospital ward is the worst for me. Exactly after a week I took off the splint, my nose was still swollen. The nose is proportional to my face. My biggest worry was the recovery process itself—not the final outcome, but the immediate aftermath. I'll be honest, it is challenging. My breathing has been completely blocked, which is an uncomfortable feeling. As expected, my nose is still very swollen, with a bulky tip and a puffy bridge where the minor hump was removed. But I was prepared for this. The clinic and the surgeon did an excellent job managing my care from the very first consultation, and the staff were consistently supportive. Even with the swelling, I am confident in the path forward thanks to their skill. The procedure was done using a closed technique.

To say that I was shocked by the doctor's approach to treatment is to say nothing. My impressions to you, just do not wish to experience. The operation was agreed in advance counselling and my wishes. The day of the operation came. In the morning I was picked up from the hotel and with an interpreter, I went through all the analyses. On the question when I will have a meeting with the doctor I was told at 9 am then I pointed out that I am allergic to one drug. But they wouldn't give me any medication before the operation without the doctor's consent. When I was already changed clothes for the operation ( I apologise myself in underwear, in an operating gown ) came the doctor and began to explain to me on his hands that it can not be like this, as I want and he sees it all differently. He began to explain to me with his fingers how it will be. Interrupting the interpreter. The interpreter couldn't keep up with the translation. Hurrying me to make a decision. I replied that I couldn't make a decision without seeing any pictures of what was waiting for me. Then after about an hour of dialogue, the doctor corrected the curvature of my nose on the telephoto in front of me and said here's what awaits you and covered the tip of my nose with his hand. Again we heard my refusal, to which I was told there is no time and I have to make a decision. They told me there was no time and I had to make a decision. My wishes were ignored. What was agreed upon before the operation was changed. My wishes were to correct the curvature and to change and reduce the tip of the nose. The result of the operation is that the curvature was not corrected and the septum remained the same. But the cartilage was grown on the side, which I did not ask for at all, and the nose was visually enlarged and the tip was corrected. Now I'm just shocked with my appearance to say the least. Everything was done at the discretion of the doctor. He ignored all my wishes. Putting me in front of the fact. Without showing me a single photo of what's in store for me. Explaining it to me on my fingers.

I am very pleased with the clinic. Everything was well organised and ran smoothly, from the transfer and hotel arrangements right through to the operation itself. The coordinator, interpreter and doctor were all very attentive, kind and always on hand to help with any queries. I felt looked after and supported at every stage. To anyone who’s unsure, I’d say this: if you have insecurities and don’t feel confident, it’s worth taking this step – the sooner, the better. I entrusted my operation to Dr Ergan Er, who performed open rhinoplasty. Even at this early stage of recovery, I can already see the results. My breathing is better than before, and the tip of my nose looks natural. The whole clinic team was very responsive and professional, which was a great support. My main advice is: if you’ve made up your mind, go to Dr Ergan Er.

If I had to give advice to a friend considering this surgery, I’d talk to them about the recovery. It’s essential to have comfortable clothes, plan for complete rest, and mentally prepare yourself to breathe through your mouth for a while. I had open rhinoplasty to remove a significant bump, and although the process has only just begun, I can already see that the bridge of my nose is straighter, just as I wanted. A pleasant surprise is that my breathing is actually better than before. The tip of my nose is still quite thick, but that’s part of the process. My most important advice is to follow the doctor’s instructions to the letter and apply plenty of ice.

My nose was large and not an easy case for Dr Cem Altindag to work with. The results AMAZING!!!! It looks so natural and matches my face perfectly. The Dr and his assistant both responded in the middle of the night to a question I sent them after the surgery. That is outstanding care!! I had a septorhinoplasty with Dr Ergin Er at Istanbul aesthetics plastic surgery centre, and had an incredible experience!! Everyone was incredibly supportive and helpful. Elviira, my Bookimed coordinator, was amazing at answering any questions I had (which was a lot!) and making sure I felt comfortable throughout the whole process. I was checked up on after my visit and also when I returned after a few weeks, with full end-to-end support. I had a smooth transition to Yasin, my medical manager, who was flawless at arranging travel and all logistics and also incredibly helpful with aftercare instructions. I did not have to worry or take care of anything myself. The hospital was clean, modern and comfortable and made sure I was ok at all times. The staff were incredibly attentive and more than happy to help answer any questions I had and made sure I didn’t feel nervous going in. My husband who stayed with me throughout was also well taken care of (given meals and bedding to stay next to me overnight), which was hugely appreciated. My surgeon, Dr Ergin Er, was very professional and reassuring- I’ve previously had a septoplasty in the UK which he needed to correct as well as performing the rhinoplasty as we had planned. There were no hidden or extra costs and I’m finally able to breathe clearly (like I was supposed to when I had surgery in London). He clearly communicated realistic expectations and what would suit my face I’m currently almost a month postop and couldn’t be more thrilled with the results! He has done the most incredible job and it is better than I could’ve hoped for I can’t wait to see what it looks like as it heals further but he’s truly turned my biggest insecurity into my new favourite feature! The after-care was fantastic and the recovery process was very easy. All the staff at the hospital were incredible and took such great care of me which I couldn’t be more thankful for. Overall, I had an amazing experience and i’m so pleased with how it’s turned out. I was fully taken care of from the first message to now. Originally I was a bit nervous about travelling abroad for surgery and wasn’t sure what to expect but this whole process has been so easy and smooth that I would absolutely do it again and recommend it to others. Everyone was so supportive and great at calming my nerves and reassuring me throughout every step of the way.
