If you're thinking about this, my main piece of advice is to be mentally ready for the procedure, as it can be overwhelming. I’m in early recovery from my breast reduction and lift, and I am feeling better than expected. My surgeon was great; he was honest about what results were realistic for my body and clearly explained all the risks, which gave me confidence. The clinic team was easy to reach and stayed in touch. Do be aware of some additional expenses – I had a prescription that cost extra at the pharmacy. A few practical tips: bring a spare compression garment, cotton t-shirts to wear underneath it, and your own snacks. Also, having my mum with me has been pivotal to my recovery, so I'd suggest bringing a companion if you can.

The co-ordinator at Bookimed, Winnington was brilliant. No matter how many questions I had he was able to answer them promptly and with one small hiccup from the hospital Winnington went out of his way to try and package a new procedure for me. My co-ordinator Eyyub at Optimed hospital was outstanding. The hospital was great, the staff on my floor were fantastic. We used goggle translate when the co-ordinator wasn’t with us if we came up against a language barrier but that was not very often. I was cared for before and after my surgery by the nursing staff who could not do enough for myself and my mum. I 10000000% recommend Bookimed & Optimed hospital

Post op instructions could be better. I have suggested to them to put together a general guide of what to do and not to do and for however long. What’s normal and if something doesn’t feel right who to contact etc. I think this will greatly help international patients and help the hospital co-ordinators from being hounded with a load of questions from several patients all at once. Peace of mind for the patient and a little more support for the co-ordinator. The food is catered for Turkish patients and can be hard for international patients to eat. Again, I have suggested to them to try having a small box of fibrous cereal available at breakfast time and instead of a full meal at lunch time something simple like sandwiches or rolls/bagels/baked goods. Dinner was usually ok and we were able to eat most of that but our daytime diet is a little less than they were providing and there was a lot of food waste which they could minimise & use the money elsewhere if there was a cater to international patients diets.

My surgeon was excellent

My biggest concern before the trip was unexpected additional costs, and unfortunately that concern proved to be justified. My additional costs for two lymphatic drainage sessions, an anti-thrombosis injection for the return flight and meals at the hotel amounted to €450. My advice to future patients is therefore: you should definitely clarify any additional costs that may arise. Apart from that, my surgeon was excellent. He marked the areas very carefully before the operation, which put me at ease. Over 4 litres of fat were removed during the Vaser liposuction, and my recovery has so far gone as expected. The clinic provided me with good support afterwards, was always available and gave me clear aftercare guidelines. If your language skills are not sufficient, you should definitely ask for an interpreter.

So, in the end, the whole package was just right. The coordinator was always on hand for me, organised everything she could and also cleared up any uncertainties. She was absolutely brilliant. The doctor was very friendly, but always rather curt. Because of the language barrier, it wasn’t that easy to sort out many things straight away. That usually only happened afterwards in the coordinator’s WhatsApp group. The transfer and the hotel we’d chosen were also great, and above all, everyone was friendly. The clinic was OK. The rooms didn’t feel as sterile as they do in Germany, but the medical care was very good. Even with the language barrier, the nursing staff always made an effort to chat with you. It was a good thing I had Google Translate.

I was promised a detailed preliminary consultation, but this did not take place. An interpreter on site would have been very helpful. I would recommend a longer stay of at least 10 days. My journey home was anything but pleasant. The wound drains were removed on the day of departure, even though there was still too much wound fluid being produced. On arriving in Germany, I went straight to A&E to rule out any more serious complications.

I would like to share my feedback about the coordinator Kristina, who assisted me from the initial inquiry until the very end. I was searching for a clinic for breast lift/augmentation. I don't recall how, but I submitted a request on Bookimed and received a response very promptly. To be honest, I wasn't planning to undergo surgery so soon; I was simply exploring clinic and doctor options to make a calm decision and perhaps have the lift in a year or more. However, Kristina immediately got involved, listened to my requests, and began providing options in various countries. Initially, I was considering the Czech Republic, but after discussing with Kristina, we decided on Turkey. She took into account my budget, selected clinics, provided reviews with before/after photos, answered countless questions, and I never once felt pressured into making a decision. I had many doubts because I had to travel to another country alone, without a companion, and feared that it might be challenging for me to manage alone, but Kristina assured me that I would receive enough support to not worry. And that's exactly how it was! From the airport meeting to my departure, everything was top-notch! The coordinator in Turkey, Sueda, all the nurses, other clinic staff, and the doctor treated me like a VIP guest! I never regretted my decision and am grateful to Kristina and Dr. Ali for quickly fulfilling my long-held dream! If I need anything else improved in my body, I'll definitely reach out to Kristina and we'll once again choose the best doctor for my request :)

My main concern heading into this was how painful the recovery would be. And to be honest, the soreness when moving is my biggest challenge right now. The staff, however, were fantastic and fully deserve their 5-star rating. Despite the discomfort, I can already see a clear improvement from the Vaser ultrasonic procedure on the two areas I had treated, which is very encouraging. The clinic and surgeon were good overall. My one piece of advice is something I'm living by. Drink water! It may seem counterproductive when you’re swollen, but it helps so much in the recovery process.

