How Much Does Aesthetic Composite Filling Cost in Republic of Korea in AUD?

Aesthetic composite filling in the Republic of Korea typically costs from AUD $144 to AUD $431. Prices primarily depend on the cavity size, the specific tooth location, and the clinic district. Patients save around 50% by travelling to South Korea from Australia, where this procedure costs AUD $575 on average. Standard inclusions often cover the initial consultation, local anaesthetic, and the resin restoration.

  • Standard composite filling: typically costs less for single-unit posterior restorations on one surface.
  • Aesthetic cosmetic bonding: usually carries a 40–50% premium for front teeth requiring meticulous shade matching.
  • Edge bonding: often priced similarly to standard fillings for repairing minor chips or fractures.
  • Gangnam district clinics: frequently apply a 15–20% premium compared to dental centres in other regions.

Bookimed Expert Insight: High-value care in Seoul often comes from U.S. board-certified specialists. Clinics like DARUN Dental Clinic involve these experts in the entire process, including prosthetic fabrication. This level of oversight ensures precision that usually costs significantly more in Australia. Many Korean specialists, such as Dr Ji Ho Ahn, hold Ivy League credentials and offer fluent English communication for international patients.

Set aside more money for the treatment than is stated. Taxes were added on top at the clinic, and the dental cleaning also costs extra. I ended up with additional costs of around $100.
It was very easy to book the appointment, and on the day of the treatment everything went really quickly. Within an hour, my teeth were beautifully whitened.
One negative aspect was the lack of transparency regarding the costs. The description of the treatment suggested that, for $370, you would receive three sessions of bleaching plus a professional teeth clean. However, when I got there, I had to pay extra for the teeth cleaning, and on top of that, a hefty amount of tax was suddenly added to the total price, which meant the whole thing ended up costing nearly $100 more. Fortunately, I don’t trust anything, so I’d already factored in additional costs when planning my budget. Even so, it would be nice to be able to estimate the costs in advance.
