How Much Does Ureteral Stenting Cost in Republic of Korea in AUD?

Ureteral stenting in the Republic of Korea typically costs from AUD $2,600 to AUD $4,400. The final price depends on the hospital tier, stent material, and whether the procedure is performed alongside stone removal. In Australia, the average cost for this procedure is AUD $6,200, meaning patients can save approximately 42% by travelling to Seoul. Fees generally cover the stent, anaesthetic, and initial diagnostic imaging.

  • Tertiary hospital care: Packages at major university centres often include international coordinator fees.
  • Specialised urology clinics: Private single-specialty centres in Seoul typically offer lower administrative costs.
  • Stone removal combination: Simultaneous laser lithotripsy typically adds 40–60% to the base stenting cost.
  • Robotic-assisted approach: Using advanced robotic systems for complex cases generally incurs a 30% premium.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Choosing a specialised urology centre like Goldman Urology Clinic provides significant value. Their surgeons follow European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines and have managed over 10,000 stone cases. While major hospitals like Severance Hospital offer vast resources, these dedicated clinics provide faster diagnostic workflows for Australians. This efficiency reduces the required stay in Seoul without compromising on international clinical standards.

If it is not possible to assist a Russian-speaking client, simply say that you cannot, rather than assuring them that everything will be exceptional and a translator will accompany them. This way, the client won't travel from afar, wasting money and time. I was assured of full support, but there was no translator on site. No organization whatsoever. As a result, I was left to face the language barrier alone at the most critical moment. Now I feel much worse than I anticipated.
If there is no possibility to assist a Russian-speaking client, you should simply state that we cannot provide the service, instead of assuring them that everything will be top-notch and that a translator will be present! This way, the client will not travel from afar and waste money and time on the journey and preparation.
