I couldn’t be happier with my decision to come here, and my flight back to Hawaii was smooth and stress-free
I had an amazing experience with Dr. Park and the entire team! From start to finish, everyone—especially Joanne—was incredibly accommodating and attentive, which made me feel safe and well cared for. Dr. Park did an incredible job on my breast augmentation. Remarkably, after just one day of recovery, I was able to walk around Seoul, use public transport, and see all the sights I wanted to visit. Although it was slightly uncomfortable at times, I never experienced significant pain beyond the first few hours after waking from anesthesia. I truly believe this speaks to Dr. Park’s precision—and maybe a little to my own fast healing! The clinic goes above and beyond for their patients. I received IV therapy, red light therapy, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, all of which made me feel well supported throughout recovery. Dr. Park and the team checked in consistently, which is such a green flag—so different from many experiences in the U.S., where doctors often focus solely on the surgery itself. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to come here, and my flight back to Hawaii was smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Dr. Park for anyone seeking attentive, professional care and excellent results.

That gave me a lot of confidence
I really appreciated the time my doctor took during the consultation for my forehead and frown lines. He was so thorough, explaining exactly where and why he would inject, and was very honest about what realistic results would look like after showing me photos of previous patients. That gave me a lot of confidence. Now in my early recovery, I'm feeling better than expected. It was a good process. The final price was exactly what I was quoted, with no additional expenses. My only note is that there was little contact from the clinic after my appointment, but overall the service was solid.

I am still in the early stages of healing, so I am following all the aftercare instructions carefully. The surgeon was thorough, and the entire staff made me feel comfortable and well-cared-for throughout my visit. The facility was also very clean and modern. I am thankful for the support I received from the whole team.

FAQ about Fillers injection in Republic of Korea

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

How long do filler results last in the Republic of Korea?

In the Republic of Korea, filler results from domestic hyaluronic acid brands generally last 6–12 months. Imported brands like Restylane or Juvederm often maintain volume for 12 to 24 months. Results depend on the specific filler density and the treatment area.

  • Low-movement areas: Fillers in the chin or nose bridge typically last 9–12+ months.
  • High-movement zones: Lip or jawline fillers often require touch-ups every 6–8 months.
  • Calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA): Products like Radiesse can provide natural volume for up to 15 months.
  • Body fillers: Large-area fillers, such as for the buttocks, may last 2 to 3 years.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Budget-friendly Korean brands are popular. However, data from clinics like Forena and RE:BERRY shows that top-tier specialists often recommend 3D-designed imported fillers for structural areas. These "heavy" fillers resist metabolism better than softer versions. Patients choosing CaHA fillers like Radiesse benefit from immediate volume plus long-term collagen stimulation. This effectively extends the aesthetic outcome.

Patient Consensus: Patients find chin fillers offer the best longevity due to minimal movement. Many combine forehead fillers with regular Botox. This prevents muscle contractions from breaking down the product too quickly.

Are Korean filler brands as good as Western brands like Juvederm for fillers injection in the Republic of Korea?

Korean filler brands like Neuramis and Revolax are excellent alternatives to Western labels. Juvederm is one such brand. Both meet strict safety standards, such as KFDA approval. Western fillers offer longer-lasting results through crosslinking. However, Korean options provide a softer, more natural integration ideal for subtle volume enhancements.

  • Longevity gap: Korean fillers typically last 6–9 months while Western brands often exceed 12 months.
  • Textural differences: Domestic brands are often softer and more malleable, favouring a natural aesthetic.
  • Structural support: Western fillers like Juvederm are denser, making them better for sharp jawlines.
  • Area suitability: Specialists often recommend imported fillers for sensitive areas like under-eye tear troughs.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many patients mix brands to balance cost and durability. Some specialists, like Dr Yeom Jihye at Forena Clinic, use Western fillers for high-movement areas. They use Korean fillers for high-volume areas, like cheeks. This strategy can reduce total costs while maintaining structural results.

Patient Consensus: Patients find Korean fillers provide a natural look that integrates smoothly into the face. Most recommend using imported brands for under-eyes to avoid swelling. Domestic brands work perfectly for chin and jaw definition. Confirming brand authenticity via QR codes is a common tip amongst international travellers in Seoul.

How do I know if I'm getting an authentic product for fillers in the Republic of Korea?

Authentic fillers in South Korea require Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) approval. They typically feature security holograms and QR codes. Most genuine Korean-made products, such as Neuramis or Chaeum, display a barcode starting with 880. They also include tamper-evident seals on the sterile packaging.

  • Packaging check: Request to see the unopened box. Scan the security hologram before surgery.
  • QR verification: Use the HiddenTag app to verify unique codes on brands like Revolax.
  • MFDS approval: Confirm the product is MFDS-certified. Check that the lot number matches the number on its syringe.
  • Injector credentials: Use board-certified dermatologists. They should source directly from official manufacturers or distributors.

Bookimed Expert Insight: AB Plastic Surgery is a high-volume clinic serving 24,000+ patients annually. Such clinics often provide CCTV monitoring in operating theatres. This transparency allows patients to verify the product. They can check that the specific product they requested is the exact one being prepared and injected.

Patient Consensus: Scanning QR codes with the HiddenTag app is the standard way. This confirms Korean product origins. Patients say choosing board-certified dermatologists ensures transparency about where fillers are sourced.

