I’m feeling better than expected this early on
My main worries before the procedure were the recovery process and the final look of the scars. My surgeon was very direct about both, clearly explaining the realistic results, the swelling timeline, and exactly where the incisions for my full neck lift would be placed behind the ears. This honesty was appreciated. The procedure was done under general anesthesia, and I’m feeling better than expected this early on. The clinic’s support has been solid; they gave me a clear aftercare guide and have been easy to reach with questions. It was also a relief that there were no additional expenses on top of the quoted price.

The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations
Waking up, I felt groggy but managed. The clinic staff were competent, and the surgeon was clear in our consultations. The incision was placed under the breast, which is what I wanted. I am still in the early recovery phase, and it has its challenges. My pain has lessened to a mild discomfort, but sleeping through the night is difficult, and my nipples are uncomfortably hypersensitive. Overall, the medical care was solid, though the recovery process itself is demanding. It’s a serious undertaking.

Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care
Monsplaty, Tummy Tuck and 360 Liposuction. My biggest concern going into this was what the recovery would actually feel like. It's not easy. The most challenging part has definitely been the constant tight feeling, which is something to be prepared for. My surgeon used a combination of liposuction and excision. Right now there is still some swelling, so it’s too early to know how my clothes will fit differently in the end. Despite the discomfort, the clinic, the staff, and my surgeon were all fantastic and provided great care. It was a professional and supportive environment, and I'm glad I made the choice to go there.
Very clean, very inviting. After care was good too. Everything was quick and easy. Communication via whatsapp made things easier as well. I travelled solo and the staff helped that little extra.
After surgery garments are not forgiving for us longer torso people. They were a bit short which added a lil discomfort when it rolled at the back. Other than that everything was really good.

Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected
Seeing the surgical site for the first time was the moment everything finally felt real. Even at just 15 days post-op, the initial aspect is already better than expected. We used the penile inversion technique, and while the results look promising, the recovery requires a lot of patience and steady commitment to the healing process. My biggest challenge at this stage is definitely the physical discomfort of being seated for a long time. It is a process. The clinic staff has been very attentive during my stay, and I am expecting to have the catheter removed very soon. To anyone else preparing for this surgery, it’s not easy but it is a good experience overall.

The staff deserves a special mention for being so supportive
One of my biggest worries was the potential for hidden costs, but I was relieved to find there were no additional expenses on top of what the clinic quoted. The staff deserves a special mention for being so supportive. They've stayed in touch and have been very easy to reach, which is reassuring during recovery from my traditional liposuction on two areas. What stood out about my surgeon was how carefully he marked the areas before we went into the operating room. My recovery is going about as expected so far. The whole process was handled professionally.

Just trust them
What really stood out was sitting with my doctor before the procedure to draw the beard shape together. That personal approach made a huge difference. Honestly, so far I'm feeling better than expected. The procedure was done using the FUE technique. The clinic’s support afterward has been great; they provided a clear aftercare guide and have stayed in touch with me. It was also a relief that there were no additional expenses on top of what I had paid. My advice for a future patient? Just trust them. They know what they are doing!
Excellent staff. Really took care of me. Wjile the full effects of my procedure will take several months to show. I'm very pleased so far of the outcome. They are very accommodating and generous with their time
Some language issues but some of the staff speak English well enough that it really isn't a problem

What truly stood out was my surgeon, who was honest about realistic results from the start and personally handled both the consultation and the surgery
I was thinking that going into a revision was getting unrealistic promises. What truly stood out was my surgeon, who was honest about realistic results from the start and personally handled both the consultation and the surgery. It gave me confidence. My alarplasty was done to correct an asymmetric nose, and while I'm still in the early stages of healing, it’s really too early to tell what the final outcome will be. The staff were supportive, providing a clear aftercare guide for my recovery at home. I also appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I had already paid the clinic.

