How Much Does Screw retained implant bridge Cost in Thailand in AUD?

A screw retained implant bridge in Thailand typically costs from AUD $3,572 / ฿A121,433 to AUD $6,000 / ฿A204,008. Final pricing depends on the number of implants used, bridge material, and the city. Australians save approximately 58% compared to local private prices, which average AUD $11,572 / ฿A393,444. Costs usually include the bridge, titanium implants, and clinical consultations.

  • All-on-4 full arch: often 30–40% higher than standard bridges due to complete jaw restoration.
  • Zirconia material upgrade: typically adds a premium of about A$850 over standard porcelain options.
  • Regional variations: Chiang Mai clinics often provide rates 10–20% lower than Bangkok hubs.
  • Diagnostic imaging: 3D CT scans and panoramic X-rays usually add A$200–A$450 to the budget.
  • Preparatory surgery: procedures like bone grafting or sinus lifts increase the total investment.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand is a top choice for Australians seeking high-end dental components at lower prices. Clinics like Kitcha Dental Clinic are official Straumann providers, using original Swiss materials. This ensures long-term bridge stability and compatibility with Australian dental maintenance. Specialist surgeons like Dr. Akarapat Rattananon perform hundreds of successful implants annually, maintaining high procedural standards. Choosing Chiang Mai often stretches the budget further than Bangkok without compromising on clinical quality.

What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it
What would I say to a friend who’s hesitating? Just go for it. My biggest fear was not understanding the treatment plan or feeling rushed, but that wasn’t the case at all. The dentist was very patient and took the time to explain each step to me in detail. It was reassuring. The overall organisation ran smoothly and the whole clinic team were professional and happy to answer my questions. Coordination via Bookimed simplified the whole process, which helped reduce the stress of having a medical appointment abroad. I left with clear information and a good overall impression.

I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism
Hello everyone, like many other people before an operation, I wasn't feeling very well. The staff at the clinic immediately reassured and accompanied me. Believe me or not, I didn't feel a thing. The dental surgeon fitted the 2 implants in 40 minutes, and I had no infections whatsoever. My Bookimed advisor (Péguy) was with me from the start and is still with me today. I would like to thank BIDC and also Bookimed for their professionalism. Sylvain B.

The wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care
It is a clean hospital and the wisdom teeth extraction was done so fast with utmost care. The dentist and dental personnel can speak fluent English which is important for most people like I. For wisdom teeth extraction the cost was 20000 baht for 4 teeth( including medication and nurse charge), but it all depends if the teeth has impacted. I would highly recommend the clinic.

FAQ about Screw retained implant bridge in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the specific risks associated with a screw-retained implant bridge in Thailand?

Screw-retained implant bridges in Thailand carry mechanical risks like screw loosening and porcelain chipping. Success relies on precise digital planning and high-quality laboratory work. Key biological risks include nerve injury or lack of osseointegration. These happen if surgical planning or healing times are rushed.

  • Mechanical loosening: Retaining screws may loosen under bite pressure, needing professional retightening or adjustment.
  • Aesthetic compromises: Misaligned implants can place screw access holes on visible tooth surfaces.
  • Laboratory errors: Poor prosthetic design increases the risk of bridge fractures or bite misalignments.
  • Maintenance constraints: Correcting technical issues often requires returning to Thailand for brand-compatible parts.
  • Surgical complications: Improper placement may cause bone resorption or permanent numbness in the lip.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many choose Bangkok for lower costs, but Kitcha Dental Clinic in Chiang Mai uses original Straumann materials. These global brands are essential. Local Australian dentists can only service or retighten screws if they have the specific matching toolset.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand often find that bridges need bite tweaks and extra time after the initial fitting. It is vital to confirm if local Australian clinics can service your specific implant brand before travelling.

How long is the total duration for a screw-retained implant bridge procedure in Thailand?

Standard screw-retained implant bridge procedures in Thailand require two separate trips. These are spaced 3 to 6 months apart for healing. The first 5 to 10 day visit involves surgical implant placement. The second 7 to 10 day trip focuses on fitting the final bridge.

