I’d like to leave a positive review of the Dünyagöz clinic and Bookimed, the company that helped me find this clinic. First and foremost, I’d like to highlight the high standard of service at the Dünyagöz clinic. Upon arrival, I was promptly met and immediately provided with an interpreter. So there is absolutely no need to worry about the language barrier — both Russian and English are available here. The interpreter accompanies you at every stage: from the initial consultation right through to the operation itself. This is very important, as eye care requires a precise understanding of all your concerns and the doctor’s recommendations. I was also pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the wards. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and always ready to assist with any queries. Another definite plus was the full board: breakfast, lunch and dinner are included, so you don’t have to worry about practical matters and can focus entirely on your treatment and recovery. I would like to express my special thanks to Bookimed. Wherever I have been to an eye hospital in my life, I have never met such a polite and experienced doctor

The thing I liked the most about the clinic is that there is no compulsion for surgery in the clinic (compared to other places). The main problem with your eyes, that is, whether there is a disease or not, is important to them. If there is a disease, the most appropriate solution will be found. A big thank you to Opr.Dr.Sezer.Haciağaoğlu, who examined my eyes and did the laser. Wherever I have been to an eye hospital in my life, I have never met such a polite and experienced doctor. During the procedure, my surgeon talked me through each step, which was very reassuring. This reflected his whole approach—from explaining what vision to expect realistically for my particular issue to personally checking my eyes after the surgery on both was done. It was great service. The communication was great throughout and everything was made clear; the experience was incredibly smooth. I appreciate that the clinic has stayed in touch as I begin my recovery.

Very modern clinic (top-of-the-range Relex Smile Pro laser correction machine) with friendly, caring staff, my doctor Anil Kubaloglu suggested a more suitable laser correction option than I had planned for which I am additionally grateful to him. The clinic kindly agreed to extend my stay for a day free of charge when I had a flight, provided an extra desk and chair for work. Excellent 3 meals a day.

My distance vision is now crystal clear at 20/20, which is a massive change from my previous prescription in the -3 to -6 diopter range

My biggest worry before getting LASIK was the risk of side effects like long-term dry eyes or glare. I can honestly say my recovery has been very straightforward so far. I’ve had no dryness at all, and even better, I haven’t noticed any halos or glare in low light, which was a huge relief for me. My distance vision is now crystal clear at 20/20, which is a massive change from my previous prescription in the -3 to -6 diopter range. Overall, the whole process was solid. Of course, everyone’s experience will vary, and when I was researching beforehand, I saw many people discussing side effects that I personally did not experience at all. I had the LASIK treatment rather than SMILE, so this review is based on my own LASIK experience. Make sure to do all your research beforehand. If your main concern is whether the clinic is good to get the procedure done, then in simple terms, yes, it is. Like any place, there are things outside of the actual surgery that could be improved, but I would recommend looking through reviews carefully and moving forward with what you personally feel comfortable and confident with.

The staff were good, the room provided was also great, and the surgery went very fast and smoothly with no issues at all. Everyone was kind and helpful throughout the experience. The staff who brought the food and checked in were especially nice. There was one individual in particular I’m not sure of his name, but he spoke English and was incredibly sweet, always checking in and asking if everything was okay. He definitely made the whole experience much better and more comfortable.

One area for improvement would be communication, as English seems to be limited mainly to the coordinator and doctor . If you need to ask other staff or reception for help or information, it can sometimes be a little difficult to navigate. I would recommend having a translation app available and making sure you have your in-hospital coordinator’s contact number handy, as following things up through reception or other staff is not easy . There was also a slight issue with payment, so I would recommend having a backup payment method or checking beforehand what to do if the card machine does not work, since payments are handled directly there. This is especially important if you are travelling from abroad, as I travelled from the UK.

The clinic was great, the doctor very knowledgeable, and the staff were fantastic. The problem was Bookimed itself. Due to poor assistance and a lack of communication, they failed to sort my transfer after a flight cancellation and then refused to refund the Uber I had to pay for. I had ReLEx SMILE for nearsightedness with astigmatism, but it’s too early to tell the results. The aftercare guide was clear, with little contact since. I would advise booking directly with the clinic to skip the complications.

The clinic was great. Doctor very knowledgeable. Staff amazing. Everything from the moment I got in the clinic was fantastic.

Bookimed itself. Lack of communication and poor assistance. Bookimed failed to help me to get the transfer sorted after my flight was cancelled. As a result, I had to take a book which Bookimed REFUSED to refund me, even though it was THEIR mistake. I should not have to pay for their mistake, which is a shame