the care provided by the surgeon and the staff was impeccable
My one-off operation went very well and the care provided by the surgeon and the staff was impeccable, apart from a few minor language issues. However, you should be prepared for a few additional costs that were not included in the original price: we had to pay for the transfers between the hotel and the clinic ourselves, and the wound care supplies were insufficient, which amounted to a mid-double-digit sum in total. My most important tip for future patients would be to make absolutely sure you clarify any dietary requirements (vegetarian/halal/...) with the clinic before you arrive.
The coordination team is very dedicated and always available. The staff are consistently very friendly and go out of their way to help. A very comprehensive package with extensive, thorough preliminary examinations and no hidden costs. A superbly equipped single room, including a sofa bed for an accompanying person.
Contrary to what was advertised, there was no interpreter. The nursing staff, in particular, did not always have a good enough command of English to explain everything clearly and in detail. The consultation with the surgeon was less detailed than expected. It wasn’t always entirely clear which services were included in the package and which weren’t (particularly transfers) – but there were no major hidden costs. Hospital food/light meals after operations are always a challenge, and perhaps even more so in a different cultural context – I wasn’t asked about any specific dietary preferences, so anyone who absolutely needs vegetarian, vegan, kosher or halal food should definitely clarify this in advance; in my opinion, the hospital bed was very hard, which is significantly more uncomfortable when you can’t move around much

I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic
My biggest worry was how the results would actually look and feel afterward. Now that I'm in the early stages of recovery from the fat transfer graft, I can say the outcome is positive. The girth is already noticeably thicker. Everything is still slightly numb, as expected, but the visual change is definitely there. The surgeon and the entire staff were professional and clear with all information, which helped manage my concerns from the beginning. It's a relief. Based on the care I received and the initial results, I'm confident in my choice and would recommend this clinic.

The most reassuring part of the whole process was sitting with the surgeon before we started
The most reassuring part of the whole process was sitting with the surgeon before we started. He took the time to draw the hairline with me and clearly explained the entire FUE extraction and implantation process, which helped manage my expectations for the 2,000-3,000 graft procedure. Now in the early stages of healing, I'm feeling about as expected. The clinic has stayed in touch, which is good. Overall, it was a solid experience with the surgeon and staff, and I appreciated that there were no additional expenses on top of what I was quoted.

The entire staff and my surgeon were great and supportive through it all
My biggest fear was the recovery, and it’s certainly a process that requires patience. The entire staff and my surgeon were great and supportive through it all. Right now, my chin is still very swollen, so I can't properly see the projection from the large, solid silicone implant yet. The numbness has been the hardest part. My lower lip feels slightly numb, which has made eating the biggest challenge so far. It’s a strange sensation. Despite the temporary side effects of healing, the care I received was solid and I would recommend this clinic.
Really loved the stuff they were very cute and helpful

My breathing is now even better than before
My biggest concern was that the result might look unnatural or that my breathing might be affected. Neither of these things happened. In fact, my breathing is now even better than before. During the open rhinoplasty, a small bump was removed and the bridge of my nose is now, even so soon after the procedure, already straighter, just as I wanted. In addition, the tip of my nose already looks much more defined. The staff and the surgeon were consistently supportive and answered all my questions patiently, which gave me a great deal of reassurance. I felt I was in good hands.

The surgeon and the whole medical team have been absolutely brilliant
I was really worried about the recovery period, and the truth is it hasn’t been as easy as I expected. My stomach is still swollen, and the compression garments are still tight, but the hardest part so far has been dealing with the annoying numb patches. That said, the surgeon and the whole medical team have been absolutely brilliant. The doctor explained to me that he used ultrasound technology (VASER) and removed between 3 and 4 litres of fat, and I felt I was in safe hands with them. Unfortunately, the clinic’s facilities weren’t up to the same standard as the quality of medical care, which is why I’ve given it a lower rating. Overall, I’m optimistic about the final result.
The medical and nursing staff are truly exceptional

My surgeon was excellent, a definite 5/5
If you're considering a tummy tuck, know that the recovery is a real process. My surgeon was excellent, a definite 5/5. He performed a full tuck and repositioned my belly button, and everything already feels very tight, which is good. My biggest challenge right now is the compression garment; it's just a constant presence. While the surgeon was fantastic, there were some minor organizational points with the clinic and staff that could have been smoother. It's still too early to see the final flat result with all the healing left to do, but I feel confident in my choice. I would give this clinic a 9/10 recommendation to a friend.
The doctor he is excellent .soft spoken ,attentive and a great surgeon.
Rooms could be bigger so that attendant could stay at night. They have a reclining sofa not suitable for night sleeping. Front desk managers could be more attentive to every detail.