What is the typical aftercare and recovery time for fillers injection in the Republic of Korea?

In the Republic of Korea, filler injection recovery is rapid. Most patients return to normal activities immediately. Visible swelling and bruising typically subside within 2 to 7 days. Full integration and final results occur within 1 to 2 weeks.

  • Activity restrictions: Skip strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Heat avoidance: Stay away from saunas and steam rooms for at least 2 weeks.
  • Travel planning: Avoid flying within 48 hours to manage potential pressure-related swelling.
  • Settling phase: Most facial areas return to a normal appearance by day 4 or 7.
  • Area specifics: Nose fillers require avoiding glasses for 7 to 14 days after treatment.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many leading Seoul clinics, such as Forena Clinic, serve over 20,000 patients annually. They do so because they use multi-layer injection techniques. Specialists like Dr Yeom Jihye often combine fillers with signature skin tightening. This approach provides natural volume. It also manages the settling phase more efficiently than standard single-layer methods.

Patient Consensus: Recovery in South Korea remains quick, with swelling usually peaking on the second day. Most find that drinking extra water enhances the filler effect during the first week. Patients recommend booking the appointment for the last day of a trip. This helps avoid heat and exercise restrictions.

Which areas are most popular for filler treatment in the Republic of Korea?

Popular filler areas in the Republic of Korea focus on facial balancing and structural definition. Forehead, chin, and jawline treatments create the sought-after V-line shape. Lip enhancements and tear trough corrections for aegyo-sal are also highly requested. These treatments are popular at leading Seoul clinics in Gangnam and Myeongdong.

  • V-line contouring: Jawline and chin injections create a sharper, more defined facial profile.
  • Lip enhancement: Focuses on plumping central tubercles and defining the Cupid's bow.
  • Upper face: Forehead and temple fillers create a smoother, rounder, and more youthful shape.
  • Eye rejuvenation: Tear trough fillers mask dark circles and create charming under-eye volume.
  • Mid-face volume: Nasolabial fold treatments often combine fillers with thread technology for lift.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Many Australian patients seek imported brands like Juvederm. However, Korean domestic fillers such as Neuramis or Yvoire offer equivalent results. Choosing these local brands can reduce the procedure cost by 2-3x without sacrificing quality. Specialists such as Dr Yeom Jihye at Forena Clinic perform 14,000+ procedures. They often utilise these high-quality local options for facial balancing.

Patient Consensus: Lip fillers are the most common entry point for international patients visiting Seoul. Many appreciate the subtle results for smile lines. They also appreciate the structural definition added to the chin and jawline.

What is the main difference between Korean fillers and imported fillers when getting injections in the Republic of Korea?

Korean fillers generally offer a softer, more natural volume and lower cost. Imported brands like Juvederm or Restylane provide firmer structural support and longer-lasting results. Local options cost about 50–70% less, which makes them ideal for high-volume areas. Imported brands are often preferred for delicate regions like tear troughs.

  • Cost efficiency: Domestic fillers cost from $300 to $1,800 per syringe.
  • Longevity range: Imported brands last up to 18 months; Korean fillers typically 6–12 months.
  • Structural firmness: Imported fillers offer higher elasticity for defining the chin and nose.
  • Ease of reversal: Korean hyaluronic acid fillers are often easier to dissolve if needed.
  • Injection technique: Specialists like Dr. Cho Sung-Jun use multi-layer techniques for better volume.

Bookimed Expert Insight: While local fillers are budget-friendly, Seoul’s top-rated clinics often recommend imported brands for under-eye treatments specifically. Data shows clinics like Forena Clinic bundle premium imported options into 5cc 3D design packages. This approach minimises the Tyndall effect — that bluish tint often seen with thicker domestic fillers in thin skin.

Patient Consensus: Patients in the Republic of Korea find domestic fillers provide a softer, water-glass finish for lips and foreheads. They appreciate that imported products like Belotero blend smoother in areas with constant movement and are less prone to lumping.

Can I bring my own brand of filler to the Republic of Korea, or should I use what the clinic offers?

Reputable clinics in the Republic of Korea offer a vast range of international and local MFDS-certified products. So bringing personal filler brands is generally unnecessary. While technically allowed, clinics usually recommend using their stock. This guarantees authenticity, temperature-controlled storage, and safety during the injection process.

  • Clinic authenticity: Doctors verify genuine products to avoid complications from potentially counterfeit or expired imports.
  • Storage standards: Clinics maintain strict temperature controls for fillers like Juvederm and Restylane to keep them effective.
  • Expertise level: Specialists such as Dr Yeom Jihye at Forena Clinic are highly trained in specific brands.
  • Local options: Korean brands like BELLAST are cost-effective alternatives for achieving soft, natural aesthetic results.
  • Diverse selection: Major centres provide premium options including Belotero, Radiesse, and hyaluronic acid variations for different areas.

Bookimed Expert Insight: Seoul specialists often use a multi-layer technique, combining different brands for various facial planes. Dr Cho Sung-Jun at RE:BERRY Clinic performs over 3,000+ filler sessions using this method. Choosing clinic-provided stock lets surgeons mix structural and soft fillers safely. This gives the best outcome.

Patient Consensus: Patients find that Seoul clinics offer high-quality international brands at lower prices than Australia. The professional staff make the process smooth and provide excellent language assistance during consultations.