It was relatively simple process from beginning to end. The doctor was knowledgeable, professional, and helpful through and through. I’d definitely recommend, but with a few caveats.

The procedure was quick and efficient, but it felt rushed at times. I left the clinic with only one compression garment, which, if you’re thinking hygiene, is difficult to do with just one. I also wish I brought hard cash to tip. From the drivers to the nurse, there were constant reminders of tipping.

Honestly, the experience was okay. I have been in Istanbul three times for medical surgery, and this was the one who I liked less. The transfer, the hotel, the doctor, the nurses; it was all really good! 😊The main problem was in the guide we had. She didn’t speak good english, she was always on her phone and acted like we were not there. When we asked questions, she didn’t know the answers. In my older experiences, the organizer/communicator knew EVERYTHING! The were empathetic and were really friendly. They were ready for any type of question. This time, i was really disappointed. Besides that, there was a lack of information. They send us home and they gave us some Basic Information on what to do, but Information abouth the wounds, how to take care of them, or how to take the stitches out; the didn’t say anything. So the experience was good! 👍🏼 but it could have been better.

I liked the clinic. Dr Mustafa is a good specialist. The final results of my operation are not yet visible because it is only the 9th day today, but I like what is emerging). The medical staff is very caring, kind and attentive. The period of stay in the clinic is one day, but I think it is not enough, at least 2 days. I really liked the assistant and interpreter Akilai. She is very attentive, she will tell you everything, answer your questions, organise trips to the doctor, to the hospital, to procedures, if there are indications, to the airport. She will give coordinates of supermarkets, ATM, order food to the hotel, if necessary. Everything goes much more calmly and confidently with her. A huge thank you to her 🌺

For general strengthening of the body, after the surgery, the doctor referred me to the DISH procedure. I really enjoyed it. I felt like I was revitalised and my head was clearer and I had more energy

I'm still recovering but am very hopeful that the result will be better than I expected

This procedure was on my mind for over 3 years, but I was scared shitless to move forward with it since I've heard a number of unfortunate stories. I had blood clotting issue during pregnancy, so I was extremely worried. Thankfully, Bookimed responded all my questions in a timely manner and with care. Calling me "dear" in every sentence was a bit too much for me, but I knew I was being taken care of. I was mostly surprised that all they needed was my flight info to confirm the appointment, not down payment. That made me feel more at ease to know that it was legitimate. Later, I was contacted by the Istanbul Aesthetic Center's liaison, who was fluent in English and explained everything in detail. Dr. Ergin Er suggested a full tummy tuck instead of a mini one to give the best result once he examined in person, and I'm glad that I did. I can barely see the stretch marks and haven't seen my stomach this flat in years. The disappointing part was when I couldn't get the vaser liposuction on my arms because there's not much fat to extract. I thought my arms are huge but apparently not fatty. Instead of operating for just money, I appreciated the doctor for his transparency. He mentioned it would only give a 30% difference, and it wouldn't be worth of getting scars. At least knowing it from a professional inspired me to focus my workout on my arms instead if second guessing "what-if" if I never took this route. Hence, my procedure changed but the price stayed the same since it deducted arms but upgraded to a full tummy tuck. From the airport pick up to the post-operation, everything was well-planned. I was well-taken care by the nurses and the drivers as well. As the liaison mentioned the nurses aren't fluent English speakers but that didn't stop me from being taken care of. Hi just wanted to say that everyone were so welcoming, caring and gentle. It’s my first experience in cosmetic surgery I did low belly fat liposuction and breast reduction, it’s my first time here in Turkey, I came alone but not for a moment I felt alone. The medical team is truly incredible, Dr. Ergin Er and so caring and very attentive through the way he speaks with me, the advice, his honesty, it even made me have more confidence in myself. This intervention was very important for me he is an excellent doctor thank you very much Dr. The welcome from the entire Clinic was warm. The nurses are very gentle, even with the language barrier. The day nurses were great, My night nurse Ayse was a rare gem, very attentive, very empathetic, thank you very much Ayse. 🫶🏽 Thank you to the amazing women the nurse Merve ❤️who did my drainage lymphatic massage, she came to the hotel to do it, she helped me a looooot she is so gentle, she is the best!! After a liposuction it’s very the best combination to heal after just 1 massage I was feeling so much better I did 5 massage in all because I had to go back home but this massage reduced my oedema so quickly thank you so much. Thank you very much for the organization, my coordinator Beatriz Ramos was so lovely she helped me a lot sometimes I was so anxious but she always were available for me while answering my questions. Whether with the driver who came to pick me up from the airport, the hotel, the translator Dileke. I recommend this clinic at 100%. ☺️💐