FAQ about Full Body Lift in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the health risks of flying home to Australia immediately after a full body lift in Thailand?

Flying to Australia immediately after a full body lift in Thailand carries serious health risks. The main concerns are deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism. Long-haul travel increases clotting risks. Cabin pressure can also worsen swelling, which may strain incisions or cause wounds to separate.

  • Blood clots: Long flights and post-surgical immobility significantly increase DVT and pulmonary embolism risks.
  • Wound dehiscence: Prolonged sitting puts tension on large incisions. This may cause wounds to separate.
  • Increased swelling: Changes in cabin pressure often magnify postoperative oedema and physical discomfort.
  • Drain management: Managing surgical drains and compression garments in transit is difficult without clinical support.
  • Infection risk: Crowded airports and planes increase exposure to pathogens during recovery.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many Australians choose all-inclusive packages at centres like ID Clinic Bangkok. These include 3 days in hospital and 5 days in a hotel. This 8-day buffer acts as a clinical safety net. It lets surgeons remove drains and check wounds before the flight home.

Patient Consensus: Large incisions and high-tension closures make sitting for long periods very difficult. Patients found that waiting until they could move easily made the 9-hour flight much safer.

How long is the recommended recovery period in Thailand following a full body lift?

Recommended recovery for a full body lift in Thailand takes at least 16 to 21 days. International patients usually spend 3 days in hospital for monitoring. They then spend 12 to 14 days resting locally for wound care and drain removal.

  • Hospital stay: Packages often include 3 days of inpatient care with 24-hour medical supervision.
  • Initial rest: Patients should remain in Bangkok for 10–14 days for dressing changes.
  • Activity limits: Light walking starts at 3 weeks. Avoid heavy lifting for 8 weeks.
  • Stitch removal: Surgeons usually remove non-dissolvable sutures and drains around day 14 or 15.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Over 13,000 patients choose Thailand for major body work at clinics like ID Clinic Bangkok. Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul has performed 20,000+ procedures, which helps with complex cases. These surgeons often use teleconsultations to help Australian patients manage long-term healing from home.

Patient Consensus: Expect limited mobility for the first fortnight. Arrange help for daily tasks like washing. Patients recommend staying at least 3 weeks before long-haul flights to improve comfort.

What specific questions should I ask my surgeon when planning a full body lift in Thailand?

Planning a full body lift in Thailand requires verifying a surgeon's credentials with the Medical Council of Thailand. Confirm the surgical facility holds JCI or ISO accreditation. Specific questions should cover staged versus single-session surgery and telehealth follow-up for Australians. Also, ask about technologies like VASER-assisted liposuction.

  • Surgeon credentials: Confirm membership in the Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgeons of Thailand.
  • Clinical experience: Ask if the surgeon has performed 20,000+ operations, like Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul.
  • Facility safety: Verify the theatre meets Clean Room standards with HEPA air filtration.
  • Post-operative support: Ask the clinic if the package includes telehealth video follow-up for your return to Australia.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bookimed data shows a significant difference in post-op care between clinics. Some providers only offer one night in hospital. In contrast, centres like ID Clinic Bangkok bundle 3 days of hospitalisation and 5 days of hotel stay into their A$13,800 packages. Extra monitoring helps detect early complications before you fly back to Australia.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand recommend getting an itemised list in writing. This clarifies if a body lift includes the tummy, thighs, and arms. Confirming the pain management plan and drain duration helps manage expectations for the first week of recovery.

Are the hospitals used for a full body lift in Thailand internationally accredited?

Most major private hospitals in Thailand for full body lift surgery hold international accreditations like Joint Commission International (JCI). Facilities like Bumrungrad International Hospital and Sikarin Hospital maintain global standards. They follow strict ISO and JCI certifications for safety, infection control, and surgical outcomes.