  • First trip duration: Most patients stay 5 to 10 days for consultations and surgical placement.
  • Osseointegration period: Implants require 2 to 6 months to fuse securely with the jawbone.
  • Second trip duration: Patients return for 7 to 10 days to fit the permanent bridge.
  • Immediate loading: Some clinics offer same-day restorations, allowing for provisional bridges in one trip.
  • Bone grafting: Extra surgical steps can extend total healing by 2 to 3 months.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Traditional timelines require two trips. However, clinics like Silom Dental Building and SOL Dental Clinic use CAD/CAM technology for immediate-loading. This allows some patients to receive a temporary screw-retained bridge in one visit. This is efficient for Australian patients seeking full-arch restorations like All-on-4.

Patient Consensus: Travellers to Thailand often appreciate 3D scanning and the convenience of airport transfers. The relaxing clinic environments help ease dental anxiety during the multi-stage surgical process.

What is a screw-retained implant bridge and how does it function?

A screw-retained implant bridge is a fixed dental prosthesis. It is anchored directly to implants using small titanium screws instead of adhesive cement. It functions as a stable, permanent solution for multiple missing teeth. It is commonly used in All-on-4 or All-on-6 full-arch restorations.

  • Direct attachment: Screws pass through the bridge into the implant platform for mechanical stability.
  • Precise tightening: Specialists use specific torque settings to create a strong, secure connection.
  • Easy retrievability: Dentists can unscrew the bridge for cleaning, repairs, or maintenance tasks.
  • Hidden access: Screw holes on the biting surface are sealed with tooth-coloured composite.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thailand's leading centres like SOL Dental Clinic use CAD/CAM digital workflows for a perfect passive fit. This precision is vital for screw-retained bridges. Even a tiny misalignment can cause screws to loosen or break over time. Choosing clinics with 3D scanning reduces these mechanical risks significantly.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand appreciate that these bridges feel like natural teeth and allow for normal chewing. They suggest asking clinicians how they seal the screw access holes. This helps to confirm a smooth, comfortable finish on the tongue-side.

What are the key advantages of a screw-retained bridge compared to a cemented bridge in Thailand?

Screw-retained bridges in Thailand provide superior retrievability and long-term health benefits compared to cemented alternatives. These restorations allow specialists to remove the bridge easily for maintenance or repairs without damage. They also eliminate risks from excess cement, which can cause inflammation and bone loss around implants.

  • Easy retrieval: Dentists remove screw-retained bridges easily for specialised cleaning, repairs, or part replacements.
  • Cement-free design: This approach prevents peri-implantitis by removing the risk of cement leaking below gums.
  • Space efficiency: Screw-retained options work well in tight spaces where vertical clearance is limited.
  • Predictable outcomes: Clinicians like Dr Akarapat Rattananon use CAD/CAM technology for precise, predictable prosthetic fits.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like SOL Dental Clinic often use Dentsply Sirona or Straumann systems for screw-retained bridges. This allows Australian patients to receive local maintenance easily. Using these global brands ensures any dentist back home will have compatible tools for adjustments.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand prefer screw-retained bridges because they avoid the bad smells and discomfort linked to excess cement. They also value the flexibility for future repairs and adjustments once they return home to Australia.

Are screw-retained implant bridges in Thailand better suited for front or back teeth?

Screw-retained implant bridges in Thailand work best for back teeth. The screw access holes stay hidden on the chewing surfaces. This design allows for easy maintenance without damaging the prosthetic. While front teeth can use this method, surgeons must place screws precisely behind the teeth to maintain aesthetics.

  • Back teeth suitability: These are best for molars as screw holes stay hidden on biting surfaces.
  • Front teeth considerations: This requires screws on the tongue-side to avoid visible holes in the smile.
  • Retrievability benefits: Dentists can easily remove the bridge for cleaning, tightening, or repairs.
  • Material quality: Kitcha Dental Clinic uses original Straumann materials for high-strength posterior restorations.
  • Precise planning: SOL Dental Clinic uses 3D scanning and CAD/CAM for accurate screw hole alignment.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics like Silom Dental Building often recommend screw-retained bridges for full-arch restorations. They eliminate cement residue, which can cause inflammation and lead to implant failure. Choosing this bridge for back teeth or full mouth restorations reduces this risk. This is valuable for Australian patients seeking long-term durability while abroad.

Patient Consensus: Patients find maintenance for these bridges in Thailand straightforward. Dentists can simply unscrew the prosthetic for adjustments. Functional stability in the back teeth is excellent. Some suggest confirming the clinic's aesthetic plan for front teeth to ensure a natural look.