  • Global standards: Bumrungrad International Hospital and Asia Cosmetic Hospital hold JCI and ISO certifications.
  • Local oversight: Surgeons at Wansiri Hospital are certified by the Royal College of Surgeons Thailand.
  • Safety features: Lelux Hospital uses HEPA air filtration and 24-hour monitoring in VIP suites.
  • High volume: Major centres such as Sikarin Hospital serve over 250,500 patients annually.
  • Australian relevance: Clinics like ID Clinic Bangkok specialise in serving patients from Australia.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many centres claim high standards, but JCI accreditation is the most reliable safety signal. Bookimed data shows that clinics with this status, like Asia Cosmetic Hospital, often maintain 0% complication rates. Choosing a hospital with JCI status ensures the theatre meets international benchmarks for complex surgeries.

Patient Consensus: Patients highlight that major Bangkok hospitals offer higher safety and better ICU access than standalone clinics. They suggest verifying JCI status through the accreditor's website. Patients also recommend confirming 24-hour monitoring before booking.

Who is considered an ideal candidate for a full body lift in Thailand?

Ideal candidates for a full body lift in Thailand have a stable weight after massive weight loss. They seek to remove circumferential excess skin. Suitable patients must be non-smokers in good health. They should have realistic expectations regarding surgical scarring and the 3-day hospital stay.

  • Weight stability: Candidates should maintain a consistent weight for 6–12 months before surgery.
  • Physical health: Patients must have no nutritional deficiencies to support tissue healing after long theatre sessions.
  • Skin elasticity: The procedure addresses substantial sagging in the abdomen, buttocks, and waist areas.
  • Procedural readiness: Ideal candidates accept a staged approach, often splitting surgery across two separate trips.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai clinics often recommend combining excision with VASER ultrasound-assisted liposuction for better contouring results. Data shows surgeons like Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic Bangkok have performed 20,000+ operations. They are highly experienced in managing skin-draping requirements common in Australian massive weight loss cases.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand highlight that the surgery resolves hygiene and mobility issues caused by loose skin. Most recommend staying for the full 8-day recovery window. They also suggest using telehealth follow-ups after returning home.

What areas of the body does a full body lift in Thailand typically address?

A full body lift in Thailand primarily addresses the midsection, lower back, and buttocks. This involves a 360-degree circumferential incision. Surgeons remove excess skin and fat from the abdomen, flanks, and hips. The procedure often includes a buttock lift and outer thigh tightening to reshape the torso.

  • Abdominal belt: Targets the belly and waistline to remove the apron of skin.
  • Lower back: Eliminates skin rolls above the buttocks and along the flanks.
  • Buttock area: Lifts and reshapes sagging tissue for a firmer, more contoured appearance.
  • Outer thighs: Tightens skin on the high-lateral thighs during the circumferential closure.
  • Pubic region: Often includes a mons lift to address sagging after major weight loss.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Thai surgeons often include VASER liposuction in body lift packages at centres like ID Clinic Bangkok. This combination is helpful because the surgical lift removes skin, while VASER melts deep fat. This dual approach provides smoother contours that a traditional skin-only excision cannot achieve alone.

Patient Consensus: Patients in Thailand describe the procedure as a circumferential torso transformation. It effectively manages the stomach, love handles, and lower back. They recommend confirming which zones the surgeon maps out so the pubic area and thighs are included.

How long does the surgical procedure for a full body lift in Thailand usually take?

A full body lift in Thailand typically takes between 6 to 6.5 hours. This comprehensive procedure is performed under general anaesthesia. It commonly treats multiple areas in a single session. Specialists may address the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs at the same time.

  • Procedure duration: Usually requires 6 to 6.5 hours of theatre time.
  • Hospital stay: Packages often include 3 days in hospital for monitoring.
  • Thai recovery: Surgeons recommend staying in Thailand for 2 to 3 weeks.
  • Combined techniques: Using VASER liposuction can change the total operation time.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Bangkok clinics often bundle recovery support into body lift packages. Dr Phatcharasak Kraisornphongsakul at ID Clinic Bangkok has performed 20,000+ procedures. His packages include 3 nights in hospital and 5 nights in a hotel. This approach provides medical oversight during the most critical post-operative days.

Patient Consensus: Patients describe this as a major operation with long theatre times. They advise confirming if surgeons will perform a single session or staged approach. Many find telehealth follow-ups helpful after returning to Australia.
